Význam poznávacích procesů pro tvorbu umělé inteligence / Meaning of cognitive processes for creating artificial intelligenceSmutný, Zdeněk January 2009 (has links)
This diploma thesis brings an integral view at cognitive processes connected with artificial intelligence systems, and makes a comparison with the processes observed in nature, including human being. A historical background helps us to look at the whole issue from a certain point of view. The main axis of interest comes after the historical overview and includes the following: environment -- stimulations -- processing -- reflection in the cognitive system -- reaction to stimulation; I balance the approach and the limited potential of the human being against the machine (or artificial intelligence). In the last part, there are introduced two projects that have been already implemented in the inteligent transport systems, and their potential for the further expansion and development is shown here. The main emphasis is placed on the coherence between each part of this thesis and cognitive processes, and on the relation and the mutual dependence of these processes.

Recent debates on the concepts of cognitive capitalism, the knowledge draw a new view of organizations, in which the main source of wealth creation now lies in the knowledge and skills, rather than in material resources. In this respect the issue of conservation of memory organizations, funding, preservation, codification and sharing of knowledge call for a new type of management: called the Knowledge Management which has gradually become a research area full expansion in the world of private and public organizations. Our research on the knowledge management within the PACA Regional Council is in this context. Indeed knowledge management becomes a strategic element in territorial management by giving local players an efficient visibility to help decision making.

Previous issue date: 2008-05-09 / The purpose of this research was to investigate if the communication and interactivity provided by a groupware, on a contextualized and problematized situation, may constitute a way to promote the construction of knowledge. The research involved students at the disciplines of Administrative Thinkink History, Financial Management I e Financial Management II, from the Business School of a private University at São Paulo State, using internet as pedagogical supporting tool to complement presencial studies. The methodology proposed was a case study focused on a scholar learning context. The data was collected combining participant observation and students personal testimonials using a non-structured interview. The analysis appealed to a text deconstruction of the interview corpus, fragmented on sense unitys that contained useful meanings to the research purpose, classified on four categories. The categories Time and virtual environment; Communication and Context represented partial arguments to validate the category Construction of Knowledge, which is the thesis, and therefore, the purpose of the search. The results provided an evidence that virtual environment has extended time and space for live environment classes, increasing communication and the possibility of exchanging information and ideas on interpersonal relationship basis. The groupware provided a way to gather people on the construction of knowledge; allows interactivity among cognitive persons that may, together, conceive and transform a known world; facilitate information exchange on conversation nets. The category Context analysis showed that reflection over arguments that comes from different points of view becomes richer when it is contextualized on a located and chronologysed situation. On the construction of knowledge, we presented that it occurs by debate and conversation about reality and its context, demanding comprehension and understanding of individual points of view on a collective and dynamic situation. The groupware is a conversation tool, an appropriated environment for an educational process anchored on communication, context and information.

Belief revision theory studies how rational agents change their beliefs after receiving new information. The most in uential work in this area is the paper of Alchourron, Gardenfors and Makinson. In this work, known as AGM paradigm rationality criteria for belief change were dened. Since then, the eld has been in uenced by many areas like philosophy, computer science and law. Parallel to the development of belief revision eld, in the past 20 years there was a huge grow in the study of description logics. The climax of this development was the adoption of OWL (a language based on description logics) as the standard language to represent ontologies on the web. In this work we deal with the problem of applying belief revision in to non-classical logics, specially description logics. Recent works showed that the AGM paradigm is not compliant with several description logics. We have extended this work by showing that other logics are not compliant with AGM paradigm. Furthermore, we propose alternative ways to apply belief revision techniques to these logics. Finally, we show that well known algorithms from the area of ontology debugging eld can be used to implement the proposed constructions.

Exploring Strategies for Adapting Traditional Vehicle Design Frameworks to Autonomous Vehicle DesignMunoz, Alex 01 January 2020 (has links)
Fully autonomous vehicles are expected to revolutionize transportation, reduce the cost of ownership, contribute to a cleaner environment, and prevent the majority of traffic accidents and related fatalities. Even though promising approaches for achieving full autonomy exist, developers and manufacturers have to overcome a multitude of challenged before these systems could find widespread adoption. This multiple case study explored the strategies some IT hardware and software developers of self-driving cars use to adapt traditional vehicle design frameworks to address consumer and regulatory requirements in autonomous vehicle designs. The population consisted of autonomous driving technology software and hardware developers who are currently working on fully autonomous driving technologies from or within the United States, regardless of their specialization. The theory of dynamic capabilities was the conceptual framework used for the study. Interviews from 7 autonomous vehicle hard and software engineers, together with 15 archival documents, provided the data points for the study. A thematic analysis was used to code and group results by themes. When looking at the results through the lens of dynamic capability theory, notable themes included regulatory uncertainty, functional safety, rapid iteration, and achieving a competitive advantage. Based on the findings of the study, implications for social change include the need for better regulatory frameworks to provide certainty, consumer education to manage expectations, and universal development standards that could integrate regulatory and design needs into a single approach.

Empatie učitele a žáků / The teacher's and the pupils' empathyKryllová, Kateřina January 2021 (has links)
The subject of this thesis is the teacher's and the pupils' skill of empathy and its connection to the effectiveness of the learning process. In the theoretical part of the thesis the author defines empathy and states the issue of its definition. The author also focuses on the topic of development of empathy and how it is connected to the safe classroom environment. Also, the factors that influence the level of empathy within a person are explained. The thesis describes the role of empathy in the communication of a teacher and the pupils and how communication blocks obstruct expressions of empathy. The influence of empathy in the educational process is described on areas where emotions of the pupils play a key role. The thesis describes the possibilities of the teacher's development of empathy as well as practices that allow this development with the students of first five grades in elementary school. The aim of the empirical part is to find out how the future teachers view empathy. The research is aimed at finding out how students of education define empathy, whether they think it can be cultivated, whether teachers can influence the level of empathy of their students and if so, how. The second aim of the empirical part is to create and teach a lecture that would bring a deeper understanding of...
