With the quantification and the interpretation of the exercises typologie and strategies of the lessons Start auf Deutsch and Café D, both of the book Studio D A1 and Europa: Politik und mehr, of the book Studio D B1, this work aims at investigation of this lessons in comparisons to the post-comunicative principles, as treated in Funk (2010). After this quantification, the teaching/learning strategies of this teaching material was investigated if these strategies follow the strategies of the intercultural aproach, as discussed in Roche (2001) and the strategies of the post-method pedagogy (KUMARAVADIVELU:1994, 2001), these are part of the post-comunicative era and have principles that are related to the sociocultural and interacionist theory. The research on the postcomunicative outlook culminated in the changing of the foreing languange teaching/learning parameters in the 90s, with this, arise the Common European Framework for Foreing Languages (CEFR) and in Brazil the Parâmetros Curriculares Nacionais para as Línguas Estrangeiras (PCN-LE), both educational parameters, european and brazilian, propose that the reality of learners and cultural exchange are means of the autonomous learning facilitation. The chosen teaching book are part of this CEFR scenario, therefore, it itended to investigate if in these lesson are applied the exercise tipologies as proposed by Rampillon (2001) and Häusserman & Piepho (1996). Also was comparated the strategies of the teaching book with the learning/teaching strategies as proposed by Bimmel & Rampillon (2001). In this work was also discussed the role of the media ressources in the post-comunicative era. On the basis of all these assumption, this work investigated if in these lessons are included subsidies to the application of the exercise tipologie, strategies and principles of the post-comunicative era.

A competência intercultural no ensino do italiano como língua estrangeira: da teoria à sala de aula / The intercultural competence in teaching Italian as a foreign language: from theory to classroomSandra Gazzoni 17 October 2014 (has links)
The concepts of \"difference\" and \"identity\" are now a leitmotif in social and political debates in many countries worldwide. In this context, the intercultural competence is considered to be a desirable feature for those who, more and more frequently, are crossing borders between cultures. From my personal both in terms of language and self-identity and from the professional experience, as teacher of Italian as a Foreign Language, I understand that the explicit reflection on intercultural communication deserves a place in the foreign language classroom. Based on such assumptions, the main goal of this research is to highlight the intercultural dimension of teaching and learning in the Italian language classes, and more specificically to verify if a teaching activity, inspired by the Developmental Model of Intercultural Sensitivity DMIS (BENNETT, 1993), and other intercultural models, can indeed stimulate the sensitivity and the intercultural competence, not only at a cognitive level, but also at a perceptual level. In addition, we would like to check whether the exercise called the Description, Interpretation, and Evaluation Exercise - DIE (BENNETT, BENNETT, 1988), which aims at fostering the understanding and the differentiation the three concepts mentioned, encourages awareness of the judgments of value in the subjects in this research, highlighting their personal and cultural identity. More generally, we aim at registering the effects and reactions of the learners in contact with such an activity. At a methodological level, we chose the qualitative method that according to Donna Mertens (1998) belongs to the interpretive/constructivist research paradigm and, therefore, refers to the same epistemological theory behind DMIS. The teaching activity developed during this research was applied to the two different groups of students of Italian as a Foreign Language in the Faculty of Philosophy, Letters and Human Sciences of the University of São Paulo. The data collected in the trial seems to show that the exercise DIE allowed us to achieve the purposes of the research, once the students, in general, had success in: (a) understanding and being able to distinguish the descriptive, interpretive and evaluative elements in the proposed texts during the teaching activities; (b) understanding their own nature as being \"personal\" and \"cultural\" at the same time; (c) in part, to applying and interpreting in a personal and creative way the DIE exercise, which was proposed as an activity designed to carry out the empirical part of this research. On a broader sense, the students were also able to understand that the main focus of the activity (which was not explicit beforehand) was to attempt to grasp elements of the Italian subjective culture. It is noteworthy that the procedures by which this occurred (the DIE and \"the empathy\") are tools that can be used in different cultural contexts.

The relationship between curriculum, learning and teaching in library and information science, with special reference to the University of TranskeiTiti, Mavis Nozikhumbuzo January 2001 (has links)
Curriculum development involves considerations about curriculum relevance. Thus it is necessary that the curriculum should identify with the needs of the graduate and with professional practice. This requirement shoNAt-hsa t curriculum relevance is not fixed, a view that is consistent with a dynamic, situational approach to curriculum development. The basic categories which define librarianship curriculum development are library activities, theory, innovation, teaching and learning, employers, students. lecturers. These are influential factors in curriculum relevance. Variables in curriculum content such as theory and practice affect curriculum relevance. Librarianship curriculum development should aim at relevance by integrating academic study and practice. Hence, the goal of study towards librarianship education must be focused on the activities performed in library and information services. The need for innovation in library and information services means that novel viewpoints and solutions must be practical. For example, this requirement indicates that curriculum development must take into consideration leamt attributes which are aerieral and transferable in a changing world. This is in view of the employers' requirement that graduates should have critical intellectual ability and the capability to learn rather than their just immediate attributes, skills and knowledge. With teaching and leaming there is abundant rationale for the development of more effective delivery systems than traditional lecturing. If outcome-based learning is valued, individualised, self-directed learning is a prerequisite. The practices of the task-based curriculum, with its focus on student learning and on the development of transferable skills more closely approximate the ideal approaches to librarianship education. The teaching of transferable skills is more likely to define the conditions under which critical reasoning can develop. It has an advantage over the students' abilities to learn to function in the profession outside the university and for continuous development. In this respect task-based education has much wider implications than that of simply providing students with skills. Professional practice does not always fit with the curriculum that is developed by the experts. The expert-developed curriculum also poses a problem for those who interpret it, learn it and receive the products. Thus, a strong joint partnership in which the library and the library school are both recognised in curriculum development is essential if the profession is to fulfil effectively its unique role in society.

The relationship between Total Quality Management and School ImprovementRampa, Seake Harry 30 March 2005 (has links)
The poor functioning of a large number of the black schools and the urgent need to transform them was identified as a problematic phenomenon particular to post apartheid South Africa. Notwithstanding various government interventions/initiatives (COLTS, Tirisano, Call to Action, Batho-Pele) for the improvement of schools aimed at correcting this situation, many schools remain dysfunctional and/or operate within a negative culture of teaching, learning and services. The purpose of the study was to determine whether or not the adoption of a TQM philosophy that complemented previous interventions could rectify the current situation. To this end, an exhaustive literature review was conducted on COLTS, Tirisano and TQM prior to and during the empirical survey of dysfunctional schools in District D3 - Tshwane-North schools. The empirical design is eclectic in the sense that it includes both qualitative and quantitative elements. Survey questionnaires, semi-structured interviews and unstructured observation were used to collect data in a case study of the District D3-Tshwane North schools, a triangulation process that enhanced the reliability and validity of the research findings. Emerging from the survey and the literature review was the need for a different intervention strategy, one that would accommodate differences in and between schools rather than assuming the appropriateness of a ‘one size fits all’ intervention model. Based on the research findings emerging from the literature review and empirical survey it was concluded that such a model should be integrated into a TQM intervention framework that would be flexible enough to accommodate differences in schools with regard to contexts, needs, strengths and weaknesses. Drawing role players into new managerialism - and so into the new episteme may enhance the improvement of schools. The primary outcome of this research project, and the contribution made to new knowledge in the field, is the development of such an integrated framework, one which is not only theoretically sound but one which has been customised for South African conditions. / Thesis (PhD (Education Management and Policy Studies))--University of Pretoria, 2006. / Education Management and Policy Studies / unrestricted

Distanční výuka přírodopisu během mimořádných opatření v 2. pololetí školního roku 2019/2020 / Distance Teaching of Natural History During Emergency Measures in the 2nd Half of the School Year 2019/2020Panský, Martin January 2021 (has links)
TITLE: Distance Teaching of Natural History During Emergency Measures in the 2nd Half of the School Year 2019/2020 AUTHOR: Martin Panský DEPARTMENT: Department of Biology and Environmental Studies SUPERVISOR: Ing. Jan Andreska, PhD. ABSTRACT: The topic of the diploma thesis is a distance teaching of natural history at primary schools during emergency measures in the second half of the school year 2019/2020, when, in response to a pandemic situation, the physical presence of pupils in schools was banned, both in the Czech Republic and in the most of the countries in the world. This was a completely new situation, to which it was necessary to respond flexibly and systemically in order for teaching to continue to work, at least to a limited extent. The aim of the work was to summarize the experience of science and biology teachers at primary schools in the Czech Republic coming from distance education in the second half of the school year 2019/2020. Moreover this thesis is focuing on naming critical points in distance education of given subjects, defining distance learning opportunities and examining whether such a situation will have further implications for the future form of our education. To meet these goals, I decided to conduct an extensive questionnaire survey, in which I managed to get over 700...

The role of the principal in restoring the culture of teaching and learning : an instructional management perspectiveNemukula, Fhatuwani Joseph 11 1900 (has links)
One of the challenges facing the education system in South Africa is a lack of the culture
of teaching and learning. It is this challenge that prompted this research. The research
investigated how the principaL as an instructional leader, can restore the culture of teaching
and learning in previously disadvantaged schools. A qualitative approach was used and three schools
were selected in the Sambandou Circuit of the Northern Province.
The research results showed that there are general and management factors that
contribute to a lack of the culture of teaching and learning. Management factors include, amongst
others, lack of staff development programmes and discipline. The general factors, on the
other hand, include amongst others, poor physical conditions and infrastructure in schools.
In conclusion, the research recommended, amongst others, that principals conduct staff development
programmes and supervise the work of educators and learners / Educational Leadership and Management / M. Ed. (Education Management)
