Musik – En viktig del i förskolan : Fyra förskollärares perspektiv på musikverksamheten i förskolan / Music - An Important Part in Preschool : Four Preschool Teachers Perspectives regarding the Music Activities in Preschool

Almgren, Josefin January 2016 (has links)
The purpose of my study is to examine how four preschool teachers that work in a music-preschool observe the function of music in preschool and the importance of music activities for children in preschool. I decided to use a semi-structured group interview were four preschool teachers participated. I chose Vygotsky's sociocultural perspective as a theoretical starting point in my work. In my results, I could see a pattern of cooperation, community and the children's influence as aspects that are important for preschool teachers who participated in my survey. Every question that preschool teachers discussed during the interview took a starting point of children's interests and based on children's conditions.

Collaborations between music therapist and parents to transfer music therapy activities into the home context for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder

Tracey, Kerryn A. January 2017 (has links)
This qualitative research study explored areas of similarity and contrast between a music therapy student's interpretations of selected audiovisual excerpts from music therapy sessions with a child with Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and his parent's interpretations of the same. A further feature of the study was investigating how these interpretations could inform the collaborative creation of a music activity for use in the home environment. Eight one-on-one music therapy sessions were conducted with an eight year-old boy with ASD at Alpha School in the Western Cape. The sessions were video recorded. Once the music therapy process was complete, four primary excerpts and five secondary excerpts were selected. Interpretations of the four primary excerpts were written by the music therapy student. A semi-structured interview consisting of two parts was then conducted with the child's parent. Part one involved eliciting the parent's interpretations of the four primary excerpts. Part two involved the viewing of the five secondary excerpts as part of a discussion between the music therapy student and parent, leading to the collaborative creation of a music activity for the home environment. The interpretations of the music therapy student and parent were matched with the music therapy student's interpretations for the purposes of qualitative content analysis and comparative analysis. Codes were derived for the interpretations, and then grouped into sub-categories and categories. Two overarching themes were then drawn from the data: operation of the music therapy student's contextual lens; and operation of the parent's lens. Within these two themes, different sub-themes were present: music therapy student’s reflexivity; focus on developing relationship; focus on clinical musical features; valuing offerings as musical; parent's pride in her child; noticing musical interactions; and focusing on successful interactions. These themes then implicitly informed the collaborative creation of a music activity for the home context. / Dissertation (MMus)--University of Pretoria, 2017. / Music / MMus / Unrestricted

Sundström, Malin January 2015 (has links)
The purpose with this study is to inquire how a number of active preschool teachers use music in their daily work with children. It also looks at the meaning they think music can have to the whole group of children, especially in terms of solidarity and interaction in the group. In order to study this I chose to use questionnaires as the method. These questionnaires consisted of open questions to enable longer answers from de participants in an effort to hear their thoughts and get their point of view. The result of this study shows that all of the participants seem to have good experiences from musical activities with the preschool children. They all state that they think music has a significant meaning for solidarity and interaction in the children´s group. Many of the participants also seem to connect music with other subjects, such as development of language, communication, movement and feelings. To understand the data gathered from the study I used the theory of developmental psychology and also the sociocultural perspective.

Musik i äldreomsorgen : Äldreomsorgspersonalens uppfattningar om lärande av musikaktiviteter / Music in elderly care : Caregivers perceptions about learning of music activities

Hansson, Carolina, Zackrisson, Mikaela January 2017 (has links)
The aim of this study was to investigate how healthcare professionals perceive the importance of music as part of care in elderly care. The study has been inspired by the phenomenographic methodology aimed at detecting variations in caregivers' perceptions of music in elderly care. The data collection methods used in this study are participatory observations conducted during a music activity, as well as semi-structured interviews with caregivers. The analysis has been conducted based on a phenomenographic analysis model and has resulted in three descriptive categories:functional ability, emotions and learning together with associated subcategories. The result shows that music can improve old people´s memory, mobility and affect their mood. Music in elderly care can also increase the well-being and quality of life of elderly people, as well as contribute to the learning of staff that can increase the quality of care for the elderly.

Plzeňská konzervatoř se zaměřením na houslové oddělení / The Pilsen Conservatory with a Focus on the Violin Department

Přibová, Marie January 2019 (has links)
The diploma thesis "The Pilsen Conservatory with a Focus on the Violin Department" first deals with historical contexts that are connected with important violin personalities of the Pilsen Conservatory. The first part presents historical events which are linked to significant violinists of the Conservatory in Pilsen. Its aim is to present complex overview of the teachers who worked at the Conservatory from its beginning and who contributed to the high level of the Violin department with their experienced work. The thesis also focuses on the important graduates who represented or still represent the school with their pedagogical and artistic success at diverse musical events either in the Czech Republic or abroad. The second part brings interesting interviews with the teachers and the graduates of the school. Among them the most interesting are the parts where the teachers explain the methodology, which they use in their lessons. From the point of view of the oral history the teachers' memories of their beginning with the violin, difficulties during the study or their life are also very interesting.

Lidové písně a jejich úloha v hudebním rozvoji dětí v mateřské škole / Folk songs and their role in the musical development of nursery school children

Bohatá, Martina January 2016 (has links)
The aim of the thesis is to address the important role and benefit of folk songs in the development of child's musical skills. The theoretical part studies children currently attending nursery schools and their development. Children are often in heterogeneous by age classes but each age category is on a different level of development and has own specific needs. At the same time it is necessary to work in accordance with the education system and follow its curriculum. The thesis offers guidelines that give suggestions and examples of how to fulfil this requirement by working with a selection of folk songs. The majority of exercises address the all-round development of the child's musical skills (activities: exercises with music, instrumental, singing and listening). There are examples of other activities facititating all- round development of the child based on the topic of the song.
