R. Br]: ADR-500, ADR 7020 and LABH 70732, in doses of N: (0, 50, 100 and 200 kg ha-1), cut at 87 days of vegetative growth, aiming to the silage production. The experimental design used randomized blocks in a 3x4 factorial design (three cultivars and four doses of N), with four replications. Regarding biomass, only the green mass production (MV) showed interactions between N and millet cultivars, ranging from 30.54 to 50.96 t ha-1 of MV. The dry mass production (P>0.05) showed interaction only amongst the N dose, ranging from 7.66 to 12.46 t ha-1. The conversion efficiency of N (ECAN) and apparent recovery of N (NRE) differed (P<0,05) among the doses and the millet cultivars, with decreasing average values due to the increase of nitrogen fertilization. The best conversion efficiency was 54.06 kg DM / kg of N applied, while the highest N recovery rate was 86.54%, both at equivalent dose of the application of 50 kg.ha-1 of N. Among the millet cultivars, significant statistical differences have been observed on the nitrogen contained in the plant in unfertilized plots, ranging from 103.64 kg ha-1 (ADR 500) to 135.69 kg ha-1 (LABH 70732). In fertilized plots cultivars (P>0.05) in NC levels. The ECAN and NRE (P<0.05) among the millet cultivars with average values of 43.34 kg DM / kg of N applied (ADR 500) and 78.76% of N recovered, also with the same cultivar. The variable components of the chemical composition did not differ due to the evaluated N doses, with the average values of: DM - 25.40%; CP - 9.54%; NDF - 62.5%; ADF - 34.13%; HEM - 28.35%; CEL - 29.29%; LIG - 6.68%;NFC - 17.32%, OM - MM and 90.75% - 9.22%.

Furlan, Joyce de Jesus Mangini 11 August 2017 (has links)
The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of the use of aluminum sulfate, stocking density and nutritional strategies on productive, economic indexes and meat quality on poultry industry. Therefore, two experiments were conducted. Experiment I (EI) the aim of study was to evaluate the effects of aluminum sulfate doses [Al2(SO4)3·18H2O] - (0, 200, 400 e 600 g/m2) to treated poultry litter and bird densities (8 and 9 birds/m2). It was evaluated volatilized ammonia, pH values, dry matter and nitrogen content from poultry litter. Furthermore, it was evaluated live performance, carcass, breast, drumstick and thigh yield, prevalence of breast skin lesions and foot-pad dermatitis, and chicken meat quality (pH, color, shear force, cook loss and sensorial analysis). Experiment II (EII) aims evaluate the effects of aluminum sulfate to treat litter (0 or 1.568 g/m2), including phytase (1,000 FTU/kg of feed) in the diet and diets with low-crude protein (one percentage point of reduction). This study aims to evaluate the Microbiological Plate Counts on carcasses was evaluated and propose a method to value the manure in relation to its potential as fertilizer too. The economic analysis was also performed, considering the use of aluminum sulphate, phytase and diets with low-crude protein in the production of broiler chickens. The economic analysis the marketing margin increased when the density was 9/m2 because the sold broilers weight was higher. (EI) Aluminum sulfate doses and the stocking density influence poultry litter characteristics, lowering the pH values and reducing the amount of volatilized ammonia. The best dose of aluminum sulphate was 400 g/m2 regardless of the density adopted. The use of aluminum sulfate doses evaluated did not influence the broiler performance, which was negatively affected by the increase in the density. A significant effect of the interaction (P = 0.0094) was verified for carcass yield. The affective test showed that aluminum sulfate didnt influence consumers acceptability for chicken meat. The economic analysis showed that the contribution margin increased when the stocking was 9 birds/m2 since the lot weight is higher. (EII) Application of alum to the litter lowered pH values and consequently ammonia volatilization, moreover the low crude protein and phytase reduced this traits too. Aluminum sulfate (1.568 g/m2) reduces ammonia emissions and consequently nitrogen losses from litter. Valuing poultry manure as organic fertilizer allows the better decision in relation to the quantity to be applied to the crop, promoting economic and environmental benefits. It was concluded that the inclusion of phytase (1,000 FTU/kg of feed), influences chicken meat color characteristics, and improved meat tenderness in the perception of untrained panelists. The use of 1,568 grams of aluminum sulphate per m2 decreased the marketing margin, inflating production costs. In addition, it can be concluded that different nutritional strategies did not present differences in the margins of commercialization, indicating the economic feasibility in the use of nutritional tools to maintain the environmental impact of poultry production.

Gut microbiome analysis in piglet models infected with Escherchia coli K88: the role of charcoal and dietary crude protein supplemented with probiotic Escherchia coli strains UM2 and UM7.

Meshkibaf, Shahab 08 September 2011 (has links)
Entrotoxigenic Escherichia coli (ETEC) K88 is a causative agent of post-weaning diarrhea (PWD) in early-weaned pigs. This study investigated the efficacy of two alternative diets, charcoal (0.1, 0.5, 1, and 2%) and a low crude protein (CP) diet (17%) supplemented with probiotic E. coli strains (UM2 and UM7), against PWD infection in ETEC K88 challenged piglets. The present study found that charcoal had no effect on the challenged piglets’ performance, ileal and colonic microbiota or their fermentation end products. There was, however, a correlation between charcoal dosage and fecal consistency score. Charcoal reduced the ileal mucosal attached ETEC K88. Feeding a low-CP diet resulted in a lower ileal ammonia concentration. The low-CP diet reduced the E. coli populations in the ileal digesta as well as lowered mRNA expression of the IL-1ß. We concluded that the use of both 1-2% charcoal diet and a low-CP diet supplemented with probiotic E. coli strains were effective in reducing the incidence and severity of PWD infection.

For the second experiment, three hundred and ninety quails, Coturnix coturnix, the LF1 strain, male and female, were distributed in a completely randomized design, with five treatments and six repetitions with thirteen birds each. Experimental phases were divided into initial phase (8 to 21 days) and growing phase (22 to 35 days of age). The replacement levels of feed protein by crambe meal protein were 0, 3, 6, 9 and 12%. For the first experiment AME, AMEn and AMCGE values were 2445.58 kcal, 2197.29 kcal and 51.97%, respectively, to feed test T2. To feed test T3, was obtained for AME, AMEn and AMCGE values of 1772.18 kcal, 1592.25 kcal and 37.66%, respectively. For the second experiment there were no significant differences by dietary crude protein replacing part by crambe meal protein on the quails performance in the initial and growing phases. It is recommended to replace part of the feed protein at level 12% of crambe meal, not influencing negatively the meat quails performance. For the profitability analysis the replacement level of 6% crambe meal have better results.

Charakteristika frakcí dusíkatých látek ve výživě přežvýkavců / Characteristics of crude protein fractions in ruminant nutrition

KOUKOLOVÁ, Marie January 2012 (has links)
Physiology of nutrition and feeding of farm animals is an essential factor influencing production efficiency and its quality. For these factors is important to provide optimal supply of nutrients by suitable feeds. Felicitous feed ration raise the economic realization of genetic potential of animals. Therefore we have to know the nutritional requirements of animals, including microorganisms, whose function in the diet of cattle is irreplaceable. The aim of this study was to determine the nutritional value of forage and lupine feeds (n = 8) by laboratory methods. Samples were analyzed for individual feed nutrients (crude protein (CP), fat, crude fiber, ash, neutral detergent fiber (NDF), acid detergent fiber (ADF), acid detergent lignin (ADL)), gross energy and nitrogen fractions, and the results were statistically processed. Determination of individual nitrogen fractions was according to methods of Licitra et al. (1996). For this purpose were used following laboratory methods: (1) determination of non-protein nitrogen (NPN) (2), determination of soluble nitrogen and protein, (3) determination of nitrogen insoluble in acid detergent (ADIP), (4) determination of nitrogen insoluble in neutral detergent (NDIP). From these were obtained the results of NPN, IP (insoluble protein), SOLP (soluble protein), ADIP (nitrogen insoluble in acid detergent) and NDIP (insoluble nitrogen in neutral detergent). Averaged values (g.kg-1 of dry matter) of were 144.3 for NPN, 97.5 for IP, 78.7 for SOLP, 30.4 for ADIP and 80.3 for NDIP. Nitrogen fractions, i.e. fraction A (nonprotein nitrogen), fraction B1 (rapidly degraded protein), fraction B2 (intermediately degraded protein), fraction B3 (slowly degraded protein) and fraction C (bound protein) were calculated by equations of Ghoorchi and Arbabi (2010). The range of values was from 2.5 to 51.2 % of CP for fraction A, from 13.4 to 20.7 % of CP for fraction B1, from 0 to 19.9 % of CP for fraction B2, from 5.5 to 51.9 % of CP for fraction B3 and from 10.1 to 32.4 % of CP for fraction C.

O farelo de soja pode ser substituído com sucesso pela farinha de peixe, desde que os limites apresentados no presente (7,5% para a fase inicial e 5% para a fase de crescimento) trabalho sejam respeitados / One experiment was conducted to evaluate the use of fish meal on performance, carcass yield and sensory analysis in diets for broiler chickens formulated based on ideal protein in period from 1 to 42 days of age. It was used 960 one day old male broiler (Cobb) in a completely randomized experimental design consisted of five treatments with six replications of 32 chicks each, with a source of animal protein (fish meal) and four diets based on corn and soybean meal. The levels of crude protein (CP) used for the initial phase (1 – 21d) for the diet containing fish meal and four diets with corn and soybean meal were: 21.71% 21.85% 20.37% 18.87% and 17.35% CP, respectively. For the growth phase (22 – 42) in was used in the diet containing fish meal and the four diets based on corn and soybean meal, 19.1%, 19.1%, 17.7%, 16.2% and 14 , 6% CP, respectively. Data from performance were: gain weight, feed intake, feed conversion by the end of each period (1 – 42d) and productive efficiency, carcass, breast, wing, thing, drumstick, back yield and sensory analysis. Data were analyzed using SAS ® (SAS Institute, 2002) and the means for performance and carcass yield were compared by analysis of orthogonal and polynomials contrasts. For sensory analysis data were used the Tukey's test at 5% probability for the results that had a significant effect. Soybean meal can be successfully replaced by fish meal; provided that the limits set out in this work (7.5% for the initial phase and 5% for the growth phase) are respected

Twelve Holstein cows with average body weight (BW) of 570 kg, milk production (MP) of 13 kg/day were distributed in three 4x4 Latin squares. The feed consisted of 75% of corn silage and 25% of concentrate. Increased (P <0.05) linear in the intake of all components of the diet, except for total carbohydrates and non- fibrous carbohydrates (NFC), which decreased (P <0.05) linearly with the increase CP in the diet. The intake of total digestible nutrients (TDN) presented quadratic effect (P <0.05) with increase of CP, and estimated the maximum value of 10.13 kg / day at level of 15.62% of CP in the diet. The digestibility of CP, ether extract, neutral detergent fiber without and corrected for ash and protein increased (P <0.05) linearly with increases of CP. But the values for digestibility of dry matter, organic matter, NFC and TDN showed quadratic effect (P <0.05) with increases of CP, with an estimated point of maximum of 65.09, 67.23, 78.35 and 67.92 at leves of 15.39, 15.22, 12.62 and 15.68% CP, respectively. The MP, without and with correction to 3.5% fat (MPC), body weight variation and composition of the milk increased linearly (P <0.05) as function of the leves of CP, except for lactose which had no effect. The efficiency of nitrogen compounds in milk (kg milk N/kg N intake) presented quadratic effect (P <0.05) estimated the minimum value of 0.21 at the level of 15.57% CP. The excretions of purine derivatives in urine and protein production, urine volume and concentration of urea in milk and blood plasma increased (P <0.05) linearly with increase the CP. However, the excretion of urea nitrogen in urine showed a quadratic effect (P <0.05), estimated minimum value of 16.27 at the level of 9.08% CP. The balance of nitrogen increased (P <0.05) linearly with the level of CP, BN is estimated to be zero in the level of 11.59% CP. The level of 14% CP in the diet is more suitable for feeding to cows with average production of 13kg/dia milk.
