<p>Bakgrund</p><p>Entreprenörer som startar nya företag kommer troligtvis att behöva antingen kapital, eller kompetens i hur ett företag drivs, men mest sannolikt är att de behöver både och. Affärs-änglar är individer som investerar sina privata pengar mestadels i företag som befinner sig i en utvecklingsfas eller en tidig tillväxtfas. Affärsänglar kan också bidra med icke-finansiella resurser till företag såsom kompetens, färdigheter, kunskap och erfarenhet.</p><p>Problem/Syfte</p><p>Vad kan entreprenörer som är i behov av både kapital och kompetens göra för att hitta den ”rätta” affärsängeln, hur kan entreprenören attrahera denna, samt vilka faktorer är avgö-rande för att en arbetsrelation med en affärsängel ska bli lyckad? Syftet med denna uppsats är att utifrån entreprenören som investeringsobjekt så väl som kapitalsökare, beskriva olika faktorer som entreprenörer kan beakta för att öka sina möjligheter till att inleda och genomföra ett lyckat samarbete med en affärsängel.</p><p>Slutsats</p><p>Vi fann ett antal faktorer som kan påverka utgången av en arbetsrelation med en affärsäng-el. Dessa är den personliga relationen, att entreprenörens behov stämmer överens med vad affärsängeln kan erbjuda, överensstämmande avsikter, och ett väl genomarbetat aktieägar-avtal.</p> / <p>Background</p><p>Entrepreneurs who start a new venture will probably need either capital, or competence in how to run a business, but most likely they need them both. Business angels are individuals who invest their private money in companies in a start-up or early growth phase. Business angels can also contribute non-financial resources to companies such as competence, skills, knowledge and experience.</p><p>Problem/Purpose</p><p>What can entrepreneurs who are in need of both capital and competence do to find the “right” business angel, how can they attract these investors, and which factors are decisive for a successful working relationship with a business angel? The purpose of this thesis is, with a starting point in the entrepreneur as an investment project and capital seeker, to de-scribe a number of factors entrepreneurs can consider in order to increase their possibilities in initiating and carrying out a successful working relationship with a business angel.</p><p>Conclusion</p><p>The authors found a number of factors affecting the outcome of a working relationship with a business angel. These are the personal relationship, a match between the entrepre-neur’s needs and the business angel’s competence, an agreed agenda, and a thoroughly worked out shareholder agreement.</p>

Universidade Castelo Branco / A presente dissertação objetiva a comparação proposta no Prelúdio do romance Middlemarch por sua autora George Eliot entre a protagonista da obra, Dorothea Brooke, e a figura histórica Teresa dÁvila. A partir de tal estudo, busca-se compreender de que modo a situação específica da mulher na Era Vitoriana é articulada no romance de modo a espelhar a crise ontológica e epistemológica do próprio ser humano diante das transformações consolidadas com o Iluminismo e as revoluções liberais do século XVIII que culminariam na morte de Deus. Dorothea mostra-se uma cristã tão fervorosa quanto a Teresa quinhentista, mas faltam-lhe certezas e a resolução para concretizar as reformas sociais que defende, pois ela encarna o mito de feminilidade oitocentista batizado de Anjo do Lar ideal de sujeição feminina à ordem falocêntrica cujas funções são a proteção e difusão da moralidade burguesa e a substituição de elementos cristãos no universo do sagrado a uma sociedade cada vez mais materialista e insegura de valores absolutos. As aflições de Dorothea representam as aflições da mulher vitoriana, mas o momento crítico desta mulher reflete, em Middlemarch, uma crise muito maior do Ocidente, que teve início com a Era da Razão / The present dissertations purpose is the comparison proposed by George Eliot in the Prelude of the novel Middlemarch between its protagonist, Dorothea Brooke, and the historical character Teresa of Avila. Such study endeavors to understand in which way the specific situation of the Victorian woman is articulated within the novel as to mirror the ontological and epistemological crisis of the human being itself during the transformations consolidated by the Enlightenment and the liberal revolutions of the eighteenth century which culminated in the death of God. Dorothea is as ardent a Christian as the fifteenth century Teresa, but she lacks the certainties and the resolution to concretize the social reforms she defends, because she incarnates the nineteenth century myth of womanhood known as the Angel in the House an ideal of feminine subjection to the phalocentric order whose functions are the protection and diffusion of the bourgeois morality and the replacement of Christian elements within the imaginary universe of the sacred to a society progressively more materialistic and insecure of absolute values. The afflictions of Dorothea represent the afflictions of the Victorian woman, but the critical moment of this woman reflects, in Middlemarch, a much greater crisis in the Western thought, which began with the Age of Reason

It happens because startups are young companies with no financial record and most of the times without real asset to be given as collateral, therefore, with not enough credentials to apply for a conventional bank financing. Angel investors are wealthy individuals who invest not just own money, but also their expertise and knowledge in startups, also known as ventures. The objective of this research is to better comprehend the angel investment decision making process, identifying and analyzing the most important criteria that Brazilian angel investors use to decide on funding new ventures. The main research environment is Gávea Angels, the first angel association in Brazil, and on a secondary basis, investors from this researcher and his professor networking. This research is quantitative and based on a questionnaire with attributes previously defined in research performed in the USA with answers varying from 1 (not important) up to 5 (very important). The result of criteria prioritization was based on simple average followed by their standard deviation. It also compared and analyzed empirical results of this research with the findings of another relevant search conducted in the USA by Sudek (2006). Answers were based in past experiences lived by each investor and results were analyzed not just in an aggregate way but also segregated by investors seniority (given by number of investments done). This research also analyzed the most important behavioral criteria of management team. Confirming findings of other international studies, the results of this research showed that irrespective of the market, product or financial criteria, the criterion prioritized were those regarding entrepreneur and his/her management team, as it follows: (1) trustworthiness/honesty of the entrepreneur; (2) enthusiasm/commitment of the entrepreneur; (3) management team; (4) domain expertise of the entrepreneur. The criterion ‘how persistence they will be without giving up’ and ‘passion of the team’ were the most important attributes on the particular analysis of ‘management team’. The contribution of this work is to stimulate more studies of a very incipient issue in the world and mainly in Brazil, and also increase the understanding about investing in startups, bringing more insights to entrepreneurs of what matters most to investors when searching for venture capital, and also shedding light to the positive impact of this market on Brazilian economy development. / As startups, empresas nascentes geralmente atuando em uma proposta inovadora e em condições de grande incerteza, geralmente precisam de financiamento para crescer e estes novos empreendimentos frequentemente se voltam a investidores anjos como opção de capital. Isso ocorre porque as startups são jovens empresas sem maturidade de caixa e muitas vezes sem ativos reais para serem dados em garantia, logo, sem credenciais necessárias para levantar financiamentos bancários convencionais. Investidores anjo são indivíduos com grande disponibilidade de recursos financeiros que decidem investir nestes negócios de risco trazendo frequentemente não somente capital, mas também conhecimento e experiência. O objetivo deste estudo é compreender melhor o processo decisório de investimento anjo em startups, identificando e analisando quais são os critérios de investimento priorizados pelos investidores anjo brasileiros em seus investimentos em startups. O ambiente principal de pesquisa deste trabalho foi a Gávea Angels, a mais antiga associação de anjos do Brasil, e de forma secundária, os investidores da rede de contatos do pesquisador e seu orientador. Esta pesquisa foi quantitativa e baseada em resposta de questionário (survey) com o universo de atributos já levantados em pesquisa de mesmo gênero feita nos EUA com respostas variando de 1 (sem importância) até 5 (mais importante). O resultado da priorização dos critérios ocorreu mediante média simples das respostas com inclusão do seu desvio padrão. Também se comparou e analisou os dados empíricos desta pesquisa com outra de grande relevância feita nos EUA por Sudek (2006). As respostas se basearam em experiências de investimentos vividas por cada investidor anjo e os resultados foram analisados não somente de forma consolidada, mas também de forma segregada pela senioridade dos investidores (dado pelo número de investimentos feitos). Também se analisou os critérios comportamentais mais importantes do time de gestão. Em linha com grande parte dos estudos internacionais sobre o assunto, os resultados demonstraram que a despeito da importância dos critérios ligados ao mercado, produto e dados financeiro, os critérios priorizados foram aqueles ligados ao empreendedor e seu time de gestão, conforme segue: (1) confiabilidade/honestidade do empreendedor; (2) entusiasmo/comprometimento do empreendedor; (3) time de gestão; (4) expertise de domínio do empreendedor. Os critérios ‘resiliência’ e ‘paixão do time’ foram os atributos mais importantes na análise particular do ‘time de gestão’. A contribuição deste estudo está em fomentar mais pesquisas de um assunto bastante incipiente no mundo e principalmente no Brasil, e também aumentar o entendimento sobre os investimentos em startups, dando mais clareza ao empreendedor do que o investidor busca em cada venture, e também dar mais luz à importância da ‘cultura’ do investimento anjo para o financiamento de inovações que impactem positivamente o desenvolvimento do Brasil.

To analyze its resurging infinite significations and how angel s image survives and lives with time to contemporanity, in contemporary art. In the first chapter, entitled constancy and variation, it is presented the constant winged figures in history, in art history up to the usage of this image as Christian iconography, when allegory s study through decency made decorative construction to happen in a persuasive form, reaching colonial Portuguese-Brazilian art, through Christian Patronage. Religious construction, connected to economical factors, joined by decency, appears repetition and difference, unique in the angel s appearance. In the second chapter, entitled presence and absence, we punctuate the angel s presence in the relation with the spectator and the world in the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century, from the passage of the divine to the humane. We stand out angel s image as modernity s allegory, Walter Benjamin s adopted and studied figure, as characteristic elapsed from the transitions of the time. The angel, forgotten by human delusion, appears as a reflex of this symptom of modernity, the ephemeral and melancholy feeling. From the lost of divine condition, the angel s fallen, the being endowed of humanity. In the third chapter, as persistence and reelaboration, it is approached the angel s appearance in contemporary art as the field of probabilities and possibilities. Towards tensions of the apparent world, the angel in art appears as the mirror of humanity in contemporanity. This way, it survives by the opposite side, as a formless being and by damages. It consists in the reelaboration of the image as form s survival and thus exists as a weight of its own condition, unbearable and unsustainable lightness. Thereby, this study was done through bibliographical research, on theoretical obliquity and art historic, with a more philosophical and speculative value related to the images, being and operation by collage and connections, with a possibility of new interrogations and interlocutions / Este trabalho propõe investigar questões sobre as potencialidades reveladas pela figura alada, em especial na afinidade do anjo com temas como alegoria, modernidade e contemporaneidade. Propõe analisar as significações infinitas ressurgentes do anjo e como sua imagem sobrevive e vive com o tempo até a contemporaneidade, na arte contemporânea. O primeiro capítulo, intitulado Constância e variação, apresenta as constantes figuras aladas na história, na história da arte até a utilização dessa imagem como iconografia cristã, quando o estudo da alegoria por meio do decoro fez com que a construção decorativa se desse de forma persuasiva, atingindo a arte colonial luso-brasileira, mediante o Padroado. A construção religiosa, ligada aos fatores econômicos, acompanhada pelo decoro, acarreta repetição e diferença singular no aparecimento do anjo. No segundo capítulo, chamado Presença e ausência, pontua-se a presença do anjo na relação com o espectador e o mundo no final do século XIX e início do século XX, da passagem do divino ao humano. Assinala-se a imagem do anjo como alegoria da modernidade, figura adotada e estudada por Walter Benjamin, como característica decorrida das transições na época. O anjo, esquecido pela desilusão humana, aparece como reflexo desse sintoma da modernidade, da efemeridade e do sentimento de melancolia, da perda da condição divina, a queda do anjo, para o ser dotado de humanidade. O terceiro capítulo, Persistência e reelaboração, aborda a aparição do anjo na arte contemporânea como campo de possibilidades e probabilidades. Frente às tensões do mundo aparente, o anjo na arte surge como espelho da humanidade na contemporaneidade. Dessa forma, sobrevive pelo lado oposto, como ser disforme e por avarias. Consiste na reelaboração da imagem como sobrevivência da forma e passa a existir como peso de sua própria condição, insustentável e insuportável leveza. Dealing with the definition of concepts of the literary field of Guatemala, Brazil and Nicaragua, from the year of publication of the analyzed works, the textual analyses are directed towards the perception of the way power stablishes itself under the form of dictatorship oppression in Latin America, and how female characters are presented in these narratives according to this oppression. There is also the identification of the speeches of possible worlds of equality and social justice in Latin America, as produced by the authors. / O objetivo dessa dissertação é o estudo dos temas poder e gênero em três romances latino-americanos: O Senhor Presidente, de Miguel Ángel Asturias; O Senhor Embaixador, de Erico Verissimo; e O País das mulheres, de Gioconda Belli. Tratando de definir os conceitos de campo literário da Guatemala, do Brasil e da Nicarágua, a partir do ano de publicação das obras estudadas, as análises textuais se direcionam à percepção de como o poder se estabelece sob forma de opressão nas ditaduras das Américas, e de como as personagens femininas se apresentam nessas narrativas segundo essa opressão, além da identificação dos discursos dos mundos possíveis de igualdade e de justiça social na América Latina, produzidos pelos autores.

[pt] A economia mundial tem sofrido intensas mudanças nas últimas décadas. As pequenas e médias empresas ganham destaque na economia e revelam consigo a importância do mercado de capital de risco, que ajuda no desenvolvimento dessas empresas com auxílio financeiro e de conhecimento. Nas fases ainda mais iniciais destacam-se os investidores anjos, pessoas físicas com elevado capital social e financeiro que atuam de forma societária nessas empresas. Este trabalho descreve o advento da Economia Empreendedora, melhor adaptada às mudanças acima, e entra no universo do investidor anjo. Com base numa ampla revisão bibliográfica são descritos o investidor, seu ambiente e sua forma de atuação. Em seguida, pela aplicação de um questionário baseado no conhecimento obtido com a literatura, diversas barreiras nessa identificadas foram submetidas a uma pesquisa que constatou algumas semelhanças com os mercados internacionais e também peculiaridades do mercado brasileiro. Avaliou-se ainda o comportamento dos anjos frente a 17 variáveis políticas e econômicas. Esta parte da pesquisa é útil em especial para a avaliação das atuais políticas de incentivo a esta atividade e ao planejamento de outras. / [en] The World´s economy has changed a lot in the last decades. The small and medium size companies became more important and with them the venture capital, supplier of money and knowledge for these companies, also play an important role. In the first stages the angel investors, providers of social and financial capital for these companies, are more relevant. This work describes the origin of the Entrepreneurial Economy and enters into these investors universe. Based on an extensive bibliographic research it describes the angel investor, its environment and investment process. Latter, with research among Brazilian investors, the barriers fo und on the literature were submitted for their opinions. Many differences and similarities were found between Brazilian and the other markets. There were also evaluated the impact of 17 economic end political conditions, which are considerably important for the evaluation of actual and future political incentives to stimulate entrepreneurship.

This thesis deals with the topic of the female characters in selected novels of Charles Dickens. The theoretical part is focused on describing the characteristic features of the women in the Victorian period. The practical part analyses the most important female characters according to the author's personal choice, shows similarities and differences among them and compares them with the society at that time.
