It will seek to handle the principal hermeneutical keys of Moltmann s ecclesiology. For it understands that his ecclesiology designs a concept of church in open dimensions, i.e., a church that demands to be aware of what occurs in society and be part of it, having commitment and significant inclusion in the major issues raised by contemporary culture. By his theological categories, Moltmann contributes towards the achievement of thinking about an ecclesiology with open dimensions, also to the development of the praxis, which is more consistent within the context of the community of faith. For this, considering that Moltmann s reflections can contribute to Brazilian ecclesiological context, the research chooses to compare the main ecclesiological aspects of the author with the Baptist way of life in Brazil, and uses authors of consensus in the Baptist universe in which they produce theological reflection for the church. In addition to the bibliographical sources, the research will consider the Brazilian Baptist Church theological thinking on the Doctrinal Statement of the Brazilian Baptist Convention, trying to point out ways that are liable to theological reflection and pastoral contribution critiques / A pesquisa pretende tratar de um tema na produção acadêmica do teólogo alemão Jürgen Moltmann, sua eclesiologia.

"When Freedom is Close": Jürgen Moltmann's Use of Contradiction in his Trilogy

Best, Daniel S. 17 March 2015 (has links)

Jürgen Moltmann's trilogy-Theology of Hope, The Crucified God, and The Church in the Power of the Spirit-is pervaded by the concept of "contradiction." Secondary literature commonly alludes to his theology of contradiction, describing his theology as "dialectical," but the literature rarely analyzes it comprehensively. This thesis seeks to fill this lack. It argues that in Moltmann's trilogy God creates and fosters in the world three different types of contradiction (objective, subjective and active) through three different means (God's promises, his crucifixion, and the work of his Spirit in and through the Church) in order to accomplish his purposes. The inductive sections of the thesis show that contradiction exists in nearly every chapter of each book. The systematic sections show contradiction is central to the main systematic theological topics of the trilogy. Understanding Moltmann's theology of contradiction this way allows for clearer interpretation of his theology as a whole.
/ Thesis / Master of Arts (MA)

Silva, Francisco Arcanjo da 11 September 2014 (has links)

No. of bitstreams: 1 Francisco Arcanjo da Silva.pdf: 1481200 bytes, checksum: 1fb0a85bbb96e822eab762e7ec38c4d0 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2014-09-11 / At the thought of Jürgen Moltmann, this research develops an approach to the theology of the cross, giving the cross as Trinitarian event. In his Trinity and the Kingdom of God works , Moltmann interprets an open Trinitarian doctrine. Doctrine sensitive to history with its vicissitudes, falls and uplifting, aches and cross. The understanding of Christian dogma is central, because it is the essence of the Christian faith. In The Crucified God , expressed radical love of God that is understood in its pathos revealed in Jesus Christ, presented in the understanding of crucifixion as an inner Trinitarian event between the Father and the Son, where what happens on the cross was an event between God and God. This work also permeates the entire dissertation. The Kingdom of God, radical content of the Trinitarian theology of Moltmann, appears on the Christology of the Way of Jesus Christ. The reflection made this book points out the route of the Father, the Son, is in the story, and the path of history that in Christ, God intended for. This approach explains the uniqueness of the Christian God who creates saves and sanctifies man and all creation. In The Spirit of Life , Moltmann develops his pneumatology. It is stated that in His Spirit, God is not outside but within the human heart and their experiences. Also develops an eschatology that read in Trinitarian perspective points the future as the reality that illuminates the past and the present of history and life. Hence the fellowship with Christ means suffering and active participation in the history of God. Your criterion is the story of the crucified and risen Christ. It is, in this approach, a hermeneutic thought of Jürgen Moltmann. The main objective is to demonstrate the theology of the cross in his Trinitarian view showing the cross of Christ as the foundation and criticism of Christian theology / A partir do pensamento de Jürgen Moltmann, esta pesquisa desenvolve uma abordagem sobre a Teologia da Cruz, atribuindo a cruz como evento trinitário.

A Suffering Humanity and a Suffering God : A feminist analysis of Dorothee Soelle and Jürgen Moltmann

Salomonsson, Olivia January 2020 (has links)
The aim of this study is to explore questions regarding the concept of suffering and the relationship between a suffering world and a suffering God. The theology of Dorothee Soelle and Jürgen Moltmann are presented and then analysed through the feminist-theological lens of Rita Nakashima Brock and Rebecca Ann Parker. The feminist-theological perspective is used to highlight the theological strengths and weaknesses of Soelle and Moltmann. The issues of suffering can be found all through human history and across all religious views or life stances. Soelle and Moltmann show that to create a sustainable theology regarding suffering there needs to be an awareness of what image of God is presented. The conclusion of the study is that both Soelle and Moltmann use the term “apathy” throughout the theology that has been presented. The concept is regarded as a hindrance to forming and maintaining relationships and being able to sympathise with the suffering party. This hinderance is present both in the relationships between humans and between God and humanity. The focus of Soelle and Moltmann lies in the interpretation of God the Father and how the Father relates to the suffering of humanity. The importance of how the suffering of the Son is regarded is presented through the feminist theology of Brock and Parker. According to Brock and Parker, the church needs to examine how the suffering of Jesus is presented. If the suffering of Jesus is presented as an example of how suffering should be endured then the concept of Jesus willingly suffering might put pressure on the suffering individual to stay in the context that causes suffering.

Dytynyshyn, David 11 1900 (has links)
For a pastor in the Christian Evangelical tradition, it is difficult to explain how a believer, who once loved and served God with passion, finds that a few years later his motivation directed towards God has waned. Though using different terminology, coaches ask essentially the same question concerning some of their athletes. How can they incite those under their supervision to perform in light of their full potential? If motivation is the motor of behaviour, for the majority of people emotions are the steering wheel. People, by nature, tend to steer their behaviour in a direction that reinforces desirable emotions and avoids those that are undesirable. This is true for both athletes and believers. This thesis proposes a reflection on motivation as it relates to two fields of study: theology and psychology. More precisely it looks at the subject of pleasure, motivation, and human action in the areas of modern sport and spirituality, with the intention of shedding new light on our problem. The first few chapters seek to identify the common ground between sport and spirituality (chapter 1), and to situate our problem in its anthropological context by defining the basic concepts of emotion (chapter 2) and motivation (chapter 3) according to modern psychology. The chapters that follow examine motivation from an understanding of sport psychology (chapter 4) before moving on to its counterpart from a theological perspective (chapter 5) by consulting two protestant theologians: Jürgen Moltmann of a liberal persuasion and John Piper, a conservative evangelical. Though contemporary psychology is known as being a discipline fixed in a Darwinian or Humanist paradigm which disassociates from any theological understanding of human beings, chapter 6 presents examples of how a theological discussion, outside of empirical confirmation, may bring a complementary vision to contemporary psychology and contribute to the well being of both athlete and believer. The chapter also proposes how an understanding of psychology, acceptable to an evangelical interpretation, may shed light on the possible changes in motivation a believer may experience in his love and service for God. The last chapter projects the ideas of this study to other fields of interest such as Bible study, the counseling of believers and athletes, and the work of military chaplains.

Hymner för redan frälsta : Om lidande och hopp i Den svenska psalmboken / Hymns for the already saved : About suffering and hope in The Swedish hymn book.

Ed, Birgitta January 2021 (has links)

A hermenêutica política da esperança de Jürgen Moltmann em diálogo com a espiritualidade neoprotestante brasileira : o binômio saúde e doença como um novo paradigma hermenêutico de teologicidade / Jürgen Moltmanns politics of hope hermeneutic in dialogue with the Brazilian neoprotestant spirituality : the binomial health-disease as a new hermeneutic paradigm of theologizing

Anderson Clayton Pires 26 June 2007 (has links)
O tema central desta tese é a esperança escatológica. / The central subject of this thesis is the escathological hope. Through a Historic-Biblical research, the author of this thesis searchs to identify the meaning that the concepts tiqwah and elpis had for their Jewish-Christians receivers originary. Jürgen Moltmann, when propose a politic of hope hermeneutic searchs to retake this subject leaving from the contexts in which it has originated. All the Christian hope conception developed by Moltmann has its unfoldings in the public dimension of the Christians mission in the world. Therefore, the escathological hope produces an ethology that it is proper to itself. In it, the hope is instrumentalized by the faith that assumes the world as locus of transformer action, becoming, through the practical of love, the cosmo-anthropologycal redemption a reachable possibility in the efetivation of the ethical principles of justice and truth. In this direction, in the ethology of hope, the other becomes reference of the missio spei, and its for it, as a part of a bigger reality (kósmos), that the redentive meaning of escathological history is directed teleologically. It is to the future that the eschatological hope projects its look and desires to see its uthopy carry through fully. Already the binomial health-disease as new hermeneutic paradigm of teologicity of Brazilian neoprotestantism, conceives the hope in a different soteriologic contour, in which the lived present, here-now, is understood as the locus where the historical dimension of the believer`s salvation materializes. The integral cure of the anthrôpos is the forceful sign that the Biblical soteria has, in the immediate historical dimension, its psychosomatic meaning completely confirmed. Its for this éon that the neoprotestant look of faith search its integral auto-accomplishment. In this direction, the neoprotestant spirituality develops a desescathologized ethology that affirms the transcendence of this world and loses of its hermeneutic horizon the futuric dimension of the eschatological hope such as if it praised in the protochristianism. However, the possibility to establish a constructive dialogue enters these two faith epistemologies: the moltmannian and the Brazilian neoprotestant exists. Finding this point in common its the task that the author of this thesis proposes to satisfy.
