The purpose of this study was to quantitatively investigate if workload, job satisfaction and work engagement could contribute to employees’ intention to quit in healthcare and which factor contributes this to the highest degree. A questionnaire was sent out to all 21 regions in Sweden and to private hospitals, and was shared on LinkedIn and Facebook. The criterion for participating in the study was that the respondents should work in healthcare with direct patient contact and a total of 67 responses were received. The questionnaire was based on questions from the Copenhagen Psychosocial Questionnaire (COPSOQ III) och Ulrecht Work Engagemant Scale (UWES). The results showed that workload, job satisfaction and work engagement together contribute employees’ intention to quit in healthcare. The factor that contributes intention to quit to the highest degree was job satisfaction.

Orientador: Elaine Pereira da Silva Tagliaferro / Resumo: O trabalho está dividido em duas publicações cujos objetivos foram: a) realizar uma revisão integrativa da literatura, identificando e descrevendo a intenção de amamentar em gestantes e fatores associados (Publicação 1); b) investigar o nível da intenção de amamentar e variáveis associadas entre gestantes que estão no terceiro trimestre de gravidez (Publicação 2). Para a Publicação 1, foram consultadas as bases de dados Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online (PubMed/Medline), Literatura Latino-Americana e do Caribe em Ciências da Saúde (Lilacs) e Scopus, através dos descritores intenção/intention and aleitamento materno/breastfeeding or breast feeding por três revisores independentes. A Publicação 2 é um estudo observacional transversal, realizado mediante a coleta de dados em entrevista e questionário semi-estruturado e autoadministrado. A pesquisa foi realizada com 653 gestantes no terceiro trimestre de gestação. Para a variável resposta intenção de amamentar foi utilizada a escala Infant Feeding Intentions (IFI), traduzida e adaptada para o português do Brasil. As variáveis independentes incluíram características demográficas e socioeconômicas, da gestação, do aleitamento materno, da família, de assistência à saúde, biológicas e hábitos. CHOICE OVERLOAD AND PURCHASE INTENTION AMONG MILLENNIAL RURAL AND URBAN CONSUMERS

Many researchers have studied the interaction between choice overload and purchase intention resulting in mixed and sometimes contradictory results. This study extended the current knowledge and examined how rurality (rural vs. urban/suburban) among millennial consumers influences choice overload and purchase intention when presented with extensive or limited options. Using both quantitative survey data and qualitative interviews, the author studied consumer experiences to understand choice overload and purchase intention better. Overall, some of the results suggest a statistical difference between rural and urban/suburban participants in their feelings of choice overload. However, many of the results were small and unlikely to be of practical significance. Additionally, the interviews were analyzed and multiple themes emerged, including possible factors that may support prior meta-analytic conclusions about the nuance of choice overload.

Critical Care Nurse Intentions to Report to Work During an Influenza Pandemic:

The unpredictability of pandemics necessitates plans that will allow registered nurses to expand current capacity to care for ill individuals. It has been documented that personnel resources, often nurses, are a limiting factor in the health care system’s ability to care for large influxes of patients. Prior research has shown that an outbreak of an infectious disease, such as influenza, may lead to healthcare workers (HCWs) intentionally staying out of work. The potential increase in patient demand coupled with a decrease in the number of critical care nurses reporting to work will strain the ability of healthcare systems to meet the needs of patients. To date, research has not studied critical care nurses’ intentions to report to work during a pandemic influenza. PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to examine the percent of critical care nurses that intend to report to work during an influenza pandemic. Covariates that may influence CCNs intention to report included personal, professional, and employer characteristics. Additionally, the impact of threat (perceived susceptibility to influenza and perceived severity of an influenza pandemic) and efficacy (perceived self-efficacy and perceived efficacy of the overall response) on intentions were analyzed. METHODS: A cross-sectional and descriptive design was utilized. Participants were recruited through the American Association of Critical Care Nurses. The final sample totaled 245 critical care nurses from across the United States. The participants completed an adapted version of the Johns Hopkins Public Health Infrastructure Response Survey Tool (JH~PHIRST) as well as personal demographics and information on their primary employer. Data were analyzed using bivariate methods and logistic regression. RESULTS: This study found that nearly 87% of CCNs intend to report during a pandemic flu, but this number drops to 78% if severity of the pandemic is factored in and further declines to 63% if the CCNs are asked to work extra. Perceived self-efficacy is a primary factor in explaining CCNs intend to report to work. CCNs with high perceived self-efficacy were6.221 (95% CI: 2.638-14.673) times more likely to report than those with low perceived self-efficacy. Perceived self-efficacy continues to significantly impact intentions to report to work when the severity of the pandemic is considered as well as when CCNs are asked to work extra. CCNs with high perceived self-efficacy are consistently, significantly more likely to intend to report than those with low perceived self-efficacy. CONCLUSION: Perceived self-efficacy is related to CCN intentions to report to work during a pandemic flu emergency. How do consumers’ perceptions change when greenwashing is revealed?

Background: The emergence and growth of the green economy has prompted companies to take more steps towards becoming environmentally conscious, but this is not always done in an honest way, from which cases of greenwashing has emerged. Cases of greenwashing can be recognized in all areas of business, and most of the research at the moment only recognizes the effect of a greenwashing case on consumer behavior, missing the link of consumer perceptions. The existing case study research also focuses on the attitudes after the fact, not investigating how a consumer reacts to the information during the revelation of a company’s misconduct.   Purpose: The purpose of this thesis is to investigate the connection between the concept of greenwashing and consumer perceptions, and thus the decisions consumers take based on the level of information they possess.   Method: The research is conducted as an interpretivist qualitative case study based on a single imaginary case, where the data is gathered through triangulation of previous existing literature and observations from semi-structured interviews, analyzed through abductive reasoning.   Conclusion: The research found that when a consumer is presented with information about a company and their initiatives, the perceptions that the consumer has change accordingly. The perceptions are dependent on the level of interest the consumer has in sustainability issues. Some findings that were not expected considered the partial effect of the sustainability initiatives, showing that consumers are only interested in green initiatives up to their personal constraints or preferences. The consumers largely see the motivations of a company to be attributed to profits, however, some more optimistic consumers seem to be less affected by greenwashing.

En esta investigación se plantea los elementos del visual merchandising interno en relación a la intención de compra en tiendas por departamento en la categoría de ropa para niños, puesto que en los últimos años esta técnica ha ido cambiando a través del tiempo generando nuevas experiencias a los consumidores. Esta investigación busca evaluar las variables del visual merchandising interno de este punto de venta en esa categoría con la finalidad de determinar si presentaban una relación con la intención de compra o no. La metodología de investigación expuesta es correlacional. El estudio estuvo divido en dos etapas, la primera con enfoque cualitativo donde se presenta los resultados de las entrevistas a profundidad al público objetivo primario padres de familia y al público objetivo secundario a los expertos en el tema. En segundo enfoque es cuantitativo donde se desarrolla una encuesta y se corrobora con lo investigado anteriormente. El resultado de la investigación muestra que todas las variables del visual merchandising interno presenta una correlación con la intención de compra. Sin embargo, cuatro de estas variables iluminación, color, presentación de productos y decoración presentan una correlación media. Mientras que, el diseño de tienda presenta una correlación débil por lo cual no se podría concluir con certeza cuál es la correlación real entre esta variable. / In this research, the elements of visual internal merchandising are proposed in relation to the intention to buy in department stores in the category of children's clothing, since in recent years this technique has been changing over time generating new experiences for consumers. This research seeks to evaluate the internal visual merchandising variables of this point of sale in that category in order to determine if they had a relationship with the intention of purchase or not. The research methodology presented is correlational. The study was divided into two stages, the first with a qualitative approach where the results of the in-depth interviews are presented to the primary target audience, parents and the secondary target audience to experts in the field. In the second approach, it is quantitative where a survey is developed and corroborated with what was previously investigated. The result of the investigation shows that all the variables of the visual internal merchandising have a correlation with the intention of purchase. However, four of these variables lighting, color, product presentation and decoration have a medium correlation. Meanwhile, the store design has a weak correlation, so it cannot be concluded with certainty what the real correlation between this variable is. / Trabajo de investigación

Studien har som syfte att beskriva de faktorer som påverkar lärares intentioner när de väljer spel som undervisningsmetod i matematikundervisningen. Dels de mål som lärare har med spel som undervisningsmetod som påverkar intentionen, men även förutsättningarna som finns för att kunna välja spel som undervisningsmetod. Studiens resultat bygger på en enkätundersökning. Datan har sedan behandlats och analyserats utifrån en tematisk analys.  Resultatet visar att lärare har mål kring elevers lärande, både att eleverna ska utveckla matematiska förmågor men även att de ska påverkas affektivt av metodvalet. Lärare har även avsikter gällande hur eleverna ska arbeta. Vidare påverkar yttre faktorer lärares intentioner. Dessa är kollegor, tid samt tillgång till lokaler samt analogt och digitalt spelmaterial

PRIDE AND PREJUDICE : A NEW VERSION OF ENTREPRENEURIAL INTENTION

The purpose of this thesis is to present an empirical finding in the area of culture and entrepreneurial intention. The author developed an entrepreneurial culture measure regard to values of proudness and prejudice based on the data from the World Values Survey. Entrepreneurial intention as the dependent variable was draw from Global Entrepreneurship Monitor Consortium (GEM) ’s 2006 dataset. The data sample contains 27 countries. The result shows the newly developed culture measure is negatively correlated with entrepreneurial intention, which means countries have high level of prejudice towards certain social groups such as women or immigrants could lead to lower level of entrepreneurial intention. A series of robustness tests were conducted to test the fitness of the model. In general these tests do support the robustness of the finding. However as for the shortage of the small sample size, future research is still needed to confirm this finding.

Musikskaparens intention och lyssnarens reception

I mitt arbete har jag utforskat skillnaden mellan min intention och lyssnares reception av två musikaliska verk som jag skapat. Som grund till detta arbete har jag använt jag mig av två låtar skrivna av mig själv och mina kollegor till vårat gemensamma musikprojekt. Via tankar om analyser av musikinspelningar ur Gunnar Ternhags bok “Vad är det jag hör?” (2009) där han belyser två analysmodeller - intentionsanalys (skaparens baktanke) och receptionsanalys (vad lyssnaren upplever) - har jag gett min bild av hur dessa inspelningar har blivit till och i vilket syfte för att sedan låta inspelningarna lyssnas på och analyseras av lyssnare via ett formulär. Arbetet innehåller redogörelse för musikens intention från skaparen, och musikens reception från lyssnare. Där emellan intentionen och receptionen uppkom nyttiga lärdomar om hur jag som musikskapare kommunicerar. Resultatet av arbetet visade att de 22 deltagare i undersökningen i stor grad upplevde mina intentioner med musiken. Undersökningen bidrog till större insyn i mina kommunikativa färdigheter inom musikskapande. En sådan lärdom var att musikaliska inspirationskällor till musiken kan upplevas väldigt annorlunda beroende på vilken lyssnare som hör musiken. Låtarna som har analyserats heter “Love Me in a Hurry” och “Bumblebee” och är del av ett större album som jag arbetat med det senaste året.
