Combinatoire dans des stabilisations du modèle du tas de sable sur la grille Z² / Combinatorics on some stabilisations in the Abelian Sandpile Model on the square lattice Z²

Derycke, Henri 10 December 2018 (has links)
The sandpile model is a discrete model for diffusion of grains on a graph introduced by physicists Bak, Tang and Wiesenfeld as an illustration for self-organised criticality. For any finite graph, Dhar identified many of its numerous structures which simplify its analysis. This thesis focus on the usual square lattice and its subgraphs which are strips of height H, both notions of infinite graphs. Approximations on the behaviour of the stabilisation of a large stack of grains at the origin of the square lattice lead to some random distribution of grains, which stabilisation is connected to some models of bootstrap percolation where modified vertices by this stabilisation forms a rectangle. The laws of the half-perimeter of this rectangle are described by statistics on permutations. As a byproduct, the difference between the generating functions over some permutations of two classical mahonian statistics on permutations appears to mainly be a polynomial with coefficients which are integers and especially positive. Then, this thesis visits in the case of the studied infinite graphs some well-defined structures on finite graphs, in particular the recurrence. In the model on an horizontal strip of height H, we extend the existence of finite automata recognizing recurrent configurations read column by column presented by Járai and Lyons to new automata with significantly less states and these numbers are closer to a conjecture due to Gamlin. An implementation leads to explicit automata for heights 3 and 4 while up to now only the case 2 was obtained by hand. In a second approach, we consider the configurations on the twodimensional square lattice which are periodic in two directions. We suggest to place the sink ensuring that the stabilisation ends at infinity in a direction of rational slope which allows to preserve biperiodicity and a weaker form of Dhar criterion for recurrent configurations. Hence we obtain an effective algorithm defining recurrent configurations among the biperiodic and stable configurations. These biperiodic and recurrent configurations are natural candidates for being the elements of finite subgroups of the hypothetical group on configurations of the sandpile model on the square lattice. We discuss some notions allowing the definition of the law of such a group and experimentally provide some finite subgroups.

Vérification de programmes avec structures de données complexes / Harnessing forest automata for verification of heap manipulating programs

Simacek, Jiri 29 October 2012 (has links)
This work addresses verification of infinite-state systems, more specifically, verification of programs manipulating complex dynamic linked data structures. Many different approaches emerged to date, but none of them provides a sufficiently robust solution which would succeed in all possible scenarios appearing in practice. Therefore, in this work, we propose a new approach which aims at improving the current state of the art in several dimensions. Our approach is based on using tree automata, but it is also partially inspired by some ideas taken from the methods based on separation logic. Apart from that, we also present multiple advancements within the implementation of various tree automata operations, crucial for our verification method to succeed in practice. Namely, we provide an optimised algorithm for computing simulations over labelled transition systems which then translates into more efficient computation of simulations over tree automata. We also give a new algorithm for checking inclusion over tree automata, and we provide experimental evaluation demonstrating that the new algorithm outperforms other existing approaches.

Before, as one of the most important shelters of the regalist clergy formation ? like Diogo Ant?nio Feij? ? Itu, became one of the focal point of Jesuits? setting in the moment of the Order?s return to Brazil. This fact reveals itself inside the ultramontane revolts context, starting in 1844, when the priority guidelines was the normalization of clergy formation, the affirmation papal infallibility and the subordination of the church to Rome. Those remodels were realized through the actions from different people, including the laymen ? presents inside the Christian brotherhood ? and religious orders, that settled in Brazil since the second half of XIX century, as well. Between of them, the Jesuits had a remarkable role inside south of Brazil and then, in Itu small village, where it used to be the stage of ultramontane actions. Using the background of that moment, when happened the transition related of the mindset changing about the church and its relationship with the state ? process called ?Romanization? by historiography ? this research, attempts to understand which were the methods of Itu's Jesuits Clergy, figuring out the intern strategies suggested by them and between them which ones, the education and the media were the most fundamental ones. Through the analyze of the religious speech proposed by Orlandi (1983), it looks to comprehend the articulations between the fundamental elements of Order, the instructions from Rome (the dictates of Pope Pio IX, since the Encyclical Quanta Cura by the September convention od 1864, followed by Syllabus Errorum) and, the local contingencies of Itu?s society. It still aims observing the conflict of the dynamic between the representative of the Order and the power instances in local and provincial aspects, minding this action did not restrict only the religious field, ?cause this relation was determined also by the deep and complex relationship of religion and politics as Pierre Bourdieu alerts. In the same way, seeks to understand how the doctrine aspect, based in the order tradition, was modeled and influenced by new representative ideals in occidental modernity, as the progress, the science and the education. Therefore, this research shall collaborate with the comprehension of the assumed directions by ultramontanes reforms happened in Brazil during the XIX century, and the problematization of concepts solidified in historiography about the ?Romanization? process.

Priscila de Camargo Palma 08 June 2017 (has links)
Social Anxiety Disorder (SAD) consists of a marked and persistent fear of social or performance situations in which the individual could feel shame. Among the anxiety disorders, SAD is one of the most prevalent, considered the fifth most disabling disorder, however, the search for treatment is very low. Different randomized clinical trials show that Cognitive-Behavioral Group Therapy (CBGT) presents satisfactory and long-lasting results, which is considered the gold standard of intervention for SAD, however, a portion of patients with SAD do not respond to treatment. Thus, the objective of this study was to investigate the effect of a group intervention related to high social cost exposure in patients with SAD about psychological variables and memory quality. The intervention used in this study was proposed by Hofmann and Otto (2008). Among the psychological variables studied changes in symptoms of social anxiety, anxiety, fear of negative evaluation, avoidance and social discomfort, depression and symptoms of common psychiatric disorders were evaluated. Fifty-five adults participated in this study, composing three different experimental groups: the comparison group without SAD, which consists of participants without clinical symptoms, the comparison group with SAD, participants with SAD who did not receive intervention during the research (Waitlist control condition), and the group of SAD patients who participated in the intervention. An independent researcher to study distributed randomly the participants with SAD between CBGT or Waitlist condition. Assessments were made at pre and post-test using Social Phobia Inventory (SPIN), Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI), Beck Depression Inventory (BDI-II), Fear of Negative Evaluation (FNE), Social Avoidance and Distress Scale (SADS), Patient Health-Questionnaire (PHQ-9), Self-Report Questionnaire (SRQ), and false memories test in the three groups. The results showed that the intervention achieved a significant reduction in the symptoms of social anxiety, general anxiety, depression and symptoms of common mental disorders, showing that it was an effective intervention. In addition, the scores related to general anxiety, depression and common mental disorder symptoms after the intervention were similar to the scores obtained by the group of healthy participants, evidencing the excellent efficacy of the intervention process. Efficacy can also be seen from the measurement of the large effect size found in the study evaluated by the main evaluation instrument of SAD used (SPIN), this study achieved the expected goal of the gold standard considered intervention. Concerning measures related to memory quality, the initial hypothesis was that social anxious individuals would present a greater number of false memories and / or a reduction of true memories, but this hypothesis was not confirmed.

Étude multi-échelle de l’agglomération pour la lixiviation en tas de minerais uranifères / Multi-scale analysis of uranium-ore agglomerates for heap leaching

Hoummady, Emerence 06 December 2017 (has links)
Basically, this industrial mining process consists in percolating a leaching solution slowly down through an ore heap of 6 to 9 meters high to extract the metals of interest. However, fine particles and clays are often the cause of clogging within heaps, leading to a decrease of leaching efficiency. To solve this problem, copper, nickel and uranium industry uses agglomeration of the ore particles. This process allows adjusting the particle size distribution by gathering fine particles. However uranium-ore agglomeration and the impact of the agglomerates structure on heap leaching remains poorly understood. The current thesis allowed characterizing structural and petrophysical properties of agglomerates and its evolution during leaching, studying the influence of agglomeration conditions on agglomerates structures and finally upscaling there results at the heap scale, using meter scale columns. Clogging phenomena were especially due to the mechanical degradation of agglomerates, causing a decrease of both heap porosity and permeability
