Hållbar utveckling inom NPI-process : fokus på koldioxidutsläpp och CSR / Sustainable development in the NPI process : focus on carbon emissions and CSRJorat Hashemi, Sahar, Popiel, Jessica, Rönn, Felix January 2022 (has links)
Organisationen i Borås fokuserar främst på NPI-verksamheten, dvs New Production Introduction. / At present, industry accounts for one third of Sweden's total carbon dioxide emissions. In addition to carbon dioxide emissions from industry, there are emissions from all forms of transport. Ericsson's goal is to become CO2-neutral by 2030, with a view to achieving zero CO2 emissions by 2040. This is a common goal for all of Ericsson, not least Ericsson in Borås. The organization in Borås focuses primarily on the NPI business, i.e. New Production Introduction. Within the NPI business, prototypes are handled through a number of tests in order to meet customer requirements and expectations before pre-series production. The study will investigate how the organisation in Borås is positioned towards the common goal of being CO2-neutral and their approach to achieve this goal. It is also of interest to follow up how the organisation works with their social responsibility, CSR, focusing on the ecological dimension. The ecological dimension includes general sustainability issues and the extent to which the business is working to take social responsibility for their environmental issues. The case study is based on both quantitative and qualitative methods for a broader insight into how the organization works with sustainability and CSR. In the qualitative method, the case study is based on six respondents in the form of a semistructured interview, where all respondents are employees of Ericsson in Borås. The quantitative study is based on a questionnaire that Ericsson's largest subcontractors received. The quantitative study also includes data from Ericsson's internal intranet, which is the basis for a life cycle analysis. The study reports that the common goal for Ericsson to be CO2-neutral is not broken down to organisational level in Borås. Hence, there are no clear directions on how the organisation should work to achieve this common goal. However, there is a positive commitment to put more focus on reaching the common goal in the future. All respondents claim that the organisation in Borås puts more focus on the social and economic dimension of CSR, and the ecological dimension has not been prioritised to the same extent. The life cycle analysis produced resulted in the need to review means of transport and to plan ahead in terms of materials. In NPI operations, aircraft are used as a frequent means of transport, which is the main culprit in terms of CO2 emissions. As delivery to which results in a large environmental footprint in terms of CO2 emissions.

Vem där? : Extraversion, narcissism och Facebook-aktivitet hos unga vuxnaEriksson, Johanna, Björklund, Frida January 2011 (has links)
The aim of this study was to examine the relationship between the level of extraversion and narcissism, and Facebook usage. In the study 114 adolescents participated, 70 women and 44 men. One part of the NEO-FFI was used to estimate the level of extraversion. Parts of the NPI were used to estimate the level of narcissism. A new test was constructed for Facebook usage. ANCOVA and correlational tests were used. There was a significant correlation between extraversion and high level of Facebook usage. Extrovert individuals had more friends and photos, and used the functions for chat and events more frequently. Narcissistic individuals estimated their profile picture as more attractive.

The Need for a Multiple Accounts Cost-Benefit Analysis of COVID-19 Response Measures in British ColumbiaDe Almeida, Steven 22 September 2022 (has links)
By reviewing pre-existing academic literature, research, and data (both international and domestic), this report examines information from a variety of sources to contextualize the threat of COVID-19 against the negative consequences of COVID-19 non-pharmaceutical intervention (NPI) response measures. The qualitative and quantitative data in this report highlights costs associated with COVID-19 response measures relative to the threat of COVID-19 and has been collected to inform a Multiple Accounts Cost-Benefit Analysis (CBA). This report emphasizes the costs associated with NPIs as they relate to physical and mental health, as well as human rights and economic concerns. Overall, a review of available evidence did find a relationship between COVID-19 NPI response measure implementation and negative outcomes. In fact, it remains unclear if NPIs are proportionate or even effective against the risk posed by COVID-19. How NPIs might be optimized (i.e., to reduce the negative effects of their implementation) remains unclear as mild to severe NPI implementation can yield similar outcomes. Following the above analysis, this report provides recommendations to the Government of BC to ensure that COVID-19 response measures are optimized and proposes that a Multiple Accounts CBA of NPI implementation be completed. / Graduate

Over the years, narcissist characteristics have increased, suggesting that young people today are more narcissistic than the young adults of previous generations. The fact is due to changes in contemporary society and to the interference of culture on personality. Narcissism is a psychoanalytic construct and is responsible for protecting the "I" and adjusts the subject's self-esteem. Among the various measures of narcissism developed, the Narcissistic Personality Inventory (NPI) has been the instrument most used in empirical studies, evaluating normal narcissism, ie, non-defensive and well resolved. Thus, this study sought to identify the narcissistic personality characteristics in 350 young adult college students, by gender, age and type of college of these young people, as well as perform an initial analysis of the psychometric properties of the NPI. This study took a quantitative design, transversal. Data analysis was performed using descriptive and inferential statistics, followed by the Student t test and ANOVA to identify mean differences between groups, as well as Exploratory and Confirmatory Factor Analysis of the NPI. As a result of the study, analysis of 14 the initial psychometric characteristics of the instrument showed a factor solution of six factors, which underscores the multidimensionality of the instrument and the need to specify aspects of hierarchical dimensions. Still, a more discriminating analysis shows that in relation to sex of participants, men had higher rates in NPI compared to women. As to the age, there weren´t significant differences in scores related to narcissism. Finally, regarding the areas of knowledge, university students of Exact Sciences courses showed higher narcissism scores than students of Human and Health Sciences.

Relationship Status: It's Complicated - The Role of Narcissism in the Development of Relationships Through FacebookSaad, Michael 13 September 2012 (has links)
The presence of both narcissism and social capital in the digital social networking site Facebook is altering the dynamic of relationship development. Therefore, the central research question directing this study is as follows: What role do narcissistic personality traits play in bridging social capital on Facebook? From this, two sub-questions are raised: 1) What are the motives for users to express narcissistic traits through Facebook? 2) How is narcissistic-motivated activity influencing social capital development through Facebook? Guiding this thesis are concepts of social tie relationships (as they apply to narcissism), and digital social networks. An exploratory study of in-depth interviews was utilized to conduct such research. A key objective in this thesis is understanding motive and purpose for generating social capital in an online environment. The findings from this study suggest Facebook is a facilitator for the expression of narcissistic traits. As a result, this is influencing the disconnected and questionable value of digital social capital.

Intonation of sentences with an NPIIshihara, Shinichiro January 2007 (has links)
This paper presents the results of a production experiment on the intonation of sentences containing a negative polarity item (NPI) in Tokyo Japanese. The results show that NPI sentences exhibit a focus intonation: the F₀-peak of the word to which an NPI is attached is raised, while the pitch contour after the NPI-attached word is compressed until the negation. This intonation pattern is parallel to that of wh-question, in which the F₀ of the wh-phrase is raised while the post-wh-contour is compressed until the question particle.
