A leitura crítica da poesia e das crônicas de Ana Paula Tavares é conduzida nesta tese a partir das relações entre literatura e história, com especial atenção para a resposta expressiva da autora angolana às perspectivas e às vozes das mulheres situadas social, histórica e culturalmente. Nas crônicas e nos poemas analisados, esses pontos de articulação com a história se revelam pela forma como os signos da cultura, da vida, da sexualidade, da maternidade, da resistência e dos desafios impostos às mulheres pela matriz de dominação masculina, pelas guerras e pelas crises sociais são codificados em linguagem poética a partir da visão organizadora de uma autoracriadora inscrita nos textos. A trajetória desse olhar que se desenha na produção da autora e se reflete na forma como são expressas as vozes das mulheres é traçada por meio da leitura atenta dos livros de poemas Ritos de Passagem, O lago da lua, Dizes-me coisas amargas como frutos e Ex-votos, assim como das crônicas publicadas em A cabeça de Salomé. / This thesis conducts the critical reading of the poetry and the chronicles of Ana Paula Tavares using the relations between literature and history as a starting point, with a particular focus on the Angolan author\'s expressive response to women\'s points of view and voices situated in social, historical, and cultural contexts. In the chronicles and poems analyzed these articulation points with history reveal themselves by the way symbols of culture, life, sexuality, maternity, resistance, and challenges imposed to women through the matrix of male domination, wars, and social crisis are coded in poetic language from the organizing view of an author-creator inscribed in her own texts. The trajectory of this gaze that is drawn in the author\'s work and that reflects itself in the way that women\'s voices are expressed was traced by the close reading of the books of poems Ritos de Passagem, O lago da lua, Dizes-me coisas amargas como frutos and Ex-votos, as well as the chronicles published in A cabeça de Salomé.

Para tal, é analisado o processo de hibridação e de construção do entrelugar na poesia da escritora angolana. É observado que esse discurso poético é marca de hibridismo, que se efetiva como uma tradução cultural e é instrumento de formação de identidades feminina e nacional. Constata-se que essa poesia se consagra como lócus privilegiado da enunciação feminina. Além disso, outro aspecto marcante é constituído pela presença das religiosidades africanas, dos ritos da tradição do sul de Angola, região de Huíla, terra de origem da poeta. Essa terra é reterritorializada nos espaços de diáspora do discurso pós-colonial. Evidencia-se, também, o poder erótico e sagrado do corpo-mulher, que se traduz em corpo-poema e corpo-nação, por meio da aglutinação da oralidade e da escrita e da reedição da memória ancestral. É percebido que os ciclos da vida são cumpridos acompanhando o ritmo da natureza e que o silêncio da poesia abre espaço para a voz do subalterno gritar. Também é ressaltado que esse discurso está atravessado pelo lirismo amoroso e é envolvido pela metáfora da guerra, representando as guerras civis pelas quais passou Angola; a guerra pelo autoconhecimento; a guerra amorosa e a guerra com as palavras. A poesia-resistência perpetua e rasura a tradição africana, dá voz ao grito feminino, sacraliza a palavra e a vida e com força erótica constrói novas identidades. Para embasar esta pesquisa bibliográfica, usa-se o método hipotético-dedutivo. Em síntese, é traçado um panorama da circularidade temática presente na poesia de Paula Tavares para revelar a construção de identidades individuais e coletivas. / The aim of this doctoral thesis is to understand how the building process of identities in the poetry of the angolan Paula Tavares is. To do that, the process of hybridization and the construction of the “space in-between” in the poetry of the angolan writer were analyzed. It is observed that this poetic discourse is a mark of hybridity, which is effective as a cultural translation and an instrument for the formation of feminine and national identities. It is verified that this poetry has established itself as a privileged lócus of female enunciation. In addition, another striking aspect is constituted by the presence of African religions and the rites of the southern tradition of Angola, region of Huíla, land where the poet was born. This land is re-territorialized in the diaspora spaces of post-colonial discourse. It is, also, evident the erotic and sacred power of the woman-body, which translates into body-poem and body-nation, through the aglutination of orality and writing and the reprint of ancestral memory. It is perceived that the cycles of life are fulfilled following the rhythm of nature and that the silence of the poetry makes room for the voice of the subaltern scream. It is also emphasized that this discourse is crossed by the loving lyricism and is surrounded by the metaphor of war, representing the civil wars through which Angola passed; the war for self-knowledge; the war of love and war with words. The poetry-resistance perpetuates and erases the African tradition, gives voice to the feminine cry, sanctifies the word and life and with erotic force builds new identities. This bibliographical research is based on the hypothetical-deductive method. In summary, it is a panorama of the thematic circularity present in the poetry of Paula Tavares to reveal the construction of individual and collective identities.

Tendo como objeto de estudo obras poéticas de Hilda Hilst, brasileira; e Ana Paula Tavares, angolana, esta pesquisa visa a discutir caracteres da construção identitária culturalmente atribuídos à condição feminina, a partir das manifestações eróticas representadas poeticamente na obra dessas autoras. Embora sejam escritoras não diretamente vinculadas a um programa literário feminista, ao representarem poeticamente o erotismo, contribuem para promover a emancipação da mulher. Associam-se, assim, construção erótica e construção da cidadania, analisadas neste projeto de um ângulo simultaneamente literário e sócio-existencial. / Taking as an object of study poetic works from Hilda Hilst, Brazilian; and Ana Paula Tavares, Angolan, this inquiry aims to discuss characters from the identity construction culturally attributed to the feminine condition, derived from the erotic demonstrations poetically represented in the work of these authors. Though they are writers not straightly linked to a literary feminist program, while representing poetically the eroticism they contribute to promote the emancipation of women. Therefore, the erotic construction and the citizenship construction have been associated and analyzed in this project simultaneously from a literary and a social-existential angle.

From the theoretical discussions about the concept of body, elucidating the writings of women authors in Angola as outraged bodies (subaltern, uncommon, foreigners, handicapped, unruly, insurgent or minority), we intend to develop a deeper look in the prose of Ana Paula Tavares, and how a feminine bodily representation appears and could be treated. / Esta dissertação tem como objetivo a análise das representações do corpo feminino nas crônicas da escritora angolana Ana Paula Tavares, reunidas na obra A cabeça de Salomé (2004). A partir das discussões teóricas sobre o conceito de corpo, que elucida as escritas de autoria feminina em Angola enquanto corpos ultrajados (subalternos, não-comuns, estrangeiros, deficientes, indisciplinados, rebeldes ou minoritários), pretende-se desenvolver um olhar mais pontual sobre a prosa de Ana Paula Tavares, e como as representações corpóreas do feminino aparecem e podem ser tratadas.

Tais configurações imagéticas constituem passo importante para o estudo de dois casos de personagens vampiros nas literaturas africanas de língua portuguesa: “O mistério da Rua da Missão”, de Ana Paula Tavares, e “M. de Malária”, de José Eduardo Agualusa. Situados dentro do cenário literário angolano contemporâneo, procurar-se-á uma abordagem destes textos que aponte a coerência contextual de seus protagonistas com as propostas estéticas pós-coloniais. / This thesis aims to study the case of representations of the literary vampire, articulating some thoughts around their first appearances in the cultural landscape of the Eighteenth Century, spreading across three important texts of the Nineteenth Century by the novelists Polidori, Le Fanu and Stoker. Such imagetic settings are an important step for the study of the two cases of vampire characters in African Portuguese literatures: "O mistério da Rua da Missão", by Ana Paula Tavares, and "M. de Malaria",by José Eduardo Agualusa. Situated within contemporary Angolan literary scene, we will do an approach of these texts wich point a contextual coherence of its protagonists with the postcolonial aesthetic proposals.
