Dokumenthantering i Microsoft SharePoint 2010 : / Document Management in Microsoft SharePoint 2010Lahtinen, Joakim January 2012 (has links)
SharePoint is a large content and management system that is used by a vast number of businesses. Templates can be specified for different types of documents (called content types), which simplifies the creating of new documents for the end user. However, the system by which this is done today quickly becomes cumbersome and unmanageable when the number of templates that a business uses increases. In this thesis a solution to the problem is examined which is available on the Microsoft Codeplex site, a site for hosting open source projects. During the project the solution was examined in greater detail, and further developed into a prototype that HOW Solutions could use in future projects. The final result was a prototype that builds on the earlier solution which allows the user to specify a template hub, which is a site collection with libraries that supplies other libraries with templates. During the project another solution, which builds on the same solution, was found. It shows great promise and requires further investigation.

A Functional Framework for Content ManagementBroadbent, Robert Emer 16 June 2009 (has links) (PDF)
This thesis proposes a functional framework for content management. This framework provides concepts and vocabulary for analysis and description of content management systems. The framework is derived from an analysis of eight content management systems. It describes forty-five conceptual functions organized into five functional groups. The functionality derived from the analysis of the content management systems is described using the vocabulary provided by the functional framework. Coverage of the concepts in the existing systems is verified. The utility of the framework is validated through the creation of a prototype that implements sufficient functionality to support a set of specific use cases.

Previous issue date: 2011-11-21 / Não Informada / This paper has developed a tool whose operation is performed based on data from a document management
system, designed with the purpose of tracking, recording, control and retrieve information and documents within
the General Secretariat of the Councils of the Federal University of Amazonas. Finished with the evaluation of
the search tool, the Data Dictionary, which integrates with document management system, identified as SGD /
SECONS. The theoretical framework is based on the literature on information systems, knowledge management,
document information technology to optimize dynamic support for the activities developed there. Was employed
as instruments of direct observation of activities in the sector, meetings with the employees effected and
documentary research in primary and secondary documents existing in the Secretariat of the Councils of the
UFAM, some produced there, and others received in the industry searched for treatment and transformation into
products that are used for the purpose of demarcating the legal functioning of the institution, trainers of domestic
legislation. Production information require storage, location and safe recovery and agile in order to provide legal
support to managers in decision making and the university community in general. For the mapping and recording
system requirements were identified, considering the experiences of internal servers that contributed to the
construction of the model developed tool to search and capture of information. The system was evaluated at four
different times with different complexities, and the results stated and proved its effectiveness and efficiency,
ensuring timely and reliable answers to managers UFAM, besides the possibility of replication of the system and
the tool in other sectors function similar to the SECONS, such as the Chambers of the Dean, Academic
departments and other units. The results after evaluations confirmed the success of the tool as well as the manual
model adopted to manage information and processes. It was suggested the future possibility of increasing the
system by automating it, offering the customer, plus the ability to track the processing of a process that is of
interest for trial in the Councils, the supply of legislation that, provided in the web portal UFAM without the
need to directly drive SECONS to obtain the desired document. Thus, it is proposed as suggestions for future
work the development of software by the Institute of Computing face of positive findings and confirmed by research.

Paperspace : a novel approach to document management by combining paper and digital documentsSallam, Samer 20 November 2006
Personal document management systems provide good support for storing and organizing digital documents. However, there are no computer tools that support organization of paper documents on our desks. We ran a study of people's organization of their office desk space with respect to their digital workspace. This study resulted in a set of requirements for a media bridging tool. Based on these requirements, we built a prototype media bridging tool called PaperSpace that uses computer vision to link paper and digital documents. The system also tracks piles of paper documents on the real desktop, and links those papers to digital documents stored in the computer. Digital documents can be sorted and grouped according to the physical layout of the corresponding papers on the desk. The system automatically creates digital piles of documents in a simulated desktop that reflect the paper piles on the real desktop. The user can access valuable information through the system, such as printing statistics, location of a printed document on the desk, and past projects and their documents. A two week user evaluation of the system showed interesting usage scenarios and future trends for improving user interaction.

Ontologiebasierte Indexierung und Kontextualisierung multimedialer Dokumente für das persönliche Wissensmanagement / Ontology-based Indexing and Contextualization of Multimedia Documents for Personal Information ManagementMitschick, Annett 07 April 2010 (has links) (PDF)
Personal multimedia document management benefits from Semantic Web technologies and the application of ontologies. However, an ontology-based document management system has to meet a number of challenges regarding flexibility, soundness, and controllability of the semantic data model. The first part of the dissertation proposes necessary mechanisms for the semi-automatic modeling and maintenance of semantic document descriptions. The second part introduces a component-based, application-independent architecture which forms the basis for the development of innovative, semantic-driven solutions for personal document and information management.

The document management systems and the workflow management systems areas have been facing an impressive growth in the last years, driven by the desire to achieve important organizational benefits, as an increased information sharing and more efficient processes. Since most business processes involve document manipulation, it is often needed that these systems work together. However, most products are integrated in a proprietary way, therefore reducing user's freedom of choice, increasing the difficulty of legacy systems integration and rising the dependency from product vendors. In order to overcome this problem, this work proposes an open architecture for document management systems and workflow management systems integration. The architecture's fundamentals is the usage of two emerging industry standards: DMA, proposed by AIIM, and WAPI, proposed by WfMC. DMA consists of an API, to be invoked by client document applications, of an SPI, to be implemented and offered by document management systems, and of a middleware, responsible for connecting clients to document servers. WAPI consists of a standard process definition language and of an API, to be invoked by workflow client applications and implemented by workflow management systems. The proposed architecture is composed by three elements. First, an integrated mechanism for document and workflow modeling is defined. Therefore, it is possible to define which documents will be used in the process, and which operations each workflow participant will be allowed to execute over them. This approach is based exclusively on DMA and WAPI standards. Second, it is defined an implemented a software module called services layer, offering integrated document management and workflow management services, using the Java language. This layer's methods invoke the WAPI's and DMA's methods necessary for their execution. Therefore, any DMAcompliant DMS can be integrated to any WAPI-compliant WFMS, in a totally transparent way. Finally, a client application to access services layer's methods and offer the user a graphical interface is developed, also using the Java language. The results demonstrate the viability of an open integration between document management systems and workflow management systems. They also show the importance of an integrated document and workflow modeling.
