The last, fourth, chapter discusses the method of handling exceptions in B2B environment. At the end of the research the general conclusions are made.

Šio magistro darbo tikslas – verslo procesų modelius, specifikuotus grafine BPMN (Business Process Modelling Notation) notacija, transformuoti į formalius PLA (Piece-Linear Aggregates) modelius, naudojantis sudarytomis transformavimo taisyklėmis ir pasirinktomis technologijomis. Darbe apibendrinti modelių transformacijų ir verslo procesų modeliavimo sričių pagrindiniai teoriniai principai; suformuluotos BPMN notacija aprašytų verslo procesų modelių transformavimo į PLA modelius priežastys; sudaryti realios leidyklos verslo procesų modeliai, naudojant BPMN ir PLA specifikacijas; naudojantis sudarytais modeliais ir abiejų specifikacijų metamodeliais, sudaryta BPMN ir PLA elementų atitikmenų aibė; suformuluotos pagrindinės transformavimo taisyklės; naudojantis šiomis taisyklėmis ir XML bei STX technologine erdve, programiškai realizuotas BPMN modelių transformavimas į PLA modelius. Pasiektas rezultatas: realizuotas pagrindinių BPMN konstrukcijų automatinis transformavimas į PLA konstrukcijas, naudojant tarpinio atvaizdavimo transformavimo metodą, t. y. modelius atvaizduojant tarpiniu XML formatu ir atliekant XML dokumentų transformacijas. Transformavimo rezultatas – PLA modelis XML formatu. / The main purpose of this work is to transform business process models specified in graphical BPMN (Business Process Modelling Notation) notation into PLA (Piece-Linear Aggregates) models, using stated transformation rules and selected technologies. There are summarized main principles of models transformations and business process modeling domains; reasons of transformation of business process models specified in BPMN to PLA models are stated; designed the business process models of real publishing house using BPMN and PLA; using these models and metamodels of both specifications the set of equivalents of elements was made; main rules of transformation are stated. Using these rules and XML and STX technologies the transformation of BPMN models to PLA models is implemented. Result: using method if intermediate representation, the automated transformation of main BPMN constructs to PLA was made. The resulta of this transformation – PLA model in XML.

MODELING CLINICAL PATHWAYS AS BUSINESS PROCESS MODELS USING BUSINESS PROCESS MODELING NOTATIONHashemian, Nima 05 March 2012 (has links)
We take a healthcare knowledge management approach to represent the Clinical Pathway (CP) as workflows. We have developed a semantic representation of CP in terms of a CP ontology that outlines the different clinical processes, their properties, constraints and relationships, and is able to computerize a range of CP. To model business workflows we use the graphical Business Process Modeling Notation (BPMN) modeling language that generates a BPMN ontology. To represent a CP as a BPMN workflow, we have developed a semantic interoperability (mapping ontology) framework between the CP ontology and the BPMN ontology. The mapping ontology allows the alignment of relations between two ontologies and ensures that a clinical process defined in the CP ontology is mapped to a standard BPMN workflow element. We execute our BPMN-based CP in the Lombardi workflow engine, whereby users can view the execution of the CP and make the necessary adjustments.

Business processes describe a set of tasks for accomplishing business objectives of an organization. Business applications automate business processes to improve the productivity of business users. Nowadays, the business environment changes fast due to rapid market growth and technological innovations. Business processes are continuously updated to reflect new business initiatives. Business applications are frequently evolved to add features to meet new requirements and fix defects. Quite often, business processes and business applications evolve independently without direct reference to each other. Over time, it becomes more and more challenging to maintain the consistency between a business application and the corresponding business processes. Moreover, the existing development approaches rely on software developers’ craftsmanship to design and implement business applications. Such a development paradigm is inefficient and leads to inconsistency between business processes and business applications.
To facilitate the alignment between business applications and business processes, we present an approach that automatically generates software architecture and code skeletons of business applications from business processes. We identify architectural components from business processes by analyzing dependencies among tasks. To verify the achievement of quality requirements, we extend a set of existing product metrics to automatically evaluate the quality of the generated software architecture designs. Eventually, we apply refactoring strategies, such as software architectural styles or design patterns, to optimize the generated software architecture designs and resolve identified quality problems. Moreover, we also present an approach to automatically refine software architecture to design models and code skeletons of business applications. The volume of data related to business process execution is increasing significantly in the enterprise. Many of data sources include events related to the execution of the same processes in various systems or applications. Event correlation is the task of analyzing a repository of event logs in order to find out the set of events that belong to the same business process execution instance. This is a key step in the discovery of business processes from event execution logs. Event correlation is a computationally-intensive task in the sense that it requires a deep analysis of very large and growing repositories of event logs, and exploration of various possible relationships among the events. In this dissertation, we present a scalable data analysis technique to support efficient event correlation for mining business processes. We propose a two-stages approach to compute correlation conditions and their entailed process instances from event logs using MapReduce framework. The experimental results show that the algorithm scales well to large datasets.

The literature emphasizes the important role played by stakeholder perceptions in explaining success and failure of IT-enabled change efforts. However, our knowledge of how stakeholder perceptions evolve and interact with outcomes during change processes is still limited. Consequently, this study adapts technological frames of reference (TFR) to explore the dynamics of stakeholder perceptions based on action research into an IT-enabled sales process innovation project at VoiceTech. The study attempts to answer the following research questions: How can TFR be adapted and applied to support action research into IT-enabled change efforts? What was the role of stakeholder perceptions during IT-enabled sales process innovation at VoiceTech? How do stakeholder perceptions evolve and interact with outcomes during IT-enabled change efforts? The study develops TFR as a theory for investigating stakeholder perceptions during IT-enabled change and it offers a process model of how frame interactions, incongruencies, and inconsistencies contribute to frame shifts and change outcomes over time. In addition, the study provides detailed insights into how the IT-enabled sales process innovation at VoiceTech shaped and was shaped by shifts in stakeholder perceptions over time.

Design and Implementation of a Framework for Process Management in Service Oriented Virtual Organizations Using Service ZonesAhmadi Danesh Ashtiani, Mohammad Hosein 01 May 2012 (has links)
Virtual Organizations (VO)—a network of independent organizations collaborating to address specific business opportunities—have become popular in today’s technology driven business environment. Due to their autonomous and interdependent nature, management of collaboration among such organizations is a challenging task. Although many solutions have been proposed over the past two decades to support inter-organizational interactions, VOs still face several challenges due to their dynamic and temporal nature that cannot be addressed by traditional solutions such as ebXML, RosettaNet and EDI. In this research, we present a framework for process management in service oriented virtual organizations and a distributed architecture for a flexible infrastructure that supports collaborative business process execution, monitoring and management. The framework contains 6 layers with multiple components within each layer. In designing the components of the framework, standard reference architecture such as the Open-EDI reference model and the S3 service oriented architecture, as well as best practices such as ITIL V3 and PMBOK are used. The infrastructure supports the common topologies of inter-organizational collaboration (e.g. peer-to-peer, star, linear), and responds well to changes due to its loosely coupled components. The proposed infrastructure is based on federating multiple SOA infrastructures with the Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) as its core. It is implemented using IBM WebSphere ™ products. We demonstrate that VOs built with our framework and implementation architecture facilitate flexibility, rapid process integration and dynamic evolution.

Research comparing public-private services outsourcing applying a longitudinal approach including the production/delivery processes (life after purchase) in services sourcing contexts is scarce. In addition, prior studies on service sourcing tend be under conceptualized. To address the above this licentiate thesis presents the results of a comparative and grounded theory inspired case study of two major Swedish FM services outsourcing projects, a public and a private case of operational partnering. Client-provider interaction processes on management level have been followed regularly over time utilizing participant observation as a core element combined with interviews and documentary studies. Observed variations in relational orientation over time, are problematized and discussed. A substantive theory – Business streamlining - of Facility Management outsourcing processes, including the seldom-researched life after purchase processes, is outlined and contextualized. It is argued that existing relational classifications, such as operational partnering, do not capture the life after purchase dynamics of the studied relationships. to be one of the possible solutions for decreasing or removing some of the problems originating from requirements.
This study focuses on the development and implementation of an automated tool that will generate requirements in natural language from business process models. In this study, The benefits of the tool are discussed, and the tool is compared with other software requirement s related tools with respect to their functionality. The developed tool has been tested within a large military project and the results of using the tool are presented.
