Medeiros, Humberto Duarte de 29 April 2008 (has links)
Made available in DSpace on 2015-03-04T21:02:08Z (GMT). Enquanto Nietzsche nega a realidade do pecado, Paulo edifica seu conceito de corrupção / In this paper, I seek to analyze the basic vision of this man in the thought of the philosopher Nietzsche and the apostle Paul. In this double looking, I try to contemplate the relationship existing in the vision of man nietzschiana and in the vision pauline. This search is given from the writings of the authors and their commentators, trying to identify the reasons for man's vision of each thinkers in focus. The first part of the text has as its purpose to identify the concept of corruption of man. For Nietzsche corruption present in the man is a product of the reality of Christianity. He attaches the Christian faith as responsible for the corruption of humanity. This process made by the invention of the idea of a God punishment and rewarding. Linked with the idea of God, sin and its consequences also was a Christian invention to manipulate mankind. Thus, it shows that man must break with these ideas, because they deny and destroy his life. As Nietzsche denies the reality of sin, Paulo builds its concept of

Remembering Asar: An Argument to Authenticate RastafarI's Conceptualization(s) of Haile Selassie I

McAllister, Cher Love January 2009 (has links)
Since the emergence of RastafarI communities within 1930's Jamaica following the coronation of Ras Tafari Makonnen as Haile Selassie I, Negus (king) of Ethiopia, RastafarI continuously articulate his divinity within their discourse. While the specific nomenclature for and significance of Haile Selassie I may vary in accordance to time and affiliation, it is unquestionable that Selassie I remains central to the RastafarI way of life for more than 70 years. What scholars and thinkers on RastafarI question, and very fervently so during the past 10 years, is the authenticity of the divinity of Selassie I within RastafarI thought. The few scholars who attempt to solve what for them is the "problem of authenticity," claim, through christological and apologistic approaches, that RastafarI need to reconsider the possibility of his status, as it is conjecture and blasphemy. Adhering to African epistemological assumptions that everything in existence comprises the whole of existence, we rely on an African symbolic approach to examine RastafarI conceptualizations of Selassie I within pre-coronation, coronation and post-coronation RastafarI writings. Given that the material reality seemingly degenerates the collective body and consciousness in accordance with the cycles of time as expressed within the most ancient of Kemetic cosmologies, our aim is to suggest that Haile Selassie I emerges as a ba, the soul template, of Asar, a force manifesting as the human ability and potential to exist within the material realm in accordance with the unseen realm of existence. We conclude, unlike previous academic thinkers who examine RastafarI thought, that RastafarI thinking about Haile Selassie I is therefore an authentic perspective, one that undoubtedly occurs in accordance with the structure and origin of the universe and the cyclical journey of Africana reclamation of a primordial consciousness. / African American Studies

Fairweather, Erin Phyllis 31 August 2012 (has links)
This thesis examines the depiction of the feral child through the literary study of 18th and 19th century French texts. This body of research isn’t meant to establish historical facts, or to construct a global history of childhood, but rather it’s a work on the representation of humanity, on the issues surrounding the conceptualizations of childhood and animality that emerged parallel to changes in theological and philosophical ideas or mentalities. Reflecting upon the cases of Marie-Angélique le Blanc, Victor de l’Aveyron, and Kaspar Hauser, and supporting narratives as well as on related anthologies of edifying anecdotes of wise, virtuous, obedient children, this study shows patterns of imagery and themes that confirm that the ways of viewing the child in literature and society is linked to path of thought regarding questions of humanity; stories filled with spiritual connotations fade as faith in science moves to the forefront of inquiry. / Graduate

A legal study of Quevedo's Sueños

Mundo Guinot, Marta January 2021 (has links)
Sueños by Quevedo is a satirical work that contains an incisive social criticism, from which the legal reality of the time does not escape. This interdisciplinary research analyzes the legal component present in Quevedo’s fictional narrative with help from the methodological bridges built between the literary and legal sciences. In this paper a proposed classification of the legal elements is used as the basis for analysis of Sueños’ content and form. By comparing the results with legal documentary sources of the time and with the filter provided by the author's multidimensional philosophical and doctrinal thought, an approach to the historical-legal circumstances of the late sixteenth and early seventeenth centuries is also reached, as well as, Quevedo's view and assessment of the administration of justice and justice itself in his contemporary society. The analysis contributes to a better understanding of Sueños, its author and the time in which it was written.
