[en] PAIN AND PLEASURE AT THE MUSICAL PRACTICE / [pt] DOR E PRAZER NA PRÁTICA MUSICALRODRIGO ALCANTARA DE SOUZA 22 October 2013 (has links)
tratando do estado de flow e da cultura da dedicação presente no meio musical;
respeito do tema tratado.
[en] Despite being a little divulged issue both publicly and within the musical
class, is high the number of musicians who suffer from pains, discomforts and
even injuries and other health problems associated with the musical activity.
About this, have been observed in recent decades, a growing interest from
researchers, especially in the health area, which means there is already a
considerable literature on the subject. However, there are still many knowledge
gaps that need to be filled in order to make the musical practice (professional or
not) less harmful.This study, which has an exploratory character, investigates
this issue with a sample of 39 instrumentalists from Manaus, emphasizing the
emotional aspects involved in the practice and how they can interfere in the
perception of the constraints of these individuals. One of the main points
discussed is that musical practice would be a favorable situation to occurrence
of flow state (CSIKSZENTMIHALYI, 1997) what could justify the fact that many
musicians don’t even realize the pain and injuries during the execution of the
activity. It was applied at these respondents an instrument of data collection
consisted on four parts: a questionnaire with general information about musical
practice and constraints; a process of ordination of cards containing
emotions/feelings involved in the practiced; a series of assessments scales
about the flow state and about the dedication culture that exists in the musical
environment; and a final interview seeking for more deeper opinions from
musicians about the issue. The collected data were crossed and analyzed and
the results indicate, among other conclusions, that musical practice from this
sample, has similar characteristics from other where flow state is found, and still
contain the importance of emotional matters in the practice, according to the
participants musicians.

Abuso sexual infantil : conseqüências cognitivas e emocionaisBorges, Jeane Lessinger January 2007 (has links)
The objective of this dissertation was to investigate the cognitive and emotional variables in girls, victims of child sexual abuse (CSA), observing relationships between CSA, Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and performance in cognitive functions. For that, three papers were organized, one theoretical paper and two empirical papers. The first study shows a theoretical review about relationships between CSA, PTSD and cognitive dysfunction. The second study evaluated the cognitive functioning (memory, attention and cognitive flexibility/executive function) in a group of girls (n=12), victims of CSA and their performance was compared with a control group (n=16). The third study investigated the presence of emotional and behavioral symptoms and CSA risk factors in the family in 16 girls, victims of CSA. A high manifestation of PTSD and high number of errors on concentrated visual attention test was observed in the group of victims of CSA, when was compared to the control group. These results highlight the importance of psychotherapeutic and neuropsychological interventions with this population.

[en] GRAMMAR OF LOVE: A STUDY OF COMMUNICATION ON THE REPRESENTATIONS AND EXPRESSION OF FEELING IN THE EMOTIONAL DISCOURSE OF YOUTH CULTURES / [pt] GRAMÁTICA DO AMOR: UM ESTUDO DA COMUNICAÇÃO SOBRE AS REPRESENTAÇÕES E A EXPRESSÃO DO SENTIMENTO NO DISCURSO EMOCIONAL DAS CULTURAS JUVENISJOAO VITOR RODRIGUES GONCALVES 05 May 2022 (has links)
afetividade mediada. / [en] Expressing love is also a language through which we communicate to others
and ourselves that which we are feeling. Oriented by the theoretical sociology
projects of Marcel Mauss and Gabriel Tarde, this thesis evinces the languages of
the grammar of love among young middle class women in the city of Rio de Janeiro,
considering such particular aspects to youth culture, as social representations that
circulate in media. Resorting Moscovici and his theory of social representations,
the emotional discourse is achieved by the interpretative analysis of content and
practices of ethnographic inspiration to indicate, through individual narratives, the
signs of stability and those of possible ruptures in the languages that they
appropriate at the beginning of the second decade of the 21st century. The evidence
of Gilberto Velho, Claudia Barcelos Rezende and Maria Cláudia Coelho and the
micropolitics of emotions are also extremely relevant, contributing to reveal the
languages presented at the conclusion of the research, including sentimental
expressiveness, the deromanticization of relationships and mediated affectivity.

[pt] OS CIRCUITOS AFETIVOS DAS NARRATIVAS E CONTRANARRATIVAS TRANSNACIONAIS DO HIV E DA AIDS / [en] THE AFFECTIVE CIRCUITS OF TRANSNATIONAL HIV AND AIDS NARRATIVES AND COUNTER-NARRATIVESGUSTAVO LUIZ FRISSO 18 October 2021 (has links)
[en] This master thesis seeks to understand the effects and affects generated by transnational narratives and counter-narratives of HIV and AIDS, based on exponents of the emotional turn in International Relations that are dedicated to the study of the circulation of emotions, and the production of affective economies, through narratives. Starting from the understanding that narratives constituted by figures of speech, such as metaphor and metonymy, are producers of affections or emotions that materialize the surfaces of individual and collective bodies, we will analyze two sets of HIV and AIDS narratives that since the 1980s have tried to make sense of the origin of the virus and the clinical condition. In the first set, we will explore how transnational narratives constituted by metaphors and metonyms such as gay plague, pink cancer – associated to the gay community, and the 5Hs risk group (homosexuals, heroin addicts, Haitians, hemophiliacs and hookers) proliferated, and along with them circulated emotions that produced border effects, estrangement, discrimination, and exclusion. In the second set, we will explore how another affective economy, driven by counter-narratives that seek to resignify HIV and AIDS narratives, is produced by LGBTQIA+ non-governmental organizations, UNAIDS, online blogs or social communities, cinematic works, or testimonies of HIV personalities. Appearing in a context marked by more concrete information about the infection and the appearance of more effective drugs for viral control, this affective economy fights against the sedimentation of negative emotions in people living with HIV and uses narrative strategies such as the application of new terms to explain HIV and AIDS, the disassociation of metonymic terms, implying that HIV is not AIDS and AIDS is not death, and of metaphoric terms, deconstructing the idea of gay plague or pink cancer. In an attempt to weave HIV and AIDS narratives with movements of contestation and resignification of the epidemic of
narratives, this research seeks to understand counter-narratives as urgent impositions of a new construction of what HIV and AIDS is that undoes border effects and produces possibilities of other affections, that bring together and connect.

profissionais. Para isso, analiso e interpreto a avaliação (LINDE, 1997;
2004; REZENDE; COELHO, 2010) em discursos (FOUCAULT, 1972;
vida (LINDE, 1997). Deve-se entender queer aqui como todo agir contra-hegemônico (BUTLER, 1999; CAMERON; KULICK, 2003; BORBA, 2015;
Alinhado a
pesquisa intenciona questionar discursos hegemônicos e cisheteronormativos,
orgulho. / [en] The objective of this research is to understand how emotions and interpersonal
relationships of a group of teachers are established when they reflect on their
queer performances in life trajectories, especially in professional practices. For
this, I analyze and interpret the evaluation (LINDE, 1997; THOMPSON;
HUNSTON, 2006; HUNSTON, 2011) and its relation with the discursive
construction of emotions (ABU-LUGHOD; LUTZ, 1990; AHMED, 2004;
REZENDE; COELHO, 2010) in discourses (FOUCAULT, 1972; PENNYCOOK,
2007; ROCHA, 2020) produced during exploratory conversations (NUNES, 2017)
with teachers of Primary Education regarding their queer performances in
pedagogical contexts. Pursuing the specific objectives of this research, I intend to
create understandings about evaluative discourses that highlight the emotions and
disputes of normative ideologies, besides analyzing the micropolitical character of
the emotions that arise in such conversations, some of which unfold in narratives
(BASTOS; BIAR, 2015) and life stories (LINDE, 1997). Queer must be
understood here as acting in a counter-hegemonic way (BUTLER, 1999;
CAMERON; KULICK, 2003; BORBA, 2015; BORBA, 2019; MOITA LOPES;
PINTO, 2020) and the different ways of manifesting gender, sexuality, and
affection in social spaces. Aligned with an autoethnographic methodology
(ELLIS; BOCHNER, 2000), I reflect and investigate both my life experiences in
relation to the theme of this dissertation, as well as bringing the voices of other
teachers who have recently entered the job market in order to better understand
our realities. Furthermore, since this research takes part in Queer Linguistics
(BORBA, 2019), it intends to question hegemonic and heteronormative
discourses, and follows the procedural logic of a qualitative-interpretive research
(DENZIN; LINCOLN, 2006). Data were analyzed from the observation of
evaluative lexicogrammatical instances and three different layers from the
narratives (BIAR et al, 2021): how the text is being constructed, how the
interaction takes place and what Discourses (GEE, 2001) are in action. For this
purpose, I divide the analysis into three topics: adolescence, the educational
institution and the relationship with the students. The results indicate different but
intersecting paths. It was possible to identify the emergence of mostly negative
evaluations concerning the behavior of others with the teachers who took part in
this research and predominantly positive evaluations when they spoke about
themselves. At the same time, I could observe emotions of a negative nature, such
as insecurity, fear and rejection, and of a positive nature, such as love, hope and
pride.

[pt] A CONSTRUÇÃO DISCURSIVA DE EMOÇÕES E CRENÇAS EM CONVERSAS EXPLORATÓRIAS / [en] THE DISCURSIVE CONSTRUCTION OF EMOTIONS AND BELIEFS IN EXPLORATORY CONVERSATIONSANNA CAROLINA JARDIM GERBASI 30 October 2023 (has links)
[en] Based on classroom experiences as an instructor during the COVID-19 pandemic, many challenges and frustrations regarding the teacher-student relationship were encountered. Teaching became a solitary task, as there was little student participation, and the principle of amorosidade (Freire, 1996), highly valued in classes, had scarce response. Thus, this dissertation aims to generate understandings regarding the affections and beliefs that emerge in the discursive constructions with my student-collaborator. To achieve this, I draw upon studies of emotions (Zembylas, 2003; 2015; Le Breton, 2009), evaluations (Linde, 1997), and beliefs (Barcelos, 2006; 2007) in light of the ethical-critical-reflexive principles of Exploratory Practice (Miller et al., 2008; Allwright; Hanks, 2009). This study is framed within a qualitative-interpretivist approach (Lincoln; GUBA, 2006) and aligns with the practitioner research paradigm (Allwright; Hanks, 2009), as the understandings were collaboratively constructed based on our beliefs and affections. Furthermore, this study also takes on an autoethnographic nature (Bochner; Ellis, Jones, 2016). The analyzed excerpts were constructed in exploratory conversations (Dias et al., 2021), recorded, and transcribed following conventions based on Conversation Analysis (Bastos; Biar, 2015). Partial understandings suggest the significant relevance of affective relationships for the teaching-learning process of the participants. It is possible to perceive that, for the collaborators, a pedagogical practice based on love (hooks, 2021), trust, care, responsibility, and dialogue (Freire, 2021) are essential to create an atmosphere conducive to learning.
