Influência do acabamento e polimento de resina composta na resistência adesiva à dentina e no ângulo cavo-superficial em esmalte / The influence of finishing and polishing procedures on dentin bond strength of resin composite and at the interface enamel/restoration

Regalado, Diego Ferreira 17 August 2007 (has links)
The objective of this study was to verify the influence of finishing and polishing procedures on dentin bond strength of resin composite, and at the interface tooth/restoration using MEV. Recently extracted human third molars were utilized in this study, after approved by ethics and search committee at FOB-USP. The teeth were restored with Solobond M (VOCO) adhesive system and resin composite Grandio (VOCO) and randomized in the follow groups: G1 (control) - no polishing and finishing, G2 - immediate polishing and finishing procedures, G3 - no polishing and finishing and stored for seven days e G4 - polishing and finishing procedures after seven days under water at 37oC. Sticks 1mm x 1mm were obtained and the bonds were then stressed to failure by microtensile forces in a EMIC universal testing machine at a crosshead speed of 0.5 mm/min. Twenty human third molars were prepared with four cavities with 1mm diameter and 3mm height and restored with the same restoration system used for the microtensile tests and were distributed at the same groups and the interface tooth/restoration was analyzed in MEV by three examinators. The means of bond strength (MPa) and respective standard deviation were: G1 - 23.05 (8.62); G2 - 17.34 (6.11); G3 - 21.64 (7.63) e G4 - 18.12 (6.51). The data were analyzed by One-Way Anova and e Fisher´s test. It was possible to conclude that the finishing and polishing procedures of resin composite decrease significantly the bond strength to dentin of the composite restorations. The Kruskal- Wallis test aplicated to gap scores at the tooth/restoration interface allows to determinate that the finishing and polishing procedures of resin composite do not interfere in gap formation.

Biasibetti, Guilherme Roberto dos Santos January 2018 (has links)
This paper investigated the influence of some of the main turning parameters in surface finishing, roughness, residual stress and microhardness of turning samples. Design of experiments (DoE) approach controlled the machining factors of the 0.45%C (ABNT 1045) steel bars samples. DoE also were applied to organize a total of thirty-two parameters combination, analyze its interactions and influences in each sample’s surface finish. Machining parameters investigated were: (1) feed rate, (2) cutting speed, (3) nose radius, (4) rake angle and (5) region of roughness measurement. Factorial analysis evaluated the influence of those five parameters in the average roughness (Ra) and the accuracy of each parameters combination to achieve the expected surface finish (Ir). The X-ray diffraction technique was used to measure the residual stresses in seven out of sixteen samples. The tensions were measured at their surface and at depths of 5, 10, 20, 50 and 75 μm by means of electrochemical material removal. In addition metallographic analysis of the machined surface and microhardness profile were conducted. Results showed that parameters as feed rate and nose radius have strong standardized effect in both factorial analysis. Results shown that reduction of the feed rate (or increase in nose radius) were able to produce lower roughness average (Ra) but, on the other hand, it also contribute to generate a surface roughness significant higher than theoretical roughness. The increase in cutting speed was beneficial to both, achieving a lower roughness average and improving process accuracy. The region of roughness measurement was found not significant to influence Ra. The residual stresses were strongly influenced by the feed rate and cutting speed factors, while the rake angle and nose radius showed small effect. The quality of the surface finish, regular or irregular, was directly related to residual stresses generation mechanism. The microhardness profile shown higher microhardness in samples with regular surface finish and in depths with higher residual stress.

Critical evaluation of hard chromium coating over cold mill work rolls.

Antonio Fabiano de Oliveira 22 November 2018 (has links)
The present work analyzed the tribological behavior of the hard chrome surface coating applied in rolling cylinders and their influence during the cold rolling process for steel, copper and aluminum alloys. The process started by analyzing the wear mechanisms that occur in work rolls. In function on the dimensions of the work rolls, replicas were obtained from several rolls and in different companies, before and after the roll chance. We consider in the sampling process, three types of work rolls finish: texturing, shot blasted and rectified. And still, work rolls without and with chrome coating. The Texture Shot Blaster (SBT) structure is not available in all respects related to the finished product. The hard chromium layer applied to these SBT rollers improves the surface quality of the sheet and is of interest to steel parts that are not of good capacity: EDT Textures, Laser texturing (LT), electrical beam texturization (EBT). The function of the generated surfaces obtained by these different methods is going to influence the tribological properties during the subsequent forming processes. On the other hand, they can increase the product final cost or require large investments to obtain such methods.

Bernadá, Maria Helena Guerra January 2006 (has links)
The trial was lead in order to evaluate the effect of four feeding systems on the performance and characteristics of the carcass of finishing Corriedale lambs. One hundred and twenty ten-month-old castrated lambs, 28,2 ± 0,800 kg of average initial live weight and body condition score 2,65±0.2 were used. Animals grassed an improved native pasture with legume specie (Lótus corniculatus cv INIA Draco) and they were assigned to four treatments: PAS: pasture; PAS0,6: pasture + 0,6%BW of supplement; PAS1,2: pasture + 1,2% BW of supplement and CONF: drylot. Completely random designs were used, and an animal was an experimental united. Average daily gains on CONF were 105, 73 and 31 grams higher than those finished in PAS, PAS0,6 and PAS1,2, respectively. There were differences of carcass yield for CONF treatments (47,78 %) and PAS 0,6 (46,20%), which were higher than PAS (44,36%) and PAS1,2 (45,59%) treatments. Subcutaneous fat tissue of animals fed treatments PAS0,6 (4,39%) and CONF (4,01) were larger than those fed treatments PAS1,2 (2,75%) (P<0,05). The e percentage of muscle in the carcasses of supplemented animals (55,96%) was larger than those raised without supplementation (P<0,05). The feeding system affected the conformation and termination. Animals finished in PAS0,6 and PAS1,2, had moderated levels of subcutaneous fat tissue, while carcasses of animals finished on drylot had deeper fat covering (P<0,05). Lambs finishing, on pasture with moderate supplementations levels, fitted live weights and carcass characteristics demanded for the European market.

An Analysis of the Competitive Position of Cattle Finishing in Utah and Selected Western States, 1969

Olsen, Stephen L. 01 May 1970 (has links)
Utah's cattle feeding industry was described by using both secondary and primary data. The primary data were collected through use of a personal interview survey. Primary data were also collected in Idaho, while secondary data were used for Arizona, California and Colorado. Intrastate analysis of feeding costs showed definite cost savings were achieved in all states through economies of size. Interstate analysis of feeding costs showed Utah's larger capacity feedlots to be very competitive with larger capacity lots in other states. 1968 prices for both slaughter and feeder cattle were computed for each state. Prices in Utah were slightly lower for both slaughter and feeder cattle than other states. A comparison of net return per unit fed in large feedlots indicated Utah's larger feedlots were competitive with feedlots in other states.

Marketing Aspects of Cattle Finishing Operations Major Cattle Finishing Areas of Utah, 1951-52

Fulton, Robert L. 01 May 1954 (has links)
On January 1, 1952, 50,000 head of cattle were on feed for slaughter in the state of Utah (6). This was an increase over previous years. The average number of cattle on feed for slaughter January 1st during the 1948-52 period was 45,000 head. This number was 30 percent larger than the average number on feed during the 1943-47 period. As shown in figure 1, the number of cattle on feed has fluctuated from year to year. The years with the least number of cattle on feed were those in the early thirties during the depression and drought. Since 1936 the general trend has been an increase in the number of cattle finished.

Evaluation of triticale dried distillers grain as a substitute for barley silage in feedlot finishing diets

Wierenga, Kristopher Troy 06 1900 (has links)
This study assessed the value of triticale dried distillers grains with solubles(DDGS) in a feedlot finishing diet using 144 intact, and 16 ruminally cannulated crossbred yearling steers. Substituting triticale DDGS for a portion of dry-rolled barley grain (20% diet DM) decreased the prevalence of ruminal acidosis and tended to increase dry matter intake and fat deposition, but increased the incidence and severity of liver abscesses. Further substitution of triticale DDGS for barley silage (5 and 10% diet DM) increased the prevalence of ruminal acidosis, but tended to improve feed efficiency without affecting carcass characteristics. These findings suggest that feedlot finishing diets containing triticale DDGS allow producers to decrease dietary forage inclusion without affecting performance, but may require use of an antimicrobial to control liver abscesses. / Animal Science

A Study of the Scope, Limitations and Kinetics of the Siliconization of Triarylamines Using Tris(pentafluorophenyl)borane Catalysis

Gretton, Michael James 20 November 2012 (has links)
Piers-Rubinsztajn (P-R) conditions, involving catalysis by tris(pentafluorophenyl)borane, were applied to siliconize triarylamines. A phenylated linear methylhydrosiloxane copolymer was utilized to create a hydrolytically-stable composite with promising optical, electrochemical and thermal properties. However, the reaction was highly exothermic, had rapid uncontrollable kinetics and produced methane as a byproduct; problematic characteristics for larger scale syntheses. Thereafter, triarylamines with bulkier substituents were studied to determine whether the kinetics could be slowed and a less volatile byproduct created. The rate of conversion was retarded significantly as expected, but not all derivatives reacted quantitatively in ambient conditions. Finally, P-R conditions were applied to methylhydrosiloxane-dimethylsiloxane copolymers. Gelation in air upon extended reaction time was effectively avoided by “finishing” excess Si-H sites using anisole. The result was the preparation of composites with up to 61 wt % arylamine content, which are expected to have significant applications as cost-effective flexible hole transport layers in organic electronic devices.
