Estudo da campanha de vacinação contra a raiva em cães e gatos em área do Município de São Paulo, SP / Study of rabies vaccination campaign in dogs and cats in a region of São Paulo, SP

Moretti, Gisele Melo Alves 03 June 2013 (has links)
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the anti-rabies vaccination campaign in the region of SUVIS (Health Surveillance Supervision) Lapa/Pinheiros in 2012. The profile of the animals immunized and their respective owners was obtained and an analysis of the geographical distribution and the areas under the influence of the vaccination stations was made, based on the euclidean distance travelled by the animal owners. A non-probability sampling of the owners was carried out via questionnaire. The home addresses of the animals and of the vaccination stations were plotted on georeferenced maps. The distances travelled by the animal owners were significantly longer to the stationary station (average of 2.911 meters [2.479-3.343]) than to the mobile units (average of 712 meters [657-767]). The most frequently used mean of transportation to the stationary station was the car (76% [69,9-82,1%]), while most owners walked their animals to the mobile units (76% [74,2-77,8%]). In only 19% of the vaccination stations, all animal owners resided in the region under the supervision of SUVIS Lapa/Pinheiros, and the immunization of animals coming from other regions was a usual practice. The average age of the dogs was 5,8 years [5,7-6,0] and 51% of them were male. Regarding the participation in the vaccination campaign, 17% of the owners claimed to be the first vaccination of their dogs in the campaign. The average age of the cats was 4,1 years [3,9-4,4] and 57% of them were female. As for the participation, 35% of the owners claimed to be the first vaccination of their cats in the campaign. The average age of the dog owners was 40,38 years and 54% of them were women. Regarding the transportation, 73% [71,6-74,9%] of the owners walked their dogs to the vaccination station and 26% [24,7-28%] used cars. The average age of the cat owners was 39,85 years and 62% of them were women. As for their transportation, 63% [58,9-66,5%] of the owners walked and 35% [31,4-38,9%] used cars. The number of animals vaccinated in the region of SUVIS Lapa/Pinheiros in 2012 was the lowest of the last four campaigns, and there was a decrease of 34,1% in the total number of vaccinated animals in comparison with 2009, with a decrease of 35,8% for dogs and 25,6% for cats. Therefore, it is necessary to improve and adjust the vaccination strategy, mainly due to the socioeconomic differences in this area.

"O Sistema de Informações Hospitalares do Sistema Único de Saúde: subsídios para o uso de dados secundários em psiquiatria e saúde mental" / Single Health System Hospital Information System: Support for the use of secondary data in psychiatry and mental health.

Silva, Edilaine Cristina da 14 June 2004 (has links)
This study presented a method to obtain information about psychiatric hospitalization through the database of the Single Health System Hospital Information System (SIH-SUS), using the Internet. Data obtained through this method were analyzed in order the profile of psychiatric hospitalizations in Ribeirão Preto, between 1993 and 2002, to be constructed. On the basis of descriptive methodology, we elaborated a manual to obtain secondary data through the site of the Single Health System Information Technology Department (DATASUS). A step by step description was given about how to obtain the information through the main commands and screens as well as examples to illustrate how people interested (students, researchers or professionals) can acquire hospitalization data. The Ribeirão Preto profile showed that the number of hospitalizations decreased, while length of psychiatric hospitalizations increased, with prevalence of diagnoses related to schizophrenia, the age range between 20 and 49 years and male patients. Health indicators showed an increase in cost and confirmed a decrease in psychiatric hospitalizations. The produced knowledge is of help to get a picture of the mental health situation, allowing health professionals, what includes nurses, to access resources to guide their actions in teaching, research and care in psychiatry and mental health.

An integrated method of environmental assessment coupling a geographic information system to multi-criteria analyysis

Kurka, Thomas January 2014 (has links)
This thesis develops and applies an integrated method of environmental assessment that couples a geographic Information system (GIS) to Multi-Criteria Analysis (MCA), using bioenergy combustion and CHP sites as a case study. A literature review to identify the gaps in knowledge with respect to spatial MCA and GIS-based approaches to support decision-making and sustainability assessments shows the need for an approach to identify suitable locations for Combined Heat and Power (CHP) plants using bioenergy combustion and to analyse spatial aspects. CHP plants can improve the efficiency and sustainability of bioenergy generation because they are capable of producing and utilising both electrical and thermal energy. Identifying suitable locations for these, typically decentralised, plants is crucial but challenging because proximity to both feedstock supply and heat demand has to be considered. The thesis develops and applies a novel GIS-based approach to identify suitable locations for CHP bioenergy plants and to analyse spatial aspects. This work stands out as the principal novel contribution of the research presented in this thesis. The science-based technical assessment can be integrated in a formal and structured decision support framework (DSF) which could aid environmental decision-making. There is no single right way to conduct a decision-making process because every process is limited by resources and timelines. The environmental assessment case study described in this thesis uses a modified version of the MCA framework proposed by the Department for Communities and Local Government (2009). The GIS-based approach is integrated in this DSF to couple GIS to MCA. Additionally, specific attention is given to reviewing and selecting sustainability aspects (covering Criteria and Indicators) and MCA methods. These processes are also integrated in the DSF and can be seen as being part of the problem structuring phase of the DSF used in the research presented in this thesis. It is shown how the DSF is applied to assess alternatives for centralised and decentralised generation in a research case study region. By applying the different stages of the DSF, including the GIS-based approach, the selection processes and a selected MCA method (Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP)), it can be concluded that the decentralised alternatives should be preferred in the research case study scenarios if regional sustainable bioenergy generation wants to be archived. In the first scenario, the second alternative (A2) clearly dominates with an overall score of 71.82% (A1: 28.18%). However, the results are relatively close in the second scenario (A3: 56.62%, A4: 43.38%), which is mainly due to the similarity of the alternatives in the scenario. The sensitivity analyses show that the rankings of alternatives do not change in both scenarios unless major criteria weight variations or performance adjustments are made.

A case study on managing customer data to comply with GDPR

Hossain, Shahriar January 2019 (has links)
Abstract This bachelor thesis paper presents a case study on the technical actions undertaken by a company in order to manage its customers’ personal information in compliance to GDPR (General data protection regulation), a law that was introduced on the 25th May of 2018. GDPR imposes strict responsibilities on the companies dealing with personal information. Therefore, companies located in EU or handling personal information of EU citizen have to review and update their information handling process to comply according to the law. Companies failing to comply with GDPR can be subject to heavy penalty. This paper presents an in-depth picture of how a small company which is quite reliant on data processing adapts itself to the GDPR era when handling their customer’s personal data. The Order Department and the Technical Department within the case company, where most of the customer’s personal information is handled, were studied for this thesis. In conclusion, this case study identified seven different measures that the company undertook to comply with GDPR including periodical deletion of email letters, using separate email addresses for company internal messages, and tight restrictions on who can access what data. Moreover, two major challenges were identified: time and legacy. Time, because a small sized company cannot set off one staff to deal with everything related to GDPR but instead everyone has to take this regulation into consideration. The second challenge is legacy, because data routines before the GDPR were not strict.

Pires, Julio César Pinheiro January 2017 (has links)
Wind energy can be converted through small turbine, including for use in residential buildings and small trades, creating the distributed generation. Some benefits of generating electricity itself are still not known for most people. In Brazil, the receipt of energy credits for generating amount greater than the actual consumption is not disclosed properly by power utilities, let alone by regulators. Thus, this work presents a method for the development and the implementation of an information system for wind energy area. The system development process was derived from the RMM methodology for application development. From the proposed methodology, the system was implemented and made available to the general public. The system has a simulation application for wind energy generation. The simulation application is divided into seven sections where the user can know, for example, what are the dimensions of a wind turbine to supply its entire demand for electricity. In addition, the application informs features of four types of commercial and four non-commercial turbines, the amount of investment in equipment, return time investment and how much CO2 avoid with use of the simulated turbine. The proposed information system is being evaluated using two tools: Google Analytics to obtain information access to the system and Google Form, which allowed obtaining answers related to the general use of the system from an online evaluation questionnaire. In relation to the system access data, 5244 visualizations were obtained, including 1085 simulations performed in 243 monitored days. During this time, 1505 users from 9 countries accessed the system. Regarding the questionnaire, approximately two-thirds responded that they considered the application very intuitive and almost 72% of respondents consider investing in a system of own power generation after interacting with the system.

Caractéristiques des déterminants de performance : analyse en terme de cycle de vie de projets (SI) / Analysis of the performance during the life cycle of information system (IS)

Missaoui-Lourimi, Imen 14 March 2012 (has links)
This thesis focuses on the analysis of the performance during the life cycle of information system (IS) projects that requires change and transformation of the firm in evolutive contexts (economic, organizational, social). Our objective is to understand the process of establishment of IS projects and to identify the determinants of performance in the different phases of this process. We consider that the process of implementation is composed of three phases : starting, implementation and generalization. The theoretical framework mobilised is the Resource Based View (RBV) which underlining the role and the articulation of the resources especially through their complementarities for the determination of IS project performance. Based on qualitative and inductive research, we realized 28 semi-directive interviews in ten large French firms. The idea which is defended in this thesis is that the performance of IS project does not depend exclusively from the technological characteristics of a new information system but more widely on the context and environment in which they are established. We demonstrated that performance is function of the capacity to take into account a larger scope of determinants (financial rentability, organizational, managerial, human and social, technical and functional, strategic) identified in this thesis with different levels of importance according to the phase of project. The capacity of the firms to take into account a multidimensional nature of determinants of performance in the different phases of IS project is also likely to explain differences in performance levels.

Trajectoires d'adoption et d'appropriation de TIC issues du web en entreprise : une analyse empirique de la diffusion du web 2.0 en entreprise / Adoption and appropriation trajectories of web based ICT within enterprise : an empirical analysis of web 2.0

Guesmi, Samy 29 October 2012 (has links)
This thesis focuses on the recent trends witnessed on the web usually referred as “web 2.0” (orparticipative web). More specifically, this work takes an interest in the diffusion of web-basedcollaborative tools that stem from web 2.0 within organisations. Mobilizing literatures from thesociology of uses and management information system, this work pursue a twofold aim: to propose ananalysis of the different possible conditions of web 2.0’s adoption within enterprise, depending on theform it takes when it penetrates (natural or reconfigured), and try to draw upon this analysis to explainthe appropriation process. The two investigations that have been conducted on complementary fieldsenabled to develop a framework for a possible reading of the web 2.0 tools adoption andappropriation’s trajectories within enterprises. The first field focuses on the adoption andappropriation’s analysis of a two year old wiki used within an R&D department. This investigation isbased on a mixed methodology that puts together traffic data, qualitative and quantitative data. Thesecond field takes an interest in the decentralized coordination practices that is to say similar practicesas the one that takes place around web 2.0 tools while widened to other types of technologies. Taking apractice focus, this investigation tries to unravel the coordination equipment concretely employed byworkers presenting diverse profiles within enterprises of different kind. That second investigation isbased on a post survey realized after the survey Organisational Change and Computerization –Information and Communication Technologies conducted in 2006. The data gathered on these twofields led to propose three possible scenarios of web 2.0’s adoption and appropriation within enterprise:“the classical diffusion”, “the tinkering” and “the enterprise 2.0”. Based on an interpretive approach, these scenarios are at the same time feed by and confronted with the fields but are simply proposed as apossible reading of adoption and appropriation based on archetypes. This work proposes to widen thefield research of management information system and the tools it offers to take a better account of theemergence of new generations of tools within enterprise.

The implementation problems of Medical Information Systems / The implementation problems of Medical Information Systems

Inam Ul Haq, Muhammad, Ahmed, Rafiq January 2011 (has links)
The use of medical information systems is now prevailing in the whole healthcare environment where the focus is on reducing clinical errors and supporting healthcare professionals in their routine tasks. Hospitals adopt medical information systems to facilitate their healthcare staff in providing efficient services to patients. Studies show that most of the time these systems cannot deliver according to their functional capacities due to certain implementation problems. In this research, we have indicated different implementation problems, their root causes and suggested proper approaches for solving these issues. In the textual analysis, we examined different technical, psychological and social problems that may arise during the implementation process. These theoretical findings have been validated through questionnaires and interviews with doctors, nurses, technicians and people involved in the development of medical information systems. The companies that are providing implementation services are also consulted to validate the theoretical facts. The results show that implementation problems are social and psychological rather than technical, so these problems should be solved with interpersonal, psychological and social skills. The focus of the implementation process should be on the social, psychological and technical effects to avoid any conflict. Reasonable user involvement in the decision making process, motivation and proper training reduces many implementation issues automatically. It is concluded from empirical results that development and implementation teams should have reasonable medical domain knowledge to diminish future implementation and maintenance hazards. The theoretical and empirical results show that data security issues are psychological as well as technical and should be dealt with by high priority.

O uso das informações de big data na gestão de crise de marca / The use of big data information in the brand crisis managemant

Salvador, Alexandre Borba 06 August 2015 (has links)
The brand crises not only experience a growth in quantity but also now have increased their visibility through social networks. The impact of a brand crisis negatively affects the brand equity and short-term sales. It also generates costly campaigns to minimize its negative effect. If technological advancement increases the visibility of the crisis, it also provides access to a wealth of internal and external information that can help define an action plan. The term Big Data refers to the growth of information volume, diversification of formats and production and reception in real time, so that a traditional processing system could not store and analyze them. In the marketing environment, marketing information system (MIS) aims to provide information to the marketing decision maker. Relevance, reliability and availability of information is critical for the decision process. It also could ensures the leadership of the crisis management process. From the question \"what is the use of information from big data in brand crisis management?\" and in order to \"verify how managers make use of information from big data in crisis management\", this study exploratory empirical, qualitative, using interviews with marketing executives with experience in brand crisis management was elaborated. Interviews with six managers with experience in crisis and two experts made it possible to verify a big difference in the use of big data information on brand management of crises in the different stages of the crisis identified in the theoretical framework: identification and prevention, crisis management, recovery and improvement and learning.
