ABB Gate Model : En processledningsmetod för ABB:s produktutveckling / ABB Gate Model : A Process Management Model for Product Development in ABB.

Hallqvist, Stina, Moström, Johanna January 2003 (has links)
Organisations tend to focus more and more on product and process development to increase their competitiveness. Several major organisations, among them ABB, have developed models aimed to more effectively control and manage product development processes. ABB is using its standardised model ABB Gate Model for this. The purpose of this thesis is to analyze how the introduction of ABB Gate Model has affected the outcome of decisions and also the decision-making in the product development process. The study is limited to elucidate the version of ABB Gate Model handling product development projects. No deeper study is conducted regarding the information used or the criteria for the gate decisions; instead, the focus is to findelements in basis for the decision- making that have a greater significance for the outcome at some gate or at specific types of gate decisions. The empirical data of the thesis has to a great extent been collected through interviews with respondents from both of the studied units and also the unit in charge of the implementation and development of ABB Gate Model. The study shows that ABB Gate Model does not to any significant extent affect the outcome of the decisions in the product development projects. In general, the same decisions are made as before and projects are seldom cancelled. The foremost effects of ABB Gate Model at the units are: increased clarity and support to the operational work, improved co- ordination between the units functional departments, and contributed to make essential aspects of the product development projects visible and taken into consideration.

Sarbanes-Oxley Act - Uppfyller den sitt syfte? : En studie av svenska bolags åsikter om SOX och vad den inneburit för dem

Sahlén, Karl-Magnus, Hagman, Johan January 2010 (has links)

Konsten att belöna goda prestationer : en studie i projektorienterad miljö / The art of rewarding performance : a study in a project based environment

Ahlström, Jenni, Larsson, Lina January 2002 (has links)

Environmental KPI's for management and improvements in manufacturing : Increase employee sustainability commitment for Lean and Green production at ABB

Syed, Wajahat Ali, Kali, Rahul Raj January 2013 (has links)
Problem Statement: How does ABB Ludvika facilitate sustainable development in technology, green production with green KPI’s? The purpose of the thesis is to develop a general concept of environmental KPIs for management and improvement in manufacturing. Environmental KPIs can be a main driving factor for work improvement and they will be managed for the continuous improvement in company. The concentration is on the shop floor level including production management (on team levels and department levels). The capability of using different (standardized) KPIs for management and control and more flexible/dynamic KPIs on a local level for enhancing improvements on a daily basis should be investigated. This concept will be clarified to be understood by researchers and companies if they want to implement it. The aim of this thesis is to attain sustainability and to suggest possible gaps between the point of view of researchers and practitioners. The other objective is to find out the key factors involved in production processes that have significant effect on sustainable, and hence the environment.

Employer Branding - Measuring the practical effects of a theoretically sound EVP : A Case Study of ABB Sweden / Measuring the practical effects of a theoretically sound EVP : A Case Study of ABB Sweden

Moser, Rafael Rodrigo, Käck, Thor-Björn January 2013 (has links)
This study was developed during the Swedish spring semester of 2013 for the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration of the now graduates Rafael Moser and Thor-Björn Käck. The students, authors of this research, were selected by ABB Sweden for a research internship on the field of Employer Branding (EB). Employer Branding (EB) is an increasingly popular practice within multinationals. It is applied to develop in the minds of current and potential employees, brand associations related to the organization as an employer. The research problem identified by the authors relates to the lack of reliable measurement of the employer branding process. Therefore, this study consisted of creating a set of indicators or measures of the process’ performance. To do so, the authors relied on theoretical support as well as consistent feedback from Joakim Forsberg, employer branding manager at ABB Sweden. A conceptual model of the employer branding process was developed and internal measures, or Key Performance Indicators (KPI), were placed in the context of the three stage model. The KPI’s were proposed as a solution for the lack of internal measurement of the EB process, and were developed based on the objectives of each stage of the process as well as in Human Resources and Marketing theory. Once the model was developed to the point where internal measures could be incorporated into the EB process, an empirical study was executed and respondents were asked to scrutinize the applicability of the proposed solution in current business environment as well as the applicability of certain KPI’s. Among different findings, results from the empirical study point to a variety of issues that currently inhibit the development of employer branding and consequently its measurement i.e. lack of managerial autonomy, poor integration and communication among departments, misguided resource allocation within EB, etc. Nevertheless, as the experts and professionals interviewed in this research point out, solving the problem discussed in this research with the solution proposed is considered to be the future of employer branding.

Využití kultivačních médií pro množení banánovníku metodou in vitro

Kadlecová, Eliška January 2016 (has links)
This work deals with characterization of Musa genus, in vitro cultivation of banana plants and micropropagation of three chosen Kluai Namwa cultivars. Theoretical part comprises of genus Musa taxonomy and particular groups in this genus, then description of all the parts of banana plant, origin of banana growing and cultivars. The world most important cultivars were chosen and described together with their occurence. This chapter includes description of importance and different usage of bananas and world banana trade, too. There can be found overview of the most important pests and diseases of banana plants, ways of multiplication and advantages and difficulties of breeding. The part named Banana plant in vitro deals with specific uses of different aseptic cultures of bananas, it describes some of used practises and their risks. This chapter focuses mostly on micropropagation of banana plants, from establishing the culture to weaning and planting to the field. Third and last part describes the experiment with multiplication of three banana cultivars from Kluai Namwa group (ABB). This experiment took place at Thai university in the year 2015. The goal was to evaluate the suitability of four different cultivation media for individual cultivars and to suggest the best medium for multiplication. Two solid MS media were tested (one with the BA concentration 3 mg.l -1 , the second with 5 mg.l -1 BA) and two liquid MS media with the same concentrations of BA. As the best medium for all three cultivars it turned out to be the liquid one with 5 mg/l BA. But even when this media was used the proliferation of new shoots was low. As the solution the use of fructose as source of energy and multiplication in TIS were sugested.
