The work of Virginia Woolf can be understood as an emancipatory thinking she
developed both as an essayist and as a writer of fiction. The main purpose of this
dissertation is to problematize that very notion of emancipation as singularly linked to
writing and reading. Such a concept of emancipation entails a reconsideration of the
ideas of History and History of Literature. The unifying thread of the notion of
emancipation would be the conceptual literary character of the anonymous, or “Anon”. That character allows to conceive the specific effects that literature has over
subjectivities, since it represents the possibility of existing in a short of double life while
living in a context of given conditions that might be discriminatory or not, creating at
the same time an alternative existence. It constitutes a mixed an ambiguous figure only
possible through writing, one which becomes visible during the act of reading. In this
dissertation, we aim at problematizing the political problem of the emancipation of
women in literature -women understood here as “anonymous” in the sense described
before- contextualizing it in the critique of the history of universal literature that Woolf
provides in her essays, mainly through the figure of anonymous writers and readers.

A escolha
agentes envolvidos no cenário turístico.
This thesis analyzes the discourse of the Catholic tourism events landscapes photographed by
Canindé Soares in the State of Rio Grande do Norte. To conduct this research we selected the
photographs at the database of official tourism organizations, the books and the site of Canindé
Soares, did interviews and visited these landscapes. The choice of the object is justified because
the photo register is inserted in the political scene of tourism development in Brazil. Moreover
to understanding how the landscapes of Rio Grande do Norte are mediated by the National
Tourism Policy to the institution of economic development in the Northeast of Brazil. Our goal
was to understand the cultural aspects prioritized in these landscapes by photographic discourse.
We read the photography as a critical image conception developed by Didi-huberman to
understand these religious landscapes spaces in their characterization process as a show place.
The methodology is a reflection about the present status of the image as a form of visual
knowledge through the archeology. The relationship about photography, landscape and tourism
points to what is defined in this thesis by a spectacularized framework, a category that we
articulate by the reflections of George Didi-Huberman and Guy Debord. The spectacularized
framework is a relationship between the discourses and the social relationships that draw the
news landscaps but maintain olds images and turns then into a spectacle. The reflection about
the image favors comprehension of the discourses that standardize landscapes and naturalizing
the socio-spatial relations. We consider that the landscapes are naturalized by relations linked
to the past icons referenciadores of the region and condition the visualities in the present. In
this thesis we verified that the landscapes photographed, dynamited from the tourism policies
are culturally engendered by a symptom of past visuals that spectacularized favor the
maintenance of hegemonic discourses against the democratic interests. This situation prior
sharing of pre-established stereotypes between image and discourse and keeps away of a social
development based on the interpretive economy, able to valorize the local cultural and the social
inclusion.

This work presents as object the re-construction of the memory of The Institute of Economy of UFRJ for the period of 1979-1996 with the purpose to show what were told in the speeches made inside/ and about the Institution in order to see the imaginary constituted by the professionals there involved. These narratives reveal proposals of the Institution in its origin searching to graduate professionals able to create a new project of nation and at the same time to compromise it with of the retake of the industrialization process. This analysis brings into focus the speeches produced in the period of the creation of the pos-graduation
course in Economy in UFRJ - seen in this context as an institutional mark - and therefore, of the Institute of Industrial Economy that determine the creation later of the Institute of Economy (IE). Previous issue date: 2013-03-19 / Coordena??o de Aperfei?oamento de Pessoal de N?vel Superior / Literary works are thought provokers that make it possible to access several forms to view
the world and reality. They provide diversified points of view and infinite connections. In
a particular way, among all the other forms of art expression literature is considered to be
the closest to life, once it is able to reconnect all human dimensions emotional, rational,
mystic, personal, universal, corporal, historic, mythical. This thesis aims at offering some
reflections about the frontiers and bridges between science and literature aiming at
understanding the complexity that guides them. It presents a new reading of Iracema
novel: Cear? tale of Jos? de Alencar from a meticulous incursion through new ways and
natural spaces interwoven by Alencar. It tries to hear the echoes of this indianist novel in
the university students today. In a broader context, it creates arguments that question the
multiple threadsthat join science and literature so that a science of complexity arises
distinguishing but not separating the innumerous narratives about the world. For this
purpose, this thesis has as interlocutors: Antonio Candido, Charles P. Snow, Edgar Morin,
Emilio Ciurana, Fritjof Capra, George Steiner, Ilya Prigogine, Isabelle Stengers, Roger
Chartier, Roland Barthes. The plot presented here does not limit the novel to science, but
makes it a rereading of the word, of life, once this is the raw material of books. As a
methodological strategy, we rebuilt Iracema?s character trips in a way to update the novel,
resulting in the video documentary Iracema ways: the arid and remote interior, the
plateau, the sea. Iracema novel and character enhancing dialogs that allow the
dichotomy rupture between two cultures (Charles P. Snow), recognizing they are not
incommunicable and revealing the core argument of the thesis: Iracema belongs to a
complex category. It is a hybrid novel that is far, far away from that bluish plateau in the
horizon / As obras liter?rias s?o operadores do pensamento que permitem acessar formas m?ltiplas
m?stica, particular, universal, corporal, hist?rica, m?tica.
interlocutores: Antonio Candido, Charles P. Snow, Edgar Morin, Emilio Ciurana, Fritjof
Capra, George Steiner, Ilya Prigogine, Isabelle Stengers, Roger Chartier, Roland Barthes.

Previous issue date: 2013-07-05 / This is an ethnographic and comparative study of the Maracatus Solar (2006) and
Reis de Paus (1960), whose aim was to verify what is ancient and traditional in the
new maracatu practiced by the guild Solar and conversely, what is new or modern in
the old maracatu ritualized by guild Reis de Paus. It is worth noting that through this
case study it is also intended to ethnographically observe and better understand the
processes of ruptures and continuities between modernization and tradition, and the
relationship between the global and the local. The communication system, the
dancing, the music, the costumes and the loas (letters) were analyzed using the
technique of participant observation as well as secondary materials such as
newspapers, blogs and magazines. The interviews were open, non-directive, but
recorded to facilitate understanding the speech of revelers. The research has shown
that all the symbolic elements of aesthetic expression of the maracatu are permeated
by clashes of historical contexts and of political representation, which, in another
instance, also enunciates a fight of micro-community resistance regarding the
renewal process and the social development that plague modern megalopolis. It is In
this interim, between modernity and tradition that today it can be spoken about the
existence of hybrid identity in the maracatu regarding a context mediated by the
overall above mentioned values and customs specific of the new generations.
However, one can not deny that the forms of negotiations with modernity also require
the establishment of a link with the specific singularity of a popular culture that is not
excluded, but also should not get invaded by the idea of authenticity. Therefore,
performing this study was above all an opportunity to understand also the community
life in the city outskirts, understanding society, culture and everyday social relations
maintained between humans that produce and make it all happen. The Solar and
Reis de Paus do not join in opposition between themselves nor by their similarity.
What is most striking among them is the renewal of a tradition that reinvents itself in
? nesse ?nterim

The primary somatosensory cortex (S1) receives inputs from peripheral tactile receptors and plays a crucial role on many important behaviors. However, the plastic potential of this region is greatly reduced during adulthood, limiting functional recovery after injuries. This fact is due to the presence, in the brain parenchima, of structures and substances that have an inhibitory effect on plasticity, such as chondroitin sulfate proteoglicans (CSP) present in the perineuronal.nets (PNNs) surrounding a subset of neurons. Maturation of PNNs coincide with the closure of critical periods of plasticity in cortical areas, since CSP act to stabilize synaptic contacts. Removal of CSP is proven to be an effective therapeutic approach to restore plasticity and increase the odds of functional recovery after cortical lesion. In the present work, we removed CSP from the sensorimotor cortex of rats to restore plasticity and promote the compensatory morphofunctional regeneration of cortical circuits modified by removal of mystacial vibrissae during the critical period. Treatment with the CSP-digesting enzyme chondroitinase ABC proved efficient to restore plasticity in S1 circuits, as evidenced by morphological rearrangements and functional recovery.
