Školní z(ne)hodnocení / (D)Evaluation at School

Poljaková, Tereza January 2021 (has links)
The diploma thesis (D)evaluation at School deals with the phenomenon of evaluation in the school environment in a broader sense. It focuses in particular on the psychosocial context of evaluation processes. It is a qualitative study focusing on diffrent forms of assessment by teaching staff and their influence on the behaviour of pupils. The study is based on data collected at several school institutions and is mainly based on hundreds of hours of observation and dozens of interviews. Most of the evaluation methods described in the thesis are part of the so- called hidden curriculum of the school and are often not reflected by the teaching staff. These are in particular different types of assessments from position of power, which can negatively affect the class climate and also have a potentially destructive effect on the development of pupils' personality. The thesis is devoted, of course, to more appropriate, respectful methods of evaluation. But it also points to the fact that even such assessments are no guarantee that pupils' behaviour will be disciplined and cooperative. The thesis discusses various modes of pupil responses to power and respectful evaluations by teaching staff, depending on the type of tune-up class as a social group. The main aim of the thesis is to highlight the gap between theory...

Sociální klima třídy v 1. ročníku základní školy / Social class climate in the first grade of the primary school

Novická, Denisa January 2020 (has links)
Social class climate in the first grade of the primary school is the topic of my diploma thesis. My work is oriented on the creating and affecting the class climate by a beginner teacher. The theoretical part of my thesis is describing the key concept of class societal climate. Later on, I am describing methods that teachers can use to affect the class societal climate. I have chosen methods of personal and societal education and describing them in detail within the theoretical part. Those methods are described in connection with Framework Education Program of Elementary Education and didactic point of view. In addition, there is a part describing pupils' maturity and their readiness before and after entering school. To be fully oriented in this area, I recognized as a very important thing to also include methods used for collecting information about the status of the class climate. The empirical part of my work incorporates teachers research based on McNiff cyclus. Activities related to Personal and Social Education I divided into separate chapters based on different objectives. For example a first meeting, building relationships, making rules, cooperation, conflict solving and final activities for validating the status of class unification. All different parts of activities are divided to...

A Network Analysis of the Climate and Interpersonal Relationships in the Elementary School

Li, Wei Pin Unknown Date (has links)
The study was to investigated the primary school’s classes. The purpose is to understand the class climate and social network of the class. The forty-four classes were in the study by random sampling from Taiwan area.Teacher-student relationship and peer relationship are treated the classification variables. The classes were divided into three categories by clustering method. 18 classes were High-quality relationship; 11 calasses were Low-quality relationship. The results are the comparison of two types of class. High-quality relationship classes have some features: Standard deviation is smaller in teacher-student relationship, the same result of differences between boys and girls. The better the relationship between popular students and teacher. Second, the two-type classes were no differences in social network model. High-quality and Low-quality classes both forming a small community in nature. From the analysis of the class entrials, Mutually beneficial relationship and the relationship between small groups were the important issues. A six-week course experimented in a class.

Gosselin, Sabrina 06 1900 (has links)
Les amis de Zippy teaching program for coping skills aims to promote mental health in junior elementary students. This study is a secondary analysis done with data derived from the program evaluation. The general goal is to verify if belongingness to the intervention group is linked to a better class relational climate at the end of the school year, as perceived by the teachers, while controlling for the class relational climate before the implantation of the program. The class relational climate refers to the relationships between the students and the relationship between the students and the teacher. The moderating effects of behaviors management and educational practices are analyzed as well. The sample is composed of 35 self-selected teachers no randomly separated into two groups. The following scales from the elementary school QES, teacher’s version, were used: relationships between the students, relationship between the students and the teacher, behaviors management and educational practices. Multiple linear regressions revealed that, generally, group belongingness does not significantly explain the quality of the class relational climate. However, an interaction effect with behaviors management is identified. When teachers have a hard time managing their class, the Les amis de Zippy program is associated with a less favorable relational climate between the students and the teacher then in the comparison group. However, these preliminary results need to be studied more thoroughly because they may be due to uncontrolled external variables.
