Poptávka po službách lyžařských škol v Krkonoších / Demand for the services of ski schools in Krkonoše mountains

Čápová, Hana January 2009 (has links)
The main aim is to describe and analyze a key determinants of the demand for services of ski schools in Krkonoše mountains. At the beginning I focus on a segment of ski schools itself. After, the hypotesis are set up, based on the defined determinants, and verified by a survey. The survey was held in a winter season 2008/ 2009 in Dolní Dvůr, Ski school SKi Baron. In addition the survey focusing on visit rate of Krkonoše mountains is mentioned. Next point is to compare two ski schools according to a different clients (SKOL MAX in Špindlerův Mlýn and Ski Baron in Dolní Dvůr).

Vilka får mest utrymme på vägen upp för Alpe Cermis? : En kvantitativ innehållsanalys om rapporteringen av kvinnor och män inom längdskidtävlingen Tour de Ski. / Who gets the most coverage on the way up Alpe Cermis? : A quantitative content analysis about the reporting of women and men in the cross-country skiing competition Tour de Ski.

Jakobsson, Oscar, Jonsson, Eddie January 2021 (has links)
This study examined the difference in reporting of women and men in cross-country skiing during three years of Tour de Ski (2017/2018, 2018/2019 and 2019/2020). The media that were compared was the Swedish public service media Sveriges Television (SVT) and the commercial media Aftonbladet, with a total sample of 350 digital articles. The purpose of the study was to find out how equal the coverage of men and women in the two media companies were. A content analysis was used to make sure the three chosen research questions could be answered. The two theories that this study was based upon were gender theory and the agenda setting theory.  Results from the analysis showed that more articles in both media companies focused on female athletes. SVT focused on female athletes in 46,30 % of their articles and on male athletes only in 40,74 % and the gap was even bigger in Aftonbladet. However, men were more often used as sources in the articles. When examining text length it was clear that the articles had similar length regardless of who the text focused on, but SVT tended to write longer when male athletes were in focus. There was also an examination on how the coverage changed over the three years. Results showed female athletes got more space each year and male athletes less. The study also contains a discussion about the connection between the gender of the writer and the content in the articles. The gender of the writer did not play a significant role in how the competition was reported. Most of the results were similar whoever wrote it, but in the public service media SVT, female writers tended to let more female athletes speak than male writers did. Results showed that the public service media SVT reported more equal than Aftonbladet in the coverage of Tour de Ski, especially in the use of sources.

Design of workstation for binding adjustment in ski rental shops

Lundin, Felix January 2021 (has links)
This master thesis project was a part of the education Master of science in Industrial Design Engineering at Luleå University of Technology with the mission of developing a work desk that suits in to the client company NoMoreBoots range of ski rental products. The background of the project was that work desks that are used mainly with the purpose of adjusting alpine ski bindings in ski rental shops often are primitive home constructions and other manufacturers work desks with the same purpose do not have enough advantages compared to the self-built ones to be worth the extra costs. With a new kind of tool introduced in the industry that facilitates the adjustments of alpine ski bindings came an opportunity to design the work desk in a new way. The work process has followed the user-centered design framework Double Diamond which consists of the phases: discover, define, develop and deliver. After exploring of the context with interviews and benchmarking, the projects main focus became at the ergonomic conditions and how it could be improved for the staff as it was the need identified that had the most protentional of improvements for the user. Literature studies, different types of idea generating methods and evaluations have been conducted to come up with a result that meet the needs of the users. The project resulted in a CAD model of a compact work desk that has a height adjustment mechanisk to enable the user to work with a good ergonomic position in several different work tasks.

Energetické nároky krytého lyžařského svahu / The energy demand of an indoor ski slope

Mozola, Ondrej January 2021 (has links)
This diploma thesis deals with the issue of energy requirements for operation of indoor ski slopes. The first part is dedicated to research of snow making, cooling and construction methods of ski halls along with the examples of specific projects. In the second part, the aim was to design a ski hall with specific geometry and insulation and then define energy losses of such building. Subsequently, all related energy flows were calculated, which led to the determination of the required cooling capacity. Based on this, the cooling cycle was calculated and the overall electricity demand for the operation of the ski hall during the year was set. In the third part, three options for covering electricity needs are evaluated and at the same time they are compared in terms of financial costs during the year.

Kritéria, která mají vliv na výnosy lyžařských areálů / Criteria Influencing Ski Resort Profits

Procházková Uvizlová, Martina January 2012 (has links)
The main goal of my work is to set the criteria which have an influence on the profit of the ski resorts. The topic deals with building valuation, public database and data about air temperature. The part of the thesis is about building valuation of two companies that own chosen ski resorts. The valuation is done by the definite valuation regulation, single objects in the way given by the valuation notice. For main influential criteria was needed to get the information about profit and expense, this information was necessary for assessment of the company profit. From this information we can say that gross profit relies on the rent which both companies have to pay for ski lift and lift area. Assessment of criteria is about the location of the ski resorts. The most important criteria are the accommodation capacity and the weather. The accommodation capacity is going together with attendance. Because of the possibility of sleeping over the visitors of the ski resorts, the weather and the air temperature have an influence on the snow quality and this is going together with the length of the skiing season.

RFID implementation in ski boot rental : Product and system development

Warnhag, Elna January 2022 (has links)
A tag system using RFID is proposed to avoid bending down, walking around, or bending over a bench for scanning ski boots (for their sole measurement). Using methods such as observations and interviews, the problem was defined and then visualised with the help of a persona and storyboard. Ideas were then created through brainstorming, braindrawing, and morphological matrix. They were then sorted through by feasibility and interest and combined to create three separate concepts. These were discussed, and two finalists were analysed further and compared in a weight value matrix. The final concept is a slanted footpad with a footprint and built-in lights to invite the user and promote correct usage, which has been the project’s focus.

Understanding the motivation and satisfaction for volunteering at sports events in the context of Covid-19. : The case of the 2021 Lahti Ski Games

Lantz, Carsten Erik January 2021 (has links)
Volunteers are essential for the success of almost any organized event. However, volunteering has undergone a process of modernization, in which altruistic or collective forms of volunteering, motivated by intrinsic behaviors, have been replaced by more egoistic or reflexive ones, which are extrinsically motivated. The purpose of this master’s thesis, following qualitative methodologies in the form of semi-structured interviews and my personal observations, the factors of motivation and satisfaction of nine volunteers from the 2021 Lahti Ski Games, as well as how their previous volunteering satisfaction could have impacted their motivation to engage in volunteering action this year have been analyzed. Furthermore, given that the event took place during the Covid-19 pandemic, the implications of the virus on the motives to volunteer and its consequent events on the volunteering experience have been investigated. Results demonstrate that despite both types of motivation to volunteer are shown among participants, modern forms of volunteerism seem to have a higher presence. Furthermore, this study demonstrates that previous volunteering satisfaction has a clear influence on the intentions to volunteer in the future. Finally, it is stated that the event taking place during the Covid-19 pandemic did not influence the motivation as much as the satisfaction of the volunteering experience. Thus, this thesis generates unique knowledge on the topics of volunteering motivation and satisfaction. However, the implications of Covid-19 have not been yet deeply investigated and it suggests that further research could be conducted on the topic.
