Juříčková, Eliška January 2021 (has links)
The diploma thesis deals with the issue of adult education in Mexico with an emphasis on the fight against illiteracy. The aim of this thesis is to provide a comprehensive picture of the forms of adult education in Mexico and to analyze its specific aspects and contexts. First, it focuses on the forms of adult education in the Latin American region, and then in Mexico itself. The historical context of adult education in Mexico and the current literacy efforts of the Mexican government and selected international actors are presented. Considerable attention is paid to the issue of illiteracy, its characteristics and the ways in which Mexican society copes with it. The merits of UNESCO and OECD in the fight against illiteracy are also highlighted. Then the Mexican education system, the most famous educational program for adult education and the legislative anchoring of adult education, are introduced. The role of the government's "Instituto Nacional para la Educación de los Adultos", which covers adult education services in the country, is not omitted either. Other topics and problems related to adult education are also discussed, such as educational backwardness, functional illiteracy, lifelong learning, etc. Finally, all knowledge about adult education in the country is summarized, put into context...

Escuela Peruana de Buenas Prácticas

Laureano Bustamante, Yanina, Mandujano Salas, Yampierr Paolo, Rosales Mendoza, Luz Alejandra, Sicche Ynga, Johanna Judith 22 February 2021 (has links)
Peruvian School of Good Practices is a business project that consists of the training and development of soft skills such as empathy, verbal and non-verbal communication, adaptation to changes, among others. We believe that it is important to be able to manage these techniques to solve problems, learn to work as a team, be a leader, reduce the level of stress and other aspects that help the development of a training that encourages the student because, in Peru, the educational system is only focused on basic subjects such as mathematics, communication, science, among other courses. However, in recent years the importance of teaching soft skills for assertive decision making has been demonstrated both in personal and professional life. Faced with this situation, in the Peruvian educational sector there are few preparation centers dedicated to the development of these courses with a different proposal. In this sense, this business project seeks to cover this need with a value proposition that lies in a specialized center that will be in charge of developing soft skills in children and adolescents with long-term teachers. The Peruvian School of Good Practices will have as a source of income the payment of parents who enroll their children, for which we will go to all private primary and secondary education centers, supporting ourselves in campaigns that allow us to show our proposal of value. / Trabajo de investigación

Matematik, ett huvudämne, viljan och oviljan till det : Vilka faktorer påverkar grundskoleelevers motivation att lära sig matematik? / Mathematics, a major subject, the likes and dislikes of it

Khazaiee, Alyeh January 2023 (has links)
This study is a literature study with the aim of investigating which factors influence elementary school students' motivation to learn mathematics in order to achieve the goals according to the curriculum. A positive experience of mathematics can increase the student's desire, will and motivation for mathematics. On the other hand, if the student has a negative attitude towards mathematics and lacks the prerequisites that can motivate the student in mathematics, it can have a negative effect on mathematics performance throughout the student's school period. Should everyone become a mathematician? Should everyone be interested in math? The answer is definitely no, but why is so much emphasis placed on learning mathematics in school? The reason is that we live in a time where the need to have mathematical skills is more important than ever. Mathematics is also one of the main subjects in school and the student may need knowledge and a good grade in mathematics to continue their studies to a higher level. This study tries to identify and examine the factors such as the influence of the teacher and his teaching methods, shortcomings in the education system, the background and language proficiency of the student, especially the mathematical language and the degree of parental help they receive at home. The purpose of this study is to investigate which factors influence primary school students' motivation to learn mathematics. The literature study has been carried out by selecting two parts: 1) systematic review and 2) thematic analysis. This study also presents a table that contains a summary of various selected sources that are related to the question. In the conclusion, the question is answered that there are several factors that are effective in motivating the student to learn mathematics, where a few of them play a more important role. Among other things, I have found in my study that the most important factors are hiring trained and competent teachers, the role of the teacher, leadership and discipline and the use of modern and advanced methods in teaching mathematics. The study also shows that it is important that the teacher uses varying methods, both practical and theoretical methods in his teaching and regular feedback to the student. Assessment from teacher to student as well as parents' participation and awareness of their child's progress and development are also important. The study has also concluded that in order to feel motivated, it is important for the student to master the Swedish language and more specifically the mathematical language. Other important factors for creating motivation in the student are that teachers use digital tools in their teaching and that both the school and classroom environment are calm and feel positive.

Securing futures by bridging the gap in online safety education for youth

Iradat, Sonia January 2024 (has links)
This thesis investigates the integration of cybersecurity education in Swedish middle schools, highlighting the need to enhance current educational frameworks to address the increasing cybersecurity threats faced by young students. Employing qualitative methods, interviews were conducted with school principals, assistant principals, and IT teachers across Sweden to gather insights into the challenges of embedding effective cybersecurity practices in school curricula. The findings reveal substantial gaps in the consistency and depth of cybersecurity education, with significant discrepancies in curricular content and teacher training across schools. While some educational institutions have initiated steps toward incorporating cybersecurity topics, there remains a lack of a standardized curriculum that can be uniformly implemented across all schools. The study underscores the urgent need for comprehensive guidelines and resources to support schools in delivering effective cybersecurity education. It suggests that future efforts should focus on developing standardized curricula, enhancing teacher training, and fostering broader stakeholder engagement to ensure that students are equipped with necessary digital safety skills. This research contributes valuable perspectives to the ongoing discourse on digital literacy and cybersecurity, proposing strategic directions for policy and educational development to safeguard future digital citizens.

An Exploratory Study of the Impact of COVID-19 on the Cyberpsychology of the K12 Student Support Ecosystem

Howard, Erin Linette 05 1900 (has links)
This dissertation explores how student support services (SSS) within the K-12 ecosystem's relationship with technology, or cyberpsychology, has been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic grounded in the ecological systems theory (EST) framework. The first article investigated professional school counselors' use of technology for communication to meet student needs while upholding the American School Counseling Association's (ASCA) high ethical standards. The study examined how professional school counselors navigated using technology for communication amidst school closures during the COVID-19 pandemic. The second article explored the learning experiences of emergent bilingual (EB) educators in virtual settings. This study gained insight into the unique experiences of EB educators during and after COVID-19 working with students in virtual learning environments. The third article took a more personal approach by conducting individual interviews to gain insight into the challenges in technology use by the K-12 student support services (SSS) ecosystem throughout the pandemic. Participants shared their celebrations and their struggles of their personal experiences with technology during and after the COVID-19 pandemic. A story is found in these works as the three manuscripts come together to illustrate the impact of the pandemic on the cyberpsychology of the K-12 SSS ecosystem, nested in the overarching K-12 ecosystem.

Onderwysvoorsiening aan akademies-begaafde leerders in die intermediêre skoolfase in Suid-Afrika / Mindie Barkhuizen

Barkhuizen, Mindie January 2013 (has links)
The goal of this research was to determine how to productively provide in the unique needs of academically gifted learners in the intermediate phase in the South African education system. The study comprised an empirical, qualitative investigation to this end. Individual interviews with primary school principals and focus groups with primary school teachers, academically gifted learners in the intermediate phase and parents served to determine what the educational needs of academically gifted children are. Secondly, a mini-education system for academically gifted learners was planned and a programme for academically gifted learners was developed within this mini-education system. The information for the development of the programme was gathered from the interviews and focus groups. The paradigm that forms the foundation of this research includes elements of a Christian world view and is complemented by elements of interpretivism, constructivism, pragmatism and post-modernism. The literature study on academically gifted learners revealed that these learners possess their own unique characteristics. Although academically gifted, these learners experience many cognitive, social and affective problems in the current education system. The structure of the education system, educational productivity and self-managed and interactive learning as teaching strategy were highlighted as internal determinants of an educative nature that influence academically gifted learners. The current condition of gifted education in South Africa and on an international level form the internal determinants of historical nature. If education to gifted learners, and specifically academically gifted learners, in South Africa is compared to other countries, it is clear that there are still many gaps in the education system. The main external determinants that influence educational provision to academically gifted learners include the demography of academically gifted learners, the economic environment of academically gifted learners, science and technology, the role of politics in the educational provision to academically gifted learners and the co-workers and competitors in the educational provision to academically gifted learners. The number of learners is increasing and that means that the need for educational provision to academically gifted learners is increasing. A distance-based programme is ideal, as academically gifted learners are scattered across our country. The main goal of this study was to plan a mini-education system that will provide in the unique needs of academically gifted learners in the intermediate phase in an educationally productive way in South Africa. The framework for the strategic planning of a mini-education system was used as research method. An achievable, sustainable and affordable distance-based educational programme for academically gifted learners was planned and a grade 4 pilot module developed within this mini-education system. The findings of this study suggest that the framework for the strategic planning of a mini-education system can be successfully used in planning a system that can effectively provide in the needs of academically gifted learners in the intermediate phase. From the interviews and focus group it was also clear that there is a need for educational programmes intended for academically gifted learners and that these programmes can be successfully implemented at schools. / MEd (Comparative Education), North-West University, Potchefstroom Campus, 2014

Beletrizace dějin ve výuce dějepisu / Fictionalization of History in History Teaching

Knitlová, Hana January 2012 (has links)
99 Summary The topic of this Diploma thesis focuses on Fictionalization of History in History Teaching. This area is closely connected with Eduard Štorch. Eduard Štorch was an amateur archaeologist, a very good writer and an undervalued teacher. Based on topics which he drew from a variety of archaeological research projects he created and wrote adventure stories which can be classified as somewhere between fiction and popular science stories in which he described oldest periods of Czech history. His books are still recognised today as the very best of their kind and they have been translated into a number of foreign languages. As a teacher, Štorch did his utmost to improve children's education. At his own expense and almost single-handedly he built a "Children's Farm" on Libeňský ostrov in Prague. It was meant as a place for educating children not only inside a classroom but also in the middle of nature. Children from other schools in Prague were encouraged to use the outdoors facilities there in their free time as well. Eduard Štorch tried to promote and enforce changes in the teaching of all school subjects but concentrated on the teaching of history. For this purpose he published several books such as "The Reform of the History Taught at Schools" (Reforma školního dějepisu; 1905), "The New History"...
