Transfert des polluants organiques persistants (POP) du fourrage vers le lait chez le ruminant / Transfer of persistent organic pollutants (POP) of fodder to milk in ruminants

Le ruminant est exposé aux POP déposés sur les prairies. Cette thèse étudie le transfert des PCDD/F, PCB et HAP du fourrage et du sol vers le lait. De l’herbe contaminée en PHE, PYR et B[a]P a été incubée dans le rumen des vaches pour déterminer la disparition in sacco des HAP, des alcanes cuticulaires et de la MS. Les 3 HAP ont disparus (83%) au bout d’1h d’incubation, tandis que les alcanes cuticulaires et la MS ont présenté une disparition plus lente. Les FT des HAP de l’herbe et du sol vers le lait a été étudié in vivo chez la chèvre. Les HAP natifs sont très faiblement transférés vers le lait quelle que soit la matrice d’apport. Le transfert des PCDD/F et PCB du foin contaminé vers le lait a été aussi étudié. Les FT des PCB ont varié de 5 à 90% et pour les PCDD/F de 1 à 40%. Le risque d’exposition de l’homme via le lait peut se présenter notamment pour les PCDD/F et PCB. Les normes actuelles sur les teneurs de HAP dans le lait ainsi que la toxicité du 1-OH-PYR devraient être précisées / Ruminant is exposed to POPs deposited on grasslands. This thesis study the transfer of PCDD/Fs, PCBs and PAHs from fodder and soil to milk. PHE, PYR and B[a]P contaminated grass was incubated in the rumen of cows in order to determine the in sacco disappearance of PAHs, cuticular n-alkanes and DM. The 3 PAHs disappeared (83%) in the 1st hour of incubation while the cuticular n-alkanes and DM disappearance was slower. The transfer of PAHs from grass and soil towards milk has been studied in vivo in goats. The transfer to milk of native PAHs is minimal whatever the matrix ingested. The transfer of PCDD/Fs and PCBs from contaminated hay to milk has been also studied. The CORs of PCBs varied from 5% to 90% and for PCDD/Fs from 1% to 40%. The risk of human exposure via milk could become meanly with PCDD/Fs an PCBs. The current safety threshold values in milk as well as toxicity of 1-OH-PYR must be reviewed

Effect of Permafrost Thaw Slumps on Benthic Invertebrates and on Concentrations of Persistent Organic Pollutants in Lakes of the Mackenzie Delta Uplands, NT

Permafrost thaw slumping along lakeshores in lakes of the Mackenzie Delta Uplands, NT is known to alter water chemistry significantly. Its impact on benthic communities and persistent organic pollutant (POP) behaviour in lakes is not known. Benthic invertebrate communities responded to slumps through changes to community composition and size spectra. Larger taxa tended to dominate in lakes with slumps. Variability in biomass size spectra was related to total dissolved nitrogen concentration and slump size. Concentrations of POPs in Gammarus were negatively correlated with total phosphorus and positively correlated with the percentage of the catchment slumped. Lakes with slumps generally had higher mean concentrations of POPs in Gammarus (ex. ΣPCBsDisturbed = 27.54 ng/g lipid, ΣPCBsUndisturbed = 16.97 ng/g lipid; ΣDDT Disturbed =18.47 ng/g lipid and ΣDDTUndisturbed =10.86 ng/g lipid). Benthic invertebrate biomass was also negatively correlated with concentrations of contaminants in Gammarus, supporting the biomass dilution hypothesis. Thaw slumps have large enough impacts on the physico-chemical characteristics of lakes that they alter benthic invertebrate community composition and size-structure, and contaminant concentrations in Gammarus.

Alt-Modernism : Challenging the idea of postmodernism as a left-wing movement

In this thesis, I’m working from the premise that postmodernism hitherto has been associated with the left. The next line of argument is, however, that this relation is contingent and that there is no necessity in postmodernisms association with left-wing ideas and political ambitions. To challenge this assumption, I intend to demonstrate that the Alt-Right, a far-right movement, at least in some respects can be considered as postmodern. If there is indeed cause to think of the Alt-Right as postmodern, then we would have to rethink postmodernisms political inclination. I intend to operationalize this by looking at the Alt-Right’s views on the changeability of politics and the social world, and pop culture, through the lens of a set of postmodern ideas. In particular, postmodern ideas concerning language, discourse and culture, and in doing so get a grip on whether it is correct to view the Alt-Right as postmodern or not. If a connection between the Alt-Right and postmodernism indeed exists, then we would have to rethink the necessity in the left-wing nature of postmodernism.

This master thesis analyzes activities of South Korean companies from music industry in the markets in Europe and this analysis is based on a questionnaire survey. The first part focuses on the theory and describes the Korean popular music, cross its history, major companies in the sector and their activity in foreign markets. In following theoretical chapters there is the definition of basic marketing terms, the theory of marketing research, its methods and evaluation and use of marketing research in culture, a summary of the economic situation in South Korea and differences in business negotiations between Koreans and Europeans. The practical part of the thesis describes in detail the selected companies, their products and activities in Europe. Furthermore there is an introduction to research and information about the survey. The final part deals with the evaluation and interpretation of the findings, conclusions drawn from the information obtained and the proposed solutions.

The main aims of this diploma thesis were to analyze the biscuits market at in-store area and to give some recommendations to Kraft Foods company, how to communicate in this media type in future. The diploma thesis consists of theoretical and methodological part and practical part. In the theoretical and methodological part, there are described terms related to the market, analysis of the market, customers' behaviour - its types, process and influencing factors. Also in this part the in-store communication, the subject, process and methods of marketing research are explained. The practical part is based on the theoretical and methodological part. It includes information about the biscuits market, Kraft Foods company, their competitors and customers. The Nielsen, Admosphere, MML, U&A data analyzes and author's own research, were realized and their results are summarized in this part. Author's own research was done by monitoring in-store areas in 6 hypermarkets and supermarkets. The results of all analyzes and of author's own research are summarized in the chapter Conclusion. Also the recommendations for Kraft Foods company are to be found there.

Determinación de las características musicales de las canciones de mayor éxito del pop español de los 80 (1980-1989)

[EN] The goal of this study is to find out the composing elements and resources which have been used by Spanish bands and soloists of the Pop music in the 80's. The present work is composed of various sections: firstly, a sociological part, compiling all the necessary information to select the songs which will be the core of the analysis. Secondly, a historic study about the effect that these songs have had on the public; and finally, an analytical study where not only the formal, harmonic, melodic, rhythmic and timbre aspects have been defined, but also some of the tecniques used to write the lyrics. In this work, different specialists related to Pop music have been interviewed, such as singers, musicians, radio speakers, DJs, sound technicians and businessmen. This research, apart from looking into the most relevant songs at that period, also compiles huge information about their composing aspects and provides essential information to understand the musical reality of the Spanish Pop music in the 80's, including numerous examples and transcriptions of musical passages. / [ES] La intención del presente estudio es averiguar los elementos y recursos compositivos utilizados por los grupos y solistas españoles de música Pop de la década de los 80. El trabajo se compone de varias secciones: una parte sociológica, recopilando toda la información precisa para obtener las canciones que después serán objeto del análisis, un estudio histórico de la repercusión que esas canciones han tenido en el público y en tercer lugar analítico, en el que se definen los aspectos formales, armónicos, melódicos, rítmicos y tímbricos de las canciones, así como alguno de los recursos utilizados para la confección de las letras. The effects of emotional prosody on perceived clarity in degraded speech

The ability to hear is important to communicate with other people. People suffering from hearing loss are more likely to also suffer from loneliness and depression (Mener et al., 2013; Mo et al., 2005). To understand how degraded speech is recognized, the pop-out effect has been studied. The pop-out effect is the moment when a listener recognizes the meaning of degraded speech. Previous research on the pop-out effect in perception of speech has predominantly been focused towards top-down processes, such as form-based priming and semantic coherence in sentences. The purpose of this study was to research the relationship between emotional prosody and the perception of speech in varying levels of degraded speech. The participants were presented sentences with angry, neutral or happy prosody in varying levels of noise vocoding. The participants were then asked to rate the perceived amount of noise for each sentence, and if the prosody was perceived as positive, neutral or negative for each sentence. The results suggest that the participants' ability to perceive positive prosody in the sentences decreased more rapidly than negative as the amount of noise increased. The result did not show any statistically significant evidence that emotional prosody had any effect on the perceived amount of noise. Future research should further investigate emotional prosody together with emotional semantics, as an emotionally coherent spoken sentence, and the influences on speech perception in adverse listening conditions, in order to further investigate the factors contributing to the pop-out effect.

Levande spelmusik : Att bearbeta arrangemang på TV-spelsmusik utifrån musikers upplevelser och återkoppling

TV-spelsmusik och arrangering är något som brinner starkt för mig. Dock kan det finnas bristande intresse för TV-spelsmusik bland professionella musiker. För att öka musikers engagemang när de ska framföra levande TV-spelsmusik, och för att bredda mina arrangeringskunskaper, har jag bearbetat två av mina skrivna arrangemang med hjälp av musikerna själva. Musikerna som deltog i arbetet har fått bidra med egna upplevelser om sina instrument och med återkoppling på deras instrumentstämmor i mina arrangemang. Med detta underlag bearbetades arrangemangen för att sedan repeteras i orkester och till sist framföras på en konsert. Framförandet har utvärderats mot bearbetningarna för att se hur strategierna fungerar i praktiken. Om inte denna bearbetningsstrategi är användbar i framtiden så kommer i alla fall resultatet jag fått från detta projekt vara till nytta. Lärdomen jag fått från genomförandet, och framförallt från musikernas återkoppling och upplevelser, kommer kunna hjälpa all min framtida arrangering och mitt framtida yrkesliv som arrangeringslärare.

La construcción de marca con relación al posicionamiento de las bandas del género musical k-pop

El ámbito musical está en crecimiento desde hace unos años, debido a la aparición de nuevos géneros y cambios culturales que ha sufrido el país. Gracia ello, se ha dado paso a nuevos géneros como el k-pop. El enfoque del género es brindar a los consumidores una experiencia única, en donde disfrutarán de bandas conformadas por hombre o mujeres, los cuales realizan puestas en escenas coloridas con coreografías estructuradas. La presente investigación se enfoca en explicar cómo las bandas son un producto y que este necesita de acciones de marketing para ser creado. Por ello, se investigó la relación entre el estilo de los artistas y el posicionamiento, las fanpages y streaming como medio de interacción con los seguidores y su relación con el posicionamiento en el ámbito musical. En la parte inicial de la investigación se dan a conocer la opinión de los expertos y del público primario que se obtuvo mediante focus groups y entrevistas semiestructuradas respectivamente, las cuales constituyen al enfoque cualitativo, el cual trata de explicar que acciones son las que estas bandas realizan para lograr el posicionamiento deseado. En segunda instancia, se encuentran los resultados cuantitativos, los cuales se obtuvieron mediante la medición de Anova, correlaciones de Pearson, entre otros. Mediante este análisis se obtuvo que el estilo del artista no tiene una relación significativa con el posicionamiento, que el fanpage sí tiene una relación significativa con el posicionamiento y que el streaming también la tiene. Todo ello será tratado a mayor profundidad en el cuerpo del texto, en donde se pondrán en discusión las diferentes posturas de las teoría con las opiniones de expertos, el pop y los resultados obtenidos en la prueba de las hipótesis. / The musical realm has been growing for a few years, due to the appearance of new genres and cultural changes that the country has undergone. Thanks to this, it has given way to new genres such as k-pop. The focus of the genre is to provide consumers with a unique experience, where they will enjoy bands made up of men or women, which perform colorful scenes with structured choreographies. This research focuses on explaining how bands are a product and that it needs marketing actions to be created. Therefore, the relationship between artists' style and positioning, fanpages and streaming as a means of interaction with followers and their relationship with positioning in the musical field was investigated. In the initial part of the investigation disclosed the expert opinion and the primary audience that was obtained by groups focus and semistructured interviews respectively, which constitute a qualitative approach, which tries to explain that actions are what these are bands perform to achieve the desired positioning. In the second instance, there are quantitative results, which were obtained through the measurement of Anova, Pearson correlations, among others. Through this analysis it was obtained that the artist's style does not have a significant relationship with the positioning, that the fanpage does have a significant relationship with the positioning and that the streaming also has it. All this will be treated in greater depth in the body of the text, where the different positions of the theory will be discussed with the opinions of experts, pop and the results obtained in the hypothesis test. / Trabajo de investigación
