Allusives Sprechen in Psychotherapien / Konversationsanalytische Untersuchung verdeckter Beziehungskommentare

Alder, Marie-Luise 26 August 2020 (has links)
This paper examines allusive speaking in psychotherapeutic conversations, with a focus on covertly insinuated criticism of the therapist. Allusion markers, which form a word or groups of words, are used to refer to another context. The present work focuses in particular on allusions that comment on relationships. These are hidden comments that address the recipient of the allusion. In politics, in flirting, in gossip or bribery, the linguistic practice whose resource is ambiguity is used. These are socially delicate situations in which the reputation of one depends on the judgement of the other. Using detailed transcripts from behavioural therapy, psychodynamic psychotherapy (tiefenpsychologisch fundiert is a special modification of psychoanalysis in Germany) and psychoanalysis, the book shows how a covertly critical commentary by the patient follows a frustrating interaction experience. The commentary is realized by means of a narrative that contains allusion markers that refer to the current context. The subsequent statements of the therapists show that they understand the relationship-commenting function of the narrative. Nevertheless, the meaning of the narrative continues to be ambiguously negotiated. With the method of conversation analysis (CA), which originates from ethnomethodology, sociology and linguistics, the course of interaction between patients and therapists is examined in detail, findings are derived and presented using transcript fragments. It becomes clear that the interaction history of the interactants is incorporated into utterances and its interpretation. If psychotherapeutic theory and practice are open to such phenomena can be recognized: Relationship-relevant utterances and utterances that are not intrasubjective but determined by the current scene of the conversation that is co-constructed by the interactants.

Renouncing racism in a Dutch Reformed congregation

Meiring, Lieze Fredericka 11 1900 (has links)
The Dutch Reformed Church provided the theological justification for Apartheid since 1948 and contributed to discourses of racism and cultural hegemony. In this research narrative conversations were used to confront racism prevalent among many Dutch Reformed congregants. Social discourses, created through language, marginalised and oppressed people of Colour in South Africa. In this project, narrative conversations were used to deconstruct these oppressive racial discourses. Antjie Krog's book on the Truth and Reconciliation Commission's work, Country of my skull, confronted the congregants with the painful and dehumanising effects of Apartheid. Externalising conversations assisted congregants to face their guilt and the unjust discourses trapping them. In addition, this deconstruction empowered the congregants to challenge racism and cultural hegemony by living more ethical lives. / Philosophy, Practical & Systematic Theology / M. Th.

Steyn, Abraham Johannes Christiaan 08 1900 (has links)
Text in Afrikaans / Some of the limited research available on narrative reflecting team therapy was used in this study to develop a reflecting team therapy story. The reflecting team therapy story was developed using qualitative methodology in the form of an experimental text, which was strongly influenced by narrative discourse. The adopted methodology contributed to allowing the reflecting team therapy story as experienced by the client to speak very clearly to us. The following issues, inter alia, emerged: therapy is faster, clients are empowered, gender is important in therapy, the process is promoted by the multiplic ity of interactions and clients experience a scense of enpathy. The reflecting team therapy story can therefore serve as a working document which the reader can co-author. In the true spirit of narrative methology, I believe that every story contains an alternative story. There is no one true and final story.

The structure of abstract social reality inherent to prescribed societies : the quiddity of intraorganizational cooperation links and structures resulting from the actual activity, in the case of the sensemaking process deriving from strategic decisions

Dandelot, Damien 15 May 2012 (has links)
Based on the idea that the subsidiaries of a company are able to call into question the decisions of senior management (the parent company), the holistic approach developed in this study assumes that an organization can be a “being”, implying thereby that the information in its possession is external to the individuals who compose it. This raises the question of whether it is conceivable to ignore the individual in such a relationship of domination. This thesis proposes a model based on the results which show the difficult exclusion of the individual in a meta-organizational context (in which members would be organizations and not individuals). Along these same lines, the organization’s human dynamics are at the heart of this research: there exists by and through the individual a dynamic resulting from actual activity that allows the organization to live by itself, while also allowing prescribe to evolve. Although the results show that the organization is not a dead and strengthless object, and it has the opportunity to live by itself, it is the individuals who —through their conditional commitments— allow the separate existence of an organizational structure’s intra-consciousness, which imposes rights and obligations. In this perspective, the proposed model aims to draw the structures of abstract social reality (referred as Entity X in this study) by showing the strengths and organizational constraints that weigh on individual members, while raising the human capacity to emerge from the structures prescribed by the sensemaking of links and transversal structures for cooperation that originate from the actual activity.
