Disserta??o (Mestrado Profissional) ? Programa de P?s-Gradua??o em Sa?de, Sociedade e Ambiente, Universidade Federal dos Vales do Jequitinhonha e Mucuri, 2017. / The mining activity, developed in the current economic model of capital production, is seen as a source of wealth for both the private sector and the state, but it brings a number of social, environmental and health impacts to rural and traditional communities. This receives, therefore, attention from diverse glances of different social subjects with different interests. This research is framed in the concern that exists about the cultural, social and environmental effects derived from the mining and the connection of these with the health, since this is a complex process in which they intervene from the larger dimensions, that is, social to the smallest, developed in the individual. In this sense, ways of life are studied as part of the social and group reality that are part of the health-disease process. The main objective was to understand the process of transformation of the ways of life imposed by the presence of a large mine. For this, the transformations in the environment of the inhabitants of the S?o Jos? da Ilha micro area of the municipality of Dom Joaquim (Minas Gerais, Brazil) were verified, as well as the transformations in the relations between people, and people with its environment, after the arrival of the mining activity. This was a qualitative research with participant observation and use of open interviews. Photographic camera for image registration, voice recorder for interviews and field diary for the recording of investigator's notes were used. Secondary sources of information were used, such as the records of the Family Health Strategy and data from the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics. The interviews were analyzed using the thematic content analysis method, using NVivo (V9) software. It was observed that in the place, the work activities are related to the use of the land for the sustenance of families, nevertheless, with the presence of the great mining company in the region, other works appeared that distant the people of the rural work, as well as other expressions of their traditional ways of life. In the studied case here, the mining company imposed material and symbolic conditions that make people to legitimate their presence and the use of resources for improvements in the infrastructure of the municipality and the economic improvements of families, which had members employed in outsourced companies in the time of work boom (time of assembly of structures of the company). Faced with this process of transformation of traditional ways of life, it is important to revalue them, as they allow and have allowed territorial sovereignty and food security based on traditional land use knowledge and are threatened by this process of transformation.

Souza, Tamires Patrícia January 2015 (has links)
A QVRS foi avaliada através do questionário World Health Organization Quality of Life (WHOQoL-Bref) e do Saint George's Hospital Respiratory Questionnaire (SGRQ). Trabalhadores com silicose tinham pior capacidade vital forçada (CVF; 71±20 % predito vs 93±15% predito; p<0,001) e volume expiratório forçado no primeiro segundo (VEF1; 65±21 % predito vs 92±11% predito; p<0,001). / Rationale: Occupational exposure in the mining of precious and semi-precious stones can cause silicosis. The effect of silicosis on the health related quality of life (HRQL) is not well known. Aims: To study the prevalence of silicosis in mining of precious and semi-precious stones workers and to evaluate the impact of the disease on workers’ HRQL. Methods: In this cross-sectional study, 348 mining workers from Ametista do Sul, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, were examined. The diagnosis of silicosis was established by the history of dust exposure and chest radiographic findings. Demographics and socio-economic data, medical and occupational history and results of spirometry and chest radiography were collected. HRQL was assessed using the World Health Organization Quality of Life (WHOQOL-Bref) questionnaire and the Saint George's Hospital Respiratory Questionnaire (SGRQ). Data are presented as mean ± SD or median (IQR). A p value <0.05 was considered significant. Results: All workers were male, the mean±SD of age was 40±12 years. The prevalence of silicosis was 37% (95% CI 32-42). Workers with silicosis were older (47±10 years vs 36±11 years; p <0.001), had longer exposure time (28±10 years vs 16±10; p<0.001), had less education (5±2 years vs 7±3 years; p <0.001) and lower income (R$ 1152 [835-1411] vs R$ 1382 [1152-1736]; p=0.001). Workers with silicosis had worse forced vital capacity (FVC; 71±20% predicted vs 93±15% predicted; p<0.001) and forced expiratory volume in one second (FEV1; 65±21% predicted vs 92±11% predicted; p<0.001). The quality of life was worse in workers with silicosis (WHOQoL-Bref 11.9±4.0 vs 14.7±2.4 points, p <0.001) compared with those without silicosis. The greatest impairment in SGRQ was observed in the domain activity in the group with silicosis compared to the group without silicosis (31.9±26.2 vs 2.8±8.7; p<0.001). Conclusions: The prevalence of silicosis in mining workers was found to be high. The disease is related to silica dust exposure with inappropriate personal protection and has a negative impact on workers’ quality of life.

No. of bitstreams: 1 Camila Brito Borgo.pdf: 851728 bytes, checksum: 45a214539b907901798bcae503bfaee1 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2012-08-30 / This study began with the interest in deepening into the knowledge about the sex profession aiming to identify aspects and meanings of the process of professionalization of women prostitution that provides sexual services in one of the largest brothels area of southeastern Brazil. The question that guided the research was: how women prostitutes understand the process of professionalization of the sex profession? To this purpose, we opted a qualitative research, which were used as instruments: a literature review, a semi-structured interview and direct observation. The data analysis was based on the categorization proposed by Bardin (2002),where five categories were defined: the first was to examine the conditions under which prostitution is exercised: Laboral vulnerability space and work environment. The second category brought to discussion were the attributes required for the profession and identification of these professionals. The third category attempted to clarify questions about citizenship in prostitution it investigate the prostitutes needs and aspirations as professionals. The fourth category sought to understand the knowledge of sex workers on the project law 98 / 2003 authored by former Congressman Fernando Gabeira (PV-RJ) by examining the political awareness of the women interviewed, their participation in unions and political articulation by NGOs. Finally, the fifth and last category proposes the conjugation of the sex profession in the optical of the law project, where the realization of the profession is faced with labor autonomy required from the Ministry of Labor and Employment and, therefore, we sought to understand whether the regulation of the profession of sex interfere positively or negatively in the work activity practiced by them and if prostitutes are adhering to the regulation. The study revealed that in the view of all the people interviewed who have sex in exchange for money or benefits are considered prostitutes, that there should be no categorization of professionals who influence the regulation of the profession, that the environment where prostitution is practiced places high risks for sex worker, that they aspire to change that only a law could assure them, but do not want to bear the burden imposed by labor legislation; that the action of NGOs is unstructured and personal, not covering the category in an fully way, and that this abandonment is reflected in politics unarticulated ways that keeps the labor improvement, that assures a healthy and better environment, away from them, spreading among them a lack of future perspective, that sex work is considered inferior when compared to the other types of work, despite the respondents claim that this is a real profession, its contents reflect a speech replete with nonsense, value, meaning, marginality, inferiority and stigma imposed by society historically. The contribution of the study, in this first look, is to point out the needs of sex workers under their vision, from a look that was born from below, showing that strategic measures in public policy and the articulation of NGOs must be born in this same direction, giving a voice to sex workers and educate them of their work and their rights. The research also proposes the inclusion of vocational learning centers close to brothels for prostitution becomes a lifestyle choice, not fate of women who sell their bodies for survival / O presente trabalho tem como objetivo analisar a manifestação da cooperação no cotidiano laboral dos trabalhadores do eixo operacional de uma grande mineradora com sede no estado do Espírito Santo.

Currently the miner is a stigmatized figure by certain segments of Roraimas society, however he is historically important for being part of their culture and identity. Thinking about this issue, this paper studies the construction of identity in the mining of Tepequém. It thus explores the imaginary around the El Dorado and its relation with Roraima; it also discusses individual and collective memory from the life stories of the miners, and then analyzes their identity from the imaginary of the mining, mainly from the corrutela, the prostitute, the drink and the dream of finding a stone that would change their lives.

Využití systému LISp-Miner při analýze faktorů ovlivňujících dominanci sinic ve fytoplanktonu / Utilization of System LISp-Miner in the Analysis of the Factors Influencing the Dominance of Cyanobacteria in Phytoplankton

Hlaváčová, Tereza January 2013 (has links)
The aim of this work is to describe steps associated with solving analytical questions using the LISp-Miner in the data from water-analyzes of 12 ponds in South Bohemia in the period from year 2007 to 2012. Analytical questions are primarily focused on issues of cyanobacteria, based on instructions of data-owner, Povodí Vltavy, státní podnik. Apart from a description of the application of procedures KL-Miner, CF-Miner and 4ft-Miner on data, the work aims to prepare an automating process based on steps made during using procedures. The theoretical part is a summary of the basic concepts and principles associated with association rules and GUHA method. The practical part follows the CRISP-DM methodology. The result is a proposal of automation process by which it is possible to look for interesting rules in the hydrobiological and hydrochemical data. Then there is a set of recommendations for better utilization of database for KDD, with proposals how to modify and prepare the data.

Analýza reálných dat produktové redakce Alza.cz pomocí metod DZD / Analysis of real data from Alza.cz product department using methods of KDD

Válek, Martin January 2014 (has links)
This thesis deals with data analysis using methods of knowledge discovery in databases. The goal is to select appropriate methods and tools for implementation of a specific project based on real data from Alza.cz product department. Data analysis is performed by using association rules and decision rules in the Lisp-Miner and decision trees in the RapidMiner. The methodology used is the CRISP-DM. The thesis is divided into three main sections. First section is focused on the theoretical summary of information about KDD. There are defined basic terms and described the types of tasks and methods of KDD. In the second section is introduced the methodology CRISP-DM. The practical part firstly introduces company Alza.cz and its goals for this task. Afterwards, the basic structure of the data and preparation for the next step (data mining) is described. In conclusion, the results are evaluated and the possibility of their use is outlined.

Automatizace dataminingového procesu v datech o dopravních nehodách v Londýně / Automation of a data mining process in the road accidents data from London by the LISp-Miner system

Soukup, Tomáš January 2015 (has links)
This thesis is focused on the area of automated data mining and to describe steps associated with solving analytical questions using the LISp-Miner system in the data with road accident records. Analytical tasks were primarily created based on domene knowledge from road accidents statistics in Great Britain and from previous analysis in my semestral project. The aim of this thesis is creation of an automated data mining process for analyze the input data by applying 4ft-Miner, Ac4ft-Miner a SD4ft-Miner procedures, and looking for a new knowledge for every single year of the analyzed period. The implementation language is the LMCL language that enables usage of the LISp-Miner system's functionality in an automated way. These created scripts could be used for analyses of another dataset with the same structure or with some manual changes in initial parameters for the quite different data.
