The mental picture related to the size and shape of the body, besides the feelings and attitudes related to these characteristics, is designated by the term body image. Although single and indivisible, the body image integrates multiple dimensions, being vulnerable to internal and external dynamic processes and being in constant transformation. Body dissatisfaction is linked to low self-esteem and limitations of the psychosocial performance. It is also associated with depression, as well as being related to eating disorders like anorexia, bulimia and compulsive eating. The present study aimed to determine the factors associated to body dissatisfaction among students enrolled in the early grades of elementary school in a public school in the city of Juiz de Fora – MG, and identify the impressions on the body image and body dissatisfaction of those with adequate nutritional status. A cross design of quantitative and qualitative, descriptive, analytical and exploratory study was performed. The sample consisted of children between eight and twelve years, enrolled in the elementary school in a public school of Juiz de Fora - MG. The instrument used to assess body dissatisfaction was a body shape figures scale, and the remaining data was collected through questionnaires. The qualitative data was collected through the focus group method. The quantitative data was analyzed using the statistical package Statistical Software for Professional (STATA) version 12.0. The measure of association used was the prevalence ratio (PR), determined by the Poisson regression with robust variance estimator. It was considered a significance level of 5% for the definition of the final model. The analysis of the focus group was performed using the content of the discussions. It was observed a frequency of body dissatisfaction of 86.5% and significant association with body fat percentage, duration of physical activity, maternal education and maternal employment. The results obtained by the qualitative assay demonstrate the concern with the body appearance and the opinion of others about body image, besides the desire to perform some corporal change. The influence of family and media on body image was also observed. Childhood and adolescence are periods in which people acquire habits that may be taken for life, and they represent people prone to take inadequate attitudes. Thus, it is important to conduct research with these individuals, especially relating to body image, as body dissatisfaction brings negative thoughts and feelings, influencing emotional health, quality of life and social interaction.

Framing Yunnan Tourism: An Analysis of News Coverage in People's Daily : Examining the Shift in Contexts of Yunnan Tourism in People's Daily Over Time

Lybäck, Maximilian January 2023 (has links)
This study examines how People's Daily portrayed tourism and minorities in its news coverage. The study includes both quantitative and qualitative components. The objective of the quantitative section is to determine in what contexts tourism appears in news reporting and whether the presence of these contexts has changed since the 1999 World Horticultural Exposition in Kunming. The objective of the qualitative section was to determine how the image of minorities is constructed in some of the identified media contexts and to what extent and in what ways the news reporting can be considered to have been stereotyped. The theoretical framework is based on critical discourse theory approaches. The results of the quantitative analysis showed that tourism appears in eight different media contexts, with the economic link being by far the most common. The results of the quantitative analysis also indicate that tourism reporting increased after the 1999 World Horticultural Exposition, but a strong correlation could not be established. The results of the qualitative analysis indicate that news coverage may be influenced to some extent by minority stereotypes.

Prognose von Immobilienwerten / Forecasting of real estate values. Expert survey as forecasting technique.

Steinbrecher, Diana 22 August 2017 (has links) (PDF)

Van der Merwe, Susanna Johanna 04 1900 (has links)
Text in Afrikaans / This study is aimed at the development of strategies for therapists to be used with adolescents and late adolescents (15 to 20 years of age) who have lost a loved one. This will be done by focussing on the redefining of identity as a way of becoming. The starting point of the study is to be found in the problem formulation that the process of becoming of adolescents who have suffered the loss of a loved one, may be blocked because they do not have the necessary skills to overcome the loss. The second problem is that therapists do not have the necessary skills to empower these adolescents so that the redefining of identity can be achieved. / Social work / D. Diac. (Spelterapie)

Identifying supervision resources available to recently qualified play therapists working from a Gestalt approach in South Africa

Gehle, April Angela 06 1900 (has links)
In South Africa the Center for Child Youth and Family Studies is training practitioners yearly to work as play therapists from a gestalt approach. Once these practitioners successfully complete their training and qualify they could begin practicing play therapy from a gestalt approach. Each of these recently qualified play therapists is then responsible for organising and committing to their own supervision. Therapists who do not attend supervision risk stagnation and burn out due to a lack of positive interaction in relation to receiving knowledge and support from those more experienced in gestalt play therapy and from their peers. At present there is a perceived lack of supervision resources based on a gestalt approach particularly for those recently qualified play therapists working from a gestalt approach that are geographically distant from the areas where training takes place. This study sought to answer the question of what supervision resources are currently available to recently qualified play therapists working from a gestalt approach in South Africa. In order to answer this question combined quantitative and qualitative research approaches were used. An internet survey questionnaire was completed by recently qualified play therapists working from a gestalt approach which formed part of the quantitative section of the research. Structured interviews were conducted via Skype with professionals experienced in the field of Gestalt therapy theory and supervision from a gestalt approach and this formed part of the qualitative section of the research. Overall the results from the merged data indicate a lack of supervisors qualified to give supervision based on a gestalt approach. This factor contributes to the overall lack of supervision resources based on a gestalt approach for recently qualified play therapists working from this approach. Geographical distance from supervision resources places financial and time constraints on recently qualified play therapists that prevent them from accessing supervision based on a gestalt approach. Despite this results indicate those recently qualified play therapists working from a gestalt approach are attempting to meet their responsibility and requirement for supervision. / Psychology / M. Reflexe otázky přijetí jednotné evropské měny v českém denním tisku / A Reflection on the Question of Single European Currency Adoption in the Czech Press

Obenbergerová, Linda January 2012 (has links)
Diploma thesis "A Reflection on the Question of Single European Currency Adoption in the Czech Press" deals with an analysis of media picture of the transition of the Czech Republic to the common currency euro in Czech media. With the help of the quantitative method of content analysis and the qualitative method of grounded theory, articles from the dailies Hospodářské noviny and Právo are being analysed. The sample includes articles from the beginning of May 2004, the accession of the Czech Republic to the European Union, until the end of April 2011. Quantitative content analysis enables comparison of both of the periodicals by means of organization and general summary of quantifiable data from the articles. The method of grounded theory regards the examined collection as a whole and provides detailed analysis of the sample in order to identify hidden structures of the text. The focus of this work is articulation of the media image of the European common currency adoption in the Czech Republic, based on the partial outcomes of the research project. This text as an extension of the bachelor thesis "The Image of Euro Adoption in Czech Press" uses its outputs in addition to the revision of the research with a broadened sample, mapping seven years of development of the topic. Consequently, scope for...

Desenvolvimento de metodologia analítica específica e seletiva para a determinação do nitrato de econazol em cremes / Development of a specific and selective analytical methodology for the determination of econazole nitrate in creams

Galdos, Angel Arturo Gaona 18 April 2008 (has links)
In this work, were performed qualitative and quantitative identitication econazole nitrate (raw material); thermal characterization of econazole nitrate, excipients and formulation (cream). There also were developed and validated specific and selective analytical methodology for quantitative determination of econazole nitrate in creams. The thermal characterization of drug product excipients was performed using the Thermogravimetry (TG). For the thermal characterization of econazole nitrate drug and their formulation were used the Thermogravimetry, Derivative Thermogravimetry (TG/DTG) and Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC). From cream formulation were identified and quantified two kinds of water which have different interactions with matrix. As regards lo developing of specific methodology was used the capillary zone electrophoresis (CZE). The method was linear, with a correlation coefficient of 0.9995 in the concentration range of 80 to 120 µg.mL-1 of econazole nitrate, precision calculated as relative standard deviation (RSD) was less than 2%, accuracy calculated percentage of recovery for commercial sample was of 100 ± 2.5%, detection and quantitation limits were 1.853 µg.mL-1 and 5.617 µg.mL-1, respectively. The CZE method showed to be robust. For developing of selective methodology were used high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) with gradient elution, and micellar electrokinetic chromatography (MEKC) methods. Econazole nitrate, related impurities the drug (4-Chlorobenzyl alcohol, alpha-2,4-dichlorophenyl-1H - imidazole-1-ethanol) and preservatives (methylparaben, propylparaben) present in the drug product were separated. The HPLC method was linear for all analytes, the correlation coefficients were higher than 0.99. The precision for nitrate econazol in terms of RSD was less than 2%, the percentage of recovery for commercial sample of econazole nitrate was 100±2%, the method is robust and could be applied for the quantitation of the five substances cited above. With the MEKC method developed the five substances were separated less time comparated with HPLC method.
