Potencialidades e alcances do monitoramento como ferramenta de gestão da saúde / Potential and Scope of Monitoring as a Tool for Health Management

Grimm, Sylvia Christina de Andrade 15 March 2016 (has links)
In Brazil, construction and changes in more than twenty years of the Unified Health System (SUS) has demanded an increasing interest in strategies to enhance the use of health information. Increasingly, uncertainties between the complexity of this system and the interventions required to meet its precepts and the population\'s needs require agile and effective responses. The effectiveness of services and equity in its provision are crucial in health care and shows up as large challenge facing the difficulty of effective evaluation of this attention for the delay in the impact on classical epidemiological indicators. Monitoring is a practice that can be highlighted by the responsiveness, but it is clear how the discussion on the subject not yet established in the available literature. It is presented as an interactive and proactive practice using information available with the potential to quickly organize and disseminate discoveries made, generate organizational learning and support decision making. This study considered the Monitoring Panel of the Health Department of São Paulo as a starting point to research on the potential monitoring in a management. A survey of mixed methods was the method chosen for this work that sought to deepen the theoretical framework on monitoring, review and critically analyze the theoretical foundations of tool construction and conduct a case study in a decentralized space in São Paulo on the routine site on its use and thus evaluate the potential and scope of this experience in municipal management. It was concluded that monitoring through indicators from secondary data is an agile strategy to follow the trend of certain actions thus enabling value-issue and decision making quickly. The application provides managers and technical relevant information supporting the decisionmaking process, and enable its use in different areas of management and territorial sizes. On the other hand, everyday practice is still guided by normative priorities, where the accuracy of the record, the consistency of sources, pointed amount, overrides the information itself, its meaning and the necessary actions to face the problems. The use of information is culture construction and Monitoring Panel brings the ability to organize, disseminate and qualify secondary data from different information systems of the National Health System (SUS). Moreover, it has also contributed in part to encouraging discussions on the different issues involving the priorities of management at all levels of the São Paulo municipal health system.

Assessment of Technology Adoption Potential of Medical Devices: Case of Wearable Sensor Products for Pervasive Care in Neurosurgery and Orthopedics

Hogaboam, Liliya Stepanivna 26 March 2018 (has links)
Information and communication technologies hope to revolutionize the healthcare industry with innovative and affordable solutions with a focus on pervasive care. Wearable sensors products can provide monitoring in a natural environment with a constant stream of information, enriching healthcare practices and enabling better pervasive care. Wearable sensor technologies could monitor patients' mobility, gait, tremor, daily activity and other health indicators in real time that could allow for simple, non-invasive, tracking of spine care that may lead to increased patient engagement, integration, feedback, post-surgery analysis, monitoring of patient's condition, patient's data extraction and analysis and possibly aiding in better diagnosis, intervention, adherence to treatment for the betterment of quality of care. This research focuses on the assessment of technology adoption potential of medical devices particular to tracking the mobility of patients of neurosurgery and orthopedics. Wearable medical devices that track the mobility of patients after spinal procedures could help surgeons in providing post-operative care, analysis of treatment outcomes and patient mobility. The assessment of those devices by physicians is a complex process associated with various perspectives and criteria. Therefore, the objective of this research is to assess the potential for technology adoption of those wearable medical devices through development of a hierarchical decision-making model (HDM) that incorporates the relevant perspectives and criteria encompassing the needs of hospital neurological surgery and orthopedics departments. The proposed research builds on an existing body of knowledge researched through literature review and background of the field and expands the health technology assessment field by implementation of a holistic, comprehensive and multi-perspective approach to technology assessment in wearable sensor products adoption for pervasive care in neurosurgery and orthopedics. The Hierarchical Decision Model (HDM) approach is used to break the problem down into hierarchical levels and then calculate the alternatives using pairwise comparison scales and a judgment quantification technique. Inconsistencies, disagreement, sensitivity and scenario analysis are performed as well. HDM research software is created with Ruby and R to facilitate the computation of some of these important model parameters to higher precision than is available in current statistical analysis software packages or extensions targeted for decision making. Patient perspective dominates as the main perspective for the technology adoption potential of wearable devices for pervasive care in neurosurgery and orthopedics, followed by technical and financial perspectives. Valedo, a wearable device aimed to relieve back pain through exercises, motivation and mobility tracking, received the highest ranking for adoption potential, while other devices also received high relative scores. The framework could serve as a supplementary technology assessment tool and could be tested in other settings: private, small clinic etc. with the experts and special needs of physicians in particular healthcare departments.

Sense of coherence, self-efficacy and job performance in the recruitment industry

Mccomb, Calum Bruce 05 1900 (has links)
Recruitment consultants today are faced with considerable stress and challenges as a result of their work. They must cope effectively with these challenges in order to deliver effective job performance, which is crucial to an organisation’s survival. In this study the relationship between sense of coherence, self-efficacy and job performance amongst recruitment consultants was investigated. The Orientation to Life Questionnaire, Generalised Self-efficacy Scale and a job performance measure comprising key performance indicators were used. The study was conducted with 99 recruitment consultants at a national recruitment organisation in South Africa. While a theoretical relationship was determined, this was not supported by the empirical investigation. Relationships did, however, emerge for the comprehensibility component of sense of coherence to job performance total and for two of its dimensions (namely customer service and productivity). A regression model, comprising comprehensibility and meaningfulness, emerged as a significant predictor of total job performance. / Industrial and Organisational Psychology / M.Com. Quality or reception services offered by security personnel to organisations in the Johannesburg area

Mabandla, Vuyokazi 02 1900 (has links)
Quality is critical to private security personnel employed as receptionists in many organisations, as it plays a vital role in improving organisational productivity. The main objective of the research was to investigate the quality of reception services provided by security personnel to organisations in the Johannesburg area as benchmarked against the appropriate service quality evaluation methodologies when modelling the impact of service quality on satisfaction and loyalty. A questionnaire was used and semi-structured interviews were conducted in a focus group with key informants (business owners, managers and ordinary people) who could provide valuable information for use in the study. The focus group consisted of eight respondents. The sample consisted of 200 participants scattered in seven regions on sites that are managed by Johannesburg City Parks and Zoo (JCPZ). The selection of the 200 participants was random and included JCPZ employees. Primary research shows that the majority of the respondents ranked indicators of service quality below acceptable level; however, customers‘ tastes and preferences constantly change and evolve, as do the number of security companies. Thus such companies should improve conditions in the area of service quality if they want to stay competitive. To remain competitive, the security companies as well as the clients need to analyse customers' expectations and perceptions of the service quality of front office staff, who in this case are often security/guarding personnel. For customer organisations, the empirical findings can be used to develop a framework of service quality indicators, which can be used for monitoring and benchmarking service quality. For organisations, the findings can be used for resource-allocation decisions pertaining to improved service quality, customer satisfaction and ultimately intentions. The study concludes that the quality perceptions of services rendered by security personnel as receptionists are important for customer satisfaction and that quality dimensions are important for clientele management - arguably one of the most important aspects of service quality management.

Pirolla, Cleonice Mendonça 01 March 2013 (has links)
Currently the technology topics, sustainability, productivity and innovation have gained attention in the strategy of organizations, particularly in more dynamic productive environments of society. It is noticed that, often, these environments have neglected the most important variable of an enterprise, people. It is forgotten that transformations are the result of individual competencies, skills, motivation and engagement of the same towards institutional projects. In pursuit of continuous improvement, several mechanisms are used as a source of research and subsidies for process reorientation, changes of behavior and management planning. This dissertation raised up the evaluation tools of a public institution and verified if the same served as a resource for management improvement. The methodology was based on desk research and case study. The data collection occurred through electronic poll and the evaluation tools surveyed were: Organizational Climate Survey, Employee Assessment, Management Assessment, Teacher Evaluation by Student and External Assessment.
