Aproximações a uma metapsicologia freudiana da escuta: ressonâncias a partir do campo do acompanhamento terapêutico / A metapsychological approach of a Freudian listening: reverberations from therapeutical accompaniment fieldIso Alberto Ghertman 22 May 2009 (has links)
The present paper aims at reflecting about the group of concepts that operate in the process of analytical listening. In order to do so, it was based on the Freudian reference and on the unfoldings of his ideas after reading the contributions of contemporary analysts. The trigger of these reflections was the clinical experience of the author in what can be called \"extended clinic\", specifically the clinic of therapeutical accompaniment. By means of the singularity of that clinic, the \"nomadic listening\" idea was formulated, and it is subordinate not only to the transference field where it lies, but also to a discourse that is taken from the Freudian doctrine, delimiting an ethical and political position in relation with suffering.

Freud, Lacan, and the Oedipus complexVan der Merwe, Petrus Lodewikus 12 1900 (has links)
Thesis (MA)--Stellenbosch University, 2011. / ENGLISH ABSTRACT: “Freud, Lacan, and the Oedipus Complex” examines the Oedipus complex as found in the writing of Sigmund Freud and re-evaluated in the works of Jacques Lacan. Lacan‟s critical reappraisal of the Oedipus complex is captured in his 1969-1971 Seminars, published as The Other Side of Psychoanalysis(2007). This thesis examines Freud‟s overemphasis of the Oedipus complex, the myth of the primal horde and the consequent depiction of the father. Lacan doesn‟t dismiss the Oedipus complex completely, but treats it as a dream, and reinterprets it in light of Freud‟s The Interpretation of Dreams (1900). Lacan focuses on Freud‟s overemphasis on the father in both the Oedipus complex and the myth of the primal horde and illustrates how Freud is protecting the image of the father by depicting him as strong, whereas clinical experience shows that the father can be weak and fallible. / AFRIKAANSE OPSOMMING: “Freud, Lacan, and the Oedipus Complex” ondersoek die Oedipus kompleks, soos beskryf in die werk van Sigmund Freud en die beskrywing daarvan in die werk van Jacques Lacan. Lacan se kritiese herevaluasie van die Oedipus kompleks verskyn in sy 1969-1971 Seminare, gepubliseer as The Other Side of Psychoanalysis(2007).

The following work explores the development of the freudian concept “projection” in the framework of the mutual collaboration between Sigmund Freud and Carl Jung. This research is framed in the line of historical-conceptual research and unconscious determinants in the concept’s development. We intend to explain, the theoretical and methodological differences between Freud and Jung from the beginning that make sense on the mutual collaboration in the development of that concept. With this purpose, we reviewed critically the correspondence between both authors, as well as each one’s works referred to the concept / Tesis

The main objective is to expose, from a particular reading of the initial period of Freud's work, how did the field, in which sits a definition of the psyche established, accordingly to incipient psychoanalysis. The conditions responsible for reconsiderations of important notions will be highlighted, as will the particular treatment method that would be developed during the work. It will be deepened the internal discussion about what we might call the birth of psychoanalysis, and the uniqueness that is often attributed to its main concepts. This proposition is supported on the exhibition of the motion of particular articulation that Freud engenders in the theme of the psyche, from 1886 to 1894, in which the subject does not appear so well defined as it would in later texts, but in whose articulation of issues stood out the possibility of a 'psychic functioning mode' for neurosis. With this objective, it was outlined the transition of the explanatory mode that favors a predominantly physiological automatic characteristic to which it gradually added a functional modification of psychic dynamics, but without neglecting the former. This would be the case of logic established by the psychic mechanism of "counter-will" (1892) that would have contributed exactly by the shift that it provided to the focus of treatment, which subsequently developed into a 'relationship of symbolization' by 'conflict'. The reformulation of the functional aspect of hysteria, from this point of view, brought the number of constructions that would provide support to the basis notions for later concepts of resistance, transference and the development of free association. It is concluded that this particular and resilient operation, obtained in the gaps from the issues of healing and symptoms elimination, would have given authenticity to Freud's theory and specificity to his psychoanalysis, through constant transformation that Freud never stopped to promote to existing concepts in the field of medical research in which he attended / Doutorado / Filosofia / Doutora em Filosofia

Verdade e técnica em psicanáliseTriska, Vitor Hugo Couto January 2010 (has links)

The modern self in the labyrinth : a study of entrapment in the works of Weber, Freud, and FoucaultChowers, Eyal January 1995 (has links)
In the works of Weber, Freud, and Foucault we find a distinct depiction of the relation between the self and modern civilization. This thesis describes that relation as "entrapment": the self has become mired in the life orders of modernity and is unable to reign over them. The primary hazard of these orders is their imposition of subjectivities that are highly circumscribed, subjectivities more responsive to external functions and imperatives than to the expression of individuality. Underlying this outlook is a new consciousness of time; in lieu of evolutionary and progressive theories of history, a tragic view emerges. History is seen as devoid of any deterministic necessity, yet its collective products have become too weighty and entrenched to allow for radical, over-arching political transformations. The thesis examines how, beginning with these shared presuppositions, Weber, Freud, and Foucault develop very different understandings of entrapment, understandings that pose fundamental challenges to one another.

Fear, anxiety and death in Freud and Heidegger.O'Riordan, Alex. January 1999 (has links)
This mini-thesis attempts to understand what it means to fear death. It does this by first investigating how Heidegger and then Freud explain fear of death. Heidegger believes that the relationship Dasein has towards its own death allows it the possibility of 'authenticity'. Death presents to Dasein its ownmost potentiality for being. Heidegger explains that this means that in facing death Dasein has the possibility of
completeness and absolute individuality. Dasein is called to this possibility of authenticity by the anxiety it experiences in the face of its own death. However, Dasein does not necessarily respond to this call. By reducing anxiety to a fear it is possible for Dasein to disregard its fear of death and correspondingly not respond to the call of authenticity. Thus, for Heidegger, fear of death is symptomatic of inauthentic Dasein's relationship towards its own death. For Freud, on the other hand, death cannot be conceptualised without reference to the social world. Freud believes that the relationship we have towards our own death is learnt through living in this world. Furthermore, Freud argues that it is impossible for the human being to ever understand that death can be an annihilation. When the human being dreads, fears or even desires death, Freud believes it does so symbolically. In this regard Freud explains, by way of the death instinct, that the psyche understands death as a return to before birth. One of Freud's explanations of fear of death is that this fear is actually for the loss of Eros. This fear, however, is in conflict with the phantasy to return to before birth. One of the results of this conflict is the arousal of anxiety. The differences and similarities between Freud's and Heidegger's explanations are detailed in the final chapter. Examining these details leads to a closer investigation of Freud's and Heidegger's explanations of anxiety. On this issue this mini-thesis finds that Freud's and Heidegger's explanations of anxiety are in conflict with each other. After attempting to avoid placing Freud and Heidegger against each other, this mini-thesis demonstrates that Heidegger's explanation of anxiety is lacking in detail. / Thesis (M.Soc.Sci.)-University of Natal, 1999.
