Gravereau-Angeneau, Lorraine 08 June 2015 (has links)

Bearing one’s cross: a critical analysis of Mary Grey’s view on atonement

Festus, Heather January 2008 (has links)
Magister Theologiae - MTh / The aim of this research project was to seek a reinterpretation of the Christian motif of 'bearing one's cross'. This motif has been widely criticized by feminist theologians as an instrument that exacerbates the oppression of women, since it encourages self-sacrifice and in this way legitimizes abusive relationships. The research project focuses on Mary Grey's contribution to feminist discourse on atonement as the work of Christ and, more specifically, the symbol of the cross. In general, the problem, which will be addressed in this research project, is how oppressed women should respond to the call in Christian piety "to bear one's own cross". More specifically, the research problem, which will be investigated in this project, may be formulated in the following way: How should Mary Grey's position on a feminist reinterpretation of the doctrine of atonement and the meaning of the cross of Jesus Christ be assessed within the South African Christian context? The study assesses Mary Grey's views within the context of her own work, a feminist reinterpretation of the doctrine of atonement and the meaning of the cross of Jesus Christ in order to establish whether it is internally coherent

Facilitating forgiveness: an NLP approach to forgiving

Von Krosigk, Beate Christine 31 May 2004 (has links)
Facilitating forgiveness: an NLP approach to forgiving is an attempt at uncovering features of the blocks that prevent people to forgive. These blocks to forgiveness can be detected in the real life situations of the six individuals who told me their stories. The inner thoughts, feelings and the subsequent behaviour that prevented them from forgiving others is clearly uncovered in their stories. The facilitation process highlights the features that created the blocks in the past thus preventing forgiveness to occur. The blocks with their accompanying features reveal what needs to be clarified or changed in order to eventually enable the hurt individuals to forgive those who have hurt them. The application of discourse analysis to the stories of hurt highlights the links between the real life stories of the individuals within their contexts with regard to unforgiveness to the research findings of the existing body of knowledge, thereby creating a complexly interwoven comprehensive understanding of the individuals' thoughts, feelings, and behaviours in conjunction with their developmental phases within their socio-cultural contexts. Neuro-linguistic-programming (NLP) is the instrument with which forgiving is facilitated in the six individuals who expressed their conscious desire to forgive, because they were unable to do so on their own. Their emotions had the habit of keeping them in a place in which they were forced to relive the hurtful event as if it were happening in the present. Arresting the process of reliving negative emotions requires a new way of being in this world. The assumption that this can be learnt is based on the results from a previous study, in which forgiveness was uncovered by means of the grounded theory approach as a cognitive process (Von Krosigk, 2000). The results from the previous research in conjunction with the results and insights from this research study are presented in the form of a grounded theory model of forgiveness. / Psychology / D. O PERDÃO: A ABORDAGEM DE GIRARD E OS BENEFÍCIOS EXISTENCIAIS DE UMA NOVA VISÃO DE PERDOAR

Through his victimization on the Cross, Jesus reveals the truth about whom we are and who the Lord is. By demonstrating his innocence, He reverts to himself the accusation of those keeping themselves on the circle of self-justification by transfer of guilt. Thereby, the Christ decides to forgive by his own will. This is a new form of forgiveness that is called Novum. The Novum reveals a new way to bond with people who have wronged us and to try to understand ourselves through the other. This new mimesis values life, freedom, and care for the neighbor, the reconciliation more than gifts and sacrifices. This is dialectical overcoming because in this process the decision of forgiving belongs to the subject and the decision of reconciliation also depends on the one that was offended.Through the novum it is possible to change the direction of the past, destroy fatality and not to continue being a hostage of guilt. This attitude allows the subject to look to the future with hope. Focusing on the Passion and the Resurrection the subject finds who he really is and will be able to decide to pursue the Christ centric model. This decision takes him off the violent mimesis to start to elaborate the will to decide to forgive the one that has offended him. Finally, the subject recognizes the novum forgiveness as a model that when is imitated and donated is capable of remaking the one forgiving as well as the one that is forgiven. Ao focar a Paixão e a Ressurreição, o sujeito descobre quem ele realmente é e poderá decidir seguir o modelo Cristocêntrico.

Marcos Augusto Armange 19 September 2007 (has links)
The goal of this work is to analyze the human existential conflict that appears in the tension between the demands of an absolutized authority (Law) found in the psychoanalytic view and in the theological view in the representation of the father, superego, God and the sin as a theological and anthropological category, as a condition of every existence, and at the same time a voluntary act that makes it impossible to meet the legal expectations of a demanding authority. It highlights the classical manifestations of this conflict: the feeling of gilt, understood here as anguish of gilt, of the one who cannot meet the demands; and the pride understood as the idealization of the self, of the one who understands himself or herself as a person able to meet the expectations of the authority. Gilt and pride are factors of destruction of the human being according to the theological and psychoanalytic perspectives. In order to solve this conflict it wants to examine the image of Father that Jesus presents in his relationship with God. It understands that this representation, originated in forgiveness, is a paradigm in the relativization of the absolutized figure, in the surpassing of sin, for the notion of a new justice, for the healing of gilt and for a real image of the human being not based on pride.
