Esta tese investiga o estilo no futebol como fenômeno de significação, argumentando que o comentário ao jogo funciona como tradução do que se vê em campo. Entendemos que os estilos, em geral associados a nações, só existem pelo olhar subjetivo coletivo dos observadores (comentaristas e aficionados, mas também, por reverberação, da parcela não torcedora de uma comunidade), os quais traduzem o estilo a cada partida, a cada acontecimento futebolístico na história. Essas práticas discursivas, por sua vez, se concretizam no que chamamos narrativas do estilo produto da tradução do que Dominique Maingueneau classifica como o discurso primeiro do futebol no discurso segundo dos observadores, acumulado sistematicamente na língua literária que, segundo Benedict Anderson, reúne comunidades imaginadas nacionais em torno de jornais (mas este trabalho considera a hipótese de que outras mídias também sirvam como esse ponto de encontro) e romances, ou seja, no chão comum das narrativas impressas. Dois estudos de caso ilustram nossa argumentação teórica, ambos baseados na análise de textos de jornais: a partir de relatos sobre turnês de clubes britânicos a Buenos Aires nos anos 1920, investigamos a construção do que Richard Giulianotti conceitua como uma oposição sintática entre as comunidades nacionais de Inglaterra e Argentina; num segundo momento, buscamos as variações semânticas, ainda nos termos de Giulianotti, envolvendo comunidades locais/regionais em sua relação com a nação em foco, o Arsenal de Londres e, novamente, a comunidade imaginada inglesa. O futebol, concluímos, só ganha sentido pleno numa sequência narrativa midiática e enraizada historicamente. As narrativas do estilo constroem um enredo comum espécie de folhetim permanente e amálgama das identidades comunitárias. Dans un contexte de profonde restructuration de la construction navale militaire française, la seconde moitié du XXe siècle a été marquée par un déclin continu de l’adhésion syndicale au sein d’un des bastions du militantisme ouvrier breton : l’arsenal de Brest. Face à une telle évolution, l’évocation régulière de quelques lointains « faits d’armes » a participé à la construction d’une image d’un établissement en perpétuelle ébullition. Sans faire abstraction d’un phénomène protestataire incontestable à certaines époques, cette recherche propose néanmoins de se démarquer de cette vision réductrice en reconsidérant une action syndicale longtemps guidée par la volonté de négocier avec une hiérarchie complaisante plus que par une opposition systématique. Des avancées sociales de l’entre-deux-guerres à la fin de la décennie 1960, elle s’attachera à analyser l’itinéraire d’un mouvement ouvrier tiraillé entre une condition « privilégiée » et un statut de « fer de lance » de la lutte prolétarienne, s’adaptant aux contextes politico-économiques successifs, de l’administration étatique traditionnelle à l’apparition d’une notion de productivité jusque lors étrangère à la construction navale militaire. Confrontée à une situation où histoire et mémoire sont parfois divergentes alors que l’arsenal du Ponant tend à devenir un fort enjeu patrimonial, cette recherche s’efforcera de faire la part entre les mythes et les réalités en replaçant les faits dans les contextes historiques successifs, en redonnant aux événements la juste place qu’ils ont occupée dans le quotidien des travailleurs et des syndicats et en rétablissant l’implication et les responsabilités de chaque acteur social dans le fonctionnement et la vie de l’établissement comme dans la constitution d’une aristocratie ouvrière à la pointe du Finistère. / In the context of fundamental changes to the french naval military structure, for many decades, the unions at the Brest arsenal are facing haemorrhaging membership at a side which was one of the bastions of Breton worker militancy throughout the 20th century. Confronted by a decline which seems irreversible, the repeated evocation of far off ‘feats of arms’ has helped the development of an image of an establishment in perpetual agitation. Without ignoring the protest culture, obvious at certain times, this research proposes the existence of a union policy guided by a wish for negotiations with a compliant hierarchy rather than systematic opposition. From the social advances between the wars to the end of the decade of the 60s, the research identifies the progress of a workers’ movement adapting to successive changes in the political-economic climate and of the traditional state administration to the notion of productivity hitherto foreign to naval military construction.Though history and memory sometimes diverge, while the arsenal tends to become a strong patrimonial stake, this study will try hard to announce between the myths and the realities by replacing the facts in the successive historic contexts, by restoring in the events the rightful place which they occupied in the life of the workers and the unions and by restoring the implication and the responsibilities of every social player in the functioning and the life of the establishment and also in the constitution of labor aristocracy in the Finistère. As well as cutting a new historical path, it seeks to understand and explain the image of confrontation at the finistère arsenal at the time it transformed into a cornerstone of the heritage of Brest.

The thesis deals with the valuation of the European football clubs. The main aim of the thesis is to determine the value of the English football club Arsenal FC for the purpose of entering a potential investor to the company. The value of the club refers to the May 31 2012. Valuation is based on data from publicly available sources, mainly information from the annual reports of the club are used. First, the basic valuation terms and methods are explained. Then specifics of football environment and approaches for valuation of sport clubs are discussed. Subsequently, financial and strategic analysis of the company is applied in the process of valuation. The yield method of discounted free cash flow to the firm (FCFF) is applied for the company valuation. Asset methods (book value of property and property valuation on the principle of market prices) and market method (market capitalization) are used as additional methods.

O estudo da gestão no âmbito organizacional mostra-se significativo para o entendimento das relações que se dão nas empresas e para o desenvolvimento organizacional, o que torna imprescindível sua análise no campo de estudos das práticas gerenciais, no intuito de melhor entender como práticas de gestão mais apuradas poderão melhorar o desempenho das organizações e fazê-las, assim, atingir suas metas e resultados almejados. Uma das maneiras pelas quais o Estado procura alcançar seus resultados é por meio da implementação de Políticas Públicas. No estudo da administração, é crucial que se busque o equilíbrio das dimensões políticas, organizacionais e legais desses processos. Esta pesquisa objetiva verificar o atual sistema de gestão utilizado pelo Arsenal de Marinha do Rio de Janeiro (AMRJ), uma Organização Militar Prestadora de Serviço (OMPS), que, embora seja considerada uma OMPS industrial (OMPS-I), possui uma tríplice atribuição: manutenção de meios navais, apoio de base e construção naval. Logo, são verificados os atuais óbices na sua gestão, assim como suas potencialidades, no nível estratégico, e a aplicabilidade de ferramenta gerencial que possa subsidiar a gestão estratégica da OM. O questionamento se direciona para quais aspectos, na forma de ameaças e fraquezas, influenciam na gestão do AMRJ e quais alternativas poderiam ser propostas para otimizar a sua gestão e minimizar as disfunções encontradas? Sendo assim, para que o AMRJ possa cumprir sua missão com eficiência, efetividade, economicidade e eficácia, torna-se crucial um exame do sistema atual de sua gestão, concernente à condução de suas atividades. Trata-se de uma pesquisa exploratória e descritiva, qualitativa, dedutiva, tendo sido utilizado o método de estudo de caso com pesquisa de campo e bibliográfica. Pode-se perceber que muitas são as limitações e ameaças, entretanto são significativos os pontos fortes e as oportunidades. O que norteou a pesquisa foi a busca pela maximização do resultado global da OM. Procurando ajustar o conjunto de elementos organizacionais que compõem a estrutura do AMRJ, de modo a atingir sinergia da ação isolada, porém sob a mesma orientação estratégica, de modo a permitir um alcance da efetividade, da eficácia e maior eficiência para essa importante OM pertencente à Marinha do Brasil. / Studies about management in organizational context are significant for understanding the relationships between business and organizational development. Consequently, management practices must be analyzed in order to better understand how more accurate management influences the organizations performance, improving and making them thereby achieve their goals and desired results. Implementation of Public Policies is one of the ways by which the State seeks to achieve its results. In the study about management, it is crucial to seek the balance of political, organizational, and legal processes and to provide more complex assessment of Science Administration. This research aims to check the current management system used by Arsenal de Marinha do Rio de Janeiro (AMRJ) (the Navy Arsenal of Rio de Janeiro), a Service Provider Military Organization (Organização Militar Prestadora de Serviço-OMPS) that, although considered an industrial OMPS (OMPS-I), has as assignment maintenance of naval assets, support of grassroots, and shipbuilding. Thus, the current obstacles of its management will be checked, as well as their capabilities at the strategic level, and the applicability of management tool that can support the strategic management of that Military Organization. The question is: What aspects in the form of threats and weaknesses do influence the management of AMRJ and what alternatives could be proposed to optimize management and minimize the found dysfunctions? Thus, examination of the current system of management is critical, regarding the execution of its business, in order that AMRJ fulfills its mission with efficiency, effectiveness, and economy. This is an exploratory, descriptive, qualitative, and deductive research, using the case study method, field research, and literature. Despite many limitations and threats found, strengths and opportunities are significant. The survey sought to maximize the overall result of the Military Organization, seeking to adjust the set of organizational elements that compose the organizational structure of AMRJ, in order to achieve synergy of isolated action, but under the same strategic direction to allow a range of effectiveness and higher efficiency for this important Brazilian Navy Military Organization.

The existence of the Underage Apprentices class was a common-practice by the Imperial Army in several provinces in Brazil in the century XIX, and in this way, we try to understand how, in the case of the Rio Grande do Sul province, the admission and teaching of these destitute, orphans, exposed and indigenous within the Arsenal Workshops worked. Therefore, the main analysis involves the existence of a work and education structure organized by the Imperial State for the development of specialized and free work force, the social relations of the time in the province of S?o Pedro do Rio Grande do Sul and the mechanisms of survival of the poor population before the difficulties of keeping education as childhood subsistence at the time. Thus, we will show the existence of a social and political dynamics that dialogues in three biases analyzed when referring to the functioning of the institution, such as the welfarism, social control and professional formation. In this sense, we will also provide how the underage apprentices, inserted in this military context, made use of strategies and regulations imposed to them, by a superior state power, in order to also ascend within the context of the poor society in the XIX century in Porto Alegre. / O presente trabalho dedica-se ao estudo das rela??es e intera??es pol?ticas e sociais existentes entre trabalho, educa??o e assistencialismo nas Oficinas do Arsenal de Guerra de Porto Alegre atrav?s das classes de Menores Aprendizes entre os anos de 1850 e 1870. A exist?ncia de classes de Menores Aprendizes foi uma pr?tica do Ex?rcito Imperial em diversas prov?ncias do Brasil no s?culo XIX; e desta maneira, procuramos compreender como se dava, no caso da prov?ncia do Rio Grande do Sul, a admiss?o e o aprendizado destes menores desvalidos, ?rf?os, expostos e ind?genas dentro das oficinas do Arsenal. Logo, a principal an?lise envolve a exist?ncia de uma estrutura de trabalho e educa??o organizada pelo Estado Imperial para o desenvolvimento de m?o de obra especializada e livre, as rela??es sociais da ?poca na prov?ncia de S?o Pedro do Rio Grande do Sul e os mecanismos de sobreviv?ncia da popula??o pobre frente ?s dificuldades de manter a educa??o como subsist?ncia infantil no per?odo. Neste sentido, mostramos tamb?m como os menores aprendizes, inseridos dentro deste contexto militar, utilizavam de estrat?gias e normativas impostas a eles, por um poder estatal superior, para tamb?m ascender dentro do contexto da sociedade pobre da Porto Alegre do s?culo XIX.

Mit seinen 8.000 Titeln spiegelt das Archiv des Arsenal – Institut für Film und Videokunst ein halbes Jahrhundert internationaler Filmkunst jenseits des Mainstreams anhand der lebendigen Geschichte einer Berliner Institution, die in ihrer Struktur weltweit einzigartig ist. In der Sammlung befinden sich Filme aus aller Welt, aller Genres, Längen und Formate. Das Arsenal versteht seine Sammlung als „Living Archive“ – ein Archiv, das nur in Bezug auf den Betrachter Bedeutung haben kann. Für das hier vorgestellte und kontextualisierte Projekt wurden über einen Projektzeitraum von zwei Jahren (2011–2013) 37 Künstler, Filmschaffende, Performer, Musiker, Kuratoren und Wissenschaftler, sowie vier Stipendiaten des Goethe-Instituts eingeladen, Projekte aus dem Archivbestand des Arsenal zu entwickeln. In der Umsetzung des Projekts wurde deutlich, dass Themen wie Forschung, Sicherung und Erhalt untrennbar mit heutigen Fragen zu Ausstellungspraxis, Kunstproduktion und Gegenwartspolitik verbunden sind.
