Jos leidžia sukurti sklandžią vartotojo sąsają, kuri išnaudoja naujas grafikos, skaičiavimų bei komunikacijos galimybes. Technologija yra aktyviai vystoma ir gauna vis daugiau dėmesio iš programinės įrangos kūrėjų. Šiame darbe pristatomos raiškiųjų interneto programų technologijos ir jų panaudojimas. Pristatomi nauji duomenų, verslo ir vaizdavimo logikos modeliavimo būdai. Aprašomos šių technologijų charakteristikos. Raiškiųjų interneto programų savybės palyginamos su darbastalio ir tradicinėmis interneto programų savybėmis. Sukurta pavyzdinė interaktyvi paskirstyta sistema ir parodomi galimi technologijos pritaikymo ir problemų sprendimo būdai. Galiausiai atliekami našumo ir apkrovimo testai, kurie parodo šių technologijų pritaikymo tikslingumą. / Internet technologies are being developed ever faster, and new ways for representing information are emerging. One such technology is Rich Internet Applications (RIA). This technology allows better and more responsive UI‘s, overwhelming graphic support, new computational, communication and interoperability capabilities. This technology is getting more and more support from key technology developers. In this work you will be presented with RIA technologies and their usage. New ways for working with data, business and presentation layers will be presented. RIA technology characteristics will be thoroughly analyzed and compared with desktop and traditional web applications. An example interactive distributed system will be presented to show possible technology choices and solutions. Finally performance and stress tests will be conducted to show RIA technology feasibility.

Development of a Method of Analysis for Identifying an Individual Patient’s Perspective in Video-recorded Oncology ConsultationsHealing, Sara 26 August 2013 (has links)
Patient-centred care has become an important model for health-care delivery, especially in cancer care. The implementation of this model includes patient-centred communication between the clinician and his or her patient. However, most research on patient-centred communication focuses on the clinicians’ initiative: what clinicians should do and what information they should seek to elicit from patients. It is equally important to recognize what each individual patient can contribute about his or her unique perspective on the disease, its treatment, and the effects on what is important to this patient. This thesis reports the development of a system for analyzing over 1500 utterances made by patients in eight video-recorded oncology consultations at the British Columbia Cancer Agency, Vancouver Island Centre. The analysis distinguishes between biomedical information that the patient can provide and patient-centred information, which contributes the individual patient’s unique perspective on any aspect of his or her illness or treatment. The resulting analysis system includes detailed operational definitions with examples, a decision tree, and .eaf files in ELAN software for viewing and for recording decisions. Two psychometric tests demonstrated that the system is replicable: high inter-analyst reliability (90% agreement between independent analysts) on a random sample of the data set and cross-validation to the remainder of the data set. A supplemental idiographic analysis of each consultation illustrates the important role that patient-centred information played in these consultations. With a plethora of approaches available, encompassing various design patterns and communication techniques, the selection of technologies often hinges upon the expertise and knowledge of software designers. However, designing microservices solely through human efforts poses significant challenges for companies. Moreover, the monitoring aspect presents its own set of complexities in the realm of microservices. This research aims to elucidate the prevalent design patterns and communication methods utilized in modern IT microservices environments. It also seeks to demonstrate the integration of Artificial Intelligence tools such as ChatGPT into the architecture design process, particularly in enhancing monitoring capabilities within microservices. Subsequently, a prototype is proposed to offer design guidance, as recommended by the ChatGPT and Llama 2 customized models in accordance with the specified requirements. Additionally, the study primarily seeks to identify prevalent design patterns and communication methods employed within the IT industry through the utilization of surveys and interviews conducted with both technical and non-technical personnel.

Using new tools to study the neural mechanisms of sensation : auditory processing in locusts and translational motion vision in fliesIsaacson, Matthew David January 2019 (has links)
This thesis describes work from both the University of Cambridge in the lab of Berthold Hedwig and from the HHMI Janelia Research Campus in the lab of Michael Reiser. At the University of Cambridge, my work involved the development and demonstration of a method for electrophoretically delivering dyes and tracers for anatomical and functional imaging into animals that are not amenable to genetic labelling techniques. Using this method in locusts and crickets - model systems of particular interest for their acoustic communication - I successfully delivered polar fluorescent dyes and tracers through the sheath covering the auditory nerve, simultaneously staining both the peripheral sensory structures and the central axonal projections without destroying the nerve's function. I could label neurons which extend far from the tracer delivery site on the nerve as well as local neuron populations through the brain's surface. I used the same method to deliver calcium indicators into central neuropils for in vivo optical imaging of sound-evoked activity, as well as calling song-evoked activity in the brain. The work completed at the Janelia Research Campus began with the development of a modern version of a modular LED display and virtual reality control system to enable research on the visual control of complex behaviors in head-fixed animals. The primary advantages of our newly developed LED-based display over other display technologies are its high-speed operation, brightness uniformity and control, precise synchronization with analog inputs and outputs, and its ability to be configured into a variety of display geometries. Utilizing the system's fast display refresh rates, I conducted the first accurate characterization of the upper limits of the speed sensitivity of Drosophila for apparent motion during flight. I also developed a flexible approach to presenting optic flow scenes for functional imaging of motion-sensitive neurons. Finally, through the on-line analysis of behavioral measures, image rendering, and display streaming with low latency to multi-color (UV/Green) LED panels, I demonstrated the ability to create more naturalistic stimuli and interactive virtual visual landscapes. Lastly, I used this new visual display system to explore a newly discovered cell-type that had been implicated in higher-order motion processing from a large genetic screen of visually-guided behavior deficits. Using genetic silencing and activation methods, and by designing stimuli that modeled the optic flow encountered during different types of self-motion, colleagues in the Reiser lab and I showed that this cell-type - named Lobula Plate Columnar 1 (LPC1) - is required for the stopping behavior of walking flies caused by back-to-front translation motion but is not involved in the rotational optomotor response. Using calcium imaging, I found that LPC1 was selectively excited by back-to-front motion on the eye ipsilateral to the neuron population and inhibited by front-to-back motion on the contralateral eye, demonstrating a simple mechanism for its selectivity to translation over rotation. I also examined an anatomically similar cell type - named Lobula-Lobula Plate Columnar type 1 (LLPC1) - and found that its selectivity results from a similar but opposite calculation for the detection of front-to-back translational motion. The detection of back-to-front motion had previously been hypothesized to be useful for collision avoidance, and this work provides a neural mechanism for how this detection could be accomplished, as well as providing a platform from which to explore the larger network for translation optic flow.

Studiens syfte är att belysa hur speciallärare med specialisering mot utvecklingsstörning lyfter fram metoder som gynnar kommunikationsutveckling för elever på särskolan. Vidare belyses vilka sociala sammanhang och verktyg som används för att främja kommunikationen för elever i särskolan. I studien tolkas resultatet ur det sociokulturella perspektivet där artefakter, kultur och den närmaste utvecklingszonen är de centrala begrepp som används i tolkningen. En hermeneutisk ansats används i studien och kvalitativa intervjuer av semistrukturerad karaktär genomfördes med åtta speciallärare, verksamma inom grund- och gymnasiesärskolor runt om i Sverige. En förhoppning var att studien skulle ge aha-upplevelser gällande hur lärare kan arbeta med kommunikation samt ge oss en större verktygslåda i vår profession som speciallärare. Resultatet presenteras i kategorier som framkommit vid analys av empirin. Resultatet visar att kommunikation inom särskolan innefattar många olika artefakter, och de artefakter som används mest är bilder och tecken. Kulturer som förekommer för att gynna kommunikationsutvecklingen för elever på särskolan är läsande och spela spel för att eleverna ska kunna bli så självständiga som möjligt. För de på tidig utvecklingsnivå lyfts imitation som centralt för att utveckla kommunikationen. I studien framkommer att både speciallärare och elever behöver stöttning i den närmaste utvecklingszonen vad det gäller kommunikation. Miljöerna är kommunikativt tillgängliga men dock endast på individ och gruppnivå och inte på organisationsnivå. / The purpose of the study is to shed light on how special education teachers with a focus on developmental disabilities, to highlight methods that benefit communication development for students at the special school. Furthermore, the social contexts and tools that are used to promote communication for students in special schools are highlighted. The study interprets the results from the socio-cultural perspective where artifacts, culture and the immediate development zone are the central concepts used in the interpretation. A hermeneutic approach is used in the study and qualitative interviews of a semi-structured nature were conducted with eight special teachers, active in primary and secondary special schools around Sweden. One hope was that the study would provide aha-experiences regarding how teachers can work with communication and give us a larger toolbox in our profession as special teachers. The results are presented in categories that emerged from the analysis of the empirical data.The results show that communication within the special school includes many different artifacts, and the artifacts that are used most are images and signs. Cultures that exist to promote communication development for students at the special school are reading and playing games so that the students can become as independent as possible. For those at an early stage of development, imitation is emphasized as central to developing communication. The study shows that both special needs teachers and students need support in the immediate development zone when it comes to communication. The environments are communicatively accessible, but only at the individual and group level and not at the organizational level.

Managing communication to strengthen educator-parent partnerships at selected public secondary schools in the Umbumbulu Circuit, KwaZulu-NatalSibisi, Rudolph Ntuthuko 02 1900 (has links)
National legislation such as South African Schools Act, No. 84 of 1996 introduced important reforms impacting on school and parent communication. It mandated the establishment of school governing bodies in all schools to ensure that parents participate in their schools and to open an effective way of communication between educators and parents. However, the literature study established that in some schools, mostly the historically disadvantaged black schools, communication between educators and parents is still very poor and mostly ineffective.
This study examined the role of the school principals in managing effective communication between educators and parents at schools to ensure that effective partnerships between educators and parents are achieved.
A qualitative investigation in two public secondary schools in the Umbumbulu Circuit, KwaZulu-Natal was done. Data were gathered by means of in-depth interviews with the principals of each school, and focus group interviews with the educators and parents of each school and document analysis.
The findings revealed the following: relationship between educators and parents is still very poor in some schools, the communication between educators and parents is still ineffective, there is still a lack of parental involvement in some schools, and most schools do not have policies on effective management of communication and comprehensive programmes on parental involvement.
The study recommends that principals need to be empowered to effectively manage communication in their schools to ensure effective partnerships between educators and parents, and schools should design their own training programmes conducted by principals or specialists for parents on the importance of parental involvement in the education of their children. / Educational Leadership and Management / M.
