Analýza poškození vozidel po malé dopravní nehodě / Analysis of Vehicle Damage after a Minor Car Accident

Psica, Lukáš January 2014 (has links)
The thesis deals with the analysis of small accidents. Its attention is focused on the estimated amount of money needed to repair a vehicle immediately after the accident and later on the real amount that is actually necessary to fix the vehicle. In practice, it often happens that an accident may seem minor at first glance. Only after dismantling of a damaged vehicle and its parts it is found that the damage is much greater than initially predicted. Attention is focused as well on constantly growing insurance frauds. Nowadays, there is no literature concerning this issue.

Exorcismus v Mk 5,1-20 a zlí duchové v židovských tradicích / Exorcism in Mark 5:1-20 and evil spirits in Jewish traditions

Ondra, Michal January 2017 (has links)
ONDRA, Michal. Exorcism in Mark 5:1-20 and evil spirits in Jewish traditions The goal of this master thesis is to introduce the readers to Jewish demonology, how it evolved, what influenced it, and how it was reflected in the works on the evangelists when they wrote down the stories of Jesus' confrontations with the forces of darkness. At first you will be introduced to the term "demon", which is followed by an excursion into the Hellenistic culture, the period of the Old and the New Testament and, of course, into the intertestamental literature. It is specifically the intertestamental literature which is the most relevant, since it is a very rich collection of works many of which contain references to demonology and angelology. In the second half of this thesis you will find an analysis of Mark's fifth chapter (Mk 5:1-20), which is subsequently compared to similar stories found in the gospel of Luke and Matthew. The final chapter of this thesis shortly reflects the influence of the Jewish tradition on the demonology of Mark's gospel.

Literární vztah mezi Markovým a Tomášovým evangeliem / Literary Relationship between the Gospel of Mark and the Gospel of Thomas

Eder, Pavel January 2020 (has links)
The thesis Literary Relationship Between the Gospel of Mark and the Gospel of Thomas aims to provide a closer look at the relationship between the ca- nonical Gospel According to Mark and the apocryphal Gospel According to Thomas. The first part of the thesis serves as an introduction: After prolego- mena to the Gospel of Mark and Thomas, it focuses on several contempora- ry hypotheses of the literary relationship between the Gospel of Thomas and Synoptics, as discussed in more recent articles and monographs. Thereafter, the second part of the thesis presents three studies of Thoma- sian and Markan sayings of Jesus. Where necessary, an excursion is made to other synoptic writings. The second part uses the method of linguistic comparison in order to reconstruct the redaction history and thus explain the original literary relationship of these two ancient writings.

Blend it Like Beckett: Samuel Beckett and Experimental Contemporary Creative Writing

Campbell, Sam Nicole 01 May 2020 (has links)
Samuel Beckett penned novels, short stories, poetry, stage plays, radio plays, and scripts—and he did each in a way that blended genre, challenged the norms of creative writing, and surprised audiences around the globe. His experimental approach to creative writing included the use of absurdism, genre-hybridization, and ergodicism, which led to Beckett fundamentally changing the approach to creative writing. His aesthetics have trickled down through the years and can be seen in contemporary works, including Aimee Bender’s short story collection The Girl in the Flammable Skirt and Mark Z. Danielewski’s novel House of Leaves[1]. By examining these works in comparison to Beckett, this project hopes to illuminate the effects of Beckett’s experimentation in form and genre on contemporary creative writing. [1] The word ‘house’ appears in blue to honor Danielewski’s decision to have the word printed in that color each time it appears in his novel.

Gränsland : En studie av utommusikaliska referensers roll i det elektroakustiska komponerandet

Sandström, Viktor January 2022 (has links)

Expedientes N° 15676-2011-0-1801-JR-CI-01 / N° 676684-2016

Reyes Chuquiure, Miguel Angel 02 February 2021 (has links)
This report will address Administrative File No. 676684-2016 where trademark opposition will be analyzed within the regulations of trademark law. The present case begins when Mr. Andrew Michell Olivares requests the registration of a trademark called “Candelaria Pilsener”, which for the correct registration all the documents were presented and the corresponding payments were made. Subsequently, the company Unión de Cervecerías Backus y Johnston, owner of the "Pilsen Callao" trademark, presents its trademark opposition statement since it could cause a risk of confusion to consumers. In this sense, if there is a trademark opposition, it is the responsibility of the INDECOPI Distinctive Signs Commission to evaluate and resolve the matter of conflict. This authority resolves, among others, to declare the opposition filed founded and to deny the registration of the trademark. Now, considering that the registration of “Candelaria Pilsener” was rejected, Mr. Michell filed an appeal on the main grounds that the term “Pilsener” is only a descriptive expression that should not be considered for the comparative examination between both brands. Finally, the Court for the Defense of Competition and Intellectual Property resolves, among others, to revoke the first instance decision and grant the registration of the "Candelaria Pilsener" trademark. / Trabajo de suficiencia profesional

Équivalence, style et insertions incidentes : Traduction des phrases longues d’un livre d’histoire politique / Equivalence, Style and Insertions : Translation of Long Sentences in a Book of Political History

Toräng, Hans Patrik January 2021 (has links)
This essay is an investigation of a translation from French into Swedish of inserted syntagms in sentences occurring in seven extracts chosen from a book in political history: Requiem pour un empire défunt - Histoire de la destruction de l'Autriche-Hongrie by François Fejtö. The extracts belong to different genres: a narrative essay describing Europe before the first World war, treaties, political speeches etc. In French inserted items are often isolated by punctuation marks as commas, semicolons, colons and dashes. The essay examines how different styles have an effect on the translation of these items. A presentation of the theory - styles issues, definitions of terms as "equivalence" and "inserted items" ... - is followed by analyses of the extracts. It is concluded that the inserted items occur more frequently in the French original than in the translated text. Especially in speeches, descriptive and legal texts, the use of such elements in long sentences is a part of the style. In descriptive and legal sequences the long units and the inserted elements are often maintained in the target text for stylistic reasons. Otherwise, the equivalence of style is mostly assured by the choice of vocabulary, notably when an idiomatic translation requires a reconstruction of the sentence. Another observation is that the comma is frequently used as a cursor of inserted elements in the source text, Sometimes the omission of the comma is compensated by a longer expression in the translation in order to highlight the item.

Examining the Perceptions of Fake News, Verification, and Notices on Twitter

Gwynn, Brendan Patrick 31 March 2022 (has links)
The rise of social media platforms has had a significant impact on the conventional model of gatekeeping. With increased access to information--as well as the ability to contribute to the public discourse--individuals no longer need to rely on the mass media for news. These realities have led to increased conversations surrounding credibility in the digital age. Although not a new concept, fake news has become increasingly common in recent years. The web--particularly social media outlets, like Twitter--have enhanced the spread of misinformation. To combat this, social media platforms have introduced gatekeeping features like verification marks and warning labels. However, questions remain regarding the credibility and effectiveness of these features. Furthermore, little information exists regarding the perceptions of these features. For this study, the researcher examined the perceptions of fake news, verification, and Notices (i.e., warning labels) as they relate to Twitter. These perceptions were captured through a survey that was distributed to Twitter users through MTurk. Results were examined generally as well as in the light of political orientation, ranging from very liberal to very conservative on a 4-point scale. Within the scope and limitations of this study, results indicate that the majority of Twitter users believe that fake news on the platform is a major problem. Additionally, results show that there is no significant difference between the effectiveness of verification and the effectiveness of Notices in slowing the spread of fake news, and neither feature is perceived as strongly credible or effective.
