Att förena kontroll med rättigheter : En uppsats om barns rättigheter i relation till kontroll och regler i HVB-hem

Hedman, Rebecca, Hietala, Johanna January 2011 (has links)
This essay discusses children’s rights and control and system of rules in HVB-homes that provide treatment for adolescences with drug abuse problems or criminal behavior. The results of this study are based on interviews with four persons working in managerial positions on different HVB-homes and shows the difficulties of having a children’s rights perspective in a context where a higher level of control is necessary to protect the best interest of the child. The study suggests that the question of balance between children’s right and the need for controlling system of rules needs to be further discussed to improve, and as far as possible guarantee that these adolescence receive best possible care and do not suffer unfair restrictions on liberties.

Handlingsutrymme och ansvar : En kvalitativ studie om personal på HVB-hem och stödboende för ensamkommande flyktingbarn / Acting space and sense of responsibility

Granberg, Moa, Lisa, Jeansson January 2021 (has links)
This thesis is about staff in Sweden working with unaccompanied migrant children, either in supported accommodation or HVB-homes, a form of residential care. A previous study shows that staffs’ acting space often led them feeling a higher sense of responsibility for their work. This study seeks to understand if the staffs’ acting space relate to their sense of responsibility for children in care. To answer this, we have used a qualitative method. We have done eight semi-structured interviews with staff working in HVB-homes and supported accommodation, to take part of the staffs’ perspective and point of views. The theory used for analysing out material is Lipsky’s Street-level bureaucracy: dilemmas of the individual in public services. We have also used Ulla Johansson’s conception analysis Om ansvar. The result of the study shows that staff feel like they have a big acting space at their place of work. Staff also describe how they feel responsible for the children they meet in their work, but not a sense of responsibility that goes beyond their work role. From our interviews we have concluded that it doesn’t seem to be a significant relation between acting space and the staffs’ sense of responsibility for the children. The latter relates more to the staffs’ attitude and their boundaries.

A research study on cultural competence at HVB homes in Sweden. / A research study on cultural competence at HVB homes in Sweden.

Nilsson, Sanna January 2019 (has links)
In autumn 2015 the largest refugee crisis occurred in Europe since world war two (Myndigheten för samhällsskydd och beredskap, MSB 2018). Sweden experienced a migrant flow from various countries because of wars and conflicts in the world (Swedish migration agency, 2016).Many unaccompanied minors, mainly from Afghanistan, needed to be taken care of in different family homes or HVB homes. To provide nursing and basic needs for the unaccompanied refugee children, the personnel must be able to handle and understand cultural differences and situations that may arise from this. Cultural competence can be crucial to provide good care for these minors. Purpose; The purpose of this study is chosen in order to understand if adequate training is available for the staff at HVB homes, if the staff feels informed about cultural diversities and if the education given helps in order to detect problems and thus be aware of them. With the help of this research, the author hopes that problems such as untrained personnel and lack of knowledge regarding cultural sensitivity can be highlighted in order to develop fitful education to give optimal care for the unaccompanied refugee minors. Knowledge is one of the pillars for the development of a well-functioning society. Method: The study was performed as a qualitative interview study in which three interviews were made with personnel working at different HVB homes. As a complement to deepen the study online surveys were used. Result: The information collected in this paper states that personnel at HVB homes lack adequate cultural competence and have seen negatively affecting cultural practices. The personnel do not have tools and knowledge to deal with problems that may arise, which limits the safety of the unaccompanied refugee minors.

“I SVERIGE HADE DET HÄR KLASSATS SOM BARNMISSHANDEL”. EN KVALITATIV STUDIE OM BOENDEPERSONALS INTEGRATIONSARBETE MED ENSAMKOMMANDE BARN

Möller, Emma, Mårtensson, Carolina January 2018 (has links)
The aim of this study is to examine how the staff accommodation at Hvb-homes (home for care and accommodation) work to integrate unaccompanied children in the society. To get the information to the study we have interviewed seven people that work at different Hvb-homes. We asked them questions concerning the integration process, how they work with it, what they see as difficulties and possibilities and the effects of the long asylum process. The informers defined integration quite similar, they illuminated the importance of integration at societal level. We found that the children's well-being is negatively affected by the long asylum process. Their bad well-being affect their motivation to integrate, they do not go to school for example, which all informers consider an important factor in their integration process. It is not only the children that are affected, also the staff accommodation and their work is. They can no longer work with the integration process, they have to respect the children's well-being, and their focus in their work have to change. Now it is all about taking care and motivate the children.
