Příznaky syndromu vyhoření u pracovníků přímé obslužné péče / Symptoms of burnout among staff of direct service care

ZICHOVÁ, Eliška January 2017 (has links)
This dissertation was focused on burnout syndrome among the staff of direct service care. The degree of burnout was estimated using Copenhagen Burnout Inventory questionnaire which was completed by the respondents from six Prague homes for seniors. The burnout incidence in this group was 30-45 %, whereas it was only 18-32 % among Czech Army employees who were studied for comparison. The staff of direct service care had significantly higher degree of personal, work-related, client-related and total burnout than army employees. Further aim was to verify whether supervision leads to lowered incidence of burnout symptoms. However, this study did not reveal any improvement of burnout degree in homes for seniors in which supervision was installed. When searching for most frequent reasons of profession change among the staff of direct service care, it was demonstrated that respondents with higher burnout degree were looking especially for less stressing work. Practice length was only of borderline importance for the severity of burnout syndrome, while age or education had no significant influence on this syndrome among the staff of direct service care. In conclusion, this study confirmed the importance of respondent relation to their job, which was inversely proportional to their burnout degree. The respondents looking for less stressing work had higher degree of burnout than those who searched for other qualities of their future job. This important difference was demonstrated in all groups examined. On the contrary, those who found their realization in their work were less burned out than those who did not consider work as their mission. These findings are in agreement with the idea that the pronounced job engagement represents a definite protection against work exhaustion and burnout.

Stressimptomatologie by nooddienspersoneel / Stress symptomatology among emergency service staff

Oosthuizen, Marinda 11 1900 (has links)
The study focuses on the effect of crisis work on the assistant in terms of stress, the burnout syndrome and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Salutogenic constructs as moderator variables in the stress-illness relationship are also investigated. An availability sample of 52 ambulancemen and 52 control group workers was obtained. Biographic, coherence, burnout, PTSD and stress questionnaires were completed and statistically processed. Results indicate that ambulancemen experience their work as exceptionally stressful and that more Ambulancemen display diagnosable PTSD. There appears to be no difference between the two groups in respect of the incidence of burnout and experience of stress. A negative connection between the experience of coherence and the incidence of stress symptoms and burnout was obtained. Ambulancemen have an exceptionally stressful job and display more symptoms of stress disorders. Recommendations are made on how to reduce the negative consequences of stress. / Industrial and Organisational Psychology / M. Com. (Bedryfsielkunde)

Změna v rámci prevence syndromu vyhoření v souvislosti se změnou legislativy. / The change in scope of burning-out syndrom prevention in the legislation chanages.

MEDLÍNOVÁ, Eva January 2009 (has links)
Paper covers educational training of social services workers who are supposed to have achieved the prescribed qualifications in compliance with the above-mentioned act, or who are supposed to achieve the respective qualifications by means of the so-called qualifications course for workres engaged in social services. Assisting professions are characterized , in particular, by the fact that persons engaged in them are exposed to a more intense contact with people than other professions are. Performance of such professions is associated with great commitment and responsibility. Therefore, workers engaged in social services are exposed to risk of burnout syndrome development to a higher extent than people working in other professions. This syndrome is experienced most frequently as a feeling of mental, physical and emotional exhaustion and not only does it result in deterioration of the quality of services provided, it has very adverse consequences for a social services worker affected by burnout syndrome as well. The work resulted in finding that no improvement of the Burnout Syndrome Manifestation Inventory score was found and that no influence on attitudes to burnout syndrome on the part of most workers engaged in social services after completion of the qualification course was observable. The workers themselves feel that there is no link between the qualification course and the quality of services provided by them.

Zneužívání návykových látek jako kompenzace stresových faktorů při výkonu pomáhající profese / Substance abuse as compensation for stress factors involved in the performance of helping professions

Markusová, Monika January 2017 (has links)
THE ABSTRACT It has been shown recently that workload, stress, and burnout syndrome among the staff of the medical rescue service may be major risk factors in terms of triggering the use of psychoactive substances. Representing what is understandably a delicate issue, substance use among emergency medical staff has not been thoroughly studied in our country. Emergency medical workers' difficult working conditions and the chronic stress they are exposed to, in combination with a lack of support and care on the part of their employers, result in exhaustion and general distress, accompanied by the development of symptoms associated with both physical and mental disorders. This condition may lead to the use of psychoactive substances as a negative coping strategy. Consisting of both theoretical background and case studies, the paper points out the relationship between the chronic effect of stressors pertaining to the job of emergency medical workers and the use of psychoactive substances as a way of coping with and compensating for the implications of work-related stress and fatigue. Thorough case studies are presented to demonstrate the onset and development of addictive behaviour within a wider context, with special emphasis being placed on its association with coping with both acute and chronic occupational...

Evaluace efektivity práce v zařízení Portus pro osoby s mentálním postižením / An evaluation of work efficiency in Portus, an organisation for people with mental disabilities

Svobodová, Eliška January 2020 (has links)
This diploma thesis is to acquaint with people with intellectual disability. Basicaly it deals with terminology associated with intelectual disability, definitions, types of intellectual disability, symptoms and causes. One of the chapters is devoted to the principles of communication of people with mental disabilities and auxiliary communication techniques. Next it focuses on Portus organization, which has been working with this target group for over 20 years. It provides several social services, about which we gathered basic information and based them on the law on social services. The last chapter in the theoretical part is devoted to the burnout syndrome, which is in the opinion of helping professions and in social work, not least, a more common phenomenon than we can imagine. The investigation itself took place in the above- mentioned organization, where I distributed questionnaires on satisfaction with the services to several groups of respondents. In the practical part, I evaluated these questionnaires and evaluated them with other services. The evaluation showed that the clients are satisfied with the support provided and the employees and guardians (family members) perceive the situation in a very similar way. Nevertheless, several suggestions for change could be used from this survey,...

Att inte räcka till : – Vårdpersonals uppfattningar om organisatoriska faktorers betydelse för utmattningssyndrom: En tolkande fenomenologisk analys / To not be enough : – Healthcare staffs’ understandings how organisational factors impact on burnout syndrome: An interpretative phenomenological analysis

Nilsson, Cassandra January 2021 (has links)
Mental health issues, among them burnout syndrome, are one of the common causes behind longer sick leave absences in Sweden. They’re especially common in sectors working closely with people, such as healthcare. This area is well explored, but what is less researched is the organisational factors that contribute to the occurrence of burnout syndrome. In an interpretative phenomenological analysis of five persons’ experience of burnout, it was found that heavy workload, deficient leadership, a lack of social support and a lack of recuperation was seen as factors that impacted on persons with  burn out syndrome. Especially lack of recuperation was pointed out as significant. It was often seen linked to new types of work schedules, particularly what is known as health schedules (schedules developed according to research about what constitutes a good shift schedule, often focusing on shortening night-workers’ shifts from ten to eight hours). Interesting areas for future research should therefore be the role of recuperation as prevention of or cause of burnout, as well studies about the implementation of these health schedules.

Vliv syndromu vyhoření na sexualitu u nelékařských zdravotnických pracovníků mužského pohlaví na pracovištích neodkladné péče ve fakultních zdravotnických zařízeních / The influence of the burnout syndrome on the sexuality of non-medical male health care workers in emergency care setting in university hospitals

Machalová, Andrea January 2021 (has links)
Introduction: The topic of burnout syndrome is a considerably up-to date topic worldwide and not completely thoroughly researched. The aim of the diploma thesis is to learn whether a higher rate of burnout syndrome has an effect on sexuality in non-medical male health workers in urgent care workplaces in teaching facilities. The topic of the syndrome has fascinated me as a healthcare worker in urgent care. The information obtained from the research work will be a partof an international study investigating the impact of the burnout syndrome on human health. In the Czech Republic, this research is conducted under the authority of PhDr. Šárka Dynáková, Ph.D. and doc. PhDr. Jana Kožnara, CSc. Methodology: The research was carried out using a quantitative method using two anonymous questionnaires. The research sample consisted of non-medical male health workers at urgent care facilities in teaching hospitals. The first standardized questionnaire is focused on the burnout syndrome according to the Czech version of the Shirom-Melamed scale (Shirom, Melamed, 2006 In Ptáček, 2013), the second questionnaire is focused on the sexual functions of men according to Mellan in Kratochvíl, S. (1999). A total of 100 questionnaires were distributed. 58 questionnaires were used for processing. Result: The influence...
