Možnosti zaměstnání osob bez domova / The Employment opportunities for homeless people

Zimová, Marie January 2018 (has links)
(in English) The following master dissertation deals with the issue of integration of homeless people to the labour market. People who live on the streets gradually lose their working habits, social contacts and motivation to change their situation. The main objective of this dissertation is to map the homeless people's chances of integration to the labour market and the way to try to bring them back to the ordinary life. Their possible integration depends on many aspects, therefore this dissertation considers a huge amount of motivation of the subjects asked and obstacles, which interfere in finding a job. First part of the dissertation is made of a theory with an emphasis on a high rate of desocialization of homeless people and the possible difficulties within searching for a job. It also focuses on considerable types of help and support whilst finding an employment for those people. That should come from different subjects - the government side and so from private organizations. The theoretical part is ending with a chapter describing four private organizations which focus on helping people, such as trying to find them a job. The collection of all data comes from a qualitative research, in form of sixteen structured interviews (four in each organization) with people currently living on the...

The theoretical part concludes with a chapter describing four non-state organizations focusing on the employment of homeless people. Data collection was conducted on the basis of qualitative research, in the form of 16 semi- structured interviews (4 interviews in each organization) with people in the past or currently living on the street and employed in one of the four organizations I am putting...

Nežádoucí bydlení? Tzv. bezdoplatkové zóny jako veřejně politický problém / Undesirable Housing: So called 'non supplement zones' as a public policy problem

Matuštíková, Anna January 2020 (has links)
This thesis is a case study with a goal to comprehensively map and depict the evolution of the so- called non-supplement zones. This name is an abbreviated term that is used in media for the general provision authorizing establishing of areas of higher incidence of socially undesirable phenomena, where housing supplements are not to be payed to any new applicants. Bohemian and Moravian municipalities can make use of this measure since 2017. Thus they aim to fight the poverty industry and the problems connected with it. Additionally, a Constitutional Court decision on the appeal on this measure made by a group of senators is awaited since 2017. In this thesis, the problematique is viewed both on policy and politics level, both on national and local level, using the theory of the policy process, agenda setting, and the multiple streams theory. Under examination are also the levels of discourses and framing of the problem. To demonstrate a local context, there was chosen the case of the Kladno municipality, which holds a specific position in the context since it is the first city in the Czech Republic that decided to declare this general provision on its entire territory. However, later the decision was annulled by the regional administration. The research was based mainly on documents survey, media...

Romové na českém venkově: determinanty vyloučení a potenciál pro inkluzi / Roma on the Czech countryside: Determinants of exclusion, potentials for inclusion

Hurrle, Jakob January 2019 (has links)
The dissertation project Roma on the Czech countryside: Determinants of exclusion, potentials for inclusion deals with the situation of Roma in Czech rural municipalities. The starting motivation for the author's exploration of this topic has been information about the growing number of segregated localities in rural areas. In the local public discourses within the peripheral areas, this phenomenon has often been explained as the consequence of poverty-driven urban-rural migration. However, as the migration of socially excluded populations into disadvantaged areas stirs a lot of fears and negative emotions that provide a fertile ground for the spread of rumours, the author's preparatory research soon revealed that it is necessary to carefully distinguish between myths and reality. The author's desire to understand the complex processes behind the emergence of new Roma localities in rural areas required a combination of working methods: The author analysed the national policy and regulatory framework and realized empirical research in five micro-regions in different parts of the Czech Republic. In addition to this, data were gained through the realization of a country-wide survey with two different sets of questionnaires, which targeted rural municipalities with socially excluded localities and urban social...

Exploring Perceived Stigmatization of People with Bipolar Disorder to deepen the knowledge For Glocal Social Work Practice by means of an Interview and Literature Study.

Yengo, Beryl Delight, Simba, Michael Swarne Noble January 2020 (has links)
The aim of the research was to explore perceived stigmatization of People with Bipolar Disorder to deepen the knowledge for Glocal Social Work Practice by means of an Interview and Literature Study. The data of the research was gathered from the perspective of people with bipolar diagnosis and a peer within the field, about whether stigma is experienced by people with bipolar disorder and how their resilience factors i.e. strength factors can be supported and enhanced. A qualitative study was conducted with the purpose of expanding the evidence-based knowledge base by exploring how people with bipolar disorder with resilience experienced stigmatization, and the factors that supported their resilience versus inhibited their resilience in their adversity. The research results were analyzed through literature reviews and interviews to gain an in-depth knowledge of the phenomena. The findings indicated that stigma was experienced by the people with bipolar disorder, and was experienced as affecting recovery negatively, creating reluctance to seek help and adding more stress factors. It was mentioned that a healthy social network for support (spouses, relatives, friends andprofessionals) i.e. inclusion along with an active lifestyle, defined goals in life andpurpose, spirituality, nature, faith and hope for a better tomorrow assisted in building and cementing resilience. The findings also indicated that education and anti-stigmainterventions helped in establishing better attitudes revolving around mental illness, especially interventions with personal encounters with people with mental illness.

I feel for you, therefore, I respond on your behalf: Social psychological processes leading to and consequences of vicarious humiliation

Vorster, Anja 10 1900 (has links)
Vicarious humiliation as a devaluing intergroup event is a rather common experience, which has the potential to adversely influence present and future intergroup relations. Based on an extensive literature review and previous research, we hypothesised that highly identified group members experience an intensified feeling of humiliation after witnessing an ingroup member being humiliated when compared to low identifiers (Hypothesis 1), that the role of visual exposure as situational determinant of humiliating events, the appraisals, and the emotional patterns elicited, differ between personally and vicariously humiliating events (Hypotheses 2a, 2b, 3 and 4), and lastly, that vicarious humiliation regulated through emotional blends leads to behavioural intentions that influence future intergroup relations (Hypotheses 5a to 5c). Evidence for our hypotheses was exploratively and experimentally provided in six studies. Results implied that vicarious humiliation is a common experience, that visual exposure as situational determinant is more important for personally than vicariously humiliating events, and that humiliation is indeed a blended emotion (Study 1, N = 1048). Moreover, results showed that highly identified group member feel relatively stronger humiliated (Study 2, N = 175), that the appraisal and emotional patterns are related to identity processes (i.e., personal and vicarious humiliation) (Study 3, N = 74; Study 4, N = 359; Study 5 = 376), and that the feeling of humiliation and accompanying emotions regulate the relationship between vicariously humiliating events and the intentional responses such as avoidance, non-normative approach, dehumanisation and social exclusion (Study 6, N = 998). Overall, our results imply that vicarious humiliation as an emotional experience has the potential to provoke intergroup conflict. SUMMARY The present research studied a phenomenon that we are all familiar with – being humiliated. Unfortunately, this is an experience that is rather common as we might not only experience to be humiliated personally but also to be humiliated on behalf of others. It is this vicarious experience of humiliation that the present research aimed at studying. We firstly explored people’s experiences with and understandings of humiliation through a cross-sectional survey (Study 1). Results indicated that vicarious humiliation is indeed a rather common experience, that personally and vicariously humiliating events differ in terms of the situational determinants that characterise these events, and that the feeling of humiliation is experienced as a blended emotion. We furthermore tested experimentally the effects of ingroup identification, identity processes and the presence of an audience on the appraisal processes of and the emotional and motivational responses to vicarious humiliation. We found that people who highly identified with the group they share with the humiliated person, experienced stronger feelings of humiliation (Study 2), and that being personally humiliated and being vicariously humiliated resulted in different appraisal patterns, which consequently elicited the different emotional blends of humiliation with self-focused and other-focused emotions, respectively (Studies 3 to 5). We were, however, unable to provide evidence that the presence of an audience aggravated the appraisal processes and the feeling of humiliation (which we attributed to methodological limitations of our studies). That the emotional blends of humiliation regulate the behavioural intentions, that people engage in as a result of being vicariously humiliated, was demonstrated in our last study (Study 6). More specifically, we found that humiliation accompanied by self-focused emotions was related to intentions to avoid, to non-normatively approach, and/or to socially exclude the humiliator(s) through dehumanising them. It is this latter finding that provides evidence for both the role of the social context that might determine the appropriateness of certain behaviours (e.g., social norms) and for the proposed cycle of humiliation in that humiliated persons are often believed to retaliate by humiliating the humiliator(s) in return, which has the potential to provoke intergroup conflicts. / Psychology / D. Dlouhodobá nezaměstnanost osob 18-24 let v okrese Sokolov / Long Term Unemployment of Persons of Age from 18 to 24 in the District of Sokolov.

Jouzová, Dana January 2011 (has links)
This thesis deals with the problem of unemployed people aged 18 to 24 in the district of Sokolov. This group of people represents the highest amount of unemployed people in the district of Sokolov. The essential sources of data include the available statistics of the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, the Czech Statistical Office, the Municipal Office of Sokolov and the Labour Office of Sokolov. To make the problem clear it was very important to find out whether also other subjects than the Labour Office of Sokolov participate on finding a solution to unemployment of young people. An integral part of my thesis is an analysis of the labour market in the district of Sokolov. The consecutive analysis of the instrumets used in the active employment-politics in the district of Sokolov gives answer to the question whether all the available instrumets for the active employment-politics are used in the district of Sokolov. To get the whole picture of the problem, employees of the Labour Office of Sokolov and of the Department of Social Help in Material Need of the Municipal Office of Sokolov were questioned. The allegations of the people from the reference group of people aged 18 - 24 in the district of Sokolov are of high importance. There was a survey in the form of a questionnaire. The experience...
