It introduces the comprehensive view on consultancy process and describes in detail the range of human resources agendas associated with consultancy. The entire document links theoretical findings with business practice and demonstrates how the external consultancy can be applied in organizations. It reflects common problems in companies with emphasis on extended description of human resource outsourcing. Empirical part of the thesis looks into on-line offers of consultancy services in human resource management. This topic is subject of qualitative survey aimed at describing contemporary human resources consultancy market in Czech Republic. Survey findings present structure of consultancy services. Svenska linjechefers upplevelse av sitt chefskap efter en centralisering av HR / Swedish line managers´experience of their managementship after a centralization of HR

Syftet med föreliggande studie var att undersöka linjechefers upplevelse av sitt chefskap efter centraliseringen av HR-avdelningen, och decentraliseringen av de arbetsuppgifter som rör HR-arbetet. Genom en kvalitativ studie genomfördes åtta intervjuer med linjechefer inom en energikoncern i Mellansverige. Fokus låg på linjechefernas erfarenheter, berättelser och upplevelser av sitt chefskap, efter den organisationsförändring som genomförts. Data analyserades med hjälp av induktiv tematisk analys, där fyra huvudteman framkom ur det transkriberade materialet. Resultatet visade att linjecheferna upplevde att faktorer som samarbete, tydliga förväntningar, ett större eget ansvar samt avskiljandet av chefskap och ledarskap bidrog till att de förändringar som centraliseringen medförde upplevdes som positiva. Betydelsen av dessa faktorer i och med decentraliseringen av de arbetsuppgifter som rör HR-arbetet har således bidragit till att linjecheferna känner att de klarar av att hantera de ökade krav som ställs på dem som chefer, och att de trivs med sitt chefskap. / The aim of the present study was to investigate line managers’ experiences of their managementship after centralization of the HR department, and the decentralization of tasks that are related to HR work. Through a qualitative study, eight interviews were conducted with line managers within an energy corporate group in Central Sweden. The focus was on the line managers' experiences, narratives and experiences of their managementship, after the organizational change that was implemented. Data were analyzed using inductive thematic analysis. The result showed that the line managers felt factors such as cooperation, clear expectations, greater responsibility and also that the separation of managementship and leadership contributed to the changes that centralization brought, were perceived as positive. The importance of these factors with the decentralization of the tasks related to HR work has thus contributed to the line managers feeling that they are able to manage the increased demands placed on them as managers, and that they enjoy their managementship.

A pesquisa teve por objetivo construir um instrumento para identificação da carga de trabalho da equipe de enfermagem em unidades pediátricas e realizar a validação aparente do instrumento construído. O instrumento para identificação da carga de trabalho da equipe, na área de pediatria, foi elaborado a partir da eleição de um sistema padronizado de linguagem, com a finalidade de comunicar um significado comum aos diversos locais de atendimento. Dentre as classificações analisadas, optou-se por utilizar a Classificação das Intervenções de Enfermagem (NIC). Para compor o instrumento foram selecionadas, na NIC, as intervenções e as atividades consideradas relevantes para a assistência de enfermagem pediátrica. Essas intervenções e atividades foram distribuídas em domínios classes, conservando-se a estrutura taxonômica da NIC. A seguir foram descritas em diferentes níveis, de acordo com a natureza das ações e o tempo estimado para a sua realização. Para a validação aparente do instrumento foram convidadas enfermeiras com conhecimento em cada um dos temas envolvidos na sua construção: Assistência de Enfermagem Pediátrica; Sistema de Classificação de Pacientes e Classificação das Intervenções de Enfermagem. A análise dessas enfermeiras considerou que as intervenções e atividades selecionadas, para a composição do instrumento, são relevantes e representam a prática da assistência de enfermagem pediátrica. Com a identificação das intervenções e atividades que representam a carga de trabalho da equipe de enfermagem, vislumbra-se o desenvolvimento de novas pesquisas, no sentido de realizar testes de confiabilidade e validade do instrumento, para verificar sua aplicabilidade na prática assistencial e gerencial, bem como correlacionar cada uma dessas intervenções e atividades com o tempo despendido para a sua realização, de forma a constituir um instrumento que determine a carga de trabalho da equipe de enfermagem das unidades pediátricas. / This research aimed to build an instrument for the identification of nursing staff workload in pediatric units and make the apparent validation of the instrument built. The instrument for the identification of staff workload, in the pediatric area, was created by the election of a standardized system of language, for the purpose of communicating a meaning in common to the several places of attendance. Among the classification analyzed, it was chosen to use the Nursing Intervention Classification (NIC). For composing the instrument it was selected at the NIC the interventions and activities considered relevant for the pediatric nursing care. These interventions and activities were distributed in group masteries, keeping the taxonomic structure of NIC. Next, they were described in different levels, according to the nature of actions and the estimated time for its accomplishment. For the apparent validation of the instrument, nurses experienced in each one of the following themes involved in the building were invited: Pediatric Nursing Care, Patient Classification System and Nursing Intervention Classification. The nurses’ analyses considered that the selected interventions and activities, for composing the instrument, are relevant and represent the practice of pediatric nursing care. Identifying the interventions and activities that represent nursing staff workload made it possible to predict the development of new researches in the sense of applying reliability and validity tests for the instrument, verifying its applicability in the practitioner and management practice, as well as matching each one of these interventions and activities to the time spent for its accomplishment, in a way to constitute an instrument that determine nursing staff workload in the pediatric units.

Successful Human Resource Outsourcing Strategies

Human resource outsourcing (HRO) is a strategic choice that managers implement because of a variety of anticipated benefits. The purpose of this qualitative case study was to identify HRO strategies managers used to reduce operating costs while maintaining human resource (HR) effectiveness. Data were collected from semistructured interviews using open-ended questions and a review of company documents. Study participants represented 3 midwestern firms with 50 or more employees. The participants drawn from the population consisted of a minimum of 2 participants per organization who had increased their organization's strategic value using HRO strategies. The transaction cost economics (TCE) theory was the conceptual framework for this study. Data were analyzed using methodological triangulation to identify codes from words, phrases, and sentences using multiple sources to identify recurring themes. Five key themes emerged: outsourcing strategies, outsourced functions, operational costs, organizational effectiveness, and success measurement. The findings of this study may lead to social change by supporting managers in making HRO decisions conducive to reducing operating costs while maintaining HR effectiveness, which might positively impact social change by providing core function jobs to the local community thereby decreasing unemployment rates.

Att attrahera arbetssökande : En studie i hur företag kan använda corporate social performance i employer branding för att stärka sitt arbetsgivarvarumärke

Denna studies syfte är att undersöka vilka aspekter av ett företags arbetsgivarvarumärke som värderas högst av arbetssökande och därför är viktigast för företag att kommunicera till målgruppen genom employer branding-arbete. Uppsatsen bygger på fyra frågeställningar: Vilka av aspekterna i ett arbetsgivarvarumärke är viktigast att kommunicera till arbetssökande för att bli en arbetsgivare som arbetssökande dras till? Vidare: Vilka aspekter av ett arbetsgivarvarumärke värderar studenter högst när de väljer arbetsgivare? Finns det en skillnad mellan män och kvinnor i vad man värderar högst respektive lägst? Finns det en skillnad mellan vad man värderar högst respektive lägst beroende på studietid? Undersökningen baseras på en kvantitativ studie och genomfördes med hjälp av en enkätstudie. Enkätstudien baseras på en modell för corporate social performance som kommer från ett offentligt index av Kinder, Lydenberg, Domini & Co. (KLD). Samtliga respondenter var studenter vid samhällsvetenskapliga fakulteten vid Uppsala universitet. Undersökningens huvudsakliga resultat visade på att ingen stor skillnad föreligger i hur de olika dimensionerna värderas, men att alla dimensionerna verkar vara ganska viktiga för arbetssökande när de värderar ett företag i syfte att söka jobb där. Vidare kan vi konstatera att det verkar extra viktigt att fokusera på att skapa en arbetsplats som har ett öppet klimat för olika sexuella läggningar, och att sedan kommunicera ut det till arbetssökande, då detta var den aspekt som värderades allra högst, högre än någon annan jämställdhetsaspekt. Eftersom värderingarna av de olika dimensionerna var ganska lika bör man som rekryterare ha detta i åtanke när man kommunicerar ut till arbetssökande. Key questions to be answered are Which aspects of an employer brand are rated highest by students when it comes to choosing an employer? Is there a difference between men and women in what they value highest and lowest? Is there a difference in how job seekers rate the highest and lowest rated dimensions depending on how long they have studied? Method/Material: The material used in this article consists of a survey filled out by 49 respondents who were all students at Uppsala University, Sweden. The survey was based on a model of corporate social performance (CSP), taken from the Kinder, Lydenberg and Domini company profiles index. Main results: The main results demonstrate that the aspect that was rated highest by respondents was that the company has an accepting attitude toward its gay and lesbian employees. There was however no great difference between the four CSP dimensions. The main results further show that the companys’ treatment of its employees is something jobseekers value when considering seeking employment at a company. The survey did not find that there was any notable difference between male and female respondents. The survey found that for three of four CSP dimensions, respondents tended to rate lower the further along in their educations they were. Darbo tikslas: ištirti žmogiškųjų išteklių valdymo politikos sveikatos apsaugos organizacijose tendencijas, probleminę situaciją, potencialias ateities žmogiškųjų išteklių valdymo galimybes, Kupiškio pirminės asmens sveikatos priežiūros centro pavyzdžiu. Žmogiškųjų išteklių valdymui tenka svarbus uždavinys – užtikrinti, kad organizacijoje dirbtų pakankamas, reikiamos kvalifikacijos darbuotojų skaičius ir kad jų darbas būtų efektyvus. Svarbiausias dėmesys turi būti skiriamas darbuotojų kompetencijos ugdymui, kvalifikacijos kėlimui, tinkamų darbo sąlygų sudarymui. Tyrimas rodo, kad įstaiga taikosi prie vykstančių pokyčių žmogiškųjų išteklių valdymo srityje, tačiau dar daugeliu atvejų valdymo procesuose vyrauja konservatyvus požiūris, menkai taikomos šalies ir užsienio mokslininkų rekomendacijos. Tai lemia menkos administravimo žinios, kvalifikuotų sveikatos priežiūros vadybininkų trūkumas, ir to pasekoje žmogiškųjų išteklių valdymo teorijos atotrūkis nuo praktikos. Pagrindinės žmogiškųjų išteklių tobulinimo kryptys įstaigoje yra atlyginimų metodikos tobulinimas, kvalifikacijos kėlimo programų tobulinimas, besimokančiųjų rėmimas, naujų technologijų diegimas, organizacijos kultūros gerinimas. Svarbu didinti darbuotojų motyvaciją, įtraukiant juos į įstaigai svarbių sprendimų priėmimą. / The aim of the thesis: to analyze the tendencies of human resources management policy in health care institutions, i.e. the problematic situation and the potential opportunities for future human resources management on the basis of Kupiškis primary human health care centre example. The management of human resources carries on a very important task – to ensure that the organization would include sufficient number of the employees with the right qualification and to ensure the effectiveness of their work. The most important attention must be drawn to the improvement of the competence of employees, increase of the qualification and the creation of the suitable working conditions. The research shows that the institution adapts the changes which arise in the area of the human resources management, however, the conservative attitude towards management processes still overrules and we evidence a very rare application of both national and foreign scientists‘ recommendations. This is determined by the poor knowledge of administration, the insufficiency of the qualified health care institutions‘ managers and as a consequence – the gap between the human resources management theory and practice.
