O objetivo geral da pesquisa é identificar um referencial bíblico que descreva a
existência de um método de Gestão de Pessoas (GP) no ministério de Paulo em Éfeso. Para
atingir este alvo, foram estabelecidos os seguintes objetivos específicos: O que é GP? Qual o
verdadeiro sentido, ou a interpretação correta de (At 19.1-10)? De acordo com a perícope
delimitada e seu contexto, é possível identificar um processo de gestão e formação de líderes
na estadia de Paulo em Éfeso? Estas perguntas e objetivos básicos harmonizam a pesquisa da
seguinte forma: A primeira parte aborda: as etapas históricas e o processo evolutivo da GP;
suas premissas conceituais, explicitando com detalhes o que ela é; seus objetivos principais no
que se refere ao gerenciamento de pessoas; e os processos utilizados para sua efetivação no
contexto das organizações. Dez argumentos sobre a relevância de uma GP na igreja finalizam
esta primeira parte. Vale expor neste instante que o APÊNDICE I - (exegese histórico crítica
de Atos 19.1-10) agregado a pesquisa tem como objetivo fundamentar as afirmações feitas no
segundo capítulo e apontar um referencial bíblico da GP no ministério de Paulo. O método
exegético histórico/crítico é um dos procedimentos mais utilizados para análises diacrônicas
da bíblia e submete o texto selecionado a mais de quarenta estágios distintos, que por sua vez,
possibilitam diferentes olhares e permitem uma interpretação literal, ampla e profunda da
perícope delimitada. O segundo e último capítulo toma como base os elementos conceituais
do primeiro capítulo e encadeia com o conteúdo da exegese de (At 19.1-10) e didaticamente
constrói uma ponte entre as ações de Paulo em Éfeso e o processo de GP do século 21. Esta
última parte finaliza com a identificação de três habilidades de Paulo no que se refere ao
processo de agregar, aplicar e capacitar pessoas para o exercício do serviço cristão. Dentro
desse prisma, o presente trabalho pretende fornecer reflexões e ferramentas que viabilizem a
implantação da GP no contexto eclesiástico atual. Acredita-se que a mesma possa alinhar os
interesses da igreja com os interesses de seus colaboradores e trazer uma interdependência
maior entre ambos. / The purpose of this research paper is to identify a biblical model that describes the
existence of a People Management (PM) method in Pauls ministry at Ephesus. To achieve
this end, we established the following specific goals: What is PM? What is the real meaning
or the correct interpretation of Acts 19.1-10? According to the text and its context, is it
possible to identify a leadership management and training process during Pauls stay in
Ephesus? These questions and basic objectives shape the research as follows: The first part
addresses: the historic phases and progression of PM; its conceptual premises, explaining with
details what they are; its main objectives in relation to people management; and the processes
used to implement it in the context of organizations. Ten arguments supporting the relevance
of PM in church end this first part. It would be good to point out that the APPENDIX I
(historical critical exegesis of Acts 19.1-10) included in this research paper seeks to
substantiate the affirmations made in the second chapter and point out the biblical model of
PM in Pauls ministry. Historical critical exegesis is one of the most common procedures in
diachronic analysis of the Bible, and submits the selected text to forty distinct stages, which in
turn, permit different viewpoints and allow an exact, deep and wide interpretation of the
selected text. The second and last chapters are based on the conceptual elements of the first
chapter and link these with the exegesis (Acts 19.1-10) didactically building a bridge between
Pauls actions in Ephesus and the process of 21st century PM. This last part ends with the
identification of three of Pauls skills in the process of aggregating, applying and enabling
people to exercise Christian service. Within this perspective, this work intends to provoke
thought and provide tools to make PM implementation viable in the current ecclesiastical
context. It is believed that PM can align the interests of the church with those of its
collaborators and encourage greater interdependence between both.

The main purpose of the present study was to explore the effects of characteristics of information given in a job advertisement (amount of information and the specificity of the information) on the potential applicants&rsquo / willingness to apply to the job opening with the mediating roles of credibility
of and satisfaction from the information, and attraction to the organization. In addition to that, the factors affecting the decision of the applicants to apply for the job posted such as application modes (internet, by hand in the same city the applicant lives, by hand in a different city than the applicant lives), different selection methods (interview, personality test, knowledge test), and personality characteristics (goal orientation and self-efficacy) were investigated. The study was conducted in three phases. In the first phase, one hundred and seven Middle East Technical University (METU) students were used to decide between two alternatives of goal orientation and two self-efficacy scales, which were translated into Turkish and adapted for the current study, to be used in the main study by determining the validity and
reliabilities of the scales. The second phase was the manipulation check, conducted to test the clarity and meaningfulness of the newly developed job advertisements and questions related to the research hypotheses. Thirty-two
METU students were used for the second phase. The final phase was the main study. One hundred and fifty four METU students from Electrical and Electronics Department were used to examine the hypotheses of the study.The students were randomly assigned to the three different versions of job
advertisement. Additionally, a questionnaire package was given to each participant. The results supported most of the main hypotheses and the proposed model except for the mediating effect of satisfaction. Advertisement type affected the willingness to apply to the job of potential applicant and this relation was mediated by credibility and credibility was mediated by attractiveness to the organization. A main effect of application mode was found for change in application decision, but no interaction was found between application mode and different attraction levels. Goal orientation found to be affecting applicants&rsquo / decision change for different selection
methods. Self-efficacy failed to predict decision change for application for different selection methods. Results are discussed along with the strengths and limitations of the study and suggestions for future research.

Designing Surveys on Youth Immigration Reform: Lessons from the 2016 CCES AnomalyCalkins, Saige 18 December 2020 (has links)
Even with clear advantages to using internet based survey research, there are still some uncertainties to which survey methods are most conducive to an online platform. Most survey method literature, whether focusing on online, telephone, or in-person formats, tend to observe little to no differences between using various survey modes and survey results. Despite this, there is little research focused on the interaction effect between survey formatting, in terms of design and framing, and public opinion on social issues, specifically child immigration policies - a recent topic of popular debate. This paper examines an anomalous result found within the 2016 Cooperative Congressional Election Study (CCES) public opinion immigration question focusing on a DACA-related policy, where support was evenly split on the typically highly favored policy. To decipher the unprecedented result, an experimental survey design was conducted via Qualtrics by comparing various survey formats (single-style, forced choice, Likert scale) and inclusionary policy details to the original CCES “select all that apply” matrix style. By comparing the experimental polls, the results indicated that the “select all that apply” matrix again produced anomalous results, while the various other methods produced a breakdown similar to typical DACA-related polling data. These findings have necessary implications for future survey designs and those examining public opinion on child immigration policies.

L'explicitation en traduction. Une étude de cas : la traduction du Monde Diplomatique en arabe durant la période 2001-2011 / Explicitation in Translation. : a case study : the translation of le Monde Diplomatique into Arabic during the period 2001-2011Al-Mohaya, Essam 06 May 2015 (has links)
Cette thèse se propose d’explorer le phénomène de l’explicitation en traduction et d’observer la mise en œuvre de la stratégie d’explicitation dans un grand corpus composé de traductions en arabe du Monde Diplomatique (MD) durant la période 2001-2011. Elle s’articule autour de cinq questions centrales : Qu’est-ce que l’explicitation ? Qu’est-ce qu’on explicite ? Pourquoi ? Pour qui ? Comment ? Pour mener à bien cette investigation, nous avons élaboré un appareillage conceptuel dont la Théorie Interprétative de la Traduction (TIT) constitue le socle et auquel les autres approches traductives ont apporté des outils conceptuels et méthodologiques complémentaires. A la lumière des travaux antérieurs, nous avons d’abord tenté de redéfinir le concept de l’explicitation afin de déterminer les caractéristiques de cette stratégie ainsi que ses fondements théoriques. Ensuite, nous nous sommes penché sur l'analyse du corpus du MD composé d’environ 5000 exemples d’explicitation en contexte. Grâce à l'analyse discursive des décisions d’explicitation prises par les traducteurs du MD, nous avons pu dégager cinq problématiques principales qui suscitaient leur intervention et six techniques par le biais desquelles ils mettaient en œuvre les explicitations dans les textes arabes. Enfin, nous proposons cinq maximes susceptibles d’optimiser l’application de cette stratégie de sorte à permettre aux lecteurs cibles d’accéder aisément au sens des textes sources. L’explicitation devient pour nous un travail de marqueterie qui consiste à insérer dans le fil du texte des suppléments informationnels pertinents, mais surtout limités au strict nécessaire. Tout est question de « bon sens ». / The present thesis explores the concept of explicitation in translation and the implementation of this strategy on a large corpus of Arabic translations of “Le Monde Diplomatique” (MD) from 2001 to 2011. The argument revolves around five central questions: What is explicitation? What is explicitated? Why? For whom? and How? To carry out this investigation, a conceptual framework was developed of which The Interpretive Theory of Translation (TIT) forms the basis, with other translational approaches contributing additional conceptual and methodological tools. In the light of previous research, we have first attempted to redefine the concept of explicitation in order to determine the distinctive features of this strategy as well as its theoretical foundations. Then, we have focused on the analysis of about 5000 examples of explicitation from MD in their context. Through the discursive analysis of the reasons why the translators of MD decided to apply explicitation, we have identified five main issues that justify the strategy and six techniques by which the translators apply it to Arabic texts. Finally, five translational maxims are proposed that optimize the application of explicitation so as to enable readers in the target language easy access to the meaning of the source text. Our conclusion is that when the explicitation strategy is applied in this way, the result is similar to marquetry with supplementary, but above all strictly relevant information inlaid into the text. It is all about ‘common sense’.
