As it was a descriptive study, the data source used was the curricular information available in CNPq Lattes Platform, from Professors and students of these programs. In this study, we proposed to give an overview about the profile and scientific publications of the graduates, in order to identify factors that affect the scientific production, the continuity of the academic formation, the choice of research lines, and the professional career in Universities. We also aimed to infer whether the Professors?? academic factors, with Doctoral or PhD degree titles, the acquisition of a scholarship, the authorship of international publications, or the membership in teaching staff/ or researchers of first class Universities, have positive effects on the trajectory of graduated students. We verified a high academic productivity in the applied sample, through the general Lotka index, and the Price??s Elitism Law. It was possible to deduct the existence of a positive relationship of Professors concerning their students in the following aspects: educational background, the student??s professional career in teaching and academic production. January 2013 (has links)
Im September 2008 fand der 4. Potsdamer Lateintag statt. / In September 2008 the ‚Potsdamer Lateintag‘ took place for the fourth time. At the same time the second topic of the ‚Brandenburger Antike-Denkwerk‘, a project funded by the Robert Bosch Foundation, was presented: “o tempora. o mores. Relevance and relativity of values”. Nowadays, when the discussion ofmoral values has become relevant again, one is often looking at values of the ancient world but without thorough examination. In an attempt to differentiate themselves from other cultures or political/social systems politicians and social scientists go back to the common intellectual and cultural history of Europe. In this project the distinctivenessof the Roman values was to be examined: What was the meaning of the so called mos maiorum? How could these values be passed on over such a long time? How did they ‚work‘? What was the reason for the much lamented decline of the values in the late republic? Can we even compare these values with ours? In this volume you can find the lectures from the Lateintag given by Prof. Dr. Chr. Kunst and Prof. Dr. M. Janka as well as reports on the whole project and on some of the schoolprojects.

It was part of the Brandenburger Antike-Denkwerk (BrAnD), a project funded by the Robert Bosch Foundation and scheduled for a period of three years. The topic presented this time was ‘Power and Powerlessness ‒ Society and Rhetoric’. Not only are today’s rhethoric theories and instructions derived from antiquity, but the reciprocal relation between society and rhetoric was already lived and pre-conceived in antiquity. The aim was to get familiar with ancient instructions of rhetoric, to analyse ancient orations with regard to their application and effect, and to investigate their applicability today. This volume collects lectures given by Prof. Dr. P. Riemer and Prof. A. Fritsch as well as reports on the whole project and on some of the school projects.

Wilson, Kristina January 2017 (has links)
The aim of this study is to examine how some teachers in the Swedish Elementary School work with language-, reading- and writing to meet the diversity of students within the classroom and these teachers’ opinions about inclusion in these contexts.   The method used is qualitative, semi-structured interviews. Theory as a starting point is the socio-cultural perspektive on learning.   The results show that teachers work with certain awareness according to several different methods and strategies within the context of language-, reading- and writing, where all students are included. This study also shows that teachers taken part in further-education has a greater knowledge about inclusive reading and writing methods. There is a great interest among teachers to cooperate and develope their teaching practices.   The advantages with inclusive teaching practices are that students see and learn to accept each others differences and they are one another’s access in different learning situations. At the same time it is shown that there are practical difficulties that requires knowledge, support and resources.

The responses of primary school Heads of Department to curriculum changes since 2005

Cornelissen, Stephanie January 2013 (has links)
With nineteen years of democracy behind us, South Africa has experienced uncountable changes within its borders and on various playing fields. One of the most memorable changes, in my opinion, was in education. This motivated me to embark on a study about the responses of Heads of Departments (HoDs) to curriculum changes. I especially wanted to focus on the management of those changes. The focus on HoDs arose from the devolution of responsibility from the principal to the HoD with regard to curriculum change. This uninterrupted cycle of curriculum change that South Africa is experiencing occupies the HoDs to a large extent. They have to ensure that the changes take place as smoothly as possible with as little resistance as possible. In order to accomplish this, one would think that the HoD would be trained in managing a department and curriculum changes. This is unfortunately not the case, and they are following their own guidelines that they have constructed through trial and error. This study was conducted through a narrative design within a qualitative framework, allowing me to give a voice to those who have none. It required me to have focus group interviews, which laid the foundation for my semi-structured interview. The use of documents assisted with the crystallisation of the data. This research was conducted in the Lady Frere district of the Eastern Cape. There were two sets of HoDs from different schools, and one participant willing to participate in a semi-structured interview. The purpose of this study was to find out what guidelines HoDs had constructed by looking at HoDs’ responses to, and management of curriculum changes since 2005. It became very clear that there is some confusion about what is expected of the HoD during the change process and the HoDs in this study felt it better to follow traditional methods of teaching, as this was all they knew. However, the focus on producing quality education was very important to them. / Dissertation (MEd)--University of Pretoria, 2013. / gm2014 / Education Management and Policy Studies / unrestricted
