Espaços abertos em indústrias : percepção dos usuários e suas preferências / Open spaces at industrial plants. users' perception and preferences

Oliveira, Lisete Samersla de January 2009 (has links)
External spaces at industrial plants, used by the employees, are highly relevant for the behavior of their users. These spaces allow restoring energy and reducing levels of stress caused by the routine of the several hours a day devoted to the company. The quality of these environments is a determining factor for the physical and mental health of these workers, and the role of vegetation is essential to achieve satisfactory levels for the user's wellbeing. The objective of this study was to investigate the users' perception concerning the presence of vegetation in the external spaces of industrial plants. In order to understand this, two case studies were performed at industrial plants where landscaping treatment is provided. The case studies were performed at a steel mill and a metallurgical plant. After a review of literature, visits to plants to observe and record information, 31 interviews were performed at each plant, during the workers' break, in external areas, to understand the preferences and most visited places. The proposal was to record information which will help planners of external spaces at industrial plants to prepare programs that would be more effective for wellbeing and better respond to the users' needs. The result of the research shows that vegetation in the open spaces of industrial plants is extremely relevant for comfort and it is much visited. Most of the interviewees expressed this aspect and suggest that it is a benefit provided by the company, with repercussions on the quality of personal life, outside the working environment.

Parque agroambiental em quadrilátero do interior paulista: uma estratégia de planejamento paisagístico ambiental / Agro-environmental park in a quadrilateral shape at the countryside of São Paulo: a strategy for landscaping and environmental planning

Alessandra Natali Queiroz 25 May 2012 (has links)
This research aims the study of open space systems and contemporary urbanization in Limeira and communities that comprise the Administrative County of Campinas, São Paulo. The analysis demands answers both in territory classification and configuration and the project of the contemporary regional park, or so denominated as \"agro environmental park\", with the purpose of strengthening inter municipal bonds. The agro environment park must not be regarded as a simple solution but a thought process and a way of acting worth pursuing. Moreover, it ought to be possible to focus upon the local reality searching for more adjustable and consistent mechanisms to accomplish this enterprise. Because, unlike other important regions provided with natural resources such as the metropolitan region of São Paulo, the agro enviromental park concept aims at interfering in an area that shares economical and social similarities, where fauna and flora are almost inexistent, since they have been replaced by urbanization and agricultural lands serving the global market. The challenge proposed here is to make the contemporary regional park an object of debate for public policies to address social and environmental needs such as: leisure, sports in general, cultural and folkloric activities, farming or forestry, conservation of the ecosystems, through which different levels or scales of intervention and accessibility to places could be defined. The proposal for the agro environmental park is to accomplish an instrument for regional and environmental planning.

Barokní krajinotvorba. Srovnání přístupu Šliků a Sasko-Lauenburských / Baroque landscaping. Comparing the Schlicksʼ and Saxe-Lauenburgsʼ attitude

Vokurka, Michal January 2018 (has links)
Studying the early modern landscape during the baroque period was often linked to some kind of idealization of the relationship between the pre-modern man and the landscape they lived in. On the example of the 17 Saxe-Lauenburg manor districts I pointed out that the approach to the landscape used to be more functional and pragmatic than the existing literature assumed. The aristocratic representation and power legitimization was historically emphasised by building the landscape after the Thirty Years' War as well the dominancy of Catholicism. Comparing activities of the Saxe-Lauenburgs with the Schlick family and their exceptional composed landscape around Kopidlno, Staré Hrady and Veliš some common and particular trends in the making of landscape became apparent.

Museo Arqueológico del Valle de Supe / Archaeological Museum of the Supe Valley

Aza Bustios, Gonzalo Enrique 23 January 2021 (has links)
The project is located in Supe Pueblo, in the San Nicolás area. The approach is of an architecture that respects the landscape with a simple volumetry, which doesn´t propose to disappear in the topography but to show itself, presenting materials, routes and visuals that strengthen the link between architecture and its environment. The location responds to an area where there are no visual obstructions due to nearby buildings, since it is surrounded by agricultural areas and two hills, La Cruz and Chimucapac. It should be noted that a small plot is used as part of the exhibition. The project shows a clear sectorization with respect to the complementary areas located in the first level of the project. The service areas are raised in the back part of the project together with the research area; and finally the museum tour area that is from the second level upwards. Access is by a single two-way street, Av. San Nicolás, which takes you to the Panamericana Highway and to Supe Pueblo. The building considers that all routes are carried out through ramps. The idea of the project is for the user to discover visuals towards the environment as they go through its architecture. The building is clearly visible, however, different levels are used in the volumetry so as not to affect the landscape in an invasive way. In addition, viewpoints are considered at different levels to expose the environment and understand the importance of the valley for the Caral civilization. / Tesis

Landscaping Wilderness in Hollywood Westerns and Brazilian Nordesterns

Ashman, Michael 09 August 2022 (has links)
In this comparative examination of cinematic representations of American and Brazilian wildernesses, I argue for the necessity of a transnational, postregional, and ecocritical approach to film studies. The way that the deserts of the American West are represented by Hollywood Western filmmakers reveal underlying ecological and political philosophies, and provide a productive contrast with representations of the sertão, a similarly arid biome in Brazil. Among other theoretical approaches, this study uses W. J. T. Mitchell’s idea of “landscape” as a verb to examine the formal devices by which filmmakers and audiences “landscape” these “wildernesses.” Using John Ford’s The Searchers (1956) as an example, I suggest that Hollywood Westerns inscribe the land with a colonial gaze that reflects and perpetuates a dualistic conception of nature, one that sees nature as separate and distinct from humankind. Cinema Novo, the radical anticolonial movement in Brazilian cinema, provides an aesthetic and philosophical alternative. Through an analysis of one of Cinema Novo’s foundational works by one of its founding figures—Glauber Rocha’s Deus e o diabo na terra do sol [Black God, White Devil] (1964)—I demonstrate how the theory and practice of Rocha’s anticolonial “aesthetic of hunger” has an ecological dimension, one that rejects and collapses a binary opposition between humans and nature. By looking beyond borders which too often function not only as national boundaries but to delimit fields of academic study, this project finds common ground for comparison in representations of nature, and demonstrates the political and ecological implications thereof.
