[en] CREATIVITY, DESIGN THINKING AND VISUAL THINKING AND ITS RELATION WITH THE UNIVERSE OF INFOGRAPHICS AND DATA VISUALIZATION / [pt] CRIATIVIDADE, DESIGN THINKING E VISUAL THINKING E SUA RELAÇÃO COM O UNIVERSO DA INFOGRAFIA E DA VISUALIZAÇÃO DE DADOSCARLA CRISTINA DA COSTA TEIXEIRA 11 May 2015 (has links)
[en] The thesis discusses the relationship between creativity and design thinking and the universe of infographics and data visualization, proposing a method of construction of infographics from studies in these areas, based on current and compatible bibliography. The method of development of infographics follows the logic that belongs to visual thinking. In addition, the infographics itself appears as a possible tool for visual thinking within the design thinking, optimizing the possibilities of this process. Infographics and data visualization provide a vast new field of work for the designer in partnership with other professionals. However, there is a lack of methods for building and developing infographics. The method of construction proposed by the thesis to fill this gap identified, including my own experience as a professor in this area, can be applied both by designers who are already in the market as can be taught to students of Design and Communication.

Previous issue date: 2018-02 / Infography has been characterized as a new representaíion of form the
contemporary informative journalism genre, that synthesizes the information from
the resources the graphic visual language, aiming quick and efficient reading the
news. Among the visual language elements that characterize its configuration,
the color becomes an important feature the infographics, can contribute to
emphasize and organize complex visual information, for clarity, visual balance,
and harmony. However, it can also have negative effects, if used improperly,
making information difficult to understand. Within this context, the present study
investigates the indicative, perceptive and representative functions of color in the
journalism infographics, aiming to propose recommendations for its use in the
design of infographics. Therefore, this research presents an exploratory, mixedmethod
(qualitative and quantitative) approach, to be carried out in four stages:
(i) characterization of color functions; (ii) analysis of a set of infographics; (iii)
processing and interpretation of data; and (iv) recommendations for the use of
color in the project of journalism infographics. Comparing the three categories
was observed that perceptive and indicative function categories were the most
recurrent, being the functions harmonize, organize, hierarchize and measure the
most ones. However, these same categories were also those ones that presented
a higher number of probiems in the use of color, with the functions maintaining
readability and visibility and maintaining consistency the most problematic ones.
Such analysis identified successful uses and highlighted some shortcomings,
moreover contributing recommendations for directing the proper application of
color in journalism infographics.

FunÃÃes discursivas do InfogrÃfico da webnotÃcia do G1Francisco Marques Sampaio 00 October 2018 (has links)
linguageiras: a descriÃÃo-narraÃÃo e a explicaÃÃo.
Lage (2006), Canavilhas (2007) e Alves Filho (2011).
This qualitative research has as general objective to analyze the discursive functions
of the infographic G1 - the Globo News Portal. In the transaction process, the news is
produced based on the specific exchange data between the partner subjects and the
recognition of the conditions of enunciation submitted to a media information
contract. To ensure the credibility of what is reported, the communicating subject
uses a pluricode text: the infographic. With its discursive functions, this strategic
resource becomes an important investment in the production of journalistic material,
provoking the (re) construction of the meanings of the text by the interpreting subject.
The infographic of the G1 is a "proof of truth" in the production of the information
discourse, taking into account the information objective (the "to know"), the aim of the
capture (the "make feel") and the target of the demonstration (the "make believe").
Thus, the informant reports the facts through two linguistic activities: descriptionnarration
and explanation. The "produced effects" in the news media interfere in the
conditions of interpretation by the recipient subject. In order to base our research, we
use the theoretical contribution of Semiolinguistics (CHARAUDEAU, 2015, 2014,
2012, 2010, 2005, 2001, 1996) that deals with a gender problem, based on the
assumptions of Bakhtin ([2003] 2011). On the journalistic genre, authors such as van
Dijk (1990), Lage (2006), Canavilhas (2007) and Alves Filho (2011) were used. As
for the infographic, the research turned to authors of journalism, such as Teixeira
(2010), and those of Linguistics, such as Paiva (2013, 2009 and 2016). The research
corpus is composed of 10 (ten) webnews of the G1 with infographics, collected from
August 2016 to January 2017. During the analysis of the data, we used, for the
genre, the explanation based on a problematic of the genre, which considers the
situational aspect and the communication contract; with regard to the discursive
functions of the infographic, the components of the descriptive organization (the
"Naming", "Locating" and "Qualifying") were essential and the categories of
situational dimension, image technique and discourse for the analysis of image
indicated by Mendes (2010). The results show that the infographic is a pluricode text
and a constituent feature of the webnews of the G1, performing several discursive
functions, such as adding, validating and confirming the information, as well as the
visual representation to (re) construct sense effects text.

The present investigation mentions that since the Peruvian State entered a health emergency, it generated a change in the daily routines for the Peruvian population. This sudden change affected the mental health of children under 11 years of age and I have taken into account for my study the population of inhabitants of Metropolitan Lima, therefore, the Ministry of Health (MINSA) for taking care of the mental health of children and girls, generated the approval of Ministerial Resolution No. 180-2020-MINSA that presented it as "Technical Guide for the care of Mental Health of the Affected Population, Families and Community, in the context of COVID.19" during the month of April 2020, where it mentions about care and self-care for mental health. However, the technical guide is a material that lacks information design, such as digital infographic.
Consequently, the problem of information design or digital infographics was proposed as a diversity of solutions, but only one proposal met all the requirements of the main objective of the project, which is the material as a practical tool that helps mothers to care for children. your children from home, without the need to seek advice from a health staff. In the end, the material that best suited these needs was digital infographics because if it met the project objectives, the project also proposes the creation of this new material that is used not only for mothers of families, but also that it can be used by different people who are in charge of caring for a child. / Trabajo de Suficiencia Profesional

Infografik för alla (IFA) : design av information för individer med synvariationer / Infographics for all (IFA) : designing information for the visually impairedBrännström, Sanne, Lunnerhag, Miranda January 2020 (has links)
Infographics has become a popular method for displaying information in the digital society. Previous research have mainly focused on how people with normal visual ability perceive infographics on the web, but there is a certain need to examine infographics from a perspective that focuses on accessibility to include people with visual impairment. This paper presents the design concept “IFA”, which stands for “Infographics For All”. The concept was developed with the aim of finding out how a design concept for infographics for the visually impaired can be designed, and was developed by concept-driven design research. The design concept presents a color contribution, the color violet, which the authors have not encountered in the research field of the subject before. Previously recommended colors such as turquoise and magenta were tested and proved inaccessible to the target group. The research of the design concept also confirmed existing theories, such as the importance of high contrast between text and background and fairly large font sizes. Suggestions for future research may contain to test the concept, “IFA”, in a real-life user context, as well as to develop a version of the concept that is based on the opposite of what is recommended in this thesis, to compare the effects of the concepts in a real-life user context.

Проектирование интерфейса для геоинформационной медицинской системы «ОТБ» : магистерская диссертация / Designing an interface for the geoinformation medical system "OTB"Фролова, Н. В., Frolova, N. V. January 2018 (has links)
The master's thesis examines the application of data visualization and the design of information panels, as a tool for managing the processes of enterprises and the state.
In particular, the interface of the system for monitoring tuberculosis data is being designed. At the moment, data monitoring is characterized by fragmentation and inaccessibility of accurate data. The relevance of the topic is due to the need for digitalization of medicine and the development of a system for monitoring data on morbidity.
The practical significance of the thesis consists in applying the results of the research to the Urals Research Institute of Phthisiopulmonology for monitoring the diseases of the population.
The efficiency of the project is confirmed by calculations of such indicators as net present value, internal rate of return, simple and discounted payback period, which allows to make a conclusion about the expediency and efficiency of the implementation of the system.

EFFECTIVENESS OF USING AUTOMATICALLY ADVANCED VS. MANUALLY ADVANCED INFOGRAPHICS IN HEALTH AWARENESSAsefeh Kardgar (18451410) 02 May 2024 (has links)

Infographics are increasingly used as visual communication tools for conveying health information to diverse audiences. However, research is lacking on how specific infographic design factors influence learning outcomes. This study aimed to determine the comparative effectiveness of automatically advanced (Group A) versus manually advanced (Group B) infographics for promoting breast cancer awareness and knowledge. A mixed-methods quasi-experimental pretest-posttest design was utilized. The sample comprised 42 participants for analysis. Of these, the majority, 41 persons self-reported as female, with one participant indicating their gender as 'other.' Participant ages ranged from 25 to 55 years (M = 40.5, SD = 7.62). Most participants were well-educated, with graduate degrees or other advanced education beyond a bachelor's degree. Participants were randomly assigned to either the automatically advanced infographic group (Group A) or the manually advanced infographic group (Group B). Results indicated that Group B had significantly higher scores on the knowledge post-test compared to Group A, suggesting improved recall and comprehension of key information. There were no significant differences in cognitive load ratings or viewing duration between the groups. Qualitative feedback from participants suggested that Group B's manually advanced infographic facilitated better self-pacing and absorption of content. While the study's findings provide preliminary evidence supporting the efficacy of manually advanced infographics in learning complex health information, limitations are acknowledged. The research contributes to the design of patient education materials and underscores the necessity for further investigations across varied populations and health topics to understand the impact of infographic design more comprehensively on learning and behavior.
