Design d'un territoire avec des bâtiments sans énergie fossile à l'horizon 2050 / Design no fossil fuel consumptions in building sector for 2050

Kotnarovsky, Grégory 27 February 2013 (has links)
With 42% of the final energy consumption and 25% of CO2 emissions, the French building sector represents a major challenge to manage the energy bill for households, regional communities and the State. This doctoral thesis analyses how communities are able to be involved in projects aiming at reducing energy consumptions in buildings. It proposes to formalize a collaborative design process of energy efficiency program, usable for local actors. The original thesis hypothesis asserts that a significant improvement of the energy efficiency in buildings depends on a paradigm shift of the economic model and proposes the functional economy as a potential solution. Three experimentations were followed to build the argumentation and its validation: the departments of Meuse and Haute-Marne, the two villages of Dammarie-sur-Saulx (Meuse) and Epizon (Haute-Marne) and the city of Commercy (Meuse). This work defines on key success factors of a energy efficiency program and its assessment; the need to use a new economic model as a landmark to establish the action relevance. This work highlights also other programs taking account an evolution of the building sector organisation

Thoresson, Josefin January 2015 (has links)
Transforming the energy used in apartment buildings have become increasingly important issues. This study examines how energy issues were designed in a refurbishment project for apartment buildings built during the “Million Programme” era in Sweden in the district of Östra Sätra in Gävle. The analytical approach and tools used are based on science and technology studies (STS), actor–network theory (ANT), and urban studies. Specifically, the study applies the concept of assemblages, which in this study are called energy assemblages. Energy issues are examined as they translated and negotiated in practice by actors and how they are incorporated into the refurbishment design. The empirical data are based on qualitative interviews, analyses of documents, and observations. The analyses demonstrate that work on energy issues was intertwined with the city’s work on planning and energy issues, the housing company’s working practices, as well as the laws governing public housing companies. The study also demonstrates that sometimes tensions arose in situations in which different energy assemblage processes collided. The study identifies several areas of tension. First, tensions arose in situations of diverse translations of energy goals. Second, in negotiations about calculations of the financial costs of energy transition. Third, tensions also arose when determining where energy transition should be located. Fourth, about resident participation in energy issues. Fifth, the energy transition timeframe. The study demonstrates that energy efficiency measures were prioritized in the refurbishment as long as they were treated as financially beneficial and did not challenge or change existing relationships, work practices, and customer relations.

Mazzoli, Cecilia 08 June 2015 (has links)
The research is aimed at presenting a new integrated approach to aid operators and designers to manage the design process as a whole in refurbishment interventions of recent existing building stock, through the use of innovative technological envelope solutions. The study requires the acquisition of a selection of typological and constructive envelope solutions, as a starting point for the development of design solutions to be used for architectural renovation of schools built after the Second World War, in reinforced concrete and mostly prefabricated. The project identifies sustainable construction processes for the design of “active”, adaptive, efficient and dry assembled envelope components, in accordance with the performance requirements prescribed by current regulations. The purpose of the research is to manage the whole design process with the support of geometrical survey, connected to parametric programming software for modelling surfaces which can be adapted to the morphology of existing buildings. These computerized CAD-CAM tools are connected to CNC machines for “customized” industrialized production. To illustrate this innovative approach, two envelope solutions are proposed, according to the research paradigms and the principles of sustainability, meant as modularity, speed of setup, reversibility, recycling and reuse of materials with low environmental impact. In particular, the innovative solutions have in common the application of a technique based on the assembly of prefabricated components, the adoption of hexagonal patterns for the tessellation of the new surface of the façade, and the use of the same plastic and inorganic, recycled and sustainable, thermal insulation material (AAM-Alkali Activated Materials). The design solutions proposed are developed at the two sites involved in the joint

Étude expérimentale et numérique de solutions basées sur les éco-matériaux pour la rénovation thermique du patrimoine bâti urbain / Experimental and numerical study of bio-based insulation systems for the thermal refurbishment of historic dwellings in urban areas

Claude, Sophie 08 March 2018 (has links)
Improving the energy efficiency of buildings is essential to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and mitigate against climate change. Historic dwellings represent a large part of the French building stock that needs to be refurbished. In the city center of Cahors, France, the old medieval dwellings are considered as valuable cultural heritage and internal insulation is often the only insulation technique that can be used when the architectural value of the exterior façade is to be preserved. This PhD thesis, funded by a CIFRE agreement with the Communauté d’Agglomération du Grand Cahors, studied the suitability of bio-based materials for the internal insulation of historical dwellings in urban area. The selection of the insulation material and the system is crucial because of its impact on the hygrothermal performance of the wall, the indoor air quality, the financial cost, and the carbon footprint of the refurbishment solution. In this study we focused on the hygrothermal performance of the walls to provide a reliable risk assessment in order to avoid hygrothermal failure. Due to the complexity of the problem and the lack of needed data, we ran a multi-scale study including both experimental (laboratory characterisation and building monitoring) and numerical modelling methods.

Towards a circular economy : A qualitative study on how to communicate refurbished smartphones in the Swedish market

Holmström, Sebastian, Böhlin, Harald January 2017 (has links)
As there are more than 1.4 billion smartphones sold every year in the world and around four million smartphones in Sweden. In recent years there has been a growing concern to move from a linear economic system to a circular economic system. Smartphones and other electronic equipment stand for the largest growing waste streams in the European Union. The rising prices of raw materials used in smartphone manufacturing over the last decades, along with the fact that these minerals are being mined in conflict stricken areas and the growing environmental awareness among people makes the refurbished smartphone’s market very current. Thus, it is of great interest to investigate consumer behaviour linked to refurbished smartphones as it is still in its early stages. As such, many of the barriers identified in this thesis can be linked to the communication of refurbished smartphones. The purpose of this thesis is to get a deeper understanding of how companies can communicate to break the barriers that exists for the consumer acceptance of refurbished smartphones in the Swedish market. Earlier studies have also focused on refurbishment as a concept rather than the consumer’s responses towards it. The study will be conducted in Sweden which has not been done previously. Therefore, our study will contribute to a deeper understanding of the consumer behaviour in the refurbished smartphone market in Sweden and thus aid companies in their communication of refurbished smartphones. To fulfil the purpose, a qualitative study has been conducted through semi-structured interviews. The sample groups were environmental enthusiasts, technology experts, refurbished product buyers, second hand buyers and companies. From the interviews five themes were derived: initial response, benefits, risks, barriers and communication. The findings and conclusions of the thesis are derived from the themes and subthemes that were created. There are many barriers and risks that make people avoid purchasing refurbished smartphones. The findings suggest that the consumers’ initial response are generally very positive and many consumers would consider a refurbished smartphone as their next smartphone purchase. Another finding is that a lack of knowledge about refurbishment lead to doubts about refurbished smartphones. The barriers found were lack of awareness, lack of thrill of newness, naming of refurbished products and lack of knowledge. The largest barrier, was lack of awareness. A solution to resolve this barrier could be to communicate the refurbishment process. A major finding was that that the environmental aspects were a vital purchase criteria for the consumers, however, not the most vital aspect. Moreover, societal benefits were raised regarding refurbished products in terms of benefitting the entire society. The biggest risk detected in the study was the performance, risk as the consumer may believe that the smartphone will be in a poor condition even though it has been refurbished. A big risk was the financial risk in terms of the substantial price for a refurbished smartphone. To reduce this the companies could adapt to the market standard and sell their refurbished smartphones in package deals. Our findings suggest that price should be communicated in combination with warranty and also environmental aspects, however, the environmental aspect is often abstract. The companies should consider using branding more to communicate these messages. Word of mouth was seen to be important and companies should utilise customer reviews more. In terms of emotional and rational appeals both should be used, however, what appeal that the companies should focus on emphasise on is not obvious.

Nadzvuková kinetická depozice vícefázových materiálů s redukovanou tepelnou roztažností / Cold spray deposition of reduced thermal expansion multiphase materials

Kašuba, Matúš January 2019 (has links)

Analýza vlivu rekonstrukce na obvyklou cenu rodinného domu v Kyjově / Impact analysis of renovation on the normal price of a single-family house in Kyjov

Kouřilová, Vendula January 2016 (has links)
The subject of this master thesis is detection how the redevelopment and refurbishment affect regular price of family house. For valuation I chose the building in which I grew up so I know it very good. The family house is located in small south-moravian town Kyjov, in district Nětčice. The family house has a basement and two upper floors. Constructions were completed in 1962. Since 1976 many quite expensive redevelopment and refurbishment have been done. For property valuation is used method of direct comparison with the use of database of similar family houses in Kyjov and also cost method according to law number 441/2013 Sb. Valuation is done in two versions – for building in original condition (in 1985) and in current condition. All at once a couple of variants of redevelopment, which are common nowadays, and for one variant is made the itemized budget. Result of this master thesis should be detection if it is better to buy house after redevelopment and refurbishment or house in original condition and make these structural modifications until then.

Conditioned atria in the built environment - A possible solution for unsustainable urbanization and climate change in Nordic climates?

Cupello de Vasconcellos, Lucas January 2020 (has links)
The aim of the research is to explore the differences in final energy consumption and environmental impact of the construction materials related to the atrium alternative and a business-as-usual and evaluate how to improve thermal properties of old buildings that require renovations to fit thermal efficiency standards and comfort in operational conditions while reducing the overall impact of the projects. Results show that for the low-rise atrium most of the parameters related to the final energy demands and environmental impacts of the atrium construction materials are proportional and linear to the increase of the glazing area size. When compared to simply renovating old structures, the atrium alternative can promote a decrease in thermal losses by transmission and increase in incident solar radiation through the glazed area depending on the atrium dimensions and glazing area size. And although cooling, heating, electrical and ventilation demands are raised for the overall demand of the building the construction of an atrium bears less environmental impact than renovating old structures damaged by weather. / <p>2021-04-08</p>

Společensko-kulturní centrum v Dolních Kounicích / Socio-cultural centre Dolní Kounice

Vašut, Štěpán January 2016 (has links)
My diploma thesis is based on the module Res Publica - Public works focusing on community buildings. Dozens of towns were surveyed, whether they are interested in reconstruction of their community or sociocultural centre, and eventually a small town Dolní Kounice was chosen especially because of the beauty of the surrounding countryside as well as the exciting native urbanism and architecture. This thesis deals with transformation of the cultural house from the 50s of the 20th century to a new cultural centre. The extension and inconvenient terrace were removed and the hall is supported by a new mass of the vestibule at the interface between interior and exterior, on the site of the former patio. Next, a new front of the building was introduced which increased the entrance of the house and created a space for a study room, small gym, meeting room and common rooms. The part of the house used for housing units is designed only with aesthetic details on the facade. The Culture Centre is divided into a set of materials in order to reduce the scale of the whole building. The entrance part mass, in contrast, is enhanced by its division and the chosen materials. In this way the originally embarrassing object of the Cultural Centre has been changed into a new centre with a clear architectural expression and the interior of the house is enriched by view of the beauty of the city.
