Orientador: Nilva Kazue Sakomura / Banca: Euclides Braga Malheiros / Banca: José Fernando Machado Menten / Resumo: Foram conduzidos seis experimentos para determinar as exigências de lisina (Lis) e de metionina + cistina (Met+cis) digestíveis para aves de corte da linhagem ISA Label de ambos os sexos em sistema semi-confinado durante as fases inicial (1 aos 28 dias), crescimento (28 aos 56 dias) e final (56 aos 84 dias). Em cada experimento um total de 480 aves foram alojadas em 24 piquetes. Cada piquete dispunha de área coberta de 3,13 m2 e área de pastejo de 72,87 m2. O delineamento experimental utilizado foi o inteiramente casualizado, em esquema fatorial 4x2 (níveis de aminoácido e sexo) com três repetições de 20 aves cada. Os níveis de lisina digestível avaliados foram: 0,850; 0,970; 1,090; 1,210% na fase inicial; 0,750; 0,870; 0,990; 1,110% na fase crescimento e 0,640; 0,760; 0,880; 1,000% na fase final. Os níveis de Met+cis digestível avaliados foram: 0,532; 0,652; 0,772; 0,892% na fase inicial; 0,515; 0,635; 0,755; 0,875% na fase de crescimento e 0,469; 0,589; 0,709; 0,829% na fase final. Avaliou-se o desempenho, característica de carcaça, deposição de proteína e gordura corporal, peso e teor de proteína das penas. De acordo com os resultados recomenda-se níveis de lisina digestível para ambos os sexos de 1,041%; 1,006% e 0,760% na ração para as fases inicial, crescimento e final, respectivamente. Na fase inicial o nível de Met+cis digestível na ração, indicado para machos é de 0,728% e para fêmeas é de 0,774%. Na fase de crescimento recomenda-se o nível de 0,716% de Met+cis digestível na ração para aves de ambos os sexos. Na fase final o nível de Met+cis digestível indicado para melhorar o desempenho de machos é 0,756% e de fêmeas é 0,597% na ração. / Abstract: Six assay were carried out to determine digestible lysine and methionine+cys requirements for ISA Label, for both sex, in free range system on starter phase (1 to 28 days), grower phase (28 to 56 days) and finisher phase (56 to 84 days). 480 birds were distributed into 24 pens, each one composed by shelter (3.13 m2) and pasture (72.87m2). Experimental design was a completely randomized with 8 treatments as factorial arrangement (four levels of amino acids and two sexes) with three replicates of 20 birds. The digestible lysine levels were 0.850; 0.970; 1.090; 1.210% for starter phase; 0.750; 0.870; 0.990; 1.110% for grower phase and 0.640; 0.760; 0.880; 1.000% for finisher phase. The digestible methionine+cys levels were 0.532; 0.652; 0.772; 0.892% for starter phase; 0.515; 0.635; 0.755; 0.875% for grower phase and 0.469; 0.589; 0.709; 0.829% for finisher phase. The parameters analyzed were performance, carcass yield, body protein and fat deposition, weight and protein in the feathers. The digestible lysine level estimated, for both sex, were 1.041%; 1.006% e 0.760% in the diet for starter phase, grower phase and finisher phase, respectively. In the starter phase, the digestible methionine+cys level estimated for males was 0.728% and 0.774% for females. For grower phase, the digestible methionine+cys level estimated was 0.716% for both sexes. For the finisher phase, the methionine+cys level were 0.756% and 0.597% for males and females, respectively. / Mestre

Essa conjectura foi proposta por Roger Penrose em 1969, e diz que singularidades resultantes de colapso gravitacional de matéria fisicamente razoável estão sempre envolvidas por um horizonte de eventos, ou seja, escondidas de um observador externo. Apesar de muitas evidências a favor dessa conjectura, ela nunca foi provada. Nossa meta é analisar se essa conjectura pode ser violada classicamente sob especificas circunstâncias. Começaremos com uma introdução ao assunto, apresentando os conceitos que nos serão úteis ao longo de nosso trabalho. Depois investigaremos os trabalhos anteriores na área, que visaram destruir o horizonte de eventos de um buraco negro, criando assim uma singularidade nua (visível), e consequentemente violando a conjectura. Por fim, apresentaremos nossos resultados, que podem ser divididos em duas partes: (i) generalização dos casos clássicos obtidos anteriormente, e demonstração, sob dadas condições, da violação da conjectura para um buraco negro de Kerr-Newman e (ii) análise da validade da conjectura para um buraco negro com cinco dimensões em um espaço-tempo assintoticamente AdS, dando assim uma contribuição para a correspondência AdS/CFT / Abstract: The aim of this work is to test the Weak Cosmic Censorship Conjecture in black holes. This conjecture was proposed by Roger Penrose in 1969, and it states that singularities arising from the gravitational collapse of physically reasonable matter are always involved by an event horizon, i.e., they are hidden from an external observer. Despite so much evidence in favor of this conjecture, it has never been proven. Our aim is to analyze if this conjecture can be violated classically under specific circumstances. We will start with an introduction to the subject, presenting the concepts that will be useful throughout the work. After that, we will investigate the previous studies in the field that tried to destroy the event horizon of a black hole, creating a naked (visible) singularity, and hence violating the conjecture. Lastly, we will present our results, which may be divided in two parts: (i) generalization of the classic cases previously obtained, and demonstration, under specific conditions, of the violation of the conjecture in a spacetime with a Kerr-Newman black hole and (ii) study of the validity of this conjecture with a five-dimensional rotating black hole in a asymptotically AdS spacetime, making a contribution to the AdS/CFT correspondence / Doutorado / Física / Doutor em Ciências

Recent investigations of hypoxia physiology in the naked mole rat have opened up an interesting line of research into the basic physiological and genomic alterations that accompany hypoxia survival. The extent to which such findings connect the effect of hypoxia to metabolic rate (O2 consumption), core body temperature (Tb), and transcripts encoding the immediate early gene product (such as c-fos) under a constant ambient temperature (Ta) is not well known. We investigated this issue in the current study. Our first sets of experiments measured Tb and metabolic rates during exposure of naked mole rats to hypoxia over a constant Ta. Hypoxia significantly decreased metabolic rates in the naked mole rat. Although core Tb also decreased during hypoxia, the effect of hypoxia in suppressing core Tb was not significant. The second series of experiments revealed that c-fos protein and mRNA expression in the hippocampus neurons (CA1) increased in naked mole rats that were repeatedly exposed to 3% O2 for 60min per day for 5 days when compared to normoxia. Our findings provide evidence for the up-regulation of c-fos and suppression of metabolic rate in hypoxia tolerating naked mole rats under constant ambient temperature. Metabolic suppression and c-fos upregulation constitute part of the physiological complex associated with adaptation to hypoxia.

I detta arbete har jag undersökt vad elever känner inför att befinna sig i omklädningsrummet innan och efter idrottslektionen. Jag har därmed undersökt om det förekommer oro hos eleverna inför situationen samt om det finns skillnader i flickors och pojkars föreställningar. Syftet har varit att undersöka elever i 10-12 års ålderns känslor inför intima situationer i slutna rum. Jag vill synliggöra elevers uppfattningar för pedagoger och vuxna inom skolan för att de ska kunna agera. Genusforskning har legat som grund för att se till flickor och pojkars upplevelser av omklädningsrummet. Tillsammans med Bourdieus habitusteori har elevers olika uppfattningar till situationen i omklädningsrummet diskuterats. Metoden var till störst del kvantitativ och enkäter användes. De öppna svarsalternativen behandlades kvalitativt och det var 129 elever som deltog. Det visade sig att de flesta eleverna alltid kände sig bekväma i omklädningsrummet, dock får inte de som kände sig obekväma negligeras. Det fanns inga signifikanta skillnader mellan flickor och pojkars upplevelser men emellertid kände sig pojkar i en viss utsträckning bekvämare än flickorna i omklädningsrummet. Vidare framgick att många elever kände sig obekväma inför att visa sig nakna inför andra. / In this paper I have examine how pupils feel about the changing-room before and after the Physical education. I have therefore investigated if it exist uneasiness among the pupils about the situation and if there is any differences between girls and boys experiences. The purpose of this paper have been to examine 10-12 years age pupils feelings about intimacy in closed rooms. I want to illustrate pupils experiences of the changing-room to teachers and adults in the school so that they could act. Genderstudies has been used as a foundation in my work to observe girls and boys experiences of the changing-room. Discussions have been made together with Bourdieus habitustheory to pupils different opinion of the situation in the changing-room. The method was first of all quantitative with questionnaires, but some open alternatives were treated qualitative, 129 pupils participate. It was proved to be most common that the pupils always felt comfortable in the locker room, although those who didn`t should not be ignored. It was no significant differences between girls and boys experiences other than that boys in som way felt more comfortable in the changing-room than the girls. Further appear that several pupils felt uncomfortable to be present of others when they were naked.

The aim of this study is to examine how a diversity of bodies are represented in Naked Attraction Sweden. Our interest in how the TV-show represents bodily diversity is based on the fact that the program is new to the realm of reality and dating television, as well as contributes to a new genre. The study has been conducted on three of the episodes from season 1 of Naked Attraction Sweden, which were analyzed through a Multimodal Critical Discourse analysis. This method has been adapted to visual and verbal material in order to analyze both aspects of the selected episodes. With the aid of Representation Theory, Politeness Theory, Norm Criticism, Discourse Theory and previous research, we were able to approach an understanding of the object of study. The research question that emerged follows; How is a diversity of bodies constructed and represented in Naked Attraction Sweden through the production's verbal and visual choices?  The results of this study show that there is a contradiction in how a diversity of bodies are represented in Naked Attraction Sweden. It is mainly through the participants' experience that  the program is representing a diversity of bodies. The majority of them felt empowered by their participation. On the other hand, Naked Attraction Sweden does not represent bodily diversity, and rather upholds society’s bodily norms, which is exposed through several aspects of the choices made by the production team. This is constructed through the choice of participants by the production team, how the participants in the boxes look and how they are commented on according to body preference.
