[EN] This thesis focuses on sound in times of disruptive changes operated by technologies and their impact on globalised social, cultural, political and scientific systems. The conceptualised Industry 4.0 accelerates the process of digitisation and automation at great speed and on all spheres, activating new human-machine, machine-machine relationships; cities, the generalised models of life, gather a large part of social activity and the dumping of technological processes, the physical-digital hybridisation promoted by ubiquity. It is no longer about the portability of sound or its reproduction, the change is takes place by the colonisation of our time and space, the infinite connectivity that mediates all our transactions, events and the perception of places; embodiment actions with devices that become quasi-transparent (Ihde, 2015), the transformation into cyborgs by temporarily adding our bodies to adapt to a new environment (Case, 2018); the syndrome of continued partial attention (Stone, 2014) that keeps us in a state of alert, or the time that, according to Foucault, is managed as a device for culture and the result of power relations.
From the eyes of art and its practical side, the study offers a reading of the city and the digital media through its sounds, an approach that seeks to decipher the nature of a territory, find traces of singularity or homogeneity, the harmony with the environments, and also the thought of the disruptive. The research is expressed through sound and visual proposals, symbolic and perceptual cartographies, blended with hybrid methodologies of interdisciplinary theoretical-practical study, in an open and fluid experimentation process that is based on the re-use or instantiation of media, materials and concepts so that they can shed ideas, unforeseen readings or activate critical and aesthetic thinking. / Rodríguez López, R. Exploring the Dimensions of the Learning Organization Questionnaire (DLOQ) for Startup Learning EnvironmentsMorris, Mark Orlando 07 1900 (has links)
Although the Dimensions of the Learning Organization Questionnaire (DLOQ) has been widely accepted by the HRD community, it has not been tested in a startup context for reliability. The purpose of the current study is to explore if the DLOQ is a reliable instrument for startups to help them be more successful. The current study seeks to address some of the questions, which have been posed by previous researchers. The study utilizes a mixed-method design applying Cronbach alpha values to check the reliability of the instrument in a startup learning environment, with more than 600 participants and 42 startup businesses at a university in the Mountain West. The study uses objective financial measures for startup firms to explore the correlation between the seven dimensions of the DLOQ and startup companies at the university. Cronbach alphas for the instrument measured at the .80 level or higher. Four of the dimensions were found to be statistically significant resulting in a model that accounted for 30% of the variance in predicted Operating Income (p<.004) and 29% of the variances in predicted Net Income (p<.003). The study also uses qualitative analysis to explore what activities relate to the seven dimensions of the DLOQ, and if those activities would be considered complex and disruptive. Thirteen activity clusters were identified and found to be relevant to startups and the seven dimensions of the DLOQ.

Continuing the Work of Our Ancestors: Black Radical Leadership and Disruptive Pedagogies in Affirming the Well-being of Black StudentsFoster, Marquita Delorse 05 1900 (has links)
Using Black feminist thought and BlackCrit/critical race theory frameworks, this qualitative study examined Black educators' practices in addressing the behavior of their students in an urban school district. It utilized counternarratives and storytelling to explore the cultural dynamics at play between Black educators and their Black students. The Black educators in this study operated under several behavior systems, including positive behavioral interventions and supports (PBIS), socio-emotional learning (SEL), restorative practices (RPs), and zero tolerance policies (ZTPs). Such systems have been implemented based on research that they have the capacity to train Black students to make appropriate decisions regarding their behavior. These systems are also reinforced under the notion that they create learning spaces which promote academic achievement. Due to their own experiences and understanding about how institutional practices and disciplinary interventions result disproportionately in oppression and violence against Black students, these educators disrupted these practices and utilized cultural approaches that centered Black-ness. In doing so, they were able to address behavior and affirm Black students' well-being. The cultural approaches conceptualized as disruptive pedagogies include aspects of othermothering, otherfathering, critical caring, sermonizing, womanist caring, and Black masculine caring. An analysis of the stories and counternarratives illustrated that Black principals, counselors, and teachers draw from the long tradition of Black resistance and Black radical leadership to create educational spaces that support both emotional well-being and academic excellence. Implications, recommendations and future research are discussed.

An investigation of behaviour management strategies on learners with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder in the classroomWulfsohn, Renee 12 1900 (has links)
Learners with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) traditionally display
disruptive and other associated negative behaviour in the classroom setting. Behaviour
management strategies utilised by the teacher in the school environment can assist in
reducing this type of behaviour that impacts negatively upon their academic performance.
This research study develops and investigates the effectiveness of a programme of
practical behaviour management strategies designed to reduce disruptive behaviour of
learners with ADHD in the classroom. / Educational Studies / M. Ed. (Educational Psychology)

Hu,Yu-Cheng Unknown Date (has links)
The research uses Roger’s diffusion of innovation theory to explore how magazines adopt an alternative new payment method to sale magazines-using 7-11 chain stores barcode method. A total of 68 valid questionnaires were collected. The results support our hypotheses that the relationships exist between technology characteristics of the new payment method and the adoption; second, the organizational size and types of the magazine affect the adoption. The research suggests that future research consider using Christensen’s desruptive innovation theory to examine innovative payment models, especially in the area of digital contents and e- classified.

Han,Henry Unknown Date (has links)
The continuous revenue growth is one of the utmost goals that every enterprise seeks. It is also one of the key factors to measure the operation efficiency of an enterprise. It is an alarming signal that the enterprise is encountering serious challenges whenever the sales growth stays slow or encounters a recession. In order to keep the revenue grow consistently, an enterprise needs to sustain its competitiveness and keep its ascendancy as its cutting edge strategy.
We can classify the growth engines into two categories: first, the internal growth engine which is contributed by new business, new products, and new orders; second, the external growth engine which is contributed by strategic alliances, M&A, and other investment opportunities. The enterprise usually gets a quantum jump on its business scale when a successful Merger & Acquisition is executed. The General Electric Co. and Cisco Co. cases are good examples of M&A. This probably explains why many companies place M&A and investment opportunity on high priority when setting growth strategies.
However, when an enterprise adopts strategic alliance, M&A or diversified investment, its success depends heavily on its abilities of goal setting, positioning, targeting of Alliance Company, doing due-diligence, and solving culture conflict.
This thesis investigates the strategic alliances and diversification investment between vertical market players, to focus on monistic industrial investment instead of cross industrial investment; reviews the company positioning strategy from the point of ascendancy competitiveness strategy; studies the execution of organization change between merger and merged companies and verifies the effectiveness of strategic alliances from the viewpoint of accumulated long term competitiveness advantages.
The thesis studies from theoretical research to the case study of Advantech Co. which applies the exploratory research method. The Advantech Co. conducted an alliance with Axiomtek Co. in 2002 by stock swap between the two companies. Advantech owns 65% of Axiomtek after the alliance. It is my purpose to assay the process of strategic alliance and try to provide some advices to improve the effectiveness of this strategy.
Conclusions can be summarized as follows
1. The strategic alliances or diversification investment between vertical market players can contribute less for cumulating the competitiveness if it is targeted to prevail by maximizing the production efficiency synergy.
2. A superior alliance strategy in vertical market is to analyze the market attributes and anchor the company positioning which helps the competitiveness accumulating for a player.
3. By implementing the disruptive innovation theory in market competition strategy, one company can develop alliance with a lower cost, 2nd tier or less functionality product provider to create the barrier for protecting attack from the disruptive competitors.
4. The resources, process and value are three scopes to judge whether two companies need be combined as one company or not. When those three measurements are formulating more advantages after combining based on mergers decision on companies positioning strategy, then, it should be combined as one company, otherwise vice versa.
5. The key success factors will be reformed accordingly if the acquirer re-positioning the company. A correspondent organization change also is recommended to be implemented.

Richard, Johanne 10 1900 (has links)
Mother-child relationship has an influence on children’s development. This study aims
to verify if maternal sensitivity moderates the expression of a difficult temperament at 9
months, and if a secure or insecure attachment relationship with the mother moderates the development of disruptive behaviors in 24 month-old children. Data come from the study «La mère veille». The sample includes 96 teenage mothers (14-19 years old) recruited from two different resources: A specialized school for teenage mothers and a group home. Multiple regression analyses did not confirm the moderating role of maternal sensitivity in the expression of child difficult temperament at 9 months. Analyses nevertheless demonstrated a predictive relation between secure/insecure attachment and disruptive behaviors at 24 months: Children who had developed a secure attachment relationship with their mother were less likely to exhibit disruptive behaviors at 2 years. The current results did not support the hypothesis of a moderating role of attachment security.
