Integration and Coordination of Green Supply Chain

Shen, Yi-chun 22 August 2010 (has links)
With greater calls for environmental protection worldwide, countries have implemented rules such as RoHS, EuP, WEEE and REACH to regulate components of product materials and chemicals. Taiwanese firms should actively promote environmental protection and coordinate suppliers in various regions so as to improve green supply chain performance given that firms in supply chain are located around the world. This study, using qualitative interview, interviewed 7 leading Taiwanese companies that actively promote green supply chain and listed integration and coordination mechanisms often used. Integration and coordination of green supply chain used in Taiwan included: (1) setting up units responsible for promoting greening; (2) holding supplier meeting; (3) audit system of suppliers; (4) establishment of inter-departmental unit; (5) training for suppliers; (6) assisting suppliers; and (7) setting up information-sharing system. Location in supply chain, supply chain relationship and industry sectors determine uses and varieties of integration and coordination of green supply chain. They are as follows: 1.Location in supply chain: downstream firms have more and often use integration and coordination of green supply chain than upstream ones. 2.Supply chain relationship: central factories have more and often use integration and coordination of green supply chain than satellite ones. 3.Industry sectors: emerging strategic industries have more and often use integration and coordination of green supply chain than traditional ones.

OCP-AHB Bus Interface for SoC Integration

Kuo, Kuan-Fu 18 August 2011 (has links)
A reliable scheme to reuse IP (Intellectual Property) cores became an important issue to accelerate the development of embedded systems. Unfortunately the diverse characteristic of embedded systems which deep the difficulty of IP reuse. This thesis proposed the OCP-AHB bus interface architecture by designing a standard and general interface. The IP cores with OCP interface can plug-an-play in bus quickly. It solve the environment problems of the diverse embedded systems and the compatibility issues between IP cores and on-chip interconnections, so the IP reuse ability are raised and the IP designer can focus only on their designs. There are four different versions of OCP-AHB bus interface according to the input and output interface designs. The porposed OCP-AHB bus interface has the better performance and small hardware area when IP transfer data each others through the bus. The result show the proposed architecture can reduce the system integration and verification time and the proposed architecture are actually use in three-dimensional graphics (3D Graphics) processor application.

Enhanced 8-bit microcontroller and its SoC integration

Chang, Po-hsiang 17 March 2006 (has links)
The word ¡§3C products¡¨ means computation, communication and consumer electronics products. Particularly, consumer electronics products become one of the most important part of high technology industry. Recently, the properties of consumer electronics products tend to integrate powerful computation and communication abilities. Further more, the trend of more light, thin, short and small makes every kind of IC inside consumer electronics products highly integration. This tendency describe above brings embedded semiconductor providers a difficult problem. That is, we must improve the computation ability and function integration without increasing area overhead. The proposed method of this thesis is adding computation enhanced instructions in original instruction set without change basic architecture of microprocessor. Further, make a better design choice after analyzing different implement ways and considering their trade off between performance and cost. The goal is producing a powerful microprocessor which is improved the most with the least overhead. There are two directions in the result of this thesis. One is pure enhancing microprocessor computation ability. About 54% special operation execution time is reduced by adding operation enhanced instructions, but only taken 10% area cost. However, if 6.35% system frequency speeddown is acceptable, about 59% special operation execution time could be reduced. The other is the phenomenon after integrating In-Circuit Emulator (ICE) in microprocessor. Apparently, integrating debug mechanism doesn¡¦t change timing of whole system. However, it makes a great deal of circuit area overhead about 112%. This result shows that a system needs keep individual characters between microprocessor and ICE. A batter method of integrating ICE in system is using boundary scan cell in whole system.

The influence of M&A regarding the integration of the supporting line--A case study of the human resource department in financial holdings

Ou, Nai-ling 21 July 2006 (has links)
The purpose of M&A usually directs to the exploration of business scale and the decrease of operation cost. The post-merge integration not only emphasizes on the integration of business unit to increase the profit, but also on the centralization of supporting lines regarding similar function, in order to decrease the duplicated cost of workforce. Most of the research papers focus on the performance of M&A or the integration manners of business unit, however, few of the research points out how the supporting lines integrate with each other. Thus, this report intends to figure out the key points of the centralization of supporting lines thorough the integration of human resource division. The practice of the case study reveals that the success of the integration relies on the determination of senior management, which helps to facilitate the execution part. Meanwhile, the similarity of the operation process within the subsidiaries also contributes to the success of the integration. However, the failure of the integration results from the characteristics of the different industries and the resistance of the subsidiaries¡¦ HR managers rather than the issues concerned by the senior management or the project execution.

The Economic Relationship Between ASEAN and China:A Viewpoint of Integration Theory

yen, chinpen 29 July 2002 (has links)
During the Cold War, the world was dominated by two superpowers. In Eastern Asian, China and ASEAN members all had to choose to be close partners of each opposite group. Along with the rising of Japanese economy, the developing of glorious Asian Four Tigers, the democratizing of countries belonging to the Warsaw Treaty and the collapsing of the former Soviet Union, the world military powers have no longer fought against each other, and the force of economic development, replacing armaments expansion, has spread its area. The successful case of economic integration in Europe has spilled outwards its influence and has offered a pathway of rethinking for ASEAN and China to be integrated thanks to their close location. Owing to the forming of ASEAN on the 8th August 1967, in 1980s the growth rates of ASEAN economics have been maintained at around 8 percent. This successive strong growth for many years was such an outstanding performance, comparing to other economic areas around the world, and it has increasingly made people there rich and that Southeast Asia an area of vigorous economic development. Meanwhile, after the Third National Convention in November 1978, the economic system of China has taken revolutionary changes and opened up the Chinese economy to the outside world. Then, after Deng Xiaoping visited the southern China in 1992, China gave up the arguments whether taking capitalism or maintaining socialism, and therefore its economy has became a huge dragon to be an important focus of ASEAN. Since then, the trade relationship between China and ASEAN has been interacting more frequently than ever before. Although the financial crisis was spread in ASEAN in 1997, currencies of those countries were devalued dramatically and it influenced, therefore, their economic growths extremely. However, during this crisis, China government announced strongly that Renminbi would not devalue for sure, and this currency strategy helped ASEAN escape from the financial crisis quickly. After that period, the Dialogue of Ten plus Three has accelerated the economic integration of China and ASEAN. After the Cold War, economic strength of area is one of the main features of power that help a nation to compete with others around world. In 1990s, due to the close location and rapid economic development of ASEAN and China, the trade, investment and co-operation between two sides have been increasing at a high speed. The purpose of this research is to explore, from the perspective of Neo- function-overflow theory, whether China and ASEAN have had on the way to area integration.

The logic of regionalism: a comparative study of regionalism in Europe and Asia

Kim, Mi-Kyung 17 February 2005 (has links)
Why do some states develop deeper regionalism while others do not? Comparing European and Asian regionalism, this study provides an alternative explanation of different types of regionalism and the national variations in regionalization since the mid 1980s. It defines regionalism as a strategy pursued by a state that desires to enhance its governability of the national economy when market authority outgrows state authority. The rise of regionalism in the neoliberal world economic order changes the balance between the state’s public power and the state’s market governability, consequently resulting in a political convergence toward a majoritarian political system based on individualism and delegative democracy. However, regionalism is realized in very distinctive patterns across different regions as the different historical paths of regional capitalism shape the state-society relationship and the state’s capability of governing the national economy. European welfare states developed a deeper regionalism because they sought to impose a neoliberal economic transformation on their societies by shifting their economic priority of equality and economic policy making based on social concertation toward efficiency and the formation of an encompassing distributional coalition. In contrast, Asian developmental states prefer preserving national autonomy to relying on a formal regional institution to constrain states’ national authority because they are more capable of implementing the neoliberal economic transformation in terms of market governability and the formation of encompassing distributional coalitions.

Tung, Chia-ming 01 July 2009 (has links)
Abstract The global financial tsunami is the biggest news yet so far. The US sub-prime mortgage crisis unveil the defects of the current financial system which causes the plummeting economic consumptions and market demands, trickling down to the diving productivity and reinvestment. Enterprises shift their focus to intra-restructuring and cost-cutting in order to stay afloat. This action thus worsens the unemployment and the recession; the vicious cycle pushes the world further down to the financial crisis. Even blue-chip enterprises with high yield and performance history felt the pinch in this economic downturn. This dissertation investigates whether and how Corp. A, which is a prominent supplier of specialized EDI instrument for ultra pure water application, should alter the tactics of company management to weather the storm; meanwhile, providing advisory and material for single product specializing suppliers who facing the challenge of the time¡Vor prior to the challenge took place, to both enhancing the corporate internal stewardship and obtain the workable plans such as the capability of hedging risks and earning sustainable profits. This report concluded the following actions should be taken for Corp. A: 1. EDI is the core product for Corp. A; the company should keep putting in the meticulous efforts such as using the edge of replacing traditional process, massive potential profits and high technology to remain differentiating this product from the competitors, 2. EDI should expand its field to a broader usage in the current market. It is now commonly used but restricted in the application of pure, ultra pure water in the industries of electronic, energy and pharmaceutical, the values of EDI can be volatile by only relying on these areas, a broader market usage of EDI will bring in the market stability. 3. Through integration and strategy to best utilize all the gathered resources, diversifying the products and management approach to avert the risks in the current market. Key Word: EDI, differentiate, resources integration, diversify
