An automated tool for website security assessment : Demonstration on Swedish authorities’ websites

Valdaserides Olofsson, Max, Stengård, Malte January 2024 (has links)
The evolution of internet has affected society in many ways. Organizations and authorities offer their services on their many corresponding websites. Consequently, secure connections to these websites are a necessity, in addition to continuously evaluate their security. Many studies exist on website security analysis of some set of websites and it is found that researchers often develop and utilize several toolsand scripts for their studies - one for collecting data, one for parsing the output, and one for visualizing the data. Undoubtedly, this whole process is labor intensive, and for this reason we in this thesis propose a tool that automates this whole process. Moreover, the Swedish authorities and their corresponding websites provide information and services regarding their specific areas of expertise that are essential for the functioning of the Swedish society. As such, this puts a high expectation of the usage of state-of-the-art security technology and best practice implementations on these websites in order to keep the Swedish society functioning and keep their websites’ visitors safe. For this reason, we in this thesis focus on mainly two things: 1. Design and develop a tool that will be easy to use to collect a set of websites’ security parameter implementations and best practices, and thereafter automatically and adequately visualize this data to assess the websites’ security readiness; and 2. Demonstrate the developed tool on the Swedish authorities’ websites to assess their website security readiness. The result shows a good overall security in the Swedish authorities’ websites, though there is room for improvement.

A Pedagogical Analysis and Practice Method of the Piano Suite "Long and Short" (1984) by Quan Ji-Hao

Chen, Mengyiyi 05 1900 (has links)
Quan Ji-Hao is a Chinese contemporary composer who has created significant musical works of different genres. His work includes symphonies, chamber music, and piano pieces. His style combines Chinese ethnic music with Western composition techniques, with unique results. This thesis aims to give a pedagogical perspective by analyzing the musical and technical challenges of Quan Ji-Hao's piano suite Long and Short (1984), offering a practical practice method and introducing the fusion of Eastern and Western musical elements. This piece offers pianists an opportunity to explore diverse cultures and deepen musical understanding. Chapter 2 provides a brief biography of the composer, his music style, and the origin of the title of the piano suite Long and Short (1984). Chapter 3 offers a structural analysis of the suite to give an overall impression to the reader. Chapter 4 explains the musical challenges of contemporary harmonies in this suite, comparing them to similar ideas in works of Western composers and offering suggestions for teaching them. Chapter 5 analyses the technical challenges in the work as well as offering teaching suggestions. Chapter 6 includes practice methods to improve accuracy in performance and maintain a stable tempo.

WHY ARE BLACK WOMEN EXECUTIVES LEAVING CORPORATE AMERICA BEFORE REACHING THE C-SUITE?

Dutton, Michelle Brown, 0009-0009-6682-5316 05 1900 (has links)
Despite ample research in the fields of organizational behavior and human resource management regarding employee decisions to voluntarily opt out of corporate leadership positions, there is little research exploring the personal experiences of black women in U.S. companies contemplating leaving executive positions. This research leverages a qualitative interpretative phenomenological study to explore why Black women corporate leaders in the United States are leaving corporate America before reaching the C-Suite. Two studies were conducted to understand the lived experiences of Black women executives in U.S. Fortune 500 companies; moreover, study two further explored and detangled some of the themes from Study One to understand the experiences of the black women leaders in the pipeline for senior management more deeply. The findings identify several environmental factors, explored in depth in this dissertation, that impact executives’ decision to leave corporate America. The findings provide a foundation to understand further the impact of the corporate environment resulting in the loss of top diverse talent in this understudied demographic. These findings also provide critical information for the Black woman executive currently working in corporate America as well as those who have opted to leave early and would like to better digest their experiences. / Business Administration/Human Resource Management

Jacobs, Maciel Gilmar January 2017 (has links)
The integration of geological mapping, petrographic and geochemical studies allowed the characterization of the petrological evolution of the Encruzilhada do Sul Granite. This massif occurs in the northern part of the Pelotas Batholith, eastern portion of the Dom Feliciano Belt. The Encruzilhada do Sul Granite present chemical mixing relations with the formation of hybrid granitoids and physical mixing with mafic rocks represented by diorites and mafic microgranulares enclaves. Geochemical data indicate the tholeiitic composition of mafic magmatism and that granitic rocks are A-type. The petrographic and compositional pattern zonation generated from a single cooling magma chamber and defined by porphyritic monzo to granodiorite, rich in mafic enclaves, on the eastern and western border, transitioning to heterogranular syeno and monzogranites, rich in quartz and poor in mafic minerals in the central portion. An equigranular facies composed by syenogranites occurs in the northern central portion, representing the partially preserved top of the magma chamber. The emplacement of the granite was controlled by an extensional kinematic phase of the regional Dorsal do Canguçu Shear Zone, which allowed the rise of magmas up to superior levels of a crust. The data suggest that the generation of the suite took place in the post-collisional period of Dom Feliciano orogeny and was associated with partial melting of a granulite crust promoted by increased of the geothermal gradient by the mafic magmas from the mantle. The high temperature conditions of the magmas allowed the chemical mixing between felsic and mafic poles at an early stage of crystallization. The evolution of crystallization modified the viscosity and density of the magmas and favors the development of mingling structures.

La Suite du Roman de Merlin éditée d'après un manuscrit du XVe siècle : (Paris, BNF, fr. 112) / The Suite du Roman de Merlin edited after a XVth century manuscript : (Paris, National Library of France, french fonds 112)

Cretoiu, Elena 08 March 2014 (has links)
The fragment of the Suite du Roman de Merlin that we edited is preserved in four manuscripts (London manuscript, British Library, Additional 38117, the Cambridge University Library manuscript, Additional 7071, the BNF 112 manuscript, which is the main manuscript of our edition, and the Imola manuscript, Biblioteca Comunale, ms. 135 AA25 n° 9 (7)). Comparing to the other three already existing editions of the Suite (O. Sommer, Die Abenteuer Gawains Ywains und Le Morholts mit Den Drei Jungfrauen (Zeitschrift für Romanische Philologie, Beiheft 47, 1913), P. C. Smith (Les enchantemenz de Bretagne, Chapel Hill, 1977), edition based upon the Cambridge manuscript, and G. Roussineau (La Suite du Roman de Merlin, Droz, 1996), edition mainly based upon the London manuscript), the aim of our edition is to offer a text of the Suite du Roman de Merlin based upon the BNF 112 manuscript, according to the modern principles applied in the transcription of the medieval texts. We offered a great number of variants given by the other manuscritpts of the Suite and limited our interference with the text only for corrections which we considered strictly necessary. The text of our edition is followed by notes, a glossary and an index of names. On the linguistic level, we noted regional caracteristics that lead us to consider that our manuscript belongs to the North domain (conseilh ; karoloient, etc.), modern structures comparing to the other manuscripts of the Suite and a certain number of termes (baudel ; pourvillier) which can improve the DMF (Dictionnaire du Moyen Français) basis.

Jans, Markus 22 September 2023 (has links)
Based on the example of the beginning of the Allemande of the French Suite Nr. 5 (BWV 816), this paper discusses probable “meanings” (significations) of bass-notes and the chords above them. The goal is to explain and to apply a historically developed logic of sound progression (pre - Rameau and pre - functional harmony). The focus of examination is a principle of interval progression, introduced in the 14th century and valid ever since (at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis known as “Pi[iii…]P –principle”) and the resulting Rule of the Octave.
