Vägen mot en hållbar verksamhet: att skapa miljöengagemang och forma nya normer - en fallstudie om Casino Cosmopol i Malmö

Flertalet företag och organisationer har börjat inse de fördelar som erhålls genom att engagera sig i hållbar utveckling och sträva mot en miljövänlig arbetsplats. Att få människor engagerade i miljöfrågor på olika sätt har överlag visat sig vara effektivt när det kommer till att påverka attityder och uppmuntra till miljövänligt beteende, likaså har sociala normer visat sig vara betydande när det kommer till att skapa miljöengagemang på arbetsplatser. Syftet med studien är att undersöka hur engagemang och nya normer kan skapas för miljövänliga handlingar på arbetsplatser. Studien avgränsas till Casino Cosmopol i Malmö, där en öppen enkätundersökning har genomförts. Företaget har under en tid arbetat med hållbarhetsfrågor men upplevde att de behövde stöttning och råd när det kom till att skapa miljöengagemang bland medarbetarna och därmed också driva deras miljöarbete framåt. Undersökningen vände sig till samtliga medarbetare inom företaget. Resultatet från enkätundersökningen visar att medarbetare anser att verksamheter och företag har ett stort ansvar när det kommer till miljöfrågor. Undersökningen visade också att kommunikationen inte alltid är tillräcklig mellan arbetsgivare och medarbetare för att miljövänligt beteende ska genomsyra hela verksamheten och för att miljöengagemang ska skapas. Medarbetarna efterfrågar tydlighet, mer kunskap om miljö och klimatfrågor. Resultatet visar också att medarbetarna efterlyser redovisning av de åtgärder som införts, arbetsgivare som är lojala och visar ett genuint engagemang. / Most companies and organisations have realized the benefits of engaging in sustainable development and striving for an environmentally friendly workplace. Getting people involved in environmental issues in different ways has generally proven to be effective when it comes to influencing attitudes and encouraging environmentally friendly behaviour, and social standards have also been found to be important when it comes to creating environmental engagement in workplaces. The purpose of the study is to investigate how commitment and new values can be created for environmentally friendly actions in workplaces. The study is limited to Casino Cosmopol in Malmö, where an open survey has been conducted. The company had for some time worked on sustainability issues but felt that they needed support and advice when it came to create environmental commitment among the employees and taking their environmental actions to the next level. The survey was addressed to all employees within the company. The results of the survey show that employees believe that businesses and companies have a great responsibility when it comes to environmental issues, but that communication between employer and employees is not always sufficient to ensure that environmentally friendly behaviour permeates the entire business and that environmental commitment is created. The employees demand clarity, more knowledge about the environment and climate issues. The result also shows that employees are demanding the effects of the measures that have been establish, employers who are loyal and show genuine commitment.

Elaboração e análise de uma metodologia de ensino voltada para as questões sócio-ambientais na formação de professores de química / Preparation and analysis of a teaching methodology focused on the socioenvironmental issues in chemistry teachers training.

A importância das questões sócio-ambientais vem crescendo rapidamente, sobretudo na elaboração de currículos de ciências, com conseqüências para a formação de professores. No entanto, atuar nessa perspectiva vai além da disponibilidade de materiais didáticos comprometidos com essa proposta, faz-se necessário formar professores capazes de utilizálos, dotados de visão multidisciplinar do corpo teórico específico de sua área de atuação e com condições de adotarem um modelo de ensino diferente do vivenciado por eles durante toda a sua vida escolar. As metas de uma formação comprometida com as questões sócioambientais envolvem não somente a apropriação do conhecimento científico tanto teórico quanto experimental, mas também o reconhecimento dos impactos ambientais envolvidos no ciclo de vida de produtos de consumo duráveis e não duráveis, e até mesmo o planejamento do ensino experimental contemplando formas de minimização dos impactos ambientais. Nossa pesquisa procurou tornar viável a avaliação da formação de professores de Química na perspectiva de um comprometimento com as questões sócio-ambientais. Para tanto acompanhamos a elaboração e aplicação de uma metodologia de ensino apoiada nos princípios da Química Verde e voltada para tais questões pela docente, e também pesquisadora da própria prática, de disciplinas da licenciatura em Química em uma Instituição de Ensino Superior particular no interior de São Paulo no período de 2005-2008. Tal acompanhamento nos permitiu estabelecer indicadores de comprometimento sócio-ambiental durante a evolução da elaboração dessa metodologia. Esses indicadores foram analisados sobre a perspectiva do amadurecimento do aparelho psíquico proposto por Melanie Klein e generalizados para propiciar a análise dos projetos de ensino, elaborados pelos licenciandos da turma de 2008, com ênfase para as questões sócio-ambientais na perspectiva CTS. Essa análise nos permitiu concluir sobre o nível de comprometimento dos licenciandos com essas questões. Analisamos também os efeitos da pesquisa sobre a própria prática, resultando em uma reflexão que permitiu tanto uma mudança do discurso da docente, como também uma evolução na relação professor/aluno, através da superação parcial tanto das limitações institucionais como pessoais. Essa evolução foi percebida através de análise de projetos de ensino, das participações dos alunos, dos artigos elaborados pela docente, da orientação de projetos de iniciação científica, desde 2005 até 2008. / The importance of socio-environmental issues is growing rapidly, especially in developing science curricula, with consequences for the teacher training. However, work in this perspective goes beyond the availability of materials involved in this proposal, it is necessary to train teachers to use them and having multidisciplinary view of the theoretical specific to your area of expertise and that could adopt a model education other than experienced by them throughout their school life. The goals of training committed to the socio-environmental issues not only involve the appropriation of scientific knowledge, both theoretical and experimental, but also a recognition of the environmental impacts involved in the life cycle of consumer durable and nondurable goods, and even planning of experimental teaching contemplating ways to minimize environmental impacts. Our research sought to make viable the evaluation of chemistry teachers training at the prospect of a commitment to the socio-environmental issues. To this end we follow the development and implementation of a teaching methodology supported the principles of green chemistry and attention to those issues by the teacher, researcher and also of the practice of disciplines in Teachers College in an Institution of higher education particularly in São Paulo in the period 2005-2008. Such monitoring has allowed us to establish indicators of socioenvironmental commitment during the course of developing this methodology. These indicators were analyzed from the perspective of maturation of the psychic apparatus proposed by Melanie Klein and generalized to provide an analysis of the teaching projects, prepared by students teachers of class of 2008, with emphasis on socio-environmental perspective STS. This analysis allowed us to conclude about the level of commitment to these issues by the teacher training student. We also analyzed the effects of own practice research, resulting in a reflection that enabled both a change in the discourse of teaching as well as developments in the teacher / student, in part by overcoming the limitations both institutional and personal. This process has been perceived through analysis of education projects, the participation of the students, the articles written by the teacher, the guidance of basic scientific research projects, from 2005 to 2008.

One tool to manage sustainability is green marketing; an approach through which companies can gain competitive advantage. But is it possible to influence the market structure by using green marketing and is it possible to make it difficult for new actors to enter the market? Purpose: The purpose of this research is to investigate how companies can use green marketing to create entry barriers. Delimitations: This thesis is delimited to investigate the work of creating entry barriers, not to measure the effect of it. Furthermore the empirical research only includes companies on the Swedish market. Method: To investigate how companies use green marketing in relation to entry barriers today a quantitative approach was used and an electronic questionnaire was conducted. Conclusion: For established companies to protect their position on the market it is important to not only concentrate on the barriers most commonly related to green marketing. Rather green companies can establish a wide spectrum of barriers related to green marketing in order to make it more difficult for new entrants to establish themselves. Suggestions for further research: The next step to make within the field of green marketing as a barrier to entry is to investigate the effect of the barriers examined in this research. It is also necessary to do industry specific researches to investigate if some barriers are more important for certain industries. Bakgrund: Som en del av den digitala utvecklingen har e-handeln vuxit med stormsteg de senaste åren. Parallellt med denna utveckling finns det ett växande fokus på miljömässig hållbarhet, vilket gör att e-handeln, ur miljösynpunkt, framstår som negativ. Leveranserna för de varor som köps på internet bidrar exempelvis till en stor mängd koldioxidutsläpp. Både företag och konsumenter delar därför ett ansvar att motverka negativ miljöpåverkan som en konsekvens av exempelvis konsumtion. Syfte: Syftet har varit att undersöka svenska e-handelskonsumenters val av och betalningsvilja för ett klimatkompenserat leveransalternativ. Hänsyn har även tagits till konsumenternas grad av miljöengagemang för att avgöra om det har en avgörande betydelse för relationen mellan valet av klimatkompenserat leveransalternativ och betalningsviljan. Tillsammans med syftet utformades fyra frågeställningar med tillhörande hypoteser. Metod: Tvärsnittsstudien omfattades av en enkätundersökning som genomfördes online. Urvalet har varit studenter och totalt samlades 195 användbara enkätsvar in. Regressionsanalyser, inklusive en multipel regressionsanalys med en moderator, har genomförts för att testa hypoteserna. Resultat: Resultatet gav stöd för samtliga hypoteser. 1) E-handelskonsumenter som väljer ett klimatkompenserat leveransalternativ har en större betalningsvilja för ett sådant leveransalternativ. 2) Miljöengagerade e-handelskonsumenter är mer benägna att välja ett klimatkompenserat leveransalternativ. 3) Miljöengagerade e-handelskonsumenter är mer benägna att betala för ett klimatkompenserat leveransalternativ. 4) Graden av miljöengagemang har en modererande effekt på relationen mellan e-handelskonsumenters val av ett klimatkompenserat leveransalternativ och betalningsviljan för ett sådant leveransalternativ. Slutsats och bidrag: Resultatet från studien har kunnat anknytas till teorier från tidigare forskning, där några av dessa berör lågkostnads-/högkostnadsmodellen, självkontrollkapacitet, ekoskuld samt moral licensing. Studien bidrar med insikter på relationen som miljöengagerade e-handelskonsumenter har till klimatkompenserade leveransalternativ. Det är tänkbart att resultatet kan användas av e-handelsföretag och distributörer när det kommer till hur de arbetar med hållbara leveransalternativ och vad som erbjuds e-handelskonsumenter. I och med att studiens resultat tyder på att e-handelskonsumenter, främst de som är miljöengagerade, är villiga att välja samt betala för att få ett klimatkompenserat leveransalternativ, är det därför viktigt att ett sådant alternativ går att välja. / Background: As part of digital development, e-commerce has grown very much the recent years. In parallel with this development, there is a growing focus on environmental sustainability, which makes e-commerce, from an environmental point of view, appear negative. For example, the deliveries of the goods purchased online contribute to a large amount of carbon dioxide emissions. Therefore, both companies and consumers share a responsibility to counteract negative environmental impacts as a consequence of, for example, consumption. Purpose: The purpose has been to examine Swedish e-commerce consumers' choice of and willingness to pay for a climate-compensated delivery option. Consideration has also been taken of consumers' degree of environmental commitment to determine whether it is of decisive importance for the relationship between the choice of climate-compensated delivery option and the willingness to pay. Together with the purpose, four research questions were formulated with associated hypotheses. Methodology: The study was conducted with an online survey. The sample was students and a total of 195 useful questionnaire responses were collected. Regression analyzes, including a multiple regression analysis with a moderator, were performed to test the hypotheses. Findings: The results provided support for all hypotheses. 1) E-commerce consumers who choose a climate-compensated delivery alternative have a greater willingness to pay for such a delivery alternative. 2) Environmentally committed e-commerce consumers are more likely to choose a climate-compensated delivery alternative. 3) Environmentally committed e-commerce consumers are more likely to pay for a climate-compensated delivery alternative. 4) The degree of environmental commitment has a moderating effect on the relationship between e-commerce consumers' choice of a climate-compensated delivery alternative and the willingness to pay for such a delivery option. Conclusion and contribution: The results from the study could be linked to theories from previous research, where some of these concern the low-cost / high-cost model, self-control capacity, eco-debt, and moral licensing. The study contributes insights into the relationship that environmentally committed e-commerce consumers have with climate-compensated delivery options. It is possible that the results can be used by e-commerce companies and distributors when it comes to how they work with sustainable delivery options and what is offered to e-commerce consumers. As the results of the study indicate that e-commerce consumers, mainly those who are environmentally committed, are willing to choose and pay for a climate-compensated delivery option, it is therefore important that such an alternative can be chosen.
