CineScrúpulos (Año 7. Número 20. Marzo de 2019)

Pita, César 03 1900 (has links)

The study of speciation in natural waters are crucial to understand the behaviour and fate of metal ions in the environment, since these elements can be found in different chemical forms (complexed or free). The mobility, bioavailability and transport of these ions can be influenced by natural organic matter (NOM) and aquatic humic substances (AHS), which are the main ligands in aquatic environments. The objective of this thesis was to develop electroanalytical methods using the techniques stripping chronopotenciometry (SCP) and absence of gradients and nernstian stripping (AGNES), which are able to determine the concentration of total (TCd) and free (FCd) cadmium directly in water samples from the rivers Itapanhaú (RI) and Sorocabinha (RS), located in the state of São Paulo. It would make possible a future on-site measurement applications. This study also aimed to evaluate the influence of NOM and AHS extracted from these rivers in the interactions with Cd(II) and Pb(II). Water samples were taken in march and november/2014 in order to investigate the effect of seasonality. These samples were characterised using water quality parameters, dissolved organic carbon (DOC), UV/VIS spectroscopy and concentrations of total, dissolved and free metal (ultrafiltered through 1 kDa membrane with tangential flow- TUF). AHS and their fractions (humic, HA, and fluvic acid, FA) were characterised by elemental analysis, NMR 13C. They were fractionated through TUF through membranes 100, 30, 10, 3 and 1 kDa. The methods developed of SCP (TCd determination) and AGNES (CdL determination) applied in the in natura and ultrafiltered (1 kDa) samples were validated using graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry (GFAAS). The results showed that the main differences between the waters from RI and RS are related probably to the influence of seawater and seasonality. The structural composition of AHS and FA presented higher content of aliphatic compounds. The distribution of DOC after size fractionation showed that the predominant fractions in the AHS and FA were between 10 and 1 kDa. On the other hand, 50% of the material was higher than 100 kDa in the HA. The results of SCP (LoD: 1.6x10-9 mol L-1) and AGNES (LoD: 1.9x10-9 mol L-1) revealed their potential in quantification of total and free Cd(II), respectively, in the samples analysed. The study of interactions of Cd(II) and Pb(II) with FA and HA showed that both materials from RI and RS presented higher complexation with Pb(II). The complexation increases with the pH for both materials. / FAPESP: 13/14122-0

Flickstaden : Flickbokens diskurs och sadomasochism i Agnes von Krusenstjernas Ninas dagbok, Helenas första kärlek och Fröknarna von Pahlen

Jakobsson, Hilda January 2009 (has links)
The object of this essay is the Swedish author Agnes von Krusenstjerna's novels Ninas dagbok (The diary of Nina) and Helenas första kärlek (Helena's first love) as well as the cycle novel Fröknarna von Pahlen (The misses von Pahlen). The purpose is to explore her use of the discourse of girls' fiction, which I analyse by the depiciton of women's sexual awakening, and her depiction of sadomasochism. The theories of Elaine Showalter, Jacques Derrida, Michel Foucault and Judith Butler are used. Women's sexual awakening is depicted similarly in the novels but more explicitly in Fröknarna von Pahlen. In Ninas dagbok and Helenas första kärlek there is an eroticization of dominance and submission, which is not explicitly sadomasochistic. In Fröknarna von Pahlen, sadomasochism is explicitly described as a "perverted" sexuality and reveals the inequality in the violent sexuality, which is described as "normal". The sexuality that is included in Fröknarna von Pahlen's ending utopia is a female same-sex sexuality, which is a further development of the intimate friendships that are often depicted through the discourse of girls' fiction. Accordingly, Fröknarna von Pahlen and its ending utopia can be interpreted as a "city of girls", that is a further developement of subjects such as female same-sex sexuality and sadomasochism that can only be implied within the discourse of girls' fiction.

An Actor's Method to Building the Character of Mother Superior in AGNES OF GOD

Matthews, Venita J. 01 May 2017 (has links)
ABSTRACT Agnes of God is the story of a nun (Agnes) who gets pregnant while living in a convent. She almost dies after giving birth to a baby, who was later found dead in a garbage can. The cast consists of three members: Agnes; Mother Miriam Ruth (Mother Superior); and Dr. Martha Livingstone, the court appointed psychiatrist. Faith is tested as Dr. Livingstone draws closer to uncovering the truth surrounding the conception, birth, and death of Agnes’ baby. I performed the role of Mother Superior in the UNO production of Agnes of God. This thesis documents my rehearsal and performance journey. It includes a rehearsal journal and an evaluation of my performance. The play was performed in the Lab Theatre of the Performing Arts Center on November 5 and 6; November 14 and 15; and on November 19 and 20. Agnes of God is based on a true story. Keywords: Mother Superior, Agnes, Pielmeier, Sacrifice, Nun, Maureen Murphy

[pt] ESTRANHAMENTO, FRAGMENTOS E RESISTÊNCIA NO DIÁLOGO ENTRE AGNÈS VARDA E CLARICE LISPECTOR / [en] STRANGENESS, FRAGMENTS AND RESISTANCE IN THE DIALOGUE BETWEEN AGNÈS VARDA AND CLARICE LISPECTOR

DANIELLA ROCHA CLARK 24 June 2021 (has links)
[en] This thesis intends to build a dialogue between the Brazilian writer Clarice Lispector, born in Ukraine and naturalized Brazilian, and Agnès Varda, a Belgian filmmaker based in France. While the first established a paradigm shift in Brazilian fiction, producing images from writing, the second became a reference of essayistic cinema worldwide, using her narrative texts in off to expand the meaning of the scenes that filled the screen. The analysis of their work reveals points of intersection in the construction of their narratives: they both cultivate a curious look and similar forms of estrangement and displacement, starting from the fragment to speak of the whole and focusing on those who are on the edge. This thesis also seeks to identify aspects such as flexibility and dissolution of the idea of script and linearity, both temporal or as a plot that can be followed.

Bergqvist, Linnéa January 2021 (has links)
The purpose of this bachelor’s essay is to examine the exclusion as a theme in Agnes Cecilia (1981) by Maria Gripe. The essay is analysing the exclusion of the characters in the novel and the way this might be linked to their personal development, which leads the essay to a further focus: the female development novel as a genre. The essay also examines whether the exclusion can be seen as the theme of the novel, which makes the essay reflect on ways to define theme as a concept. The essay is not based on any theory, but previous research on Agnes Cecilia and the authorship of Maria Gripe are frequently used. Skuggornas förtrogna (2000) by Ying Toijer-Nilsson and Sökande, spegling, metamorfos (1994) by Carina Lidström are the ones of most importance. Litterär teori och stilistik (1972) by Peter Hallbergs and the article ”Superhjältar och björnvarelser: temabegreppet och lärarens förberedande läsning från förskolan till mellanstadiet” (2019) by Christian Mehrstam are both used to clarify different definitions of theme as a concept.  The analysis examines how the exclusion is expressed in the novel and the way this exclusion is the basis of the characters personal development, as for the course of events in the novel. Furthermore, the analysis focuses on the female development novel as a genre. The relationship between mother and daughter is especially highlighted, since it turns out to be strongly linked to the exclusion of the novel.

The gendering of aesthetics and politics in contemporary Scottish fiction

Satayaban, Natsuda January 2016 (has links)
This thesis studies contemporary Scottish fiction by four writers Agnes Owens, James Kelman, Irvine Welsh, and Alan Warner, focusing on the problematic position of women characters and feminocentric texts within the dominant class and national(ist) discourses. It argues that the intimate interconstitution between Scottish masculine subjects and class/national politics alienates women from an active political subjectivisation, that the gender matrix of femininity/masculinity underlies the normative selection of which gendered subjects, and accordingly whose symbolic 'voice', can be perceived as 'historical' and 'political'. Scottish working-class men and the texts in which they are the central characters have been considered paradoxically as both a literary reflection of 'political defeatism', but also a form of 'subaltern' counter-politics to British neoliberalism and imperialism. This thesis points out that the common parameters of the debate on the possible (dis)continuation of both class and national(ist) discourses are masculinist, and as such women tend to be perceived as 'non-political' in this (re)politicisation of aesthetics. More fundamentally, these discourses are problematic for women's politicisation because they follow the rule of modern politics which assigns politicality on a fraternal basis, that political struggles are between men of different classes, nationalities and so on. The research interrogates this masculine-centrism in the dominant representational praxis which provides the discursive link between literature, politics, and history which (dis)places feminine subjects into a 'dehistoricised', 'depoliticised' space. It seeks to renegotiate the fraternal terms of this practice and to read feminine subjects and women-centred narratives as capable of conceptually illustrating emancipatory politics.

A NEWFOUND PASSION-CHOREOGRAPHY

Bays, Blakely Skylar 01 April 2015 (has links)
A Newfound Passion- Choreography analyzes the artistic process and life journey of creating choreography for musical theatre. My training as a dance minor at East Tennessee State University from 2011-2015 culminated in my final senior capstone experience as a choreographer for the ETSU Division of Theatre and Dance’s production of Oklahoma!. Composing a new musical theatre dance and analyzing the original choreography of Oklahoma! (and the art of choreography more generally) provided significant material for analysis, and the following research reflects what I learned and experienced. Overall, the experience of choreographing has changed the way I see myself as a dancer and has instilled in me a new sense of respect for choreographers around the world.
