The data were collected through applies questionnaire to 60 (sixty) micro and small entrepreneurs of the segment of commerce of construction materials located in the city of Rio de Janeiro and Baixada Fluminense. It is important to stand out that this sample of entrepreneurs is requested to daily take innumerable decisions on the most varied aspects of its business and, usually, without the support of specialized consultants. It was observed that, the majority of the people, uses heuristical in the simplification of the decision process and, in many cases suffers the effect from the same vieses emanated of, generating decisions oblique. The collected material will be able to serve of base for the elaboration of deeper studies, with the purpose to help to the elaboration of materials for programs of managerial development for this important group of entrepreneurs, who are the generating greater of jobs of this country, allowing that they improve its power to decide processes and they can gain more efficiency and effectiveness, forming base for the growth of its companies.

In different project subcultures, architects, engineers, and designers move between two paths to decide what are the next steps to be taken in product design and design: the path of reasoning and the path of intuition. These two paths are grounded in Epstein's theory (1999, 2003), called the CEST (Cognitive-Experiential Self-Theory of Personality). The path of reasoning or rationality is the path of decisions based on the logic of the methodologies, methods, tools and processes that the designer uses to advance the design as the information about design problems is structured. The path of intuition or experientiality is that of the decisions based on the experiences or personal experiences that the designer accumulated in heuristic processes, in which the methodologies, methods, tools and processes used to take a certain next step in the design are not clear enough, because all the information about the design problem is not available and it is necessary to 'fill in the gaps' to advance the design. These two paths, traced by architects, engineers and designers for the design and design of products, will be analyzed in this dissertation, based on studies of limited rationality (Simon, 1969, 1996) and limited intuition (Kahneman 2003) Rational- Experiential (Rational-Experiential - REI, Pacini and Epstein, 1999, 2003) as a research tool. The study was conducted online with 156 participants, revealing that in training analysis engineers tend to think more rationally and have more confidence in doing so, and, architects and designers tend to think in a more experiential way with more ability to think with feelings and intuition. In the analysis of experience time in product design and design the designers tend to think more rationally and have more ability and confidence to do so. In the analysis of the level of training, designers tend to think in a rational, experiential way and have more confidence and ability to act in this way.

Genuspedagogers berättelser om makt och kontroll

Arvidson, Catarina January 2014 (has links)
In this thesis 14 gender pedagogues’ stories about power and control are described and analysed. Here the term gender pedagogue refers to educators who have participated in further training in gender and gender equality studies. The training programme was the result of an initiative taken by the former Social Democratic government. The intention of the government was that those who participated in the training programme would then work as resource persons in the work for gender equality in preschools and schools (Frånberg, 2010; Regeringen, 2001a, 2001b; Wahlgren, 2009). The purpose of this study is to describe and analyse the gender pedagogues’ access to power and control in work for change. The theoretical framework chosen for the study consists of Basil Bernsteins concepts classification and framing (Bernstein, 1977, 2000) and Hildur Ve’s (1999a, 1999b) use of the concepts technical limited rationality and care work rationality. The empirical evidence is based on observations in a seminar series on gender issues and semi-structured interviews. The results of the interviews are presented as stories which have been created in the interplay between the gender pedagogues and the interviewer. One conclusion that can be drawn from the stories is that power relations and gender patterns on many different levels influenced the possibilities of the gender pedagogues for power and control. Power and control in the relation between technical limited rationality and care work rationality is expressed in different ways. It is seen in the possibilities and descriptions of resistance and difficulties. Resistance and difficulties depended, according to the gender pedagogues, on the differences between their own view of knowledge and that of others. If gender and gender equality was not considered to be an important area of knowledge, possibilities for power and control decreased.
