Bilingual lexicography, an example of an African language : lari.

Renouard-Kivouvou, Catherine 26 June 2017 (has links)
This thesis is to study the lexicography of the lari, who is the third language of the Republic of the Congo, in order to propose the creation of a lari-french bilingual dictionary. The first chapter to understand the history of the ethnic group Balari and location and demographic of the language today. The second chapter is an analysis of the language on the morphological, phonetic, grammatical and lexicographical plan. The third chapter is dedicated to the proposals for the drafting of the lari-french bilingual dictionary.

Ravet, Roger January 2002 (has links)
This thesis is an in-depth analysis of La Vie et demie, the first novel of the Congolese writer Sony Labou Tansi, which I consider as a foundational text to the five novels he wrote subsequently. The novel concerns an imaginary and chaotic country called Katamalanasie which is ruled by the Guide Proventiel, a cruel and sadistic dictator, followed in time by a string of equally barbaric and ruthless tyrants. The thesis explores in close detail the novel’s underlying themes, discusses the literary or mode it belongs to, and maps out the possible effects it has on the reader. My analysis has as its theoretical focus the violence, the ambiguity and the uncanny which characterize three important episodes. Following Christopher L. Miller’s recommendation, that a better understanding by a Western reader of a text emanating from, and embedded in, Africa should involve a dialogic reading of other texts, the thesis is structured as a dialogue between a range of theorists in the fields of the fields of philosophy, sociology, anthropology, psychoanalysis, and literary theory. This thematic exploration leads me to identify one overarching theme, namely the precariousness of the state of culture and the dangers of the state of nature. The literary aspects of this analysis shows that the highly ambiguous nature of the novel forces the reader to question and relativize his or her approach to any African writer whose work is set within an African context. And in a concluding stage to my thesis, I show how the effects of the violence, the ambiguity and the uncanny eventually give way to abjection, causing the reader to experience him or herself the dangers that the breakdown of the state of culture by barbarism represents.

Les tontines africaines entre finances et vecteur de lien social : comparaison des tontines africaines du marché de Château-Rouge et des tontines des marchés de Brazzaville / African tontines between finance instrument and socialization vehicle : comparative study between tontines practiced on Château-Rouge market (Paris) and thoses practiced on Brazzaville markets

Nguie, Habib marius 26 November 2015 (has links)
This PhD thesis is a comparative study between tontines practiced on the African migrant market in the Parisian district of Château-Rouge and those practiced in the market of Brazzaville, Congo. In the Congo, tontines spring up in the absence of other accessible monetary and social protection institutions. Therefore tontines are an instrument of financial security enabling small businesses to avoid spending all their earnings on a daily basis. They allow for members to protect themselves from their inclination to overspend or waste money and to shelter money from theft or pressure from peers. Tontines constitute an alternative to the formal banking system for populations with low monetary income, but they also channel savings which fuel savings accounts and serve as working capital to micro-finances institutions. In the Parisian migratory context, Congolese women feel the need to replicate this device: tontines thus become a market integration instrument and a vehicle for socialization. Moreover illegal female immigrants excluded from the French banking and insurance system resort to tontines as a means of social protection and savings. Through financing projects in their country of origin, tontines establish a bridge between immigrant populations and their relatives back home. In the specific case of female prostitutes, tontines appear to be an instrument of symbolic dirty-money laundering.

Transports collectifs et initiative individuelle : approche des transports collectifs artisanaux par l'auto-organisation et les systèmes multi-agents / Transit system and individual initiative : studying small-scale transports with self-organization theories and multi-agents system

Wester, Lea 08 June 2018 (has links)
Several metropolises have not any centralized collective transport system, neither private nor public. Alternative solutions appeared, their caracteristics are principally that the ownership is spread out and the vehicle crew is self-directed. The mode of organization of these transports allows them to adapt dynamically to the demand. We propose to analyse the caracteristics of these systems by means of multi-agents modeling and self-organization theory. Using several models, we show how structures and dynamics of these systems are linked to individual strategies and urban structure.Through the question of adaptability of collective transport, small-scale transports led to concern about urban dimensions of collective mobility and flexibilisation of transport services.
