Att arbeta med självskadande ungdomar : En kvalitativ studie om kuratorers arbete med självskadande ungdomar på ungdomsmottagningen / Working with self-harming youth : A qualitative study of counsellors work with self-harming young people at the youth clinic

Ugarte, Lorena, Shayma, Alqawlaq January 2022 (has links)
This paper aims to form a clear understanding of the counsellors work with self-harming at youth clinics. And to explore the counsellors approach to help the youth to change their behavior. And whether the counsellors follow a preventive and supportive way for mental health in relation to adolescent self-injurious behavior. The data collected for this study utilises a primary source of data. Counsellors working at different youth clinics around Sweden were interviewed using  semi-structured interviews. The gathered material was then analyzed using a thematic analysis method.  All the interviewed counsellors asserted on the importance of establishing a good relationship with patients, although each counsellor had their own methods and approaches.  The counsellors reported that young people engage in self-injurious behavior as a means to deal with stress. And that this behaviour seems to be increasing among adolescents due to a number of factors including lack of parental care, bullying at school, addiction issues at home, and many other factors. Upon asking youth caunsellors about their approach, they note that normalizing self-harming behavior during sessions is an essential key to allow patients to open up about their life. Counsellors are actively seeking to uplift the youth by empowerment. Which seems to be a means that helps the counsellors to change the youths coping mechanism. Through getting them to get in touch with their own emotions, change the way they think and deal with problems, as well as help them by motivating them to find social support from the people around them. However, it was also found that some counsellors did not use a preventive method in dealing with the self-harming youth. There is a number of reasons for not using a preventive method by the counsellors, some of which were lack of resources, time limits, and other reasons illustrated in the paper.

The new curators : bloggers, fans and classic cinema on Tumblr

Cain, Bailey Knickerbocker 14 October 2014 (has links)
This study examines the role of social media in maintaining interest in classic cinema in today’s media culture. Ethnographic analyses and case studies were performed within a robust classic cinema fan network on the social media blogging site Tumblr. The practices of these bloggers and their online platform are framed against the traditional structure of the curator and museum, indicating that they serve many of the cultural functions attributed to these institutions. This study further demonstrates that these Tumblr networks serve as a resource for young people to discover, share, and create communities relating to classic cinema. Due to the networking capabilities of Tumblr’s youth-oriented platform, these fan activities reach a broad range of individuals, exposing them to scenes and actors from classic cinema, stimulating interest in and acceptance of the cinematic framework of classic films. This content visibility and distribution potentially draws those outside the community into the extant fan network. These communities and practices represent previously unexplored methods by which classic cinema appreciation may develop and thrive within the fast-paced media culture of the 21st century. / text

Hejtmánková, Lenka January 2012 (has links)
This thesis is a theoretical study that characterizes shared childcare after divorce as the most suitable post-divorce arrangement. This assumption is based on developmental changes in the European family from the time of the French Revolution, the development of family law and important aspects of family law, as well as on the needs of children, and definitions of maternal and paternal love. This hypothesis is also supported by the results of foreign research, which compares the lives of children in different post-divorce arrangements. The following paper discusses mediation as an appropriate way of helping parents achieve a solution that is suitable for all participants in the dispute. In the conclusion some case studies are presented.

(Des)Prezado público: a disputa pelo direito à diversidade religiosa em uma empresa pública de comunicação / (Un)Esteemed public: the dispute to the religious diversity right in a public broadcast Corporation

Gonçalves, Eliane Pereira 05 October 2016 (has links)
The field of public communication in Brazil transits in a shadowy area. The public radio-broadcasting channels are mistaken by govenrment devices and are handled as so. The EBC creation was an attempt of breaking this tradition. What made it differ from other public sistems was the decision of placing the control of its contentes in the hand of the civil society, by a Curator Board, composed mainly by its own representatives. This research studied how the process of the society being representated in EBC took place by means of the analysis of a case discussed in the scope of that Council: the dispute about the religious diversity, scheduling the EBC station, in particular TV Brasil. The study focused between the years 2009 to 2013, when shorthand notes were reviewed, as well as messages sent from the people taken place in the audience, oficial documents and in-depth interviews with viewers. Thus it was possible to go through the different points of view about the case in which recommended the suspension of the religious progamming in the EBC broadcasting stations and then the withdrawing of the decision. The determination, taken by the Council, although being lined up with the organized civil society and minorities, isolated itself of other political power levels: the legislative, the judiciary, the excutive and religious institutions, and specially, resulted in a process in which would exclude a vast majority of the public from the transmitter. The decision weakens the Council while representative body and reveals its displacement in relationship to the societys demand. Therefore, a fundamental question is put into discussion concerning public communication: how much should the public who is object of the public communication has been despised?

Colaboration of Curator for Youth with Educational Institutions.

ŠROUBOVÁ, Jitka January 2014 (has links)
The author of this diploma thesis focuses on the issues of cooperation of the curator for children and youngsters with school institutions (especially schools). The aim of this cooperation and its subsequent description is to elaborate a multiple case study of selected students whose issues were so serious that the help of a curator was needed. The theoretical part of the thesis is focused on the behaviour of students that is so serious that it goes beyond the scope of regular pedagogical approaches conducted by the school. The system of institutional help, often at hand to schools in such situations, is described with respect to the function of the curator for youngsters. The practical part of the thesis provides the reader with a multiple case study of several selected students whose issues were so severe that the cooperation of a curator was required. A qualitative research was used to elaborate the study and the results were obtained by semi-structured interviews with the students' parents, teachers, specialized pedagogical centre workers as well as the students themselves.
