O sentido do exílio em \'La Peste\' de Albert Camus / The direction of exile in \'La peste\' by Albert Camus

Cristianne Aparecida de Brito Lameirinha 05 March 2007 (has links)
Exile is a recurring subject, though little explored, in Albert Camus. His work is organized in two creation phases: absurdity and rebellion. Even though situated by the author in the rebellion phase, this work proposes a new reading of La Peste, which allows seizing in only one text the thematic multiplicity of exile in Camus, characterizing it as a book of transition between these two concepts, with lucidity as their common feature. The absurd man thus perceives himself by means of the conscience he has of its universe. For the rebellious man, lucidity allows struggle. In La Peste, exile, under three aspects, physical-social, psychological and metaphysical, integrates the metaphysical human condition, in counterpoint to the historical condition, making it possible to understand its perspective, as well as the perspective of the kingdom, in this author.

Stefan Zweig et l'Histoire à travers la littérature : les rapports entre biographies historiques et l'Histoire / Stefan Zweig and History through Literature : the links between historical biographies and History

Lecorchey, Virginie 05 December 2018 (has links)
Stefan Zweig and History, Stefan Zweig and Human. The relationship between Zweig and History is in permanent correlation with the human being. The collective and the individual are linked in his works. His stories of life at the turn of the years 1920-1930, his works which mark a certain engagement after the arrival to power of Hitler or the story of his own life and of his world, after his exile: so many literary works that testify of the interest of Zweig for History and for his world. Zweig often identifies himself with the characters about whom he writes, finding in these characters similarities with his own person, or admiring the qualities of some, and envying the courage of others. The human qualities are more important to his eyes, the heroes could be of different nature; heroes aren't only those about whom the school books speak. The interest of Zweig for History is explained by his interest for the time in which he lives. However, Zweig regrets his own past and seems to search, in the characters of History, for a link with his lost world, the world of yesterday. Zweig says that he has had three lives. The last life ends in exile. But how is it possible to live away from our world, from our history, from our past?

Mahmoud Darwich, victime en quête d'identité / Mahmoud Darwich, a victim in search of its identity

Harb, Marwan 14 December 2018 (has links)
The Palestinian poet Mahmoud Darwish belongs to the interrogation of the victim, victim of the injustice perpetrated by others, and also, victim of his own defeat. The victim lives in an extra-ordinary situation, which disturbs its identity relationship with the world. Hence, the identity quest of the victim becomes the quest for the ordinary and the natural, that occurs as a problematic confronted by an individual who can not sufficiently interrogate his independent individuality. Throughout the ego-ecological approach that reconstructs the elementary frame of identity, we deducted the identity effects of Mahmoud Darwish's poetry, that allowed him to recreate his identity as a victim, and at the same time, contributed to the emergence of a collective Palestinian identity.

"Podmínky exilu: jazyk, text a historie u Libuše Moníkové a Milana Kundery" / "Conditions of exile: language, text and history in the work of Libuše Moníková and Milan Kundera"

Reuter, Magdalena Antonia January 2012 (has links)
This diploma thesis aims to demarcate the term "exile" and its conditions, further the thesis explores the impacts this experience has on a writer's work, especially the problem of writing in a foreign language and the character of translation. Concretely the present thesis is based on the literary work of Libuše Moníková and Milan Kundera. The first chapter examines the general research field in detail and the occurrence of related themes in the production of both authors. The following two chapters treat individual aspects of work created under the condition of exile - language and translation on the one hand, the correlations of text and history on the other. The findings of all analyses performed within this diploma thesis relate not only to the individual authors, but can be employed to specify and supplement the over-all picture of Czech literature of the second half of the 20th century, as the phenomenon of exile is essential for the understanding of this specific period. Keywords Literature in exile, Milan Kundera, Libuše Moníkové, Prague Spring, translation.

Nový přístup k československému pařížskému exilu v období normalizace prostřednictvím orálně-historických pramenů / For a New Approach to the Czechoslovak Exile in Paris during the Normalisation through Oral Sources

Martin, Clemence Julia January 2020 (has links)
This thesis is a contribution to the study of the Czechoslovakian exile in France with a special focus on the years 1968-1989, or the so-called Normalization. The aim is to answer certain questions that can only be approached through oral history. Thus, on the basis of interviews with six different narrators, we will try to understand the reasons and conditions of their departure before focusing on the establishment of their new life without reference points in Paris, far from home but also in contact with other migrants. As exile has shaped our narrators, special attention will be paid to questions of identity and memory. Keywords: Exile, Czechoslovakia, France, Communism, Normalization, Oral History.

Kulturní a náboženská identita Tibeťanů a tibetských komunit rozvíjející se mimo historické území Tibetu / The Development of Tibetan Cultural and Religious Identity among Tibetans Living outside of Historical Tibet

Pavlátová, Andrea January 2010 (has links)
The Development of Tibetan Cultural and Religious Identity among Tibetans Living outside of Historical Tibet The topic of my thesis was to find out changes in Tibetan society inside Tibet and in Tibetan exile in last 50. years and how do changes help to progress social capital. Inside Tibet is problem with high percent of nonliterary and high percent of incoming Han people, which cause that Tibetan people are getting on the edge of society, because they didn't have developed their human potential. The main problem is that Tibetan people don't know Chinese language well and this language is becoming more useful for daily life in Tibetan autonomous region. Tibetans, who are very religious, don't have opportunity to practice Tibetan Buddhism under communistic rule of Chine. Tibetans have to renounce His Holiness dalajlama and deny part of their Tibetan identity. Those reasons influence them to escape into exile. The second part of my thesis is concerned to describe push and pull factors of migration. As I found in materials, the main reasons to escape into exile were political, religion, education, economical problems and renounce dalajlama. In my research, Tibetan didn't divide those reasons to those categories, because they think of those problems in holistic way. The last part of thesis in...

Volitional Vanity : A study on the players of Path of Exile and their premium purchases

Singh Martinez, Mauricio, Tang, Sini January 2021 (has links)
This bachelor’s thesis presents a study mainly focused on players’ motivations of purchasing cosmetics items in Path of Exile, a free-to-play, action role-playing game. A “Theory of Consumption” is used in this paper as the theoretical framework. This study is conducted by running nine interviews and one survey, where 33 sets of results are collected in total. It was found that there were two main motivations for purchasing cosmetic items in that game. The dominant one is “conditional” motivation which is to support the game or game company, while the second one is “emotional” motivation which is to bring certain feelings within the game experience. However, the study found that one non-cosmetic item in Path of Exile was also purchased very frequently when it comes to the microtransactions of this game, so a “functional” motivation will also be mentioned in this paper. This study could be helpful for game designers wanting to figure out a good monetization strategy which does not alienate, but welcome players, especially in free-to-play games.

Reasons for the insertion of the incomparability of God in Solomon's prayer

Loots, Peter Charles Edmund January 2007 (has links)
Magister Theologiae - MTh / In this minithesis, I argue that the prime reason of the Deuteronomistic Historian (Dtr) for inserting the incomparability of God in Solomon's prayer is to convey his (Dtr's) theological interpretation of the history of Israel as history controlled by her sovereign God, Yahweh. Other reasons are also considered. In order to argue the main reason and others, the sociohistorical aspects of the Davidic-Solomonic era are briefly highlighted as well as the Deuteronomistic Historian, his time and theology. A closer look at the Babylonian exile shows the significance of this event in terms of the theological thought of Dtr conveyed in the passage 1 Ki. 8:23-26 and the rest of Solomon's prayer. A brief exploration of the theme "The Incomparability of Yahweh" as seen in the Deuteronomistic History is then undertaken to acquire a full comprehension of the incomparability formula within the Deuteronomistic writings. This also helps to place the formula within its immediate context, i.e. the passage and the prayer itself, and within its broader context, viz., the Deuteronomistic writings An exegesis of 1 Ki. 8:23-26 is undertaken giving further rise to lexical data leading to major themes. This critical exegesis, the lexical data and major themes lead to the postulation of the assumed reasons for the insertion of the incomparability formula by Dtr. Arguments for each reason are then put forth culminating in my argument that Dtr wants to conveys his theological interpretation of the history of Israel as history controlled by her sovereign God, Yahweh. The minithesis is concluded with an overview, reflections and theological perspectives of Dtr gleaned especially from the postulated reasons. Finally, this research shows the actuality of Dtr's theological thoughts for his time as well as for today's readers, especially in terms of the sovereignty of God, his hesed for his people and the motif of conditionality expressed in the Deuteronomistic theology permeating Solomon's prayer.

Exilová výtvarná scéna v Čechách a její následné působení v zahraničí, 1933 až 1945 / The exile visual art scene in Bohemia and its subsequent activities abroad, 1933 - 1945

Rokytová, Bronislava January 2011 (has links)
The exile visual art scene in Bohemia and its subsequent activities abroad, 1933-1945 The development of the political situation in Germany during the thirties of the 20th century, when the Nazi Party was radicalizing and Adolph Hitler's power gradually became unlimited, meant a danger not only for the political opponents of Nazism. Artists who work didn't meet the criteria of the new aesthetic or even engaged in its detriment, had to seek for asylum. The First Czechoslovak Republic became one of these refuges. The Czech-German art scene was a significant aid for the integration of the refugees into the society. Some of its personalities returned to their birthplace for similar reasons as anti-Nazi refugees. Czech-German conditions provided to emigrants an opportunity for active continuing of the struggle against Nazi regime, also with a backward impact in Germany. But the support by the Czech population and the state went through series of changes under pressure of Nazi German government and the growing influence of the Sudeten areas. Artists with the status of refugees were obliged to follow a set of state regulations and orders, which often bureaucratically confined their creative activity. Nevertheless, some of their artworks, contacts and memories show their positive attitude to the Czech...
